That aside I disaggree with this. As an IT guy I constantly take from others. I take their techniques, their mistakes, the solutions,... and meld them with my own knowledge, mistakes, solutions,... to create an improved product while expanding my competences.
Do you think that art is any different? Does the first painter get the right to be the only painter? The concept that ideas can be owned is quite ridicolous and to be honest very arrogant.
They say art is eternal but only because it is passed on.

This is the story of a Pokemon Trainer. This child lives at home and is there every day. What the child does is simple: they eat, they play games, and they sleep. This is what that child did every day of every month of every year, and although some may think it to be boring, the child loved every moment of their life, as though this is the only thing that they were meant to do. And then one day, something very different happened. Something that would forever change the child; something they would never forget. They had been lying in bed one morning when they realized that something was different about today. This feeling was almost indescribable; after all, they are only 10. What kind of a 1- that’s it! It’s the child’s tenth birthday. The day where they must leave home and become a Pokemon Trainer. Astonished, the to-be Trainer found themself unable to move for the longest time. But as they came to their wits and regained their senses, they got out of bed and walked out of their house.

Yeah, that's the case. Because no player data is stored on the physical copy of the game, sharing your physical copy with someone just allows them to play the game like if they had gone to the store and bought the copy on their own.
