  1. Since you're already using Togedemaru, may I add that Sturdy Toge with Amplifield Rock + ETerrain/Zing Zap was my go-to for the majority of my run, max atk/speed. It could deal good damage with terrain boosted ZZ, and reliably crippled any team that relied too much on their field. In general it looks like your team is only set up so it can run some support and maybe win some 1v1s with type advantage, but if you're running a lot of purely offensive mons, you need at least one pivot too (or fodder, at the very least). Ghost or dark especially if it's Pory giving you trouble, you can literally abuse the AI to get free switch-ins on immunity alone.
  2. The Torkoal-Hot Chair cutscene at the beginning of the game. Honestly though, imagine looking at the entirety of Reborn, the Corey and Taka bits particularly, and thinking that scene of all things would be removed for being "too disturbing" and part of some censorship scheme instead of, y'know, because the devs just didn't want it in the game.
  3. EDIT: This is only with regards to the colored books you're talking about, but their significance is at the end of a pretty long quest chain that starts with finding a Dive item in one of the sunken apartments.
  4. FWIW, there was also a password that would enable you to get Aevian Missy in the Nuzleaf area of Rhodocrine Jungle, but AFAIK that has been long since expunged from the passwords document and I don't remember what it was.
  5. I personally had a staple weather controller and terrain controller on my team since gym 12, if not earlier- namely Snow Warning A!Ninetales and Sturdy Togedemaru, but anything that can take a hit or pop a Terrain before it goes down is worth keeping around. It's not as permanent as burning the whole field, but Togedemaru Electric Terrain with an Amplifield Rock can at least negate the field long enough to cripple the enemy (which can apply to all of the E4 fields, giving it much-needed flexibility), and Ninetales can get rid of the pesky rain so the garden doesn't advance automatically when the terrain drops (and also so your fire type moves don't get an attack cut). Bonus points that, specifically in the Bennet/Laura fight, it's not targeted first turn and is able to put up an Aurora Veil to help too.
  6. Reshiram and Zekrom routes are based completely solely on whether you fight Taka in the WTC or not. Yes for Zekrom, no for Reshiram. There are no other choices required for this route split. "Anna Route" is a Reshiram-based route/extra content that you only get by fulfilling the very specific criteria that other people in the thread have outlined.
  7. I personally......don't like that this was said at all and am highly disappointed with it even if (or perhaps especially because) it came from Ame's mouth herself, because-
  8. You're allowed to make arguments and have opinions at any stage in your playthrough and that's valid, but the fact is that you barely scratched the surface- no, you haven't even done that in terms of who the MC actually is. Your assertion is that the MC acts as both a character and a blank slate at times, and to that I say (vague late game spoilers)- Without spoiling anything out here, where you are is absolutely early to be discussing the MC in full depth, and I would hold off until you're caught up because V13 flips everything on its head. Whether that's in a good way or a bad way, you really should reserve your judgment until you know the true nature of the character you're playing.
  9. Somebody else already addressed everything else in your post, but you couldn't be more off the mark here. Sleep and Freeze were removed because guaranteed missed-turn moves are absolutely broken in PLA's ATB-like format (not to mention they were already pretty disliked/abused in VGC to begin with). If you miss one turn, that's your opponent getting up to two free shots on you depending on their speed and move styles, instead of just the one as per usual in 1-to-1 turn based like traditional pokemon. Sleep is less insidious because it would have a 3-turn (6-move) max, but Freeze doesn't have a guaranteed thaw turn, and on top of that its thaw rate is even lower than Sleep's wake rate (20% for Freeze and 33% for Sleep IIRC). And now my own opinion on the matter: while I agree that this still isn't an issue in a traditional pokemon fangame, I still think that Frostbite should replace Freeze, because that's a shift in usage from "sleep but less reliable and more obtusely broken when it hits" to "burn but it cripples special types", which is a whole niche that hasn't existed yet that, frankly, really should.
  10. A new Team Meteor member? And they're magician-themed???? They/Them enbies stay winning <3
  11. I have nothing witty to say, but TFW you're going through your Death Note phase again and suddenly Cloister Black is showing up everywhere. Thanks, Ame.
  12. Looks at V12 file and sighs. Here we go again. Which I guess isn't a bad thing, it's been a while since I played the whole thing and could probably use a refresher on the early game plot, haha. Thanks for giving us a heads up, at least! > no discernable reason I mean, it's a common quote in English and has an entire ass song, so......
  13. oh no he's hot (I'm super looking forward to seeing what else this temple has in store for us!)
  14. Trying (and probably failing) to be blunt but hopefully not rude: A. We don't know, and probably never will. B. It should not (and does not) matter, because in the end xe is still nonbinary regardless. C. There are many people who are born under the binary but don't identify in the binary (hi yes hello), so assuming those are the only three options is incorrect and also rude. D. Don't equate somebody's gender identity to their, uh, "mating" capabilities, that's also incorrect and rude.
  15. A THIEF, REBORN Or, Kaito is an Idiot and Here's Why Well, here's a concept I've tried (several times) but never really cataloged, but here I am doing it now. If you've ever heard of that one unknown, totally vague, unpopular, never heard of manga series known as Detective Conan (that was a joke, by the way), then you may have heard about its less popular, older yet shorter counterpart known as Magic Kaito, about the phantom thief known as Kaitou KID. If you have, then this will be something like an IC playthrough/fanfic through the eyes of the gentleman thief Kaitou KID- or rather, his civilian counterpart Kaito Kuroba. Of course, there's some things changed since he doesn't exactly exist in the Pokemon universe, but the basics stay the same. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, then don't worry and just treat this like a normal themed playthrough because everything you need to know will be explained within this prologue! In fact, if you really want to, you can just treat him like a regular OC player character (but if you don't want to and instead want to look up his source material, be my guest). For now, those twelve shown are going to be the rotation 'mon, with one change: if y'all are interested in my playthrough, I want y'all to pick one 'mon for me to kick from the Squad. Whether they suck and you want to make it easier for me, they're good and you want to make it harder for me, or for whatever reason you just want to see what the playthrough is like without that particular Pokemon on the team, now's your chance to speak up or forever hold your peace. That will also bring the rotation down from 12 to 11- and be plot relevant! That Pokemon will become unusable and, for plot purposes, completely gone from the team for the foreseeable future, unless something drastic happens. If there's no preference from y'all, I'll just RNG it. (Also, if this thread gets enough participation, that may not be the last time I ask you guys to decide something for me- after all, I sure do love screwing myself over.) Other than that, if you have any comments/critiques, I'd love to hear them! Sidenotes/Credits: Pokemon generated with the Pokemon Reborn Sandbox Mode available in the Mod Market. 16. 9/10 those bois look so peaceful it's calming to look at
  17. So I've applied quick patches 1 and 2, but the guy still spits me out in the cave on Route 2. Do I have to restart the game from scratch, are the patches bad, or is there just flat out something wrong on my end? (attached my game data just in case) EDIT: yep, had to restart the game. It's all good now, though. Looks great!
  18. ignoring that argument up there, both of these are seconded. Ribombee is a special attacking monster, especially with Quiver Dance. It might not be the best setup, but I personally enjoy going Big Root, setting up with QD and then hitting enemies with Draining Kiss and Leech Life for massive healing boosts. For the last move slot, I tend to stick with Pollen Puff for double battle shenanigans. Meanwhile, Midday Lycanroc (my personal fav) is pretty frail but, like Jess said, has Accelerock, which can definitely come in handy, and it's a speed demon anyways. Unfortunately, it's more of a glass cannon than its other form. Midnight Lycanroc is a little tankier and doesn't have Accelerock, but if you want something with more survivability (and since you like Vikavolt, it seems plausible), then you might want to go with that instead.
  19. I don't. I'm not a console person, and I don't have a joystick, either.
  20. As hype as I was (still am) for v9, between v8 and v9, my laptop faced a little.....incident, and the down arrow is broken. Kaput. No longer works. Obviously, that's an issue. I don't really know if this is the right place for it, but does anybody know if it's possible to swap out the arrow keys for WASD or something? F1 doesn't really give an option for direction keys, only the AB/XY replacements.
  21. Is there a place to buy Blast Powder after I hook the guy up with a job, or do I just have to bring out my pickup party and hope for the best?
  22. And those are.....? Gyarados is unavailable as of right now (and might not be available in E17, either), Octillery's decent but Flamethrower and Fire Blast are non-STAB and that's if it doesn't get OHKO'd because its speed stat is absolute garbage, and the only other thing I can think of is HP Fire which would be handy but (IMO) a pain to breed onto a water 'mon if it's just going to be used for one field/type. Am I forgetting any? Anyways, if you're going to use water types on this field, the only thing I can think of just by glancing at the field effects is to hit with ice-type moves; I'm personally a fan of Masquerain, using specifically Quiver Dance/Ice Beam (or Blizzard if you're willing to slap a Wide Lens on that bad boy) and Infestation (or Bug Buzz) as a backup plan, especially in the higher field stages.
  23. Dunno if there's an E16 troubleshooting thread yet, but I'm getting a fatal error whenever I try to soft reset? Look at me, forgetting an entire troubleshooting subforum exists. Besides that, though, E16 was well worth the wait; my inner open-world gamer sighed happily when I saw how much had changed.
  24. I'd actually have to say that it'd be too much for a game that's already as big as Reborn. Fun to speculate about, sure, but when you've already got PULSE mons to worry about, the field effect system, and a plot the size of Fern's ego, I don't think I personally would be able to handle more type-swaps than the ones already introduced in Sun/Moon.
