  1. "Sure thing. Just give me a moment. . ." Harry grabbed some items quickly, before turning back to Frigus, ". . . and there." He had two grenades in his hand, along with a rifle. The grenades were quickly deposited in his backpack, and he hoisted the rifle before heading to the door. "You sure you don't want anything? Well, let's get the hell out of here then." With that, once Frigus had exited, Harry grabbed something interesting quickly, then closed the door, and headed back in the direction that should lead out of the facility.
  2. "Ah, hah. . . That's a bit better." Liliya panted out, before positioning herself as best she could to take a small breather, before dashing in to slice something else. Liliya uses her basic attack on Bel Lahmu C. Deals 3d6+DEX unholy fire damage, with a DEX% chance to crit for double damage. Also gets boosted by 1.5x due to pursuit perk.
  3. "Huh. It seems they want to eat you all?" Ena asked. She knew what cannibals were, and these people did fit the description. . . "I don't see how they possibly could." If they were overwhelmed by a group of primitive savages, that would be incredibly disappointing. They would need to defend themselves of course, with prejudice. Obviously these people were intent on eating Ena's new comrades, and that must be prevented. Ena pulls out her DMR, and takes a shot at one of the psychotic axemen. Deals 2d6+INT damage, with a 2*INT (16) % chance to deal double damage, ignoring armor. Also has a +6 to perception checks, and ranged damage.
  4. "Thanks, man. I'd ask what the hell that key thing is, but that can. . .actually, yeah, now's probably fine. So, what sort of magic stuff does it do? Some kind of conceptual locking or something?" Harry asked this as Frigus brought his weapon down on the creatuer repeatedly. Harry was putting the final bandage on his own slight wounds, and picked himself up from where he'd knelt down to do it. He packed away the booster he'd pulled out--it hadn't been necessary for himself, and Frigus obviously didn't need it--and instead grabbed his knife. He waited a moment to determine whether the strange spider-ish thing would rise, but assuming it didn't, he would head deeper into the facility, following Proditor's instructions to the armory. Harry will switch out the passive he equipped last turn for his knife (this is just in case other enemies pop up and combat continues).
  5. "That does appear to be the case, yes. The thing they're eating doesn't appear human, or at least fully so. That probably doesn't matter though. And if they're consuming something unintelligent, this should give us a chance to understand them a little better. Since they do appear to be rather crazy." Ena stated after Vitor and Tim had finished. She then began a steady, slow, walk towards the campsite, hands at her sides, and a slight smile displayed in green lights on her faceplate, in order to appear less threatening. She walked slowly to give others time to protest, and recommend alternate courses of action.
  6. "No plan B, at least, not an easy one." Harry murmured. He still had the can of C4-A, but he had no real way of detonating it, if his assumption that it acted like normal C-4 was correct. "Same thing as before. We pop the door, you do what you can as quick as you can, I patch you up however I can when I can, and when we're done, we try to move through to the armory, then get out of here. If the chryssalids make it through the door, we might also want to just bypass them, lock them in this room? Eh, just an option. Let's go." Harry took a moment to grab some epinephrine precursors from a small pouch in his backpack, to include in his kit. Harry switches in his Survival of the Fittest passive. He then delays a heal until after the first two Chryssalids have moved (or had a chance to do so), and heals Frigus for 1d4+13 HP, and gives a 20% boost to a stat of his choice.
  7. Computers, and black pods. Possibly housing some lifeforms, those that needed to be grown, or needed stasis to survive. Unless they were some advanced and unfathomable design of power generation or perhaps detectors or something, Harry thought it most likely that they housed, or had housed, some type of ADVENT troops. Proditor had mentioned geneticly engineered weapons being used by his race. Three doors leading out of the room, so Harry positioned himself with his back to a wall, to keep an eye on them. "Frigus, unless you can read any of this, let's push further in. These are some form of growth pod, probably, and we don't want to be in the room if they've got something mature in them. We push through, see if we can find an armory, or any form of data storage that might have intel." "I'd check what's behind these doors, and I've got a thing that could do it, but apparently it's a bit dangerous. You got anything useful for scouting here?" Here he switched over to the psionic communication with Proditor. "Could you guide us to the armory, if this place's got one?" Harry will switch out his Jump Start trump with a "Gernade". Open the door, check if there's anything there. If so, toss the grenade.
  8. Ena stepped out of the pod, entirely uneffected of course by any dizziness, and surveyed the terrain. She locked onto the screaming men, as they seemed threatening in demeanor, if not so much in their armament. She also overheard what this Tim was saying. "I, for one, agree that they appear to have some form of mental problem, yes. That's based entirely upon information given about my home world by my creator, but they do seem rather crazy."
  9. Someone had engaged, that was obvious. From what Harry heard though, it wasn't obvious whether the possible allies were XCOM, or some unknown assistance. On the assumption that the way Proditor was guiding things was sort of like a three way call, Harry addressed both Frigus and Proditor mentally. "You good with a stealth entrance on our part, Frigus, take advantage of the distraction? might get some good intel, tech, etc. And Proditor, you can warn us if we're too close to danger." Harry will try (so long as Proddy and Frigus are good with it) to find the nearest entrance to the building in the opposite direction from the sounds of conflict, and get it open (Maybe Frigus can help with that). Harry will reactively edit himself out of someone's sight if he sees anyone. Preferably before they see him. Loadout:
  10. As Harry exited the bus, he grabbed a small spray can that he'd noticed earlier. It would be incredible if something like that didn't have any good uses. He marched out after Proditor, leading Frigus, and took a moment to survey his surroundings. Black building, slightly buzzing defensive system. And when Proditor mentioned that it was his home world, Harry let out an almost inaudible sigh, and thought in response. "Oh, this sounds like buckets of fun." So they needed to breach the building then? As a gesture of good faith to XCOM, most likely, seeing as Proditor was one of the species that had invaded the place. "I've got explosives if those are necessary. Do you know enough about the design to find weak spots for breaching? Is a stealth entry possible, or did your clearance get revoked."
  11. "I'll leave that to you then." For now, Ena was more interested in her own abilities to inspect whatever had bumped into their ship earlier, causing a slight disturbance. Eventually she found herself in the location where Vitor, someone unknown, Freya, and Stellio were inspecting what appeared to be some form of pod. "Is it an escape pod?"
  12. The work had gone well, so Ena was just finishing up when the object appeared. Motion detectors noted the appearance of the object as soon as it occurred, and quickly transmitted that information. It could be caught, but Ena chose not to do so, after quickly processing the black button in the center. It would not do well to hit that, and while her motor systems were finely tuned, they were not tuned enough to guarantee that she would not accidentally press the button. Thus, she let the object bounce off her head. A perfectly logical decision. After a single bounce, Ena stopped the device, picked it up, and stood up herself. The button on the device was black, and not red, so it was unlikely a problem, and if the device was a grenade, well it was probably already primed, and thus it wouldn't matter if she pressed the button. However, if seemed reasonable to bring it instead to someone more qualified for such things. Exiting the room containing the core, Ena made her way through the ship, following various auditory data and clues to make her way to Alan's location. "This appeared from nowhere, and hit me on the head. It has a large button, but I didn't deem it safe to press it. Due to your knolwedge of electronics, I thought you should have it."
  13. "Yeah. Stunning deduction, suprised you figured it out. Was mainly curious if you knew the details at the end or whether you needed some info to fill in pieces. Nevermind that." Harry muttered as the thing that could loosely be called a discussion continued, likely clueing Tattletale in to everything she could possibly want to know. Harry stayed out of it of course, preferring to mainly sit with his arms crossed behind his head, staring at a shuttered window. Force of habit, mainly. "You have any interest in psionics?" Harry asked the question out of the blue to Tattletale. It seemed to him that it could add a lot to the parahuman's repertoire. Her limit was currently based on information she could gather, if he remembered correctly, and if the amount of info she could receive was expanded, among the many other capacities of psionics, that'd likely complement her abilities nicely. "Obviously up to Proditor, but it could be useful to you, right?"
  14. ((And we're back!)) Harry exhaled slightly in relief as the bus pulled out, and they found themselves traveling through the space between worlds. They had left quickly enough that he hadn't found a seat yet, so he made his way slowly to the back of the bus, specifically where Tattletale was seated. He didn't really know where to begin. "So, you know everything, or need some hole filled in? About this whole lovely little trainwreck."
  15. "Yes, Kusuke, we fucked it up. Sakaki said that Johannes would likely order our executions if we remained, but after while, probably months, he'll realize that we're necessary to fix the problem? Anyway, we failed spectacularly, so it kinda makes sense to cut our losses, build up resources, and come back with plans and contingencies. Better ones. If we stay, we might be taking away help to other worlds, and who knows if we've got the power to actually do anything right now." And here, Harry thought of an intriguing question. It seemed likely that Dr. Ebon was watching them somehow, and it seemed odd that Proditor had simply flown the bus without asking for a destination, and without training. And yet both times, they'd come to a place that needed immediate help, or a location where Ebon could show them something they needed to see. "Proditor, do you choose where we're going when you drive? Or does the bus take us there 'randomly'? We've gotten to worlds that needed help and battle sites on our couple of tries already, so maybe the bus'll just stall if whatever's guiding us wants us to stick around?"
  16. Huh, Harry thought, after hearing Mirri's words. So she wanted to stay behind. He didn't hesitate to voice his opinion on the subject. "I'd say you probably shouldn't stay, unless maybe if you've got someone else with you. Sakaki said Johannes would need quite a while to calm down. And, you wanted the power of God Eaters, right? Pretty sure if you felt outmatched and needed that power that you're not going to have a good time against a bunch of them ordered to execute you. And fighting them with a starship probably isn't gonna win you any friends. I mean, if you want to, good luck. But it'd be nice to have you around, and I'm pretty sure we could easily make it to the bus, and from there, we just disappear completely. No need for us to fly out or anything. And Sakaki's might try to slow him. . ." To be honest, Harry could think of no more reasons to convince Mirri. But it seemed wrong to leave behind people by choice, without any allies. If Mirri thought she could defend herself completely, why couldn't more people stay? Perhaps Jun, if she could actually do her job as a diplomat. Really though, besides these half hearted arguments against staying, it just felt wrong. And yet, Harry had no authority on the situation, and no real ability to change the outcome. And after what had just happened, he was disgusted by the fact that it all really boiled down to "Here's some reasons not to, but yeah, if you really want, go ahead with the reckless emotion-driven behavior. It's your choice.". But there wasn't really anything else he could say or do.
  17. "I've got no clue," Shelly muttered in response to Uno's confused awakening statement. "Next time, you need to be aboslutely certain before you go around touching stuff. I mean, while you were knocked out of whatever, stuff started shrinking. We could have all been hurt. So next time, you need to be completely certain, and maybe ask someone before going and pulling on random things."
  18. Harry noticed her coming, of course, but he was entirely confused about what she was doing. "Huh? What? I can see. Sort of. Unless you mean something else with that weird simile? You know what Proditor does? Mind powers and shit? He can give it to other people, so I'm using that to see basically. And my eyesight's coming back, though slowly." Harry blinked a few times. He could easily see shapes and colors now, which was a good sign. "We need to get out of here. Make sure to tell everyone why. We're in danger from Johannes if we don't leave quickly." Harry muttered to the new woman. The people inside the containment room would need to know that. If they didn't, it'd seem strange, possibly, to simply scamper back to the ship instead of attempting to pursue or something. Following that, Harry headed back to the bus.
  19. "Alright, on it." Harry backed away from the two men, and checked around the room. Everyone seemed to be stirring now, so Harry made his way over to each in turn, before he would tell them that they needed to get the hell out of dodge right now, or Johannes would probably order them dead, in increasing tones if they couldn't hear. And since he was still using that method of detecting the world around him through psionics, Harry kept up a stream of thought that amounted mostly to "Proditor, please stall Johannes if you can" repeated ad nauseum, or until it garnered a response.
  20. When the flash came, Harry barely started to close his eyes before it was over, and he found himself hit by a concussive force, sending him to the ground. It hurt, a bit, but not enough that he was on the floor long. However, eyesight was a different matter. He couldn't see at all really. The question was, would the damage be permanent? And did that matter? In the short term yes, but in the long term, no. Eyes could be replaced, and. . .oh. Not a big deal in the short term either. He simply extended his consciousness, letting his senses flow beyond his own body. Up to about ten feet, now that he thought about it. He kept this up continuously. Didn't matter that it shined like a beacon, according to the Ethereal. He made his way over first to Sakaki. "You okay?" That was all really. If he was fine, Harry would then make his way over to Johannes with the same question.
  21. When they departed, Ena had spent a little time watching as some people manned the controls, but it wasn't terribly interesting. Instead, she noted some general fluctuations in the readings of her detectors. They certainly weren't the same as they had been mere moments ago. That meant the vehicle was either capable of warping the fundamental aspects of the universe in it's vicinity, or able to move to locations where these fundamental laws were different. Well worth investigating. Ena made her way down to the core of the ship, after a bit of searching, and parked herself next to it, sitting herself down on the floor as close as she could to it without touching it. From there, she began with the basic measurements: magnetic fields, gravitational field, and the like. There were interesting readings, yes, but nothing that gave any hints as to what was going on. Then came the more complicated stuff. Determining whether certain particles maintained their symmetry, whether general relativity was still in effect. There were far more tests, but even so, when she was done, she was no closer to understanding the mechanism of the core. However, she had determined one thing about the fabric of her location, and she knew how to replicate it. That would certainly be interesting. It was difficult, and might require finessing, but it could certainly be the building block of many things in the future.
  22. "You weren't here, but I got Tattletale's input on this. Basically, we should be able to reverse any alterations to her physically just through cutting off the shard. And if we can remove the Aragami influence, we should be able to get her back, I think. It seems reasonable to assume, and we don't have any other real options at the moment. If everything fails, we may have to stick with just minimizing losses here. Whether that be figuring out a way to quarantine her or relocate her, or other more permanent options. So for now, circle seems like a good idea. Don't really see any way that it couldn't help."
  23. Liliya was feeling just the slightest sense of deja vu here. Twice on the same battle, and similar situations. This was going arguably better, in general, she'd been hurt similarly, and that's what she was concerned about. So, she took that peek into the future. She vividly watched the motions of everyone on the field in the next seconds, before altering her path to avoid any injury. If Liliya would be attacked this turn, she'll activate her See the Future perk. If not, she'll use a basic attack on Bel Lahmu C 3d6+DEX damage, with a DEX% chance to crit for 2x damage. Damage is unholy. Her stats are increased by her overdrive perk.
  24. "Go ahead then. With the vision thing. I'm not in charge here. Just trying to remember what everyone can do, and get them here to do something." Harry answered Satomi first. "And, you're probably right. Calvera, can you control the heat well? Because, letting Soma escape because we weakened the room would be far worse I expect than accidentally letting some extrapolated cells escape."
