"Unwilling, not unable? It sounds as though it doesn't recognize that it is injured? Or maybe some other misalignment of priorities?" This had been one of the first subjects that Dr. Aslan had instructed Ena on, and the reason why she had three independent damage assessment modules located around her body. Fear of having a great intelligence unable to determine when it had been damaged and perhaps had fundamental hardware knocked out of commission. "Can we even tell whether it still had uncorrupted blueprints for itself? We may need to. . . wing it in some areas, but I'm sure we can. Right?" It was painful to contemplate, but if the answer was no, they might need to shut it down completely, and end the suffering.

[IC] Fate/Reborn 2.0 Second War
Strider replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Assassin: "Get him in the throat? Already di--huh. Guy can still talk, god knows how. Just a moment." Liliya watched as the man picked himself up and started to talk, a look of utter disappointment on her face. "You're in a rush? Gosh, I'm sorry about that. Thing is," And here, without hesitating, she stepped around in front of the direction he was headed, and swung her arm out again, chopping him in the throat once again, "that's not really my problem." If he fell after the blow, she'd head behind to catch him with one hand before he cracked his skull on the pavement. With her other hand, she swiftly drew her knife. With its assistance, she removed a thick strip of fabric from his shirt, and began to try to tie it around his head as a makeshift gag. Once this was done, she would check which hand the man's command seals resided on, and position her blade such that it could quickly be cut off. "There we go, hit him again, dunno what the hell was up with that. Gagging him for now." "So," Liliya began to speak, placing an arm around the man to restrain him, "I don't know where you got the idea that would work, but you kind of need to wait here for a bit. Don't worry, you're probably not gonna die. But if you try to command seal your Berserker or something, you lose a hand. Try to use magecraft, probably something a little worse. It's simple, so sit quiet for a bit, while we wait, alright?" The Berserker thing was just a guess, based on the sheer damage and force that the trail had displayed, but the man's reaction would be useful whether it confirmed or denied this fact. Min: Flattery, and a drastic tone shift, always suspicious. But Min could play along; it was in his best interest to do so. "I am not a man of justice, you certainly know, but I am with you on freedom. I will be against those who would take away my freedom to feel good, and who want to take away the happiness of other people. It is not the same, I know. But I do all things I do because I want to be free in the same way, not from anger or to hurt people. That is why I am fighting this war. I want my own freedom, to sell what I make to the people who want to be happy from it." "I do not kill my workers. I know people who do, but I do not. I make them respect me, but I do not go for pointless cruelty. You ask why I fight this war? To expand my work, I think. It may sound petty, but I want to be more free to do what I want, and to let others do the same. And there is even a bit of me that joined for fun. It is a grail war, right?" Min shrugged. He was good at creating facades, certainly, but this one was built in truth. Twisted a bit to serve the purpose, but it was more honest than many things he could have said. "I have plans already, and I think you will be okay with them. A building may be damaged, but no. . .the word. . . civilians should be hurt. And my other plans should be the same." "However. I will not promise not to harm others, just that I'll try not to. If it is between my life and others I will choose mine. Do you have a problem with this?" -

For the first small portion of the ride, Harry worked on patching up the more wounded, checking for internal damage in Reaper, patching presumably his lung, and then working on sealing up the exit and entrance wounds. Alan seemed somewhat interested, so Harry said, "Well, if you want to watch, come on." A few tips and pointers. Disinfect of course, when to stitch and when to glue, pressure on the wounds, etc. When he was done, Harry stepped back, and turned to Database. "You know that can I grabbed? Know what it is?"

[IC] Fate/Reborn 2.0 Second War
Strider replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Assassin: "Yeah, that probably ain't it. Draws too much attention when they would have had none on them at all. And the damage on the ground was definitely from a battle, unless they're some kind of blockbuster movie choreographer." After glancing around a bit, surveying the empty pockmarked streets, Liliya dropped to the ground with a muffled thump. She began to head back, at a somewhat slow pace, that of a human jogging. More time to survey. She took a more southerly route, cutting more into the commercial district. A Master would be more likely to hide here, with higher buildings and a few more people to hide amongst than if they'd gone north. 'Course, they could be on the other side of the battle by now, but this was the best place to check. As the blocks passed, Liliya studied each of the few people she passed. Most were heading away from the area, and seemed fearful. To be certain of course, she mapped out an action in her mind, to see what confronting them would reveal. If she wasn't too certain she could always just try it for real then leave. Not finding anyone, she pulled her search a little wider. She was close to giving up, when she saw a man running. Straight for a few seconds, then some slight variation, then he regained his straight path. This was the one, no doubt about it. That suspicious run obliquely toward the danger, the brief lapses in concentration, either communicating rapidly with a servant or looking through the eyes of a familiar. "Oh, master. . . I got him." Liliya pulled around into an alleyway, and looped around until she was in a position from which she could get attack from the side. He was a mage, so she had to be careful, but he wouldn't really be a threat. As soon as the running man was at the right spot, Liliya charged out in physical form from a side street diagonally backwards and to his right. She was far faster than him of course, so she would be on him in an instant. Arm out straight at neck level to clothesline the guy, close enough that only someone with superhuman reflexes would be able to avoid it. Liliya smiled, some combination of haughtiness and glee, and then stated softly, "Hi." -
Ena left the guard post, slightly disgruntled, as much as it was possible for her to be. She might be talking with the guards, but unless the specifically needed to watch the horizon at all atimes, she could probably be an asset if something had come up regarding protecting the gate. In any case, she headed up to one of the people in the market, preferentially seeking out someone who's magic was quite obviously magic. Specifically anyone who might be levitating things, or working with magic fire or the like. Something that would catch Ena's attention as quite obviously ignoring or circumventing the laws of physics.

Since he'd finished introducing himself to Empi, Edmond hadn't done much. He'd thought to go talk to LOTUS, but that AI appeared to be in the midst of another conversation. So, in the mean time, he'd simply stood around, fiddling awkwardly with his helmet. He had no reason to interject into any of the conversations taking place, so he didn't. When the policeman made his rather rude comment, Edmond perked up, though he didn't do anything Lexiel had moved in quickly enough. For now he would observe, as in his life he'd noticed that the type of people who generally made those comments had very little respect for authority. This would be a chance to see how that man reacted, and what would be the best way of dealing with it. However, when Lexiel spoke, Edmond choked slightly, in a mildly failed attempt to hide a laugh. Simple joy at how much. . . better Lexiel was, and at how willing she was to consider Marisa a friend. He called out to Lexiel from about ten feet away, "Try not to make it permanent if you need to rough him up a bit!" He then set off to wait patiently outside Magnum's bus to talk to LOTUS.

Ena nodded along mechanically to the explanation. That made a bit more sense. It would be able to detect people who'd used ceertain forms of magic, rather than someone who might be evil simply in abusing employees or something else mundane. "Whom should I ask if I'd like to witness some of your magic? I'd like to perform a few tests."

"Research, obviously. Win the war not the battle." Harry muttered, quickly packing away his gear, and offering a shoulder to Rachel as he began to head back to the Firebrand.

[IC] Fate/Reborn 2.0 Second War
Strider replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Assassin: "Understood." Liliya headed off without another word. There was a large hole in the nearby building, then signs of repeated impact going up the building. A weapon used to climb the wall, claws, or simple fists were the likely culprits. No matter what though, the enemy was strong, and did not care for subtlety. That implied a berserker. She couldn't be certain of course, since it could be an outlier in another class. In any case, Liliya approached the building, and began to ascend, making use of the large chunks taken out of the building to aid her own ascent. When she arrived at the top, it was obvious that the Servant had used primarily rooftops in it's journey, judging from the erratic trail of destruction that was far more evident from above. Liliya stared at the gap for a few seconds, images flashing in her mind of the possible outcomes that depended on the angles she leapt at. Once she was certain that she could make it, she dashed, then leapt across. Following the same process, she headed on, following the path of craters. Soon enough, she began to notice differences. The path began grew became more focused, as if something had been found. And at the same time, faint noises became audible. A clash of some sort. And it seemed as though this path, while more focused, was at the same time more erratic. Instead of a random meandering run across the buildings, the destruction was at a lower level, and in consistent lines, moving back and forth. Something had been found. At this point, Liliya stopped. Going forward any more would be dangerous. Inspecting the tracks a bit more, it was obvious that the Servant was moving on all four legs. Another hint towards a berserker. "Master. I followed the path of destruction northwest into the residential district. Looking like a berserker, based on how consistent that damage is, and it wasn't even fighting, just moving, looks like. I'd say that it's got a fight now though. I can hear some ruckus off a bit further, and the path of destruction turns back on itself a few times here, and moves down to street level. Chasing somebody, somebody fast, based on how quick this berserker would have to move. I'm a few blocks away. Want me to try to get a closer look than this, or you want me back?" Min: Min stepped out into the rain, ignoring the drops that splattered on his head, and began to walk silently at a measured pace. About one block east, he stopped, and turned. If Peter was visible behind him, he said sharply, "Spirit form, now." After two minutes of silence save for the steady drip of rain, the low hum of a vehicle became audible. It increased slightly in volume, before pulling up next to Min. A grey sedan, nothing too fancy. He entered, sliding into the back seat, then waiting a moment for Peter to enter, if that was something that was necessary. Once he had closed the door, the small asian woman in the driver's seat spoke up. "Where to, Mr. Tsoi?" "To the hotel building." Was all he answered before sliding an opaque divider betweent he front and back seats closed. He then smoothly drew his cell phone fom his jacket pocket, and began to punch in some numbers. When it appeared, he touched the contact named Dae-Jung. A few seconds of ringing, then, "How are our people? Are there reports?" He had some people, about ten, spread around the city. Dining out in restaurants and hanging out in alleys pretending to be high. "Noise and damage in the commercial area, nothing past the hospital at all. Some suspicious people to the north?" Min's face twisted into a frown. He'd hoped to get more out of these people. But for now at least, it would have to do. He quickly opened the divider. "Nori, do not go straight, take us south to get there." The divider snapped shut, Min thought to Saber. "You need to tell me. How do you want to win this war? You have only complained about my ways, and have said nothing about how you would win." -

Ena meanwhile, remained at the entrance, genuinely unsure what to do. After a moment, she approached the one who'd helped administer their entry test, and inquired. "You spoke of a detect evil. . . thing? Is this some form of magic? Mind telling me a bit more about it? It sounds exceptionally useful. Detect plots, conspiracies, any type of deceptive troublemakers. . ." There was probably some sort of limit on it, and ways of protecting against it, or else this world would presumably be better off, and not need their assistance. Though, perhaps a world where all evil was detected and stopped would have too little conflict to grow strong.

Primitive god worship, with rituals? These people should be simple to deal with. They simply had to pet a kitten to enter, right? "Innocent, you say? This shouldn't be a problem." Ena stepped forward, reaching out to pet the cat. Controlled movements, keep everything at about half the pressure which she was programmed to shake someone's hand with. Two pets straight down the back, if nothing goes wrong. Nothing fancy. If the cat seems to enjoy it, Ena will scratch it behind the ears before retreating.

She'd had to leave the spaceship thing behind. That was almost sad, Ena noted. It had felt rewording to work on, so hopefully they would return to that place in the future. It was cold? Sensors indicated a chilly, but certainly not exclamation worthy temperature, if these humans were anything like the humans she was familiar with. A silly assumption. "Yes, let's get out of the cold. To that town there, or did you have something else in mind? I'm sure we're perfectly capable of making a shelter of our own if we want. If we're worried about hostilities."

"Seems I'm needed." Activating his mental block on the enemy, who knew whether it would work, Harr dashed out to start draggin Rachel back to cover. So long as he makes it, he'll start working on her wounds, reconnecting tissue in punctured organs, preventing blood loss, all the works. Use Now You See Me. . . to go in and grab Rachel and bring her back. Then use Slap a Bandaid on to heal for 1d4+13 (with priority)
