Arminius for his part was horrified with himself. Sure she had provoked him, and really he should have seen through it given it'd be the exact thing he'd do if it helped. But the stress of battle and anger at the pure tactical abortion Satomi had preformed really didn't leave him in a kind state. Which is why despite feeling the rising heat, Arminius hadn't even thought of moving off the samurai. Her turning all molten and firey however did get him to jump some, if only to try and get away from the heat near his vulnerables. It didn't end up helping much though as the woman made a grab for his face, which was enough to get his mind back in order. He'd set her on fire. He was burning her alive. And for all her flaws, that just wasn't something she deserved yet. So, thinking quickly, Arminius did the only thing he could think to do. He doubled down on pinning the Rokugani woman and grabbed her with both hands, ignoring the burning. Then, Arminius began sucking the essence he just infused into Satomi out.
-
Arminius crossed his arms. "You know what? Yes, yes I fucking am mad about it. I'd managed to get him to stop for the time being and I could have gotten him to leave at worst, or at best we could have had a new ally to repair our walls or haul lumber and stone or any number of things an ogre can help with! But lets put that aside and look at that FUCKING additude! We aren't on your world any more, you're going to have to contend with the fact that now we aren't going to get by just on being good at building shit! This is a full on war, not the half assed shit your used to. We're going to need building sure, but we need hands, and weapons, and armor, and basic resources more! We won't get those just from fighting! We need diplomacy and sabotage too! And you need to get off your fucking high horse before someone beats that smug additude out of you." Satomi probably didn't know it, but at that point the anger Arminius was feeling came entirely from his own concerns about his methods and what other people would think about them.
-
Arminius has just stood there for a few moments after the ogre had been unceremoniously killed in front of him. Admittedly, he didn't mind the killing very much, even if it did get a fair amount of blood on him, but it was the sheer disrespect for what he was doing and murder of someone that was for all intents and purposes out of the fight and likely to help later that really pissed him off. Which is why when he turned he was visually not happy at all. "Satomi what the fuck was that!? I could have convinced him to help us, but no you're fucking bloodlust clouded your mind apparently and you just murder the guy! You're smarter than this, you shouldn't need to be told not to kill things that are actively in a conversation with an ally!"

Rory glared at the crow girl for a second at that suggestion. Yes, she'll just jump straight up with her huge metal gun lance.... Oh wait, she'd have to thank Masako since that gave her an idea. She'll just jump straight up with her huge metal gun lance! Rory plants the blade of her weapon firmly in the ground before hopping onto the handle, the weapon extending out, bringing her off the ground some. Then she pulls the trigger, lighting off the dust in the chambers and launching into the air with a cheer. And after her ascension she stayed there, busying herself with reloading the spent ammo. Not like she didn't have a landing strategy.
-
Rory starts to scoff at the idea of ghosts. But stops herself last minute. Given the last little bit ghosts really aren't that strange. Also it's not like magic is that unthinkable in general, he has a semblance after all. This shouldn't be that strange. Finally she nods at Masako's question. "Yeah, assuming we don't run into trouble here, not something I'd bet on but it's still an option, it would be nice to know what the first threat we'll be facing is. Is there lightning sand? Fire spouts? Ooh, maybe rodents of usual size? I hope it's that last one, I like that one."
-
Rory raises an eyebrow at the Tengu's claims. "What do you mean, we're not in danger of dying? Are you saying they're just going to not try to kill us? Because if so our mysterious contractor has chosen kind of poorly for non-lethal options on my end at least. I mean, My Wrmystake Launcher is rated to penetrate any Grimm hide at range, let alone up close where I actually fight. As for the kid kicking my ass... That means nothing to me, and I would welcome the attempt if she wanted to try it." Rory by all accounts sounds completely genuine. Cocky Bitch.

Rory raises an eyebrow at the reveal of their guide. More specifically, at their apparent age. She covers her mouth for a moment in thought before speaking. "Forgive me if this seems obvious but... she looks... young. Are you, uh, sure she can handle this?" Rory looks at the little girl's guardians for a moment before shaking her head and turning to Chen. "I'm asking the wrong people. Are you sure you can handle this? If you turn tail and run because you aren't prepared you're going to be worse than useless you know."
-
Rory shakes her head at Masako. "Isn't a favor enough? ... Stupid question of course it wouldn't be. Hey, we're probably going to have to fight at least some of them. That means we have every right to take whatever they have on them. And if they typically solve incidents that require this level of assistance they're bound to have some good loot on them." Rory's eyes light up at the possibilities. Admittedly it wouldn't be as fun as carving her own loot off the bodies of her foes, but the loot itself should be more than worth it.
-
Rory sighed and nodded her head at the fox woman's reply. "Sorry, that's just the way I talk casually, especially when I'm upset, I'll try not to be as vulgar." She didn't say anything as they walked through the halls except when she saw the poster with the power armored man. "You guys have that movie here? Cool." Meeting with the one that called the group there Rory didn't say much, folding her arms and looking vaguely bored at the explanation. "Forgive me if I'm being presumptuous but I'm getting the feeling that by saying that you mean "You guys don't have a choice in the matter and I hope you succeed." rather than "I'm requesting you take care of this."... Either way, I'm in. I figure it's just going to be taking care of some small fry or it's going to be something worthy of my abilities the way I see it." He doesn't mention it but there's an unspoken "And hopefully if I do this I'm not going to stay a woman." in his statement. He was truly uncomfortable with this turn of events.
-
Rory closes his eyes for a moment as he tries to calm himself down. It doesn't work but he's able to avoid yelling for the time being. "My dick is gone and unless my clothes suddenly changed form I think I've grown breasts. That's what I mean." Looking at Rory one would note that his features, while still decidedly manish are more in line with those of a female. Rory's frame over all is more petite than it was, although that's only slightly, and his chest has grown somewhat significantly. Also his facial hair is gone as well, that's a big tip off. There's a brief pause before Rory looks up and smacks Masako in the thigh. "Oi, you get off. Seriously what's up with you and landing on me."
-
Rory had landed half on his feet, in the so called "Super Hero Landing". It of course would have been a bad idea for most people, but most people couldn't increase their toughness by slamming their shield into their head, and most people didn't rapidly heal from injuries because of a quirk with their soul. When gravity flipped again, he managed to flip with it, his smugness growing until the corvid he hadn't been paying attention to landed on him. With his pride appropriately tempered as far as he was concerned he stood with a sigh and started to walk as requested before he paused. Masako wasn't the only weight change Rory noticed, and with it other small details with the fit of his clothes also became apparent. This is what finally drew a question from him. "What the fuck happened to me!?"
-
Arminius sets his face in a determined glare. "Oh? And what are you doing exactly? Do you not think that we have friends and family as well? I don't blame you if you've only been ordered to fight here by higher ups, people don't have a choice in the matter a lot of the times. But right now you do, you can walk away and make it that much harder for support to be drummed up to waste hundreds of lives in suicidal offensives like this. One person doesn't seem like a lot but they can neuter a whole army. Hell, if you want you can live in the village, they won't ask for a whole lot and I'm sure they'll be happy to have the extra hands." Piglet continues having a good time, running over the last mages and Horde 3.
-
Piglet GTAs the Mage group and then reverses to do it again. Arminius talks to the Ogre. (Mythril Tongue) "Oi! Look around, your masters are almost dead! You can walk out of here without a problem if you wanted to, and live! But if you do stay and fight we'll just kill you like the rest. Don't be stupid and just leave!"
-
Rory nods. "Well, I'll see what I can rustle up for protein." With that Rory heads off to hunt down some meat. If anyone bothered to check the kitchen after Rory went to hunt down some rats. They would not that he isn't there at first glance nor were there any signs he was using the equipment. At least not until they looked at the corner on the same wall as the door, where he's sitting on a bucket, eating his apple with a blank expression..
-
Rory holds up his apple. "This. Might try to find a rat and make do if there's nothing else." Rory shrugs. He rather liked rat as a food. Rodents in general really. "Also, didn't know or expect there to be a kitchen here. I mean, the barracks it'd make sense, but this looks like a slightly nicer area, probably for guests."
-
Rory cuts up the orange with an almost comically large as he waits before handing it back to Hiroki in more manageable, sliced form. "Oh, I'm sure there's a kitchen. But it's going to be farther to walk to than I'm really willing to go just to slightly cook some fruit, and given this is an ancient piece of architecture it's going to be old enough that we'd just be cooking on a slightly safer fire anyway. So might as well doing something closer anyways."
-
Rory looks at the tablet for a bit before shrugging. "A day and a night doesn't sound like much admittedly. But out in the field, when you can get attacked at any moment, you don't have the luxury of eating any time you want. Or, to quote Chef, "YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU GOT A FULL TANK BEFORE YOU RUN WILD BROOOOTHER!", end quote." A modern person would probably note that the voice he used bore a resemblance to Hulk Hogan's.
-
Rory shakes his head as he walks in. His tongue flicks out in slight annoyance before he catches himself. Of course the human would think that he's clueless... After catching and scolding himself he speaks. "I got here a little while ago but your self proclaimed "Hellfire Knight" explained things to me. But the reason I'm here is because she did say you could help me with something." He folds his arms and cringes before bowing. "Please give me food, I haven't eaten all day and I'm getting really hungry."
