[IC] Fate/Reborn 2.0 Second War

Assassin "No, I've got no problems with that. As an Assassin, I'd say you got pretty lucky, I don't mind. I want the grail of course, but I don't expect it, what with the class an all. So might as well get something done in the mean time, and have fun with it." So, the master wasn't terribly interested in the grail. She could deal with that. Liliya wouldn't say they had no hopes of winning as Assassin, since that mindset tended to make things worse, but she certainly didn't expect anything. So they'd get a bit of hunting in on the side. Not bad at all. "A drug lord though. . . Guessing he's got some resources and the like, probably pretty paranoid and good at watching his own back, or else he wouldn't be a worthy target. He doesn't know we're out to get im, right?" -
Edmond made his way onto the bus with a few swords picked up from the ground. On the way in, he nodded to Magnum. "Thanks. I'm sorry that I didn't have more for you to do this battle. . .I suppose it probably gets a bit boring to be the designated driver all the time. But you do it well, and the info at the beginning of a battle is invaluable." He placed the blades on the floor, and sat down a few seats back from the front, popping off the helmet he wore.

Assassin "Shame about that, could have had a nice duo look going there. Basement of a penthouse makes it a bit better, since we can skip on up to the top for a look around. Anyway, Kars, Master, you seem like the type to get straight to a point: so, about me, main thing is, I'm fast, got some general--well, actually, you've probably got all that info in your head. Best strategies for me are the classics, ally with a servant, turn on em when the time's right, or pick off weakened servants after large battles with my phantasm. Simple, but effective." Liliya started to head to the door, but paused after the first step. It wouldn't set a good precedent to start going off ahead of the master. "So. . .what now? You got plans yet?" Min: "Hello, Peter Pan. I," He raised his arms to gesture expansively, "am Min." While the energetic child appraised him, Min appraised the Servant back. It was obvious that both the servant and his familiar did not like what they saw. Whether that was because they did not see fun in him, or something else, Min did not know. "I am not old. And I can see that you think I am not fun. A holy grail war is not the place for fun, but. You are wrong. I am very good at having fun. I make a living on giving people 'fun'." Min smiled, confident in his abilities to win over this immediately wayward Servant. From what he could tell of the Servant's abilities, there were a good number of things at his disposal: A shadow that might scout, Pan's prowess with a blade, and the most important, flight. In most circumstances, it might mean a free escape from an enemy encounter. It would be a shame to let that Servant’s impression of him tinge their ability to work. "So please. Let us go around the fact that I am not a child like your lost boys. I want to try flying, since my mind tells me that you can make it happen. I want to get used to it." -

No themes here Or this if you prefer: The light disappeared pretty quick, obviously. Would have been weird if it just decided it was gonna stay around forever. So yeah, the light was gone now. Of to the right of the circle stood a woman, wearing a brown duster that fit her nice though not exceptional figure well. Seems like as soon as the light had started to fade, she'd started to move, glancing around to get a view and the lay of the land. This was cut short quickly of course, since she was in a basement. "Not much for scenery, but I guess it's as good a place as any, maybe one of the better ones." She muttured, before turning to the man who'd summoned her. She glanced him up and down. "That, my friend, is a sweet hat. Know a place where I can get one? Name's Liliya, Assassin, nice to meet ya and all that." -
"Got it. We'll set up in the right room, get ready to take them with some fire down the hallway." Harry nodded to Contagion to imply that was the plan and they should get to moving, then began to head carefully to the right room. If they got there without any trouble, Harry'd call again to confirm whether the enemies were in the hall, and whether it was possible and safe to shoot through the door, or to just open it. (Presumably once we get confirmation on one of the two options, we'll do it)

Min stood inside an unremarkable, decrepit house. He'd left the organization for a bit to perform the summoning, no need to reveal any of that to the employees. He had a phone to his ear, and spoke slowly into it as he painted the ground with blood. "And what did the architect say? Did he say the walls it is safe to cut? Oh. Good. Put the boxes near the other walls. Gyeong will say which." He gave a flick of his wrist, adding another line to the painting. "And our people, are they around the city? And reporting? That is good. Continue to produce as usual. Make the shipping people organize my supplies. I will call again later, Dae-Jung." Min closed the phone with a snap, then pocketed it, in one of the pockets not occupied by a pistol, a small spray bottle, or vials of various powders. The design on the ground was basically finished, and Min stood back admiring the work, a wild grin spreading across his face. It was rather beautiful in its symmetry, enhanced by the dark crimson color. But, he could not admire it forever. If it dried up, who knew how that might affect the ritual. He pulled a small scrap of paper out of his pocket, and began to slowly recite, stumbling on some of the longer words: "Blood flows. . .unhindered, Stories of greatness inter-intertwine, My body is yours, Your heart I desire. Brans-brandish your soul against my foes Come forth with me unto victory." The circle began to glow, and the man was forced to shut his eyes. A ring of three stylized arrows appeared on his shoulder. -
I may be interested in this. Depends on getting some character inspiration, but the system sounds cool! WIP Hina and Buzzkill.EXE

Edmond looked on in silence. He'd seen this before, and while he'd hoped maybe it'd be slightly different this time after seeing it happen to Cu, it wasn't a surprise. He glanced around quickly, checking to make sure that everyone was in one piece, all limbs attached. "Alright then. Good work everyone. Why don't we grab the weapons and armor from the creatures that have it, and start making our way back to the castle. Sound good?"
-
"We'll see if the medieval man can handle this, since he's got assistance, it sounds like. If they need help, we'll run back, and you can spew gas all over them or whatever. But for now, we'll take directions from the Sandman. Find another group of hostiles, and eliminate. You know the drill, right?" Harry handed the canister over to Database, making certain she had a good grip on it before letting go. "Keep me updated on what it is, alright?" Await the Sandman, and then follow, or be directed to where more hostiles might be.

Harry turned to stare at Contagion shrewdly, trying get a read. Difficult with the mask of course, but there were always the subtle signs of body language. He shifted his hands on the white canister to get a better grip. ". . .I suppose that is a kind of solution. . ." He stated delicately. "So what sort of things did ye olde hero agency do? Fight evil mutants and whatnot? How wide an area did you have jursidiction in? Really, mainly thinking about what sort of threats you'd face, since a global force'd have you carted all over to fight the biggest baddest villains, and something smaller, well, you probably handle smaller threats." Harry was just making small talk for now while he quickly raced through the possibilities that the nanobots entailed. Either the gas that Contagion produced was relatively easy to break down, or they had extremely advanced nanobots. Bordering on biological compexity even, as most enzymes were fairly complicated in their methods. The gas also burned the skin, which implied that the nanobots had totally infiltrated the host. And yet, it sounded like a one time injection, so it must be either reproducing in the host body, or extricating itself from dead skin cells. No, wait, that couldn't be, since the gas wouldn't be able to permeate the cell membrane before destroying the cell entirely. Possibilities included an undetectable film on a person. Certainly plausible, but they'd have to be careful if they showered, presumably. Of course, a simpler method would be to let people suffer the surface pain, and simply have the nanobots dissolved in the blood. . . And god, the logistics of this, that'd be hell. Presumably. There was probably a way to do it, if you made the nanobots self replicating, and simply let them be transmitted host to host similar to bacteria. A sufficiently autocratic government would do the trick too. But no, he was neglecting perhaps the simplest explanation at all. Contagion could be lying, not trusting Harry, not wishing to lose his trump card, or simply just not yet comfortable enough with the group. There was a buzz on the comms (?) "Sounds like the crusader knight guy decided to fight some aliens. I'm sure that'll go well."

"Taking copies of those items is acceptable. I will work on a set of joints, and those will take the place of every necessary weld in the structure." And Ena did so, with a bit of assistance from the loaderbots. She had just finished when ORION mentioned the mystery. "I would like to investigate. We can work on this at a later time, Tim. Additionally, it may be of use for you to imprint my armor plating. In any case, we must investigate." Ena called over one of the loaderbots, and explained quickly what her goals were for the ship, three thrusters, two main rooms, an engine room and a cockpit. For now, she expected that the loaderbots would only be getting started on the work of creating a frame.
-
"I see Tim. I'll certainly be trying to keep everything human safe for now. I believe I understand your power a bit, so is there some material that is particularly EMC dense? So that we might stockpile things on the ship? If we cannot land for a while, it'd be good for you to be able to continue your work." Ena took a moment to direct one of the loaderbots to a different segment of the frame she was beginning to assemble, before resuming the conversation. "Can you collect EMC from something, and then recreate it into a different shape? Removing the need for welds in the frame of the ship might increase the structural integrity."
-
"What year is it in your earth? And when did the mutations start to spring up?" This was a vaguely familiar story. Different in some details, and there were some grey areas that Harry hadn't delved into, but all the same, it was an interesting coincidence. "I'm gonna shut up after this, but how do you avoid civilian casualties?"

"Ah, got it. If you don't mind my asking, would you mind elaborating a bit more on how these mutation events are triggered? Since you know, now you spew gas because you were working with gas. But, does--just, what else do you know about them? Mutations purely genetic? Through the whole body? Hereditary?" "Sorry about the name, nicknames and the like have a tendency to stick when you least like em."

"So, how'd you get that name. You said something about a hero agency, do they choose them for you? Don't think I'm making to big a leap in guessing that you make poisons." Harry kept looking ahead as he asked this, mainly because turning around with a large box in your hands was always a hassle. Even just carrying something of this size and shape was a bit of a nuisance. As if defend the mental statement that he'd just made, it was at this point that Harry crushed his fingers slightly between a door frame and the box. He gave a small grunt.

So, now it was time to build a ship, or two. Her current thoughts were one small vehicle, maybe four person capacity that she could interface with, and a larger vehicle to get them off the planet with, if necessary. So now came the question of how they could make the new ship better than the old. After all, if they couldn't, then she'd made a mistake in taking apart the ship. And Ena wanted to be certain no one could accuse her of that. Her processing speed was excellent, and she wouldn't do anything spur of the moment without thinking it through, right? So, that meant she needed to recruit. There had been a guy who'd expressed interest in the materials as she scrapped the ships, Tim. Perhaps he'd have interest? Ena was about to set off in search of him, when he appeared. "Hello, Tim. I'm working to build two ships. Since I took the two ships we had apart. Hopefully though, we can integrate them with our tech, and make them more personalized than the shuttles. What skills do you have that we can make accomodations for? Special requirements for nourishment or comfort? I'm considering what to add, whom to recruit, and what plan to follow currently."
-
"Oh, hey. That's nice." Harry picked through the pile of weaponry until he came to the more unique gun. Not the most human friendly design, no iron sights or a good stock, but it looked like something that was probably a notch above the ordinary armament. He slung it over his back, and approached the white box in the middle of the floor. Nothing indicated a way to open it, but even if it was a bomb, it wouldn't be touch sensitive. So he hoisted it up in both arms, and turned to carry it out the door. "Keep an eye out for anything that might have survived the crash while I carry this back, plague man? Thanks." Harry gave a light smile, and marched off to the original entry point.

[OOC] Fate/Reborn 2.0 [Second War Active]

New master sheet: New servant if I think of one: -
When Ena entered the weapons bay, she first took a look over the small rodent creature's shoulder. It seemed to be fiddling with some circuits or something, next to a large pile of components. Maybe she could talk to him at some point, figure out how that little tool he was using worked. But for now, she was more interested in the weapons, in increasing her ability to kill things. A quick scan of the work bench yielded nothing of interest, just welders and welding masks. The bins on the walls contained mainly the same things that the rodent had assembled on the floor. She dug halfheartedly into the buckets, and did come up with a few interesting items though. When she was done there, she looked around and approached one of the loaderbots. "What type of weapons do you make?" The answer was just as succinct as the question: "We make guns. Everyone makes guns." It was an answer, but it was vague. Ena shooed away the loaderbot, then began to speak to thin air. "The guns are for fighting on the surface, correct?. Do you know how that began? The fighting?" As expected, ORION appeared quickly, and gave answer. The fighting was before his time, a land grab, for economic dominance of the planet. The phrasing he used was a little odd to Ena, so next she inquired whether this was the home planet of humanity. It wasn't, apparently. This was a planet of outcasts and looters. ". . .Well, I suppose you could scrap those Hyperion Escape Pods. No ships stay here for long, if ever. Bandit worlds, and all. I'm just about as clueless to that as you are, sadly." Ena thanked the fellow AI, and summoned a few loaderbots to haul the wreckage in. For nearly an hour and a half, Ena carefully severed the pieces of the two craft with her inbuilt welder, and the other tools in the machine shop, until she was left with four large engines, and assorted other ship pieces. She didn't quite know why she'd taken them apart, as it seemed silly to assume that someone else would stop by on this world to pick them up later. . . So now she had to build a ship. But rebuilding the original pods would be boring, and there was a lot more interesting things to be done.

"Well, that isn't suspicious as all hell." Harry shrugged as he approached the white container. No touching for now, as that would have been stupid. For now, he simple walked around it, looking for any obvious markings or latches. Anything to indicate that it wasn't a nuke. It was in the armory after all. But, it was unlikely to be touch sensitive, and would probably have a priming mechanism. "Understood. I'm going to grab a weapon here, then figure out whether moving this thing is the absolute worst idea. See if the XCOM operatives know what it is." And so Harry did as he explained, first scanning the weapons rack and the pile that had fallen on the trooper to find something to his liking, then resuming his inspection of the white container.

"Thank you very much, ORION." The green light patterns on Ena's faceplate formed a smile, and she headed off in the direction that the AI had indicated, towards the bay. She did stop on the way, next to one of the loaderbots, and inquired: "What have you in the way of power sources, preferably smaller than half a cubic meter in volume." If the loaderbot told her about something in the bay, she would then continue on her way over, to look through the bay for both weapons development and powersources.
-
"What is the primary focus of Hyperion Research and Development? If you wouldn't mind, could you direct me to possibly weapons development, power supplies, or any metamaterials which you may have developed? I have a vested interest in these things, in a few ways." The depressions on the ceiling were likely some form of security measure, possibly automated turrets. Ena didn't suspect the brain based intelligence of any deceit currently, but she made an effort to position herself in a way that would make it more difficult for the turrets to target her, and give more sources of cover. It was almost like a game, testing herself against the facility's designers.
-
Alloys and Elerium. Harry resolved to ask for a sample of both when the mission was over. Hopefully XCOM could spare a pound or two of each. Inspect the room, I guess. If the XCOM team opens a door, follow them.

((Damn you, you got my hopes up for a moment there!)) "Hey kid! Yeah, you. What's your name? Saw you were healing people up in the battle. Can I get a bit of a pick-me-up for myself? Thanks." Liliya had sauntered over to Laver, filled with a bit of glee at their success in the battle. Magic sure could be a help sometimes, couldn't it. Though if you counted the whole servant debacle as magic. . . well, good and bad to everything.
