  1. Commander Slate mutters something to himself, you can catch a "every time with the damn questions" before he clears his throat and starts to speak again. "No, what you're dealing with in an infection that has to be injected directly to our knowledge. Good thing too because while we can probably modify it to get rid of the worst parts they'd really set us back fixing you up again. “As for resistance, the only enemies you should be looking out for would be the various infected, you'll tell them by the grey skin, lack of coherent response, and the fact that they'll be trying to murder you. They're stronger than the average humans, and some of them are much more mutated giving them unique abilities but you all should be able to deal with them easy enough once you get some weapons. “ “You can exfiltrate from pretty much anywhere that has open sky, and since you're in the middle of the facility the only thing you really need to do is go in one direction and you'll probably find the way out. It's a military facility so you should find some directions somewhere nearby. As for expectations, Lethal force is authorized for all hostiles," Airi feels as though some restriction was lifted. It's a weird feeling. "And if you find any survivors feel free to take them with you at your discretion. And like I said, feel free to steal anything you'd think is of use, this base was for a PMC before the whole outbreak so they probably have plenty of liquid assets we could use. “ “As for how the outbreak started... no clue, we got the job, found a safe area and then teleported you all in while you were out. Honestly, when I got started in this line of work my group didn't even know we were picked, so be grateful for that. And if there was a cure in this base Mr. Poncio, do you not think that we would have you fetch it as well? As for you miss Airi..." There's some shuffling of papers while he speaks. "Well, this applies to all of you, you should be able to instinctively control your abilities in most of your cases. In your case Airi, you're linked to your gun via some very advanced wireless sensors. These should let you know what's wrong if anything and fix it. As for how that works... you're in what's called a T-doll, your completely mechanical at the moment. In turn as you learn to use your body you'll reach peaks that a normal person can't, aiming instinctively and better, moving faster, that sort of thing. “As a heads up the weapons stash will have some tactical grenades for you to choose from. You'll understand the gist of how to use them like you do your gun and that should be more than enough for now. “ “Speaking of instinctive behaviors, Poncio, you have a "saint graph" inside your body, accessing it should give you access to the abilities of some legendary figure or another. We don't know who, those mages are shady at the best of times but I can assure you that you'll know what your strengths are. And hopefully from there you can figure out who's legend you're accessing with some research. “ “Mister or should I say Miss Danielle, you can most likely access your store of magic by trying to will it into existence, but you should also instinctively know some basic things like telekinesis. Other magics probably require training though. “ “And then Sokolov... Depends, when did you last get it checked? We only touched your mind. And as long as you don't broadcast a psychic signal that matches that of an entire galactic empire, you should be fine. If you do happen to do that... Well, I can't guarantee anything but I imagine it would be bad."
  2. The intercom crackles to life once again, almost as if in response to Antione's comment. "That "gene therapy shit" is worth more than all of you put together, so I'd put a little more faith in it if I were you. I swear people here are so fragile, can't even beat a little disease... Now, listen up because this is vital to your continued employment and survival. If you didn't get introduced to me when you were being lead to your various procedures, I am Commander Slate top brass of our little company. As you're well aware, when you signed that contract you also signed up for a 5 year stint working with Argos Corp working as mercs. And as you may have guessed by now, we aren't exactly what you'd call based in this world. We founded this PMC specifically to combat an invasion of threats from outside all realities called trespassers, thus our name, clever huh? You don't have to, and really shouldn't, worry about the details but rest assured every job you'll be doing is going to be related to that in someway. Which leads us to why you're there and I'm stuck in a damned office talking to you through a hacked intercom system. This is a little trial by fire, certainly nothing I'd be worried about... but you probably should the facility you're in was afflicted by a little... disease outbreak, normal stuff. We need you to find the original samples of the disease, then exfiltrate via one of our voidcraft that we'll be sending assuming you don't die. You'll find a cache of weapons within the next five or so rooms, that should have some standard knives and guns, but of course you're entitled to salvage anything you can get your grubby little mitts on. Now then, any questions?"
  3. Paul starts to shake his head before pausing and to think for a moment. Then after another second he seems to come to a decision as he gives a proper shake of his head. "No no, only writing I did was a hobby, and not very good I'd say. I was a pharmacy technician. We do quite a bit around the pharmacy, like fill the bottles, write down the actual prescription and the instructions, order stock, that kind of thing. Just basically everything that you need someone trusted for but is boring for the actual pharmacist to do, in essence. But, with only one arm... well I'm sure you can guess how that'd affect my efficiency."
  4. Paul shrugs. He crossed his arms before finally sighing. "I'd say that I think this is all just a really weird fever dream, but it obviously isn't. Other than that... I can't believe that I finally got my good arm back and I still can't use it to write. It's... kind of bullshit." The bearded man frowns at his new paw. Although it was obviously vexing, he did have to admit at least to himself that it certainly seemed far more powerful than his original hand. Like he could bend steel or something.
  5. The man with a dog leg on his arm nods at the assessment of the newly identified John. "Probably. I spent most of my time in the military doing pharmacy stuff but it wouldn't surprise me with what just PMCs can get away with these days. I'm Paul, by the way." Paul reaches his paw out to shake, before seeming to realize that's weird and switching to his left hand.
  6. Sokolov would find that he door isn't locked at all. And in fact it opens rather easily, if squeakily. Looking out into the hall he'd note that compared to the room they awoke in, it was much dirtier and dingier, with the halls sporting the occasional crack and seemingly random medical equipment laying out abandoned. An intercom above the door crackles to life. "Mr. Sokolov, while I admire your initiative I'd request you stay in the room until we confirm you're all awake and aware so that I may brief you." Some of you may remember the voice belonging to the one introduced as Commander Slate.
  7. The man with a paw stands as well approaching the rest of the group. "Somehow I don't think that we're hallucinating. Or at least, I feel like I could conjour better hallucinations than all of you. Yeah I was in the waiting room, although I didn't have a right arm at that moment... and you didn't have fox ears I don't think."
  8. The great actor would be greatly relived to note that nothing seems to be out of place.... Actually aside from a feeling that something has changed in him, it would seem that nothing has really changed at all. Meanwhile, across the room a young man sits up, a hand rubbing the sleep out of his eyes... Or rather a paw. A blue paw. If it wasn't for that everything would be normal about him. That said, he seems to realize this change after a moment, staring at the limb and flexing the muscles in equal parts amazement and confusion. Finally after a minute he utters the first thing to come to his mind at this reveal. "What the fuck...?"
  9. Today probably could be going better for most of you. Not that it was a bad day necessarily, by all means, this had been the chance of a lifetime. An ad for a company that could apparently fix any problem you had with your body, and they’d set you up with a job that would leave you with a decent chunk of change when your employment with them was over. It was a no brainer really. Of course, as one by one you were called out of the waiting room, a sense of dread started to overcome you. Maybe you shouldn’t have done this… but it was too late to turn back then. You picked one of the procedures, and then they got to work on you, putting you out to begin their procedures… That would be the last thing you remembered before you woke up. Looking around you apparently were still in the facility, except there wasn’t anyone there aside from other people you saw in the waiting room. Of course that would be if you weren’t in the middle of observing the results of your procedures. Whether that means amazement at how your body is now in working order, or horror at how they’ve changed you is up to you to decide though. OOC thread:
  10. Rory just kind of sits there, wondering how that mushrooms poison actually got past her aura. Weird.
  11. “Let me guess, it’s the same old song and dance. You used to be in the military, you got wounded in action, a nice medal, and then you were told to go fuck yourself right? That’s how a lot of people end up working in these things. But, this is really the chance of a lifetime. We’ll make sure you don’t need those rusty outdated cybernetics. We’ll make you whole again. All you have to do is sign up for our procedure and then do a tour of duty with us, no catch. What d’you say?” -Commander Slate In this game, players will take the role of Military Veterans, college dropouts, homeless vagabonds, or anyone who is desperate enough for cash or a better chance at life, who have agreed to sign up with a Paramilitary Corporation who claims they can restore and heal their bodies. In return for healing leaps and bounds above modern medicine, they will serve a tour of duty, traveling to other dimensions to pursue the interests of their new commanders. The catch, as there is always one, is that their methods, which are seemingly beyond conventional science... Might be. Mechanically, the game works on a simple D20 system. You roll a D20 and that determines if you succeed. Of course, these rolls don’t have to be unmodified. After you get your power(s) you get to use those to make [Keywords]. Keywords are listed under one of the four stats, and when you use it, it expends a point in that stat. In return, it modifies the roll to auto-succeed, Grant a bonus 50% to the roll, do nothing, give a 50% malus to the roll, or to auto-fail it. Players have a number of Hits, or Hit Points, equal to their stat total. They lose one HP when a successful attack occurs against them. After your character sheet is completed and the GMs are informed, we will go over it and, with our spooky powers of deduction, offer you a choice of four powers to choose from. Then you may arrange your stats and should you be dissatisfied with how your power level stacks up with the rest of the cast, we will provide extra gear from the Metal Gear setting to compensate. Character sheet: (Only the portion above the stats needs to be completed now.) Discord Link: https://discord.gg/wmVb5Py
  12. Rory, now that she's not busy herding cats, Fires a Wyrmstake at the mushroom. (Incidentally, this also shoots the faunus backwards about a foot before she returns to her previous position.)
  13. Aquila gestures to the stab shaped hole in his armor. "I'm well acquainted with her blade... Uh, I don't think I know your name." The viking raises his hand in greeting. "I'm Aquila."
  14. "Oi, calm down! And hold your breath we're going over the spores again." Rory idly pets the angry cat girl as she floats back up above the spore cover. She wouldn't say it out loud but for some reason she always thought that cats biting and scratching her tickled. And the cute kitten doing it wasn't really any different... Rory shakes their head at that thought. She should really get out before she was definitely high. Rise up and return to the rest of the group with Chen.
  15. Aquila considers the question for a few moments before shrugging. "I originally meant the assassin yes, but now that you mention it I would have liked to fight both. Seems like the last one would have been a good fight at least."
  16. Meanwhile, Arminius was continuing to run through the forest. He wasn't sure if he was still being followed, but better safe than sorry. After a few minutes of this he would stop at a clearing and start climbing up a tree. No one ever looks up after all. Once he was up and fairly sure no one was following that could hear him tend to himself, he started cutting away the burned clothes around his new wounds, as well as taking off his shirt. Each piece of cloth and clothes removed would be tied around a branch to ensure they wouldn't fall and reveal his location before finally he channeled the ice slime essence he had into his hands, rubbing the cold liquid like gel onto his wounds, hoping to take the edge off the burns.
  17. Getting an assist from the large green one (an orc? Pretty sure it's an orc.) Arminius is quick to try and kick the flaming Satomi off of him. If that works he'd continue to run for the woods as he could at least hide there.
  18. Aquila took off his helmet and tucked it under his arm. The now sweaty viking took a few moments to calm himself down before responding to Harry. "Well, I feel like I probably could have done more, but three kills isn't bad by any stretch. I just wish I could have given that one teleporting one a good smack."
  19. Continue the chase. "Chen! Come on, we're going to lose the others at this rate!"
  20. Rory was feeling rather good. Not a great sign, he never enjoyed himself that much when he was just hunting for something rather than taking down his prey. Still, he needed to get Chen first. "Hey kid! Get back here, these spores are going to get you so messed up you won't know up from down and I'm not about to let you get hurt on my watch!"
  21. Rory grumbled for a second when the cat guide dived below the fog, but seeing as she was mighty small and a kid besides... Rory takes a deep breath and dives down to search for Chen. Rory skill set.
  22. Arminius for his part didn't know how to respond to the new problem. So he quickly got up and started running for the woods, just like old times.
