  1. Arminius stared after Calvera until she was out of view. Then he covered his face and sighed hard enough that one would worry that he was going to turn his lungs inside out. That hadn't gone to plan in any capacity that he would have hoped. He did really like Calvera, but... he was him. As much as he was loathe to admit it, Kusuke and Satomi were pretty right. He was terrible. And the only thing he really had going for him was doing what he did well, he couldn't risk losing that by getting distracted from their mission right? He was wrong of course but he didn't acknowledge that fact, or the fact that he had seen how working with someone you love improves your performance first hand. Because that would have made what he just did hurt a lot more, accident or no.
  2. Arminius gave her a curious look when she said she had something to ask him, which turned to a frown at the shift in topic. He glanced at the child, feeling slightly awkward but figuring there was no harm in talking about this in front of them. "I... I'll be honest, I like you as well but I'd doing you a disservice if I said we should pursue a relationship. If only because you should get out and interact more with other people before that. I mean, you should interact with other people more since just clinging to me isn't really healthy you know? And if we did go further I'm worried you'd regret it later." Arminius didn't know if he was making much sense but hopefully Calvera would understand.
  3. Conway nods at the man. "Close enough anyway. So we already have a base I take it? Good that'll save me time." Conway is quick to walk off and get a feel for what equipment is already down. He'd need to set up the basics it'd look like, given they didn't seem to have them, not even chests for storage...
  4. Arminius smiles at Calvera's enthusiasm. "Oh? Then I suppose we should just leave them all to you then?"
  5. Rory attacks Marisa with her gunlance. Dodgy little bitch probably would duck out of the way but whatever.
  6. Arminius, hoping to not get confronted by the paladin, and also figuring that he can't outrun a bullet anyway, decides to just quickly and casually follow after the child and star. It's a good thing he's gotten used to acting casual when he's actually quite nervous, otherwise Rachel might realize he's scared of her. Paladins love having people fear them, and Arminius hated anything paladins loved. (He didn't but he liked to tell himself that.)
  7. Looking inside the closet there's a fairly normal assortment of cleaning supplies... but a sparkle quickly catches John's eye behind some off brand windex. Moving the bottle aside he finds a small pile of diamonds, about 5 of them in total. As the minute hand slides into place at the thirty second mark, a small click can be heard before a rumbling sound is heard, and the wall under the clock opens up slowly... revealing that a female zombie in a hoodie, with blood around it's empty eye sockets, and claws had somehow gotten into the supply cache! Initiative:
  8. Paul pats his pockets before shrugging. "I don't think any of us has batteries. But going off my watch it's like 7:30, why don't you put it in now and then we can get batteries later?"
  9. Edward swings at the zombie's head (8 vs 7) and with a resounding crack smashes it back into a wall, leaving a bloody mark before the former corpse is returned to being a corpse. Combat over. Paul walks into the riddle room, giving the riddle a look before shrugging and walking back out.
  10. Arminius frowns in thought. That was actually a really good question in this case, but he shouldn't say that. He takes a moment to glance back at Rachel before deciding that being casual about this would be least likely to get blasted by her. Besides, there was a kid here, she wouldn't risk traumatizing a kid right? "In a way, he is dead yes. At least his body is. But... hm, you know how he was just talking about souls then? He is right, everyone has a soul which is the essence of what you are. And currently I have his. So while yes his body is no longer living, he's not actually dead. We just need a suitable body for his soul." Arminius didn't mention the fact that Flowey's "Soul" was rather incomplete if it was actually a soul at all rather than just some particularly stuck together essence.
  11. Captain Frost also went towards the lab, almost immediately beginning to look through anything closed for objects of worth or interest. Assuming there wasn't anything stored away, he'd move on to the loader, stabbing it with his sword for good measure before taking the gun and looking it over.
  12. Arminius stands himself up and brushes off while Sindragosa looks aside and spits, leaving a small burning puddle where the liquid lands. "Well, two things of note didn't happen the way I expected. Firstly, I thought that it'd try to absorb my soul, but as I have counter measures against such things I thought it'd be fine. Really didn't expect the whole, normal magic and squeezing me thing. Second, I have discerned that that... thing, doesn't have a soul to begin with. Now, I don't think I need to explain this to you, but nothing that seems that obviously intelligent should have some form of soul. I'm not sure what to think about that, but... that's probably not a good thing."
  13. A rather thuggish looking man looks around for a few moments, obviously confused before taking a seat. An obviously robotic looking woman stands behind him, holding a bow and looking serious. The man leans back in his seat before speaking. "I'll get right to what's relevant to me then, Mister Fowl. My name is Conway Turlough, the robot behind me is Artemis, and I expect that you would know that my specialty is setting up bases with a focus on manufacturing, if he have similar levels of knowledge on what's going on. But that's beside the point, there should be another here, a girl specifically. Looks young, carries around a rather large gun? The teleportation device shouldn't have taken us to different areas I don't think and I'll be very... distraught, if something has happened to her."
  14. DVS shakes his head at the other two. "C'mon are you stupid? It doesn't take a genius to realize that the big red thing there is a magic wall. And judging by the torches, we need to go into each of the rooms and do something. And if I know anything about demon architects, and I don't, that something is probably fight a bunch of demons. Because they're rude like that." With that, DVS approaches the first torch marked door on the path, since it's closest.
  15. John steps forward to stab the zombie through the chest mightily (1+100% vs 15 -50%) but his new found speed and strength, in addition to the zombie's unpredictable movements cause him to miss spectacularly. The newly made T-doll is quick to follow up though, firing a shot at the zombie's chest. (4+50% vs 8-50%) and hitting it with a good thump. Meanwhile, there's much scrambling to move around, starting with Edward, (nat 1) who stumbles straight into the zombie in a frankly uninspiring display. One gets the feeling that the only thing stopping him from stumbling right past is the incompetence of the other party involved. This does however allow the others to get away safely. Unfortunately, the Zombie tries to grab Edward while he's nearby (8 vs 18) but the man mangages to push the zombie off with no further complications. Initiative Meanwhile, Poncio explores the new room. There isn't much of note that he didn't see before aside from a clock on the wall and graffiti on the wall that reads: They often have it on the streets And on many subway seats Maybe you may have it too It is on-hand, to give a clue If you have it, give it here Speak it aloud, so I may hear And if you don't, you need it fast Ask before the time has past.
  16. Arminius struggles in the grasp of the plant for a moment before stopping. "Can't say this is exactly what I expected... But this still works out for me." With that, the runes on Arminius' body start glowing as his magics begin to suck at the soul of the flower. Sindragosa meanwhile looks rather bored as her throat starts to turn a minor shade of red.
  17. With all the probable causes of complications not related to demons taken care of, DVS gives Markus a short salute. "Alright, guess I'm off then. Hey, feel free to check into the stream if you want to check up on our progress without sending people into the dangerous demon filled tower, yeah?" Markus wouldn't really have any time to respond as the demon hunter was already walking off, drone in his hands as he gets to starting it up.
  18. Arminius motions for the two with him to stay. He didn't suspect that the flower would try something physical after mentioning souls so prominently. The type to accost random strangers loves irony, and it'd be much more ironic to do the opposite of strengthening someone's soul in this case. After making sure the two women were staying, Arminius and Sindragosa approached with arms out, the former kind of cringing at going along with this and the latter... well, the latter just kind of looked bored.
  19. James gave the druggie a look that was one part insulted, five parts confused. He had no idea what he had done to deserve that reaction. He was pretty sure he'd never seen her before, and she certainly didn't look like anyone at the local wrestling matches. Eventually, he had to conclude that Ms. "Anyone want some coke?" knew of his online career and didn't realize that the persona he portrayed was all an act. "Okay, I'm going to pull back the curtain here while the camera isn't rolling, but you do know this is just an act right? I mean, the fighting with demons stuff is real, but shit I'm not even a doctor. I just bought this stuff at Samsmart. Anyone can do it."
  20. Arminius raises an eyebrow at the flower. This was odd admittedly, but plant based monsters acting as sentries watching for lost travelers and such did make sense, given their relatively low needs for day to day life. "Yeah, some explanation would be great, thank you."
  21. Arminius pinches the bridge of his nose. "Yes, but look at yourself. You're loud and stompy. I'm quiet and sneaky. If you go first everyone within a mile will know we're here. If I go first, we might not have to deal with hostiles at all because they won't know we're here."
  22. DVS shakes his head at the offer. "No thanks. Trying to cut down." Besides, that would go terribly on stream. Well, fighting demons while coked out would probably go amazingly well but he'd probably be banned if he did coke on stream. Demon hunting didn't pay nearly well enough to get rid of that revenue stream.
  23. A man in a lab coat and scrub pants (possibly full scrubs, but you can't quite tell.) walks up slightly after everyone else, having been busy asking a passing soldier if his hair was done up right. (It was, of course.) If anyone was up to date on weird niche streamers, they'd likely recognize the face of a mister James Stone, better known by his stage name of DVS. A Demon Hunter that supplements his income by streaming jobs and preforming in professional wrestling matches in character as DVS a half-demon and pharmacist. Those looking carefully would see his camera drone in his coat as he nods in greeting to the gathered hunters. "Hm, it's a good thing you called, looks like you need 100 CCs of ass kicking, stat."
  24. Jack shakes his head as he also approaches the complex. "No no, it's missing a sort of elegance that a properly planed base should have. Look at all that, it's too messy to even be chaos borne of temporary measures becoming permanent or multiple styles mashing together into one like a pirate town. It's just random shit thrown up for the sake of it. Terrible is what it is."
  25. Sokolov, following the finger, would note that it leads straight to the door that isn't a supply closet. Spook and Poncio helpfully open the door for him revealing that the next room has some piled furniture to the right of the entrance, but is oddly barren and clean. If Sokolov bothered to look at the far wall he'd note a clock, though it would seem the batteries have run out since it's not moving. Danielle however has a much more interesting surprise waiting for her. (6 vs 5&10) a corpse lurches out from the closet, nearly falling onto the small horse. Thankfully, Edward had been more than prepared for this eventuality and with a meaty thwak and the reverberation of hollow metal it's knocked back towards the closet and into a safer distance. The party has encountered a zombie! Initiative
