[IC] TotMV:G2: Servant's Quarters (Travel Phase)

When he had left the strange, eldritch restaurant and returned to the castle, Navin had headed over to the Servant's Quarters in order to get a few minutes of rest, and indeed had sat in a particularly intact chair for a while and had fallen asleep surprisingly comfortably. When Marisa arrived, those few minutes he had wanted had just arrived -- Navin hadn't rested enough to completely rejuvenate him, but thanks to the rest and the earlier meal, he was no longer anywhere close to as dead tired as he had been earlier. So the sound, fire, and smell woke him up and attracted his attention, and the superhero found himself looking at a woman he hadn't seen before (Marisa), though that was a common thing recently. He addressed her:

"Oh, excuse me. Would you be another new summon like me, or one of the more experienced people here?"

"What? Summon? No, I'm not even really with this group. Just stopping by to rest and see if I can't find a couple familiar faces. You haven't seen a guy named Edmond at all, have you?" Marisa peered about the halls. "He's supposed to have something interesting to show me. Also gotta track down that orc at some point, let him know about my progress on finding him that specialist."

"Ah, duly noted. I'm afraid I'm part of a group that just appeared at this castle just a few hours ago, so the whole thing is rather confusing for us, still." He put a hand on his chin, looking upwards as he tried to remember anyone named Edmond. "I'm afraid I haven't met anyone named Edmond. Maybe he's just one of the earlier group to arrive here, or maybe I simply have not met him. I have seen the orc though. Mar, I think I heard his name was? The last I saw of him he had headed into some sort of portal, and he had been working on some sort of quarry project on the world this castle took off from a couple of hours ago."

"I see. Well, I don't remember much of why this is going on, so you'll have to excuse me on that bit." She shrugged. "If he's back on that world I can find Mar in a bit. I really do need to find a place to sit down for a bit, though. I got sidetracked trying to track down another acquaintance, one thing led to another, and it turns out people really don't appreciate it when you try to take their holy dragon book. Not that I knew it was that important at the time, or that it really belonged to anyone alive. Anyway. Did I ask your name? Mine's Marisa."

Mot and his unnecessarily large for this room motorcycle had followed Mar into the room, and he has spent most of it leaning on a nearby wall and appearing to stare vaguely at Mar's direction. Although he actually was asleep as he usually is when he can't think of anything to do or say.

Navin couldn't help but smile a little bit at her complaining about having a bad time taking some sort of "holy dragon book" -- he'd known plenty of people who had had... interesting experiences searching out artifacts. "Ah, no, I haven't properly introduced myself yet. My name is Navin Mhasalkar, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Marisa." Being as formal as he was, Navin proceeded to follow this up with a little bow. "I believe a couple of pieces of the furniture in here have been fixed recently, if you're looking for somewhere to rest."

"Good to meet you, Navin - that is your given name, right? Anyway, yeah, getting to sit down for a little bit would be nice." She poked her head through a nearby doorway and, seeing that the room was unoccupied, pushed the rest of the way in and sat down on the bed. Out of habit, she began idly weaving a spell with her unoccupied hands. "I'll go find Mar in a second."

Mot's motorcycle was less patient than the man, and it eventually prodded him with an inquisitive wheel.

This time Mot had expected that to happen and he did not fall flat on his face, and after possibly examining his surroundings a little closer or nodding off inside of his helmet again. He slowly but surely walked towards the meditating barbarian called Mar.

Mot coughed as politely as possible when he had reached the man.

Indeed she does find Mar in a second, for Mar finds himself pacing the halls, thinking deeply and generally making himself known by proximity.

She might spot him walking past.

"Yes?" Mar says to Mot, who caught him pacing.

"Oh, Mar, good." She stands up from her seat on the bed and walks to the door. "I wanted to tell you while I was here. I'm still looking for that specialist I mentioned, but I think I've got his location pinned down, and once I leave here I'll go straight to him. Probably. Any developments on your end?"

"I've broadened my magical ability, and believe I may have stumbled onto part of the solution.  I can now create tiny magical devices that feed on blood and are guided by my intentions.  I will later attempt to purify a piece of Psychocite with those nanomachines."

"I have generally gained several new types of magic.  One of those may yet hold more to discover, but my impure starting ingredients taint all further development down the line of Psychocite itself, and the mental magics it grants."

Mar nods.

Mot slowly matched Mar's pace as he walked with the man, and while for now he chose to not talk to the woman who Mar was conversing with, he nodded at her direction to try and not be too rude.

Mot eventually put on his plausibly French accent once more as he said "I was just wondering, who is driving the castle right now? And were you meditating?".

A slicing sound, the thud of boots on the stone floor, the sudden feeling of something twisted and unnatural afoot, followed by the sheathing of a sword.

All these thing signaled Morgan's appearance in the Servant's quarters.  He looked either way down the hall, located the group and started to casually make his way towards them.

Morgan enters the Servant's quarters.

[Melina enters the room]

A blonde girl entered the room, dressed in all brown cleric's clothes. Her sapphire eyes scanned over the diverse combatants and she smiled eagerly, like a girl who had just joined a scouts team.

She approached the nearest group of people and introduced herself. She had a peculiar accent, like a tough gang leader sort, contrasting to her otherwise fair face.

"Y'all must be the warriors that Wyvis kept yapping 'bout! Name's Melina of Runiem, jolly to meet ya!"

These guys look like they can handle their drinks! Ha, Wyvis wasn't pulling my leg when he said it was the world's greatest warriors!

"I greet you, I am Mar, of Stonerist Chi."

Mar says to the lady kindly.  She would note that this hunched over old guy looks pretty frail for a supposed warrior.

His kit looks impressive though, A Glaive and Boomerang held to his hip by strange chains.

Marisa waves at the newcomer. "Marisa. Though I'm just passing through, not actually part of this group." She turns to Mar. "I figured I'd ask while I was here; was there anything else you wanted me to ask this guy when I find him? He's quite the expert in his field, and you seem to be the curious type."

"I seek the ability to scan and store information using my magic, and of some way that information could be read, decoded, and leveraged to control other magic under it's governance."

"I mostly require only ways to make my magic that much more precise, as right now, every work of magic I perform is akin to using a hammer to beat words into mediums I would much prefer to write in.  For things pertaining to information and autonomy, my raw and brute mana will not suffice, as it is."

Mot was a bit too focused on his conversation with Mar to notice the recent arrival, but his motorcycle did react with a hopefully friendly beeping of its horn.

Mot ignored this "It sounds like you are trying to make a completely magical computer, uh....you know what a computer is right?".

Mot scratched his head for a moment as he tried to explain the concept of a computer as simply as possible, and he finally settled for "It is a machine that thinks for you, basically you tell it things using the machines that are linked to it and the programs it already has inside of it.

Programs are basically a set of commands that someone has already given it before you that tell it what is expected of it. So if it was a Word Processing program it would know that you are telling it to write something down for you when you input the individual letters using a Keyboard which is just a machine filled with buttons that has the alphabet written on it and other buttons that allow you to tell the machine which letters you want it to write down by pressing the button with that letter written on it.

It can do a lot of things for you, but you still need to take the initiative by telling it to do things.....I'll tell you more about it if I can find one.".

"Intriguing. I believe I have a tool in my possession that would allow me to utilize a computer."

Mar takes out his boomerang.

"This boomerang has an enchantment on it that grants me temporary mastery over language, which allows me to communicate verbally with anything I target with it."

"If you could bring me a computer of some kind, I could attempt to create a program within it."

Mot struck a rather thoughtful pose for a moment as he vaguely scratched at the part of his helmet that obscured his chin before saying "Maybe we could find one somewhere along the way or ask somebody to make us one, maybe the world we just left had one?".
