Although I knew about IV's determining shiny-ness in Gen 2 (from watching too many Pokemon lists on Youtube), I never put together that it would make that possibly affect it back then. Thank you! Now I have to apologize to my old strategy guide for dissing it

Aside from being a popular rumor in Gen 2 (that may have been also 'rumored' in a semi-official strategy guide), it hasn't affected things in canon either (at least in the main games) that I remember

By the time I'm out of from the doctor's appointment, the internet will have already exploded from the Pokemon Direct. It's a bit more fun seeing the immediate reaction rather than seeing the echos a few hours later.

Just a normal once every three month visit..........with two more next week (though one is only 'once every 6 months').
.........all I can say is "it's interesting" for now. All the new Pokemon introduced were nice. I have mixed feelings about Dynamax, though it mostly stems from the fact it seems mandatory now for each new gen to have some gimmick while the past ones are abandoned. We don't know if this is going to be available for every mon (though it seems likely) so I guess it might be more inclusive than Megas, though I will likely always prefer the latter.

Still sad that Flygon never got it's planned canon mega, especially since they seemed to have veered away from Megas after Gen 6
(after giving Megas to many Pokemon that didn't need them)unless the pokemon direct hints at more in Gen 8. -
Ever since Red from my early days. Any game that has manual saving gets at least two rounds of saving, just in case.

I just like the make sure because of the weirdness of the Incense eggs. No problem and good luck with the rest! I haven't actually bothered with the quest so I don't know if there is a "rest" of the quest.

Finally trying Renegade Platinum again. After too many tries I finally beat the obstacle that partly dimished my interest the last time I played: actually beating Barry in the first battle using either Chimchar or Piplup. I never tried with Turtwig, but Pip and Chim could never get enough damage in until I finally just Growl-spammed the one time Turtwig didn't Withdraw-spam. That was the most annoying first battle of any Pokemon game I've played.
I know you don't have to win, but still.....

It's interesting to hear about the history of this nostalgic game (which the video reminded me is getting a remake soon).
Honestly, this is still the only Zelda game I've actually played myself, either because of lack of console or (currently) still not being good at controlling faster paced games on my laptop. Even with emulators, I'm used to either controllers or something I put my hands around.
