  1. "Alright then, let's go Axew!." Shelly hadn't bothered to return the pokemon to its pokeball, so it was quite quick to waddle forward to battle. Shelly smirked a little watching the creature. Hopefully some of that would go away when she evolved; it just didn't seem very dignified. But for now. . . "Take out the weakened crabrawler, Axew! Hit it with anything, and it's gonna fall like wet tissue paper." At her exclamation, Axew let out a cry, jumping forwards, mouth open wide. Inside, a small blue pulsing glow began to take shape, growing as the small monster ran forward, until it blasted forth to strike the crabrawler. In the meantime, Sheely had noticed Uno's fall, and attempted to catch her gently. As the light of Axews attack died down, something was quite obvious. "That. . . might have been a bit of overkill, Axew?" Axew Action: Use Dragon Rage on the low HP Crabrawler. Does 40 Damage always.
  2. "Right. I'll see what I can do. Might want duplicates for myself, though for a bit of a different purpose, I suspect." Not hearing anyone else making requests, Harry keyed in his ear piece to contact Dragon. Once he'd reached her, he said, <"Hey, Dragon. You might be glad to hear that we finished the bay. It's pretty much cleaned up, and there's a bit of scrap metal, though I'm not real certain what our plans were for that. However, should be able to get those lazy dock workers back in business now."> Harry grinned to himself, then continued. <"We're planning on. . . you know how the blind girl mentioned some stuff in Armsmasters' lab? Well, we're not from here, and we're going to be going off world. Jobs to do, things to fix. You'll be happy to know that we're going to be taking at least one criminal actor in this city with us; not much, but definitely a marginally safer city. We're also kind of getting help from Uber and Leet. Again, sorry we're working with criminals, but who knows, they're going to be working with us, and they might spend more of their energies on that than their normal villainy."> Harry paused a moment, to give the woman a moment to digest this. <"We're probably gonna be back at some point, and we might be able to help out with other stuff like the docks, or bigger stuff, if you want to keep an eye out for jobs and stuff. In the mean time, I just wanted to warn you that we're going to be disappearing, and ask for a small favor? One of our members an IV injector and a bottle of digestive enzymes, really a few general hospital items would be useful, like hypodermics, extra gloves, and sample containers. Normally I'd just go to a hospital like everyone else, but they don't tend to give away that stuff, even if you offer them money. So. . . if you've got any contacts or anything, I'd appreciate if you might be able to get me some general equipment? It'd mean a lot.">
  3. "Props, eh? I don't see why not. You wouldn't get first pick of course, since but I'd be willing to do that. We've got no real leader system, so you'll have to ask others, I think. Kusuke, Arminius, Mirri maybe? Not sure who else might care." Harry shrugged, shifting his backpack into place. There was a slight vibration emanating from it, likely the temporally altered metal. Speaking in general to people who were around, Harry said, "Since we're getting out of dodge, I'm going to probably contact Dragon, tell her qe cleaned up the graveyard, warn her that we're disappearing off the face of the earth, and not to worry. Whether that be because they want us around, or because they'll be paranoid if we disappear without a word, and think we're up to something. Suppose we could probably make some requests, or get some payment for the scrap or something. We also still need to stock up on food and shit, I think too. . ."
  4. Edmond "I'm sorry about that. We are a bit crunched for time, I suppose, and I can't really work miracles. And the people who'd probably be most help are stuck in the castle. After these two, we've only got Gilgamesh, and whoever's behind all this left to worry about, right? Do you think you'll be alright with waiting until after those problems are dealt with? If not, we could always try to figure out something with the people here after next battle, though it might be more of a hack job." Edmond frowned, a little disappointed. He'd hoped they'd have had a longer break between fights, both to rest up, and to actually work on this job. A thought occurred to him though. "I've got something, maybe. There was a guy who helped out a bit with Lexiel's problems in the castle before this mission. . . I think his name was Morgan, and he was capable or traveling through the void? Well, now that I think about it, Lexiel herself could probably help us a bit with trying to set up your uplink. . . Might need to scavenge for parts. Just an idea, but if it's vital, we could probably integrate you into my power armor, to give you your own body entirely, and might be a bit easier to integrate your uplink into, since it would have more room."
  5. "Expertise would be useful. And you know, you're getting a fair amount out of this, and if we die, most of that ends. It really depends on what you're asking, but I think you guys giving input on worlds that you know should be a given." Harry was a little skeptical about them traveling to other worlds on a schoolbus, but he didn't see any reason why Uber and Leet would rip them off. "How sturdy is this bus anyway? Will it take a beating?" "He means video footage, which is basically like a picture or a painting that moves. So that way they'll be able to see what we're doing while comfortable at home."
  6. "I will attempt to take out the other sniper. I will need a clear line of sight, and frustratingly, I'm not equipped with full spectrum vision yet. Will that gas obscure my line of site?" Ena spoke in a low voice as she knelt down, and then laid herself out on the ground. The DMR was already loaded, so she began the measurements that she would need to make the shot. Ena will try to shoot the sniper. The DMR deals 2d6+INT=2d6+8 damage with an INT*2%=16% crit chance. Also gets a +4 to damage from High Resolution.
  7. "Next move, far as I know, is we grab some supplies--food, containers for the metal, toiletries--, and we get off world with the help of Uber and Leet? I think Leet was planning to bring over a truck or something with his toys." Harry was surprised by this success, more so than he would have expected to be on completion of a simple task. Well, maybe not simple, as the local government hadn't done anything about it in years, but Harry had expected far more problems than they had experienced, and it was nice to have something completed with only one explosion, some neat metal and a bunch of scrap. "I doubt everyone wants a nap, but if everyone did for some reason, we'd need to be careful, make sure that the Merchants don't decide to firebomb us, or worse, again."
  8. ((I forgot stuff for my loadout before, mainly the fact that I have six slots, so I added one.)) Harry is going to use one turn to try to remove the lightly concussed status from Lilly (either by status removal (Disinfect) or straight healing (Slap on a Bandaid and call it good enough), and use the other turn to see if he can assist Frigus with the beached boat disassembly process.
  9. Harry smiled, and nodded. "Eva. Huh. Guessing you're part of the team now?" They just seemed to keep popping up, didn't they. Well, she hadn't taken action, so Harry deduced that whatever the ring did, it couldn't sustain a fire without a fuel. "Oh, hmm. I think there were some pallets in the warehouse? We can burn those. We're going to want a fairly slow burn, since I don't think we've got too much wood, and who knows how long this job will take. . ." Harry's voice shifted from addressing Eva to into introspective mutters. He then set off, with the new arrival, if she wanted to, to the warehouse to grab few pallets and bring them out to the docks.
  10. "Hi." Harry turned from the newly golden ground, glanced down at the ring the newcomer was holding out. What was he expected to do with that? And who was this person? A new member of the group? Another short girl, and she was offering a ring for some reason? "I don't think we've met? I'm Harry. I don't think I could make a fire with that ring, but if you can, by all means, please do? Just to make sure no one gets hypothermia or anything."
  11. "Good to have you on boa--" Harry, hearing a splash, had glanced over, and stopped when he realized that it was one of their actual humans who had jumped in. "Did she just. . . That water has to be freezing!" Harry looked around. "Anyone got a way to make a decent size fire? Otherwise, we're gonna have a samurai with hypothermia on our hands in just a little bit." Harry meanwhile, pulled out the spare pair of clothes he had collected at goodwill the previous day, and laid them out on the ground. Cupping his hands to his mouth, he shouted out into the bay, "Satomi! Come back to shore!" If she couldn't here, Harry would try to get someone else's attention to get her back. "Tattletale, where are we, and what month of the year is it?" If this was simply a colder day in a generally warmer part of the year, then he had less to worry with about the samurai (though he'd still have to tell her what hypothermia was). If it was an actual cold month of the year, then, well, the preparations he was making might see use.
  12. "Well, there was one hell of an explosion, and then, based on my determination from shape of the wound, the amount of blood, etc, you got smacked in the forehead with a large metal pipe. Probably hurt a bit. Can't say anything else, because I've not got a clue what caused the explosion. . . You said you make explosions, right?" "So, Leet, Uber, on that note, are you willing to help us out a bit? With the docks yes, but on a more important note, with travel to alternate worlds?"
  13. "Oh? I did not comprehend that from your statement. I believe I would be better suited to the assault team. If I can find the location from which this video was shot, I should be able to kill a few of them. If not, I am perfectly capable of holding my own in close quarters once we get near the wreck." "If however, too many people choose the assault team, I would not be averse to bolstering the pipeline team. I may not have as much use of the DMR, but I am bullet proof enough to prevent some shots from striking the payload, and am capable of handling ordinary humans if they attempt to approach."
  14. "Consider that I should be able to remove one enemy's magic or other self serving defiance of physics at least once. I can't guarantee more, so who seems the best target for this? Reaper or Roadhog?" Ena's body was facing the screen, though her head was rotated at an awkward angle to directly address Vitor. "If we want to save that for a time later, I should be able to provide some cover fire and target elimination. I have calibrated this rifle to my systems, and I should be able to make decent use of it."
  15. After a brief glance determined that no one else was still terribly injured--they seemed to have a fair number of people equipped for magical healing, something to inquire about later--Harry put his tooks away in his bag, and stood up,walking back over to the group consisting of Uber, Leet, Tattletale, Arminius, and Mirri. "Sorry about that. No clue how it happened. Guessing someone was irresponsible with their power? I don't have a clue how any of it works." Harry sighed with exasperation "Made some of this odd stuff though." Harry held one of the pieces of the rapidly shifting steel he had picked up, holding it through his sleeves. He offered the metal up for inspection. "I was a bit abrupt before, but the duplicator sounds interesting. If you're willing, I've got a couple small things which I'd love to have duplicated."
  16. "Wow, that's certainly--" And then the bay exploded. "Okaaaay then. Yeah, sorry to hear about your stuff. If you'll just. . . excuse me a moment? Maybe come help out?" Harry stated after the explosion went off. Even over here, small pieces of steel were raining down. Quite odd steel too, for that matter. Harry grabbed a handful, and dashed off to where everyone else was. "Alright, who let Lilly play with the gr--Oh." Harry cut off the quip when he noticed that everyone had in fact suffered some injury. He could figure out the cause of this later, and berate those who needed berating. For now, he had a job to do. Harry enters the encounter. Loadout: Harry will use Slap on a Bandaid and call it good enough on Lilly and Satomi. He will use the rest of his turn to contact Dragon and try to smooth things over. "Projectile penetration, to the gut. Slight damage to the large intestine, should be fixable." Harry carefully removed the embedded shard of metal, and applied a set of regenerative compounds directly to the wound, then a set of coagulents and skin regeneration treatments, and a psuedo electrolyte replenisher supplied orally. He then moved on to Lilly, who seemed to have caught one of the pieces of metal on her head. Bleeding, like most head wounds, but it seemed to be a blunt force trauma injury, and there was nothing embedded at the wound site. Harry administered the standard skin grafting treatment, alongside a specific set of anti-inflammatory agents to hopefully prevent a concussion. Somehow, he'd need to get to Frigus out in the middle of the water. Perhaps someone else could bring him over? "Anyone got Frigus?" Harry then flicked on his earpiece, and contacted Dragon. <"We accidentally caused an explosion at the bay--created a strange type of metal if you want to test it--, but we've got things under control, as far as injuries go. They seem to be only our people. I was hoping you could smooth one or two things over to keep Piggot from trying to lock us up? The explosion thing yeah, but also the fact that we've enlisted the help of criminals. Uber, Leet, and Tattletale. It seems like we might actually manage to get U&L to put some of their energy into a constructive project, and we've got a deal with Tattletale that should keep her from causing trouble in the city, if she's done much that way. Think you can make those work as defenses if someone decides to come after our asses? We really are trying to do good here, and we've made some fair progress on cleaning up the boat graveyard."> <"And on a completely different note, could you send someone with a complete set of all currently used vaccines down here?">
  17. "Oh good, you've never done wet tinkering? If you end up satisfied, I might ask for your help on some stuff that way. Is there a sort of planned obsolescence for your stuff? Because if it has enough time, and you weren't to concerned, couldn't you just make the tools to mass produce other stuff? Or would that definitely count as something you've created before and result in problems?" Harry glanced around, surveying what the others were doing. "There might also be some people with powers that we know of that might work well with yours? I've got no clue about a lot of the specifics of tinkers, but from a safe distance, it'd be worth a shot, right?"
  18. "A suitable agreement? What does that mean?" Normally, Harry would have given some options that had come up in his mind, but he felt that if they hadn't intended to ask for money, suggesting that was what they were after was probably a sure way to get them to bargain for money. "So, anything preventing you from making something that's close to but not quite a duplicate? How close can you go with a reasonable chance of not blowing your face off?"
  19. As they approached the two costumed men, Harry waved. "Uber and Leet, I presume? And. . . which is which?" He pointed between the two accentuating his question. "Nice to meet you. Name's Harry Walters." He held out his hand to shake with the two in turn. "So you can make stuff, Leet?"
  20. "Local gang makes sense, and. . . Oh. Right. The drugs were being shipped by the Merchants. I'd be willing to be they're our attackers." Harry said in response to Jun's statement, almost simlutaneously as Arminius gave his answer. "Yeah, them. Sorry." Harry made a mental note that if they remained here another night, they'd need to keep a watch up. In response to Mirri's exclamation, Harry said, "Pretty sure they go by Uber and Leet. Leet's a tinker that Tattletale said might be able to help us get off world."
  21. Harry yawned as he awoke, pleased that he hadn't over slept, even in this strange new world. After some normal stuff getting ready for the day, he grabbed his stuff, and headed out with Tattletale to meet Uber and L33t. As he stepped out of the building, he'd stumbled as he noticed the burn marks on the side of the building. "What the hell! Someone tried to burn the building to the ground? While we slept? And complete and utter morons by the looks of it. . ." "Well. . . I guess we got lucky. Know who they were Tattletale? Not quite sure how your power works, but you said you could gather info, so. . ."
  22. Edmond: "I've vaguely heard of New Orleans, maybe once or twice? Sorry about that, I didn't grow up on earth, so while I heard the names a bit, there wasn't a point in learning certain stuff about it. Nice to meet you though." Edmond held out the hand that was not holding LOTUS to shake. Liliya: "An actress, huh? So I'm thinking that they powers you have don't necessarily come from the person? I was thinking since it was Oppenheimer and all that yours would be some famous doctor, or nurse or something. So, uh, how do you get a persona? Is it something you're born with, or is there a ritual or something?" Perhaps she could distract them a bit. It wasn't a bad thing, but they seemed to be complimenting each other and getting annoyed by it a bit too much.
  23. "Copy that, Captain La Lune." Ciara responded crisply to the captain's orders, reaching up to tap in the firing sequence to the EMP cannon. A few keystrokes, and the aiming reticle appeared. She carefully scanned the main enemy ship, and fired a pulse at it. "Firing at the primary pirate target." Possibly relevant.
  24. After feeling that she had suitably calibrated the gun's workings to her own movements, Ena flicked the safety on, and headed downrange to pick up all the lead that she could. No use harming the local populace, and wasting material that could be forged into new bullets. As soon as the time between finding a bullet reached exponential growth, she quit, rather than waste precious time, and headed back into the house. She passed through the main hallway, heading to the section that Vitor had pointed out as containing access to the broader communications network of this world. She made her way over to one of the tablets, picked it up, and activated it. Normally, if she'd had an interface method, she'd have attempted a direct link, however, in this case, she'd have to access it the human way. She made her way to the search engine, Google. Interesting. She was a bit surprised to find this alternate world with the exact same megacorporation. Perhaps it was a big part of the timeline or something. Something inevitable. Or then again, maybe it was just chance that she was thinking too much about. She began with some basic searches about the world, starting with a youtube video that appeared in the search results. Normally she'd have preferred text, but the video's title, well it sounded like this video surely contained some startling revelation. The answer was apparently not, and Ena recognized the video for the tripe it was within a few seconds. However, she wanted to see what other people thought of it, so she began to rapidly read through the comments, and soon found herself linked offsite. Something called 4chan. And then "Yeah, we all know Einstein was full of shit." That could not stand. Ena scrolled down, rapidly processing the posts in response to this. A futile. . .anger boiled up inside of her. She'd never felt quite this way before. She'd been annoyed, and was programmed to ruthlessly seek out targets, but she hadn't really felt rage. She began to respond to this active tread. Attempting to point out the flaws and shortcomings of every post that did not consist of a one line ad hominem or random attention seeking remark. So in total, she responded to maybe ten percent of posts. Even so, she typed furiously. What a bunch of dribbling sycophants. Backing the most ridiculous ideas simply to inflate their own egos, and feel as though they were smarter than one of the greatest scientists of the twentieth century. She had studied this, and it was obvious that no one here had more than a first year college physics course could grant, in addition to poor reading comprehension of sensationalist tripe. What a bunch of morons, whiling away their lives in the stupid pursuit of. . proving themselves. . . correct on the internet. There was a rush of frantic electrical signals, and Ena tossed the tablet down on the table, exceedingly frustrated by her hypocrisy, and the fact that she knew she was right.
  25. "If this Coil guy is as dangerous as he sounds, we should probably take you with us to find Leet, for safety? Might be a good opp--" Harry glanced down as his phone buzzed, and grimaced at the mutilation of text that he saw. It was discernible at least, and understandable. "Off subject, but is it a bad idea to eat here? If it is, got any better recommendations? I'm thinking if this place is crap, then a supermarket in the area would be best."
