  2. slow-mo controls in an emulator would be tools that a player would not be able to use in a standard playthrough on a console. the PC is the console here, and the speedup is an established part of the game. while it may be the opposite of slow-mo, it's still a developer intended tool. if you, perhaps, doubled the effect of the speedup, that'd be an unintended feature. as for lowering speedup, if your PC is enough of a potato, normal areas will also lag. there's really not a lot we can do about that, and it'd frankly just add more tedium to the run.
  3. i don't see this qualifying as a TAS given that the player is still making inputs in real time. if speedup makes this run a TAS, text skip makes this run a TAS. other load intensive games go based on in-game time, but reborn's in-game timer doesn't account for differences in speedup. a possible (but somewhat unideal) solution would be to somehow incorporate a frame counter instead. frankly, if there are solutions we could implement, i wouldn't be opposed to including them in e19. speedrun password system or something.
  4. my concern with speedup is that it's incredibly dependent on the user's CPU power to function effectively, so people with older/worse computers would be at a disadvantage. obviously it's still worth using speedup, but that's probably something that's also worth keeping in mind.

      I'm watching other people play the game on YouTube. Definitely a slower experience, but it does give the guys more time to potentially think things through between battles, so hopefully there's a little less stupidity going on that there would be if I were playing it myself!

  6. hi nerd. welcome to the party. Yoshi's a good. i'm not competitive, but it used to be my go-to. as for the amplifield rock thing: if it doesn't do that, it should.

      it's so fucking good

      like, first they just kinda took all the best mechanics from all the FE games and kinda squished them together and it's easily the best FE game with regards to the actual gameplay
      but there's just so much good

      the soundtrack is incredible

      the characters have a lot of depth to them

      they got rid of all the stupid shit from the older games (hhhhh babyrealms)

      like i'm willing to put it in my top 5 games right now

      I felt pretty ambivalent about the game before release but I got quite; split routes had been done twice before in the series and neither one made me feel particularly hopeful about it this time. I'm not even halfway through by now but I already see myself replaying the game to get the other routes; it feels like this game does a lot of things specifically to fix complains people had about Fates.

       

      Only thing I feel they kinda dropped the ball on are the classes; the highest tier classes have a lot of awkward requirements or abrupt end points. Also gender-locked classes just should not exist anymore.

  14. The idea of the in-game password is that they're there for you to discover them. You'd have to then use them on a subsequent playthrough.
