  1. Magical seed is great, especially with Shiinotic and Sleep Powder. Ralts and Kirlia (Fairy/Poison and Fairy/Fire) are both weak to ground so bring a pokemon with Earthquake if you can, Shiinotic even resists it. Gardevior will attack last under Trick Room, should fall after a couple super-effective attacks (weak to Steel, Poison and Fairy). The Ralts and Kirlia all have the ability Friend Guard, reducing damage dealt to their allies. If you can neutralize their abilities or have a pokemon with Mold Breaker, both kinda difficult to do, the fight would be easier.
  2. I've done a flying monotype as well and the Aster & Eclipse fight on Azurine Island was one of the hardest fights on the run, without Victoria at your side. The rock weakness is hard to build against. I found Dartrix and Fearow worked well in these fights, but other great options for Aster and Eclipse would be: Jumpluff, as fast as a Lycanroc with sleep powder, leech seed and stab acrobatics Vivillon, tinted lens, sleep powder, and quiver dance at level 45 Masquerain, intimidate, bubblebeam, quiver dance by move tutor Tranquil, learns Roost early which removes rock weakness on top of healing if used first Best of luck!!
  3. Can't seem to battle Grand Hall trainers Alola forms with Kanto form abilites when caught, Ability capsules switch to Alola abilities
  4. I was laughing at how weak Fern was, that stopped quickly when I reached the factory. God that's so mean XD Then there's the two grunts with a Lunatone and Solrock and the foreboding grows after seeing their abilities... then WHAM first hard fight of the mod is Aster and Eclipse who totally dumpster Fern and I
  5. Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for it, though I haven't seen it yet so there's some hidden trigger.
  6. Could I have some help finding Swablu? I've become very intimate with the Peridot ward Here are some other new locations Nosepass Bastiodon Floette Dedenne Sentret Bergmite Snorunt
  7. I'm attempting the virtual elite four battles now, I chose the Chikorita team, and there's no consistent way to defeat Karen. (On intense mode... is it okay to say intense is too hard?) Karen's Persian, Tyranitar, Mega Houndoom, and partly Honchkrow all punch giant holes through the whole team. Their large special stats are hard to maneuver around with the only physical attacker on the team being Skarmory, which gets 2hko'd coverage moves and outspeeds only Ttar. Two of the team's biggest hitters, Gengar and Espeon have Psychic as their strongest move, and faint quickly to dark moves. Ampharos struggles to take on Honchkrow, let alone anything else on the team. So far it's fine. Very difficult, but doable if you avoid enemy crits, hit Hypnosis for a 2+ turn sleep, get a crit for yourself or get lucky with your damage rolls all in the one battle. Still the hardest fight I've had in the virtual battles (no way Lance can be this bad), but what really makes Karen unbearable is her ace, Umbreon. It has Leftovers. It has Rest. Dark Pulse and Toxic makes short work of all six team members thanks to it's really high special stat. Every member bar Meganium takes 4 hits+ of their strongest attack to knock it out, where it has plenty of time to use Rest. The only way to stop it from using Rest it to flinch it to death with Skarmory (after Rock Tomb, otherwise Umbreon outspeeds), paralysis from Ampharos or send it to sleep yourself (although it does have Sleep Talk). By the time I reach Umbreon I'd be lucky to have one of these options still alive. All in all the odds of defeating Umbreon with the full team aren't good, let alone when the team's on its last legs after somehow defeating the rest of Karen's formidable team. The chances of winning the battle are so close to zero it's unreasonable. I am playing set mode without using bag items in battle, and I know some will say that using these handicaps on intense is asking for an unwinnable fight, but I believe that all fights should be possible to win on an equal playing field. And they have been, until now. I'm just frustrated and venting because I spent so much time finding to find consistent ways to defeat the first three of the e4 thank to the current bug only to be completely walled by Karen, who isn't even the final fight. A small buff to the Chikorita team would be nice, or nerf Karen a little for Chikorita only.
  8. I meant restored shadow pokemon, but now I realize a monotype guide isn't really the place for it. I'm really glad you made this up, it is super handy to have on hand. Thanks!
  9. I think you should put in a shadow typing too, if anyone wants to try that out. Does each chapter correlate to the same badge i.e. chapter 4 = up to badge 4?
  10. Bronzong has Gyro Ball which is awesome with Trick Room, Factory fields and Fairy Tale Field "Gyro Ball of Justice!". 150 bp off zong HURTS even before a field boost, despite a not stellar attack stat. Z-Trick Room later on raises accuracy which is good for hypnosis too. Kecleon is a fun one to try out as you can dance around the enemy's next move with Protean and its wide moveset, with handy fighting, psychic and dark moves to resist attacks that you can see coming, and surprising special bulk when invested. Porygon-2 with eviolite would be bulky with good recovery but would be offensively weaker than some other options. Malamar might be a littttle too fast for Trick Room but you could prob make it work with as little speed as possible. It could be overkill with a Metronome + Superpower.
  11. The version 12 changelog says "+Fixed Issue with Kyogre not spawning if you sequence break certain events." so maybe patch 12.1 rebroke the event? Either way I found a workaround -> return to Crawli's gym and enter the door a second time, after getting magma drift. I'm so glad I don't need to wait for this to be patched to continue my playthrough
  12. ___ flinched! ___ is paralyzed! It can't move! fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
  13. Tesla flew off awhile ago to save Amber as soon as she was captured, I think the resort is empty of all the side characters atm. WEIRD stuff is going on
  14. That stickied item guide => https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/41661-item-guide-v18-void-kissed/ is completely up to date So the TMs Dragon Claw, Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Fire Blast, Energy Ball, Volt Switch, Swords Dance, U-turn are unavailable in e18. The best TMs
  15. Edit: I've found a workaround for anyone else who has this problem. Continue up Valor Mountain to obtain the Magma Drift TM, then return to Kakori village and reenter the mountain door at the back of Crawli's gym. I've got this issue where I can't find Kyogre, Venam or anyone down in the Chamber of Awakening in Valor Mountain, where apparently I need to head down to save Amber. I've tried interacting with both stones in the cold environment, only get message "Only when the beast is defeated will the ones who awakened it be freed." Also tried visiting with older save files from before entering Valor Mountain for the first time, and going to the top of the mountain first (Venam goes off at you for leaving him). I did choose to give the Magma Stone to Cera, which it seems if you don't there's no issue trying to start the Kyogre event. I was wondering if anyone has been able to save Amber while giving away the stone, or if there's a workaround for this.
  16. You could say that you're flying through your mono run. I did a flying mono run and am kinda miffed I didn't use Jumpluff or Vivillon as they seem to work out really great for you with sleep powder, leech seed, quiver dance etc. I loved that there are so many options for an all flying team. Who's your MVP so far? And which fight are you dreading?
  17. Yep I see what you mean, Heather and Saphira have each had vastly different lives before moving into the orphanage, Heather with the terrible father that is Corey and Saphira with the full, loving family. And Saphira is way more violent then even not-saved Heather, so she definitely is holding on to some extra trauma than just the shock therapy, like not being able to save her sisters. Also same here about not playing for awhile, it starts to get difficult to remember specifics after a few months. I did enjoy reading your thoughts as it's awesome seeing what others think about the story.
  18. I just remember that if you choose to save her at the orphanage she reflects that she wasn't a good friend to Shelly after you smash her out, and if she isn't saved she's more like 'gotta be stronger so this never happens again'. Each path would've been a learning experience but she seemed so much like Saphira when you don't save her that I thought Saphira went through something similar.
  19. I imagine that Saphira had no-one to save her from Connal, and that's why she's so aggressive towards people who hurt her family, and when she's not angry she's... still not happy. If you choose to not fight Connal at the orphanage and leave Heather in his clutches she acts a lot like Saphira once you break her out of Blake's hut, so I think that Saphira had no-one there for her
  20. As Trufa said, Trick Room would work really good with your team. Bronzong learns it, and I've seen how oppressive it can be with Gyro Ball under Trick Room when it's holding an item that lowers it's speed (like a choice band) in the Factory/Short-Circuit field which you often fight Team Meteor in. Also check out using ability capsules to change the abilities of your current roster, as a lot of them have really good abilities that you're not currently using. Hidden abilities can be used too, they're just like a pokemon's third potential ability in Reborn. What's good about your main team is the resistances and immunities it has, you've picked a good typing spread in that regard. For pretty much every type... except Ground- these attacks hit three of your teammates super effectively and no-one resists them. Lastly I suggest that you remove HM moves like Rock Smash and Strength off your main fighters, as half of these moves are very underwhelming. I use a dedicated HM slave pokemon for these moves as I think there's only one location up to episode 18 that requires you to bring a HM mon into some tough fights. Surf, Dive and Fly, found later on are really good though and will be fine on fighters. Good luck with your playthrough! The game steps up the difficulty after a couple more gym leaders so you'll be in for a challenge that'll test your team andhow you play.
  21. There's an event you need to trigger before you can reach spectral Kiki. Do you remember that building in the wasteland with the zig-zag staircase? There's a sign in front of it that you need to interact with, it says Kiki Makael Argall or something with butchered lettering. It's the first building you walk through when leaving the city I think. After that the boulder should work as intended.
  22. Togedemaru >> Tyranitar lol. That Zing Zap is stronger than I give it credit for, juussst managing to ko the Tyranitar. Also damn that's lucky that Sucker Punch fails against Nature Power otherwise that could've got hairy.
  23. Nice! Magical seeds are really good on her field
