  1. Reading a Touhou-4koma, when suddenly Pokemon reference

    Then another right after

It's not uncommon in 4koma (especially since they are always full of references/crossover jokes), but I always like them when I know the other series.

......apparently, I missed the first Pokemon joke of this 4koma series

  3. Still haven't started the next stage of Fantasy Maiden Wars, though all the pre-stage work (team choosing, item assigning, ect) is done.   I finally read the new translation, and just wanted to post screenshots of my favorite special quotes (of those that were included).............most they showed are humorous to some degree.  Only two are somewhat serious ones, though one isn't a special quote.

I really hope they actually release a translation patch after they are done, but their answer still seems a firm "Maybe".  Link to this stage's translation:  https://lpix.org/sslptest/index.php?id=150463

If you look at these and can't read one, just right click and open the image in a new tab.

One thing I've liked are the character comparisons between characters who have never interacted in canon, even if they are a bit of a stretch at times.  One is below, with Suwako seeing Shiki's determination to protect Makai (and all her children/creations in it) as a mother's love.

  4. Two somewhat connected little videos today. Somewhat meme-ish. Instrumental remixed versions of Sakuya and Flandre's themes.
  5. While I've never agreed with superhero logic, I do think it fits Vanilla's character well enough. I do wonder if that attitude will connect with her past tragedy. Like Awesome said above, I am enjoying how you are handling the alterations. Another excellent read.
  6. A new chapter of the translation LP posted at this time?  Well alright, I'm certainly not going to complain.  I guess subscribing to their Youtube was a good idea, even if most of the videos are unlisted.  At least they posted this subbed segment, which made me check and that Something Awful is still letting free users at least view stuff now.

@SilverHelio  Well, it started midway through the track here, but it's still the same

  7. I'm just repeating what I've heard, so thank you for clarifying. One of them has to work.
  8. Sorry, it seems the Lost and Found is where the old railnet entrance used to be. I just ran and checked, since I still have yet to do this one myself. @rokay90 Also, that silver ball in Devan Co. can now be obtained. Sorry for giving you incorrect info before
  9. Once you donate, they should all just pop up. I think the closest is that house across from the Pokemon daycare. Go there and start going to the other stations; one of them has the lost and found. I don't know which station it is at right now.
  10. You can do another one after beating the next leader (though you can put that off to the end of the ep to keep pace with the story). Presumably, we will be able to do the last one at the end of next episode
  11. There is still a way to get this sticker after coming back, just like if you missed the Lapis boy sticker. After beating Adrein, you will finally get to do the restoration projects in the Grand Hall that were mentioned earlier. Each has their own rewards, even varying slightly by what gang you joined. If you do the "Railnet renovation" project, a railnet is restored (which means you can no longer go through it), a bunch of hubs pop up over the city (fast travel), and a Lost and Found station is added to one (which gives you the sticker if you missed it, along with other items.) On the off chance you need a guide to the other stickers: Edit: I did not notice you were the one I posted the guide for yesterday. Oops @rokay90
  12. A cute little song and animation featuring the Scarlet sisters and a side of Sakuya. subbed
  13. I never fought in a battle while it was active, since I was only on to do some trading that day. I just saw that overworld animation near the Daycare center at the time. I could be mistaken as to what weather it was, but it seemed to match the same windy animation from video of Ep 15. This was during the Community release, so it might have been altered/tweaked for the public release. Sorry I couldn't exactly answer the question @GS BALL
  14. I've had it once in 17 and it seemed to just be visual gusts. It's still rare, but it's own visuals again (like in 15?) Edit: Somewhat ninja'd by the sweet treat @Candy (not to be confused with the confectionery, ICSW)
  15. I think the changelog mentioned that the weather was no longer a factor, since windy weather is rare (or something like that).
  16. I usually forget that Zoids has been in Super Robot Wars.  Then again, the only series that was in a decent game was Genesis, which I know nothing about.

Chaotic Century and New Century (which got English dubs back in the daywere in OE, but that was such a different game........and not in good ways usually.   Chaotic Century (which I remember better) got the better end, with its story/characters played straight, while New Century might as well not been in the game, since it didn't even include the Main Character and their mech, Liger Zero (only two side characters, in admittedly cool variations of the raptor-sniper mech).

  17. I think the Mega ring quest unlocks after you beat Titania, but my knowledge of this is only for the community release, not the public one. There are enough stickers now to get to floor 10. Here is he guide to get them all:
  18. I usually forget to nickname things or can't decide on one. These are the only two I've used more than once. Haunter/Gengar- Spooks- it's so stupidly generic that I love it. (mentioned this next one quite a few times, but one more time shouldn't hurt) Gardevoir- Granzon- named after the black-hole creating mech from the Super Robot Wars: Original Generation(s) series, matching up with Gardevoir's Pokedex lore
  19. I still remember buying some of these cards and watching the anime dub.  I know I tried to play the PS2 game that my friend had, but you can't pick up much in two hours.   I might try playing the game on emulator at some point in the future.

I see.  From what I remember of the English dub, it skirted the line of gag dub at times (like the Kanto season of Pokemon at times).   Never got into the game despite it seeming interesting.

I'm honestly surprised to hear how popular it is in Japan.  From the comments in the video, it seems it had the opposite effect of it's inspiration:  Magic is popular in the U.S. and not in Japan, while Duel Masters is popular in Japan but didn't catch on in the U.S.

  20. A darker imagination of Remilla and Flandre's pasts and fears for the future set to a lyrical (subbed) version of Remilla's theme (?). Minor blood warning
  21. I really miss this series......... No, though I do appreciate the humor (or at least what little I've watched). Edit: bonus--
  22. In the canon games, my very first start Pokemon, Charizard, from my very first run of Pokemon Red; he's now kept on my Crystal cartridge........which may or may not work (Schrodinger's cartridge essentially). Second place either goes to a Gengar, which became the only trade-evolution Pokemon I had prior to fan games/rom hacks (somewhere in the 90's on Crystal) and Dux the Farfetched, the in-game trade mon who I solo-ed the game with from past Lt. Surge until Pokemon mansion to the point it was in the 90's (deleted when I somehow got stuck in the mansion after a save). I have never grinded anything to level 100 in any other Pokemon game or fan game, except for Insurgence (which breaks the level cap).
  23. FMW Stage 70 complete.  We do a traditional RPG/TBS mission that somehow hasn't been in the last 69 stages: Making sure the enemy forces don't cross a marked boundary.   While it's kind of hit and miss in Super Robot Wars games, this one was actually fairly interesting.  Danmaku fields and their movement reducing properties are both maddening and challenging..........Hard mode really shifts those two feeling stage-to-stage, depending on what the goal is.

Thankfully, it is a fairly short mission if you are aiming for the skill point (have to defeat Meeko within 3 turns of reinforcements arriving on turn 3), since you will likely be burning through resources fast.   It's another mission with these morale-decreasing sheep.   While it is getting annoying, it is a genuinely good challenge, since morale determines a good bit in these games and doing effective damage at low morale can be difficult.

New damage record with Marisa, not including the +7,700 Full Power Mode attack from Alice:

The main highlight this chapter is the return of the Silent Sinner in Blue trio:  Moonbitch (Yorihime), her hax sister (Toyohime), and the second  Lockon "Rabbit" Reisen  (Rei'sen).    Along with obligatory map events to demonstrate the sister's powers, Rei'sen probably surprised most players, since the last game set it up where she could become playable but that was no guarantee.    I really want to read this version of their reunion with Erin, since it had the emotional music and everything........and probably the one smiling Yorihime face portrait we're getting.

YoriAlready posted enough about her during the Moon chapter in December(?).   I'll just put the "All attack" video.  I heard the animations were slightly redone.  Naturally, she's much less OP as a playable unit, but still powerful.

    Spoiler

Toyo- First the intro pic, then the "All Attack video, and finally her map event during the stage.  Fun fact, her MAP attack was based on the Ideon Gun MAP attack of the Ideon (notably, the SRW Alpha 3 version).  Apparently it had to be nerfed in early patches because it was too good for what it did; while it still has the scope of the Ideon Gun, it apparently lacks the power.

Rei'sen-  "Rabbit" from the third game given some training.  Her sprite almost entirely matches the Moon Rabbit mook sprites from the third game.  I found out after the stage that she even has both forms that the Moon Rabbits had, complete with different attack sets.

I have been searching for the better part of two/three months for an "All attack" video for Rei'sen.  I even tried searching Nicovideo to no avail.  I've only found two .Webms from an old thread from a random board back when the game first came out.......I honestly thought she just had two attacks until today.   So, my first Youtube video is of these two attacks.

Do you know if they've been uploaded somewhere @epicNecro.  I know the Translation LP will eventually link a copy of their own, but I'm just curious in the meantime.

The mystery of what I uploaded to Youtube: Solved

  24. Not really sure what to say about this one. I normally don't like rap, but I guess I can tolerate it much better when I can't understand the language, even when it has subs like this one (or if the rap is about something you don't expect to be a rap). The animation is more of flash animation.......or something along those lines quality wise. It's just a funny video of Patchi and Alice arguing through rap, with some Marisa interjections. Chosen on a whim mostly:
