Harry entered the laboratory first. Might as well inspect things in order. First and most importantly, this world's broad medical status. Investigating innovations or lack thereof in patient care could come in fifteen minutes of so. Thus he stepped into the lab, adopting the casual air of someone meant to be there. If anyone approached him, he would simply tell them that Paylor had given him permission to be there, and that they could call him if necessary. For the next fifteen minutes or so, he would investigate the machines, checking the labels on what they were, the specs, and asking technicians who were working with them about the specifics, such as resolution, power consumption, accuracy, etc.

"Anytime." Harry exited the elevator, and entered the hall. He glanced around the walls and ceiling, looking for any obvious cameras. He had no ill intentions of course, but he liked to know when he was watched. He then approached each of the doors in turn to read the signage indicating where they lead.

"Oh? Funny, I don't think anyone's asked that yet." As he thought about his answer, Harry realized that he didn't really mind not being asked about it. It was a difficult question to answer. So many things hinged on so many other things that it would be difficult to know where to start. Tech made sense. He wouldn't be able to judge medical tech until they got to their destination, and technology told a bit more about the world anyway. "Uh. . Huh. Well, home planet is called earth. Dunno if that's your name for this planet, but I wouldn't be surprised, given that we've already visited another earth. Pretty weird coincidence. Anyway, we've had colonies in other stellar systems for about a hundred and fifty years now, give or take. We've got like twenty or so now, none more than forty lightyears away, populations between about two thousand and a hundred and ten thousand? I don't pay attention to the demographics. Earth's still kicking along, sort of. It's kind of shit right now, but definitely not as bad as it could be. Lived in Europe for twenty three years, and once I got my doctorate, I headed to the colonies. Was serving with a special ops team on an exoplanet in the Gliese system before I got pulled into this mess." "So, now you've got the short story of my life, what do you want to know? Because it's going to have to be more specific than 'tell me about your world', unless you want me to babble like an encyclopedia for ten hours. So any particular interests? Oh, and for context, if you use the good old gregorian, it's 2678 C.E."

"Thanks. Don't suppose it's easy to just waltz into a morgue and steal their shit. Fairly sure what I can offer will be decently valuable." Hopefully, with some testing to ensure that it was definitely safe--it seemed so, and Harry had fairly high hopes--he would be able to offer the creation to this world. Should be fairly cheap to produce, and would generally improve lifespan, presuming that the healing factor could at least slightly counteract aging effects. Even without that though, it would certainly increase survival rates in accidents and the like. "Also, mind letting me poke around whatever medical facilities you have here while I wait?"

"Thanks." Harry wasn't sure what to think at all about being patted, but he was quickly distracted by the fact that the Restore Pill in fact consisted of a syringe. He shrugged, and followed as he was lead to the floor by the science director. At the mention of requisitions, Harry perked up a bit. He'd grabbed the retro virus which he'd manufactured before getting off the bus, and now seemed as good a time as any to test it out. "So what're the limits on what you can requisition? Because, personally, it'd be nice to have the use of a scanning electron microscope, a regular microscope, a set of diverse human tissue samples, and a number of reagents, if cost is no concern. Otherwise, I'll think of something cheaper to do. Specifically, fifty pounds of borax."

Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
Strider replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
"Just pry it out of her hands or something! And--wait, you know her?" This was a development. Shelly hadn't though of the fact that the two might know each other. Obviously Betani hadn't commented much on them coming along, so it made sense in retrospect. . . In any case, Shelly reached out to Uno, trying to gently tug her hands away from the shard, so long as Betani didn't say anything to the contrary. -
Previously: ". . . Suppose that makes sense. Thanks." It wasn't really a surprise that she'd been able to deduce that what with her powers being what they were, but it was still rather amazing. And Proditor had been able to latch on to the signal for his own use? "I've got a few more things to talk to you about, but for the moment. . ." Harry muttered as he approached the laptop and booted it up, typing in a few things that soon led to the appearance of the two men. "Hey, you two got a moment to spare? We're gonna be on this world for at least a bit longer, and I thought I could see if there was anything in particular you two would want for personal use? Gear, trinkets, what have you. Or any way I could pay you for something. Because, I'd like you to send me whatever studies you can get your hands on about parahuman physiology and psychology. No need to do anything too illegal. Just get as much as you can, and send it over. I'll do the sorting, so quantity--as long as it's on subject--is preferable rather than quality. Shouldn't take too much effort, and you could probably even hire someone to do it with the amount you're probably going to be raking in from this operation." Currently: "Harry Walters, Doctor. Did your cameras happen to catch our entrance?" Presumably since the fight had been ongoing when they arrived, they might have noticed the bus randomly appearing out of thin air. It also occurred to Harry to ask, since Uber and Leet had mentioned it earlier, "Do you happen to have any Restore Pills on hand? Heard about them, and as a doctor, I take an interest in these sorts of things."

"Yeah, was thinking something like that, but I hadn't analyzed them fully yet. Does that mean they know the world? Or was that just your deduction?" Harry asked as he walked over to the laptop. It was interesting to hear about these creatures. The idea seemed almost unfeasible, having self sufficient cells that could guide themselves back to a core when separated. As long as it wasn't magic, that could be exceptionally useful. If it was magic, well it would at least be decently useful.

Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]

"HEY!" Shelly had no hesitation in shouting at the woman, and dashing over to try to slow the woman's hand. Perhaps it might be necessary to forcefully wake Uno, for everyone's safety. However, it was obvious that Betani was acting purely out of emotion. No one would out of nowhere shout "Bitch!" at someone before slapping them if it was simply to wake them up. "Calm down Betani! You can just throw water on her or something! Why are you so angry all of a sudden? She's a frail, sick person, and yes, it looks like she messed with something, but this is way too much!" -
"Dr. Harry Walters." Harry shook her hand firmly. "Specialties in genetic engineering and field surgery. So if you get your arm sliced open, you can come to me. Or one of the people who can turn back time, or use literal magic for healing. But none of them have a doctorate as far as I know, so there's that." He shrugged, and turned to head into the bus, before stopping for a moment. "Nice to meet you, by the way. Look forward to working with you, try not to die, etc?" No need to extend greetings longer than they needed to be, same as farewells. He'd have to inquire about her skills at some point, since her rather expensive clothes didn't hint at any specialty he could think of currently. But that could happen later, as there were others for her to meet. Harry entered the bus, and walked along it until he reached the steel fridge on one of the seats. He deposited his samples there, and made his way to the back of the bus where Tattletale presumably still was. "Tattletale, do you know whether there's a way to communicate with Uber and Leet from here?"

Harry glanced incredulously at Jun for just a brief moment after she mentioned looking for normal people, then turned to the newcomer. It was obvious to him that she was sizing him up. The glances and microexpressions were pretty similar to what some of the more experienced people brought with them into infiltration training. If they were good, when they left it wouldn't be so obvious that they were analyzing the person in front of them. The dismissal at the end was apparent too. Multiple possible reasons: perhaps he didn't fit her idea of normal; some aspect of his garb or appearance was offensive, perhaps a specific symbol; or he may have simply been less interesting than the other people beyond. Understandable. There were other, less likely options, such as the "Diplomat" saying something about him before the woman had come out. But that seemed unlikely. "Right. You're not going to find anyone normal here. For obvious reasons: when you need to save worlds from universe devouring beings, you don't generally call the ordinary people. You got the briefing from Dr. Ebon, I'm sure?"

Harry was contemplating responding to Lindow's questions and statements, but he decided that was unnecessary once Lilly got involved. So instead, he took the set of samples he had gathered and began carrying them to the bus. A brief inspection implied that they were some sort of independent cell controlled from something else, though he hadn't found much differentiation. Seemed more like some sort of hive creature than most other cellular organisms. As he approached the door of the bus, he noted Jun and someone unfamiliar exiting. "New arrival then?" Harry directed the question at Jun as he passed them.

"The spider things have some form of weakening effect, so watch out for that! More importantly, Saber's getting ready for something dangerous! If anyone's got healing, send that in Snow's direction!" As an after though, he made sure to add "After she gets hit, not before!" For now, Edmond kept up his assualt on the creature he had been focused on. It had done something, and weakened him a bit, but it seemed to be taking damage itself, and Edmond didn't feel too encumbered by whatever magic it had used. Edmond will use Weld on Lahmu B. Deals basic damage (2d6+INT) and adds 1d4+INTx1.25 to the next attack on the same target. ((OOC: Mitsu: Basic attack or furious tempest if it's off cooldown? Magnum: Donate actions? Atton: Buffs or heals or status removals, I guess. Snow: Keep tanking Gabriel: Target Jeanne? Magna: Do DPS with minions? Soryn: Keep going after Jeanne Perlita: Heal Soryn or Gabriel Spicy: Whatever you think is best))

"No. I could likely deduce some things, but I am no expert on either, and in some fields, pure deduction does not result in success. But you omitted anything saying you could not pilot a helicopter. Can you? If you can, would it be possible to collaborate with with someone capable of sailing?" Ena turned, and marched carefully over to the entrance to the helm area, and called out once more to the occupants of the vessel. "DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE NAUTICAL EXPERIENCE? THIS VESSEL REQUIRES THAT."
-
Only one person had arrived at the helm of this ship. The man with the doombot, and other control of electronics. Dangerous. Potentially valuable. Could he pilot this vehicle? And was there any purpose in trying to do that? "You said you were Alan? You control drones and other electronics? I would like to know more about this. For understandable reasons, hopefully." She tilted her head, but was otherwise still as she asked the questions.

"Well that's weird," Harry muttered as he fingered the still tingling fang. Things must have been fine with a surplus of ozone in their lungs, if they had any. He then stepped away from the man with the sword, took his knofe out of his belt, and began cutting out small samples from the different enemies. From the two legged tailed and grounded beasts, both the flying humanoids, and the Vajra. "So, mind telling us what the hell these things are? And why they need to be killed by teenagers with wristbreaking. . . 'swords', for lack of a better term? And yeah, I know one of you isn't a teenager, but that's irrelevant." He added the last part as an afterthought.

"Just a group of concerned. . . foreigners. We've got jobs to do all over the place, and our employer seems to send us with little warning, and sometimes lacking in certain utilities, like a god eater. Yet we seem to be doing okay so far." Harry answered offhandedly. He moved carefully through the corpses inspecting them closely, trying to guess which would be the best location for a sample. Though, it occurred to him to ask, "Mind if I take some samples? I've got a bit of a hobby as far as biology goes. Bit of botany too."

Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
Strider replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Shelly shrugged as they left the wurmple behind. It didn't seem intent on joining them, which further solidified Shelly's certainty that she hadn't made a mistake in passing it up. She hurried off ahead of Kai, down Corridor 11. That was the direction she'd seen Uno last go down, and the woman seemed exceptionally frail. It wouldn't be good to let her wander around on her own. She might fall and be unable to get up, or get stuck behind a ledge. -
As the spike bounced off his new armor, Harry laughed a bit. It worked. He'd managed to grow something like this in just a few hours? Well, the possibilities that he had in mind were growing. They would, however, need to wait. He arrived over at Satomi, lying on the ground bleeding. "Stop moving for a moment. And talking. Just for a moment." With the amount of exertion the girl was putting into working on the wall while she bled out was perhaps admirable, but certainly stupid. Harry pushed silk away from the wound, and gave everything a quick glance, practiced analysis allowing him to determine things beyond the layer of blood coating everything. He then knelt down beside the girl. "Muscle and skin wounds, damage to the small intestine. Any higher, and you'd have been in trouble. More trouble." He went silent then as he worked. First, he made of point of rapidly cleaning out the wound. She didn't need the enzymes from the small intestine in her blood stream or anything. Then, it was on to the actual damage. First, a few general accelerants, speeding up the natural response to this type of injury, then a binder. One specifically chosen for this section and place in the body out of a few which Harry had. Then the flesh repair. A few muscle bonding agents, clotting agents, and a few other chemicals, and something that could probably best be described as a high tech glue for sealing the wound. "Well, come on, get up." He offered her a hand up, muttering as he glanced over the bloody kimono. "We're going to need to get a washing machine on that bus." He grabbed his stuff, and hurried off to the next patient. The ice wizard guy. Lightning was always fun to deal with. At least it hadn't gone through his heart. That would have been quite the situation. When Kusuke popped over, Harry nodded. Might be a good idea to discuss priorities with him after the battle as far as heals go. Prevent any inefficiency due to them both trying to fix the same person. Harry uses Slap on a bandaid and call it good enough on Satomi, Frigus, Lilly, and Lindow. Heals for 1d4+13 HP, first strike. Heals Harry for half the damage healed. Harry also gets 10% of his HP regened at the end of the round. Remember his flaw causes him to take hits from the enemies targeting those he heals.

[Sign Ups] Tengoku no Owari

Similar thing to Murdoc, but more because I just want to make a character. (If there are three slots filled, go with Murdoc first). -
Turning up her volume slightly, Ena called out through the ship, "I've located the helm. Of this thing that's probably a vehicle." The architecture fit patterns she'd seen in the vast video files she'd processed a few weeks ago, close enough to fictional portrayals of large vehicle helms that it seemed a reasonable guess that this thing was meant to be driven in some manner from this point. Whether over water, though space or air, or even underground though, she had less certainty. Air or water seemed most probable though. For now, waiting to see if anyone wished to confirm or deny her speculations, she wandered around, trying to deduce something about the purpose of the different levers, based on height, clustering, and markings around them. Perhaps it could tell her a bit about the species that owned this.
