  1. Harry followed Soma to a Good Will on the way to Fugly Bob's. Upon entering, they were greeted--if that was even the correct word--by the woman at the counter. They made their way into the store, and Harry wandered off to browse a bit before searching for clothes. He only spent a few minutes at it before taking a look at a book claiming to teach magic. It wasn't anything that could be mistaken for what party members did, simply some type of vague spirituality nonsense. Harry tossed it back on the shelf, and made his way over to the clothes section. He grabbed a belt, two pairs of plain pants, 2 t-shirts, and the same number of pairs of socks and underwear. Shouldn't be too pricey. He headed into a small closet to try them on.
  2. When Harry noticed Satomi walking towards them, finger stuck in her mouth, he reached the proper conclusion rapidly. "Alright, just a moment." He stepped over to the docks, and took a cupful of water. He then pulled a few choice items from his kit out of his bag, and took her hand. First he doused it in some water from the bay. Obviously not sanitary of course, but this was just to get the blood away. Then he liberally applied disinfectant, which probably stung mildly. Working quickly, Harry then applied a clear viscous liquid from a tube, which hardened somewhat into a pale foam. "Don't pick at that. For the next minute or so, it'll be delicate, but then it should be hard enough to withstand some abuse. It's porous agent, and will be degraded as your body heals. Shouldn't take more than an hour before it's gone completely." Harry stared at her sternly. "You do know proper knife safety, I hope. Don't cut towards yourself, hold the handle and not the blade, no juggling? I don't want to have to supervise you every time you draw that sword." Harry looked down at the bloody knife, before wiping it on the edge of his shirt. "Shouldn't be rusty, so I wouldn't worry about tetanus. . . We definitely need to get you vaccinated though. It's a simple thing, by the way. Basically, I'm going to at some point either have myself or the PRT give you a few injections with a needle to prevent you from catching a disease and dying. You good with that?"
  3. Edmond: So, the identities, and the nature of the servants. No one else had offered much on the subject, so Edmond spoke up. "So, LOTUS, the identities of the other servants are thus: Jeanne d'Arc as Saber, and King Arthur as Lancer, and Gilgamesh as Caster. Jeanne's going to have lots of fire and is set up in a burnt village not far from here, Arthur has a divine or cursed spear that apparently blew up someone it touched and is sitting in a field in the direction of the mines that Caster is camped on top of, though I didn't get much else on Caster. Except not to trust him. Cu considered him to be the greatest threat of the three." He paused a moment. "We also got some confirmation. It's some sort of mud from the grail that's corrupted the Servants. They don't have full control of themselves, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to break that hold until they're at the point of death. I'm sorry, I didn't get anything else." Edmond finished, watching LOTUS carefully to see how he responded. "As far as teams go, mine worked quite well. Silef was a turning point, but every single person contributed well, and we weren't suffering from any lack that I could see." Liliya: Liliya watched as Samantha walked away without a word, a little bit peeved. However, that did change a bit when Liliya saw her almost receive practically the same treatment from others. She followed, considering that her own method of address had been vague, and might not have been heard. "Sam! How'd the battle go for you?" Hopefully she'd be able to get in on the conversation, and perhaps make some connections with the new group.
  4. "Oh, sorry. I forgot to mention how the little bugger came to be. Some of the others stopped a 'drug' deal earlier, and wound up with a load of white powder. I thought I'd investigate, try to figure out what it was, in case we had to either hand it over, or hide it. I put a pinch in water to test the solubility, and that thing. . . happened. Glad to see you've got it under control." Harry stared down into the hole, feeling the heat radiate upwards. "So, your power, does it conserve mass then? Since you know, it took a huge chunk out of the pavement, and turned it into something somewhere else? I kind of expected magic would ignore the conservation law type things, and you'd just be able to make stuff vanish."
  5. "No, I think we've got it under control. The thing is currently sitting in a small asphalt pit. Rather surprised by the amount of heat it put out though. It's the size of a small fingernail, and it lit some asphalt on fire that we're currently dealing with, along with one of our people, but she has been successfully extinguished. Not sure where all the energy is coming from, but I suppose most parahuman powers get mysterious energy so. . .who knows. Anyway, thought you'd like to know, and I don't think we need a fire brigade. Thanks for the offer." Harry shut off the earpiece, and turned to Lucille. "Nicely done. Do we kill it now? I honestly don't know how much longer it's going to burn." Harry sighed, glancing at his watch, and then looking around in exasperation. He continued addressing Lucille. "I was meaning to mention this to Frigus, but he's apparently gone now. . . The PRT is sending a truck over to collect the rest of the powder that created this thing. I've got a meeting that I'm bringing Soma and Jun to, so can you do me a favor, and just be around here until the truck arrives? People seem to have been disappearing left and right without a word to anyone. Wonderful policy, really makes the team work like a well oiled machine!. . . Anyway, the wait shouldn't be more than an hour."
  6. Harry poured out the water from the glass onto the creature, in the side closer to the warehouse, hoping to deter it from heading that way. "Nicely done, Lilly. Least we know what it does now though. Someone try to find some sort to throw on it." Harry flipped back on the earpiece that he had been intending to put away. "Dragon, just so your prepared, the creatures that this powder makes spew a lot napalm like substance when removed from water. So make sure to take adequate precautions."
  7. "Alright, that's perfectly fine. Could you possibly make sure that the drone doesn't get here until after five? I've got stuff to do, and so do the other people I'd trust to properly take care of a check." Harry stared at the creature. "Just remember Lilly, this was a black market transaction, and is a cape created thing. If you're going to plant him, make sure it's in a small pot, separated from other dirt. Keep a strict eye on it, and stay a few feet back if you can."
  8. In response to Dragon's brief response, Harry said, "Do you have an ETA for that? And there's also the question of compensation, since I believe that was mentioned in the papers we signed. Is that some prearranged amount, or doe it scale depending on the danger/quantity of the item in question?" Harry watched Lilly quizzically as he spoke through the earpiece, but she seemed engaged in her own conversation. It would be interesting to see whether she came up with something.
  9. "Yes. Try to figure out if anything interests it. Food or something. Has to have a purpose, probably a built in instinct that Blasto gave it to make it useful. And yeah, I think I'll call the PRT in. I'd perform tests on it, but I've never seen anything quite like this, and I don't have the necessary equipment. This was supposed to be a drug shipment, right?" Harry turned on the earpiece, and listened for a moment. A recording, with options to continue from there. He selected the one that seemed likely to put him in contact with Dragon. "Hey, Dragon. Harry here. Wanted to tell you that we intercepted a drug transaction being carried out by the merchants. It's a powder made by Blasto meant for New York City. A bit of investigation show they're eggs or spores, and grow into some type of small creature in water. There are a bunch of uses for that type of thing, quite a few of them dangerous. You want to send some people over to pick this stuff up, and take it back for analysis? We've got three wooden pallets with sacks of the stuff on top of them."
  10. "Getting anything?" Harry directed the question at Lilly, before turning back to Soma. "You fine with having the PRT come pick it up, since they probably know where your warehouse is anyway? Might be a good bit of cash to stock up before we get offworld. If so, I can call Dragon." Harry waited for a response as he shuffled in his backpack, pulling out the earpiece that had been given to him.
  11. Edmond: As soon as they had arrived back via Magnum's bus, Edmond had followed Gozer with his own set of loot, dropping it off somewhere that the humans of the castle could make use of it. Following that, he sought out Isobel and LOTUS, and waited patiently for an opportunity to speak with them. Liliya: She didn't entirely know what to do following the battle. The new group that had appeared already seemed to know each other quite well, which made getting to know anyone in it much more difficult. So she had remained silent for most of the journey back to the castle. When they arrived in the courtyard, she stood around for a few minutes, before making her way over to Samantha. "How'd your battle go?"
  12. "I see. Something we should tell the PRT about? It's probably not something we want getting out of hand, or them finding in your warehouse or something. Though, you might want to keep the warehouse a secret or something?" Harry was honestly entirely uncertain how to address this.
  13. As Harry got closer, he held up the glass with the plant animal in it. "It's some type of desiccated egg or spore for weird plant things like this. This was from just a pinch of the stuff, so if all of it was used, it might either create a really large one of these, or maybe a big set of them. Probably not a good idea to swallow or inhale any of it. Seem like either one of Accord's employees work, or Blasto's?"
  14. Harry, after entering the warehouse, glanced around, looking for items of interest. In a pile in a corner was a large supply of weaponry, from which Harry took a grenade. A bit of insurance perhaps for the meeting later, though the fact that they were meeting in a public restaurant made him hope he wouldn't need it. Following this, he walked over to what appeared to be sacks of white powder, sitting unlabeled on wooden pallets. Having nothing else to do, Harry decided to occupy himself by trying to determine what chemical these drugs might be. Not by using them himself of course. He pulled out his field medics kit, and using the utensils and containers in there, he took some of the powder, and after first giving it a visual inspection, put a few grains into some water. Almost immediately, the granules condensed together, and grew into a small green creature with pale beady eyes. Harry jumped back in surprise, for a moment, then leaned forward just a little to inspect it. That came from the powder? Just a few granules? So, the question was whether more granules would create multiple creatures, or just one large one, and. . .Huh. Harry took a few steps back from the powder as he realized what it generally was. Spores of. . .something. He picked up the container holding the small green plant thing, and, keeping it far out in front of him, headed out of the warehouse back to where the others were. Still holding the cup out in front of him, he called out, "Soma! That powder you have in the warehouse, you know what it is?"
  15. Ena continued to run. She had settled on a course of action, and she felt no need to deviate from it. Ena flees.
  16. "Good. Be ready to leave in half an hour. It's not too much of a secret, but. . .Anyway, I suppose we can ask the rest of them to get started on figuring out ways to clean up the bay while we're gone. . ." Harry trailed off, and it was obvious that he was done with what he needed to say. He waved his hand in a gesture of dismissal before turning and heading to the most conspicuous warehouse on the dock, the one with a space ship parked in front of it. He entered, and scanned the area.
  17. "Got a meeting at three. We're going to leave in maybe a half an hour to get some stuff done in prep. I wanted to know if you'd like to join. You'd need to ditch the whole invisibility suit for now though, since I want to keep things as nonthreatening as possible." Harry muttered to the diplomat. Hopefully she could hear something that quiet through the armor.
  18. "Oh. Glad to have you then. If we're going to go clothes shopping, we'll need a bit more time. Half an hour enough time for you to talk to Satomi?" Harry asked, genuinely surprised, and rather happy. "I'll need to ask Jun if she's willing to come with us and take off her armor, since some people are just kind of in love with their aesthetic." Harry smiled, pleased to have someone reliable. Though, he knew he couldn't put too much trust in appearances of reliability. "I'm thinking either we find some cheap clothing place near here, or one near our destination, so that we don't need to spend more than necessary. Thoughts?" Following an answer, Harry would approach Jun, tap her on her shoulder plate, and gesture that he wanted to speak in relative private.
  19. "Need money or something to get more? Picked some up from Lung's lackeys, if you need any. Anyway," Harry muttered as they moved away from the group. "I got Satomi back. She's a bit shaken, feeling guilty, etc. Bunch of self pity, and disappointment in herself in there too. Worried people will blame her. Just thought it's stuff you ought to know before you talk to her." "Anyway, that's not the main thing I was going to say. I scheduled a meeting at three o clock, probably going to leave around 2:20. I was planning on having Kusuke go, but that's not going to work. I'd invite you along, but I'm thinking that the person I was scheduling might be a mind reader, so I didn't know if you wanted to risk it. So basically, do you actually want to come, and if not, any ideas for what I could do for insurance?"
  20. "To be honest, I don't care whether it occupies you, or entertains you. I care whether it's something you can either learn from, or improve. So figure out whether there's anything useful there, try to figure out what the different tools do. Though I'm a bit surprised you didn't pick the compass or the matches." Harry glanced up, and noted that they were approaching the other group. Proditor hadn't found Kusuke yet, it seemed, and Arminius and Calvera were gone. Whoopdie-doo. The rest of the group seemed to be centered around Mirri; hopefully giving her a bit of a lecture. Didn't really matter though, Harry supposed. "Satomi, Soma wanted to speak with you at some point, so figure that out, and talk to her in private or something. Also, probably talk to Mirri sooner rather than later. The longer you let things ferment, the worse a confrontation will be." Meanwhile, Harry tapped Soma on the shoulder. "Brought Satomi back, but I'd like to speak with you myself first. That alright?" Harry was getting to the point of considering how he was going to deal with the scheduled meeting. It was an hour after noon, and while that gave two hours till the appointment, it was definitely nearing that time. He had to consider whether Kusuke would make it back in time, and prove himself to be collected enough for something sensitive like this. The second person--or well, nor a person, but nevermind that--Harry would consider was Proditor, and he'd sent him off to find Kusuke. Everyone else here was out of the question except perhaps Soma, who might have troubles if this Tattletale was a mindreader, and Frigus, whom Harry hadn't talked to enough to be certain how useful he could be in this sort of negotiation. . .Negotiation. Huh. Harry had almost completely forgotten about the ambassador in their midst. That would definitely be his pick, now that he thought about it.
  21. As Edmond made his way across the battlefield, he picked up swords tossing them towards the bus in a direction where he would be certain not to hit anyone. When he had collected a pile of five swords and some various plate armor, he decided that would be enough. In response to the queries from Navin and Solomon, he said, "Don't worry, we're going. Magnum, is your bus in good enough condition for everyone to ride in? I'm thinking we should head back to Silef's castle, and drop these off. If they're fine, we can go check on our castle. Sound good?" So long as Magnum is fine with it, Edmond would begin loading the weapons and armor onto the bus, preparing to leave.
  22. Harry groaned internally. The fact that she didn't believe him was obvious; she had barely made an effort to hide it. It annoyed Harry a bit, certainly, for two reasons. In the first place, it meant he had sort of failed at what he set out to do. In the second it meant she was probably still wallowing in her own self pity, which was never a good thing. As Harry shuffled through the pack, he came to the sudden realization that he didn't have that much to show off. What interest would the girl have in a canteen, and once the criterion of explicability had been established, that didn't leave a ton. For a moment, he contemplated letting her take a look the two guns he had recovered, but it might seem an insult when she had recently created what seemed to be an exceptional crossbow? Could probably be done later. Rations pack might be interesting, but the interesting things, involving self heating, would again be stuff she could probably not understand right now. "I've actually got no clue what to show you with that stipulation. Guess this might not be boring per se, but. . ." He took the knife from his belt, and handed it to her, handle first. "There's a cap on the handle that you can unscrew." Inside, extremely efficiently packed, was a set of strike anywhere matches, a small multitool with it's own blade, in addition to the numerous other fold out attachments on it, and a compass.
  23. "Thanks a bunch Terry, Zeta. Hopefully that helps a bit Uno?" In response to the query about where she wanted to go, Shelly shrugged. "Let's go Exeggutor hunting. That could be fun." She gestured for Kai to lead on, and followed with Uno. As she walked though, a thought struck her. "You said you snuck in? Technically, that's something I should probably report. I'm thinking I'm gonna make an exception for now. Later when we either find or don't find this tree of life, I'd like you talk to some of the higher ups, alright? Sneaking around probably isn't something the Aether Foundation wants you to do often."
  24. Twinges of doubt about fleeing were quickly suppressed by the arrival of this thing. Ena stared for a moment, then beat a hasty retreat, following the advice of the one who seemed to know the world best. Ena Flees. Loadout:
  25. "Yes, I know it's hard. But it's going to be hard for everyone. No one's going to blame you for misunderstanding things, or not realizing things on the first day of something like this. You just need to be willing to learn. People aren't going to hold a grudge against you about something you didn't if you go and apologize to them. Compare what you feel guilty of to any real crimes, even minor stuff like libel or petty theft. It's not a big enough deal that it won't be forgiven easily. And if the others do hold a grudge for this type of thing, well frankly, they're not people you need forgiveness from." Harry stepped away from the wall, and tightened the straps on his backpack a bit. "Yeah, we should probably get going. You're gonna do fine. I'll show you some stuff as we walk, if you'd like." He started off down the alleyway with Satomi, and pulled off his backpack. Kind of nullified tightening everything, Harry considered. If he had been a bit more collected, in the mission mindset, he probably would have had everything planned without that extraneous effort. It really was a sign that he wasn't fully comfortable here yet. Either in this world, or in this situation. In any case, he held his backpack out in front of him rifling through it as he walked, to show Satomi anything that might catch her interest.
