  1. Harry worked with Lucille a bit on harvesting the dead enemies for anything that might be useful. He took a set of DNA samples from the chaos serpents, in addition to one of their horns. It seemed to be resistant to acid, so if it was made of some sort of psuedokeratin, it might be useful in. . . well, something involving acid resistance. Harry didn't know what, but it might be useful, and they could always get rid of it at some point if necessary. He also grabbed some of what seemed to be human organs from the Ettins, and wrapped them up. They seemed to be decaying a bit quicker than human tissue should, something worthy of investigation. He'd have to ask Frigus or Lucille to make something that would work as a fridge, or whether they had any preservation spells or whatnot. "I'm ready for you to open the portal whenever you can. Some of the stuff I've got will need preservation pretty quick."
  2. "There's something flying by. Very far away." Ena ignored it for the moment. The battle at hand was important, and if she'd not been able to determine what it was from a brief glance, it wasn't close enough to matter, yet. Ena will take a shot at Talon Flame trooper (The living one). Deals 2d6+INT (8) damage, with a 2*INT% chance to do double damage ignoring armor. 16%. +4 to perception checks and ranged damage. If it doesn't take an action, Ena will turn to try to determine what the flying thingy is after firing.
  3. "Thank you. We don't need these, but it is very much appreciated." Harry gratefully took one crystal vial, one quartz flask, and one Kratar of Might. (If you want it, just ask IC and I'll hand it over). He then made his way onto the battlefield, searching for anything that looked interesting. He grabbed one reiver gravestone fragment, one mystic urn fragment, one death wyvern scale, and one of the Slaughtar shields.
  4. "Thanks Kusuke!" It had been an extremely strange experience, and an almost exhilarating one to be shifted back in time so often. Yes, it had been mentally a bit exhausting, yes he was a bit hurt himself, but he had managed to patch up nealy half the team in a matter of. . . well it was short. That was all that mattered. Soma had again taken some injuries, so Harry rushed over, to once again perform his job. Harry uses Slap on a Bandaid and Call it enough on Soma (or Jun, if Soma's entirely healed when Harry's turn comes about) and himself (for when he gets hit with everything next round)
  5. "Oh boy. Acid's always fun." Well, it seemed like time was up. People were wounded enough to warrant attention now, so Harry snatched out his medic's pack, and began the dash through the team to get to the aid of those who needed it. Harry uses Slap on a Bandaid and Call it enough on Kusuke, Calvera, Piglet, Soma, Arminius, and Jun (in that order as init turns come up. Got 4 extra turns from Kusuke) . Heals by 1d4+13, and heals Harry by half the amount he healed.
  6. Things seemed to be getting a bit dicey, Shelly thought as she held onto Uno. That amount of power emanating from the Krabby couldn't help but be devastating. They'd gotten rid of the crabrawler's thankfully. No matter how dangerous this pokemon might be, things were always worse when the enemies had allies. "Good job, Axew! After the Krabby now!" From where Axew had finished roasting the Crabrawler, it was a bit of a distance to get over to the Krabby. So. . . Shelly thought to herself, now was the perfect time to use a move she hadn't tried yet. To take advantage of any weaknesses caused by others attacking. "Use Assurance!" Axew rushed across the battlefield, though some might call it a slow rush, filled with violent fervor. The others were attacking as she ran, and she did her best to avoid the clashes between her allies and the Crab Pokemon, until she could get right in front of it. She launched into an assault, but differently than before. The Pokemon was attempting to take advantage of every opening, fighting unfairly. Aiming for sensitive spots, viciously trying to take advantage of blind spots, in general giving no quarter and showing no hesitance towards underhanded tricks. Axew Action: Use Assurance on the Krabby, 60 power, doubles if others have damaged the target.
  7. "Expensive, I'm guessing?" Harry didn't wait for a response. Nothing to do quite yet, since no one was seriously injured, so Harry drew his knife, holding it defensively, attempting to slash at any beast that might come near. Harry uses both of his turns to slash at Reivers with his knife. Deals 2d6+STR(3) damage, with an Int*2% (20) to crit.
  8. Prior to jumping through an unknown portal, Harry had responded to Lucille. "It's fine. Just remember, I'm giving ideas, and it's fine if they won't work. Mainly brainstorming. But that's for later. It seems there's a job to be done." "Huh. Never thought they got the old picture of Hell right." Harry muttered as he arrived. He wouldn't be much use in a fight, so he got settled near the arch, preparing to do his job for those who would be fighting. "Some kind of potion, there Parias? Nevermind. So all you need right now is for us to help repel those things? I'm not much in a fight, but count me in."
  9. As she walked away, Harry spoke quietly. From what he'd seen she would be able to hear, if she was willing to. It might be telling. He spoke in Tattletales' direction. "Well, there goes that opportunity. Don't know where she got the idea that I'd want to her to fuse random concepts onto a person. I was thinking a bone marrow extraction, fusion, and then reimplantation, possibly with some assistance in its spread, but. . . I suppose that's not in the cards." Even if he had been foolhardy enough to want to do what Lucille thought he was suggestion, where did that leave him? He wanted to be of some use, goddamnit. "Where the hell did THAT come from!?" After Harry had taken in the unfolding events, he turned to Tattletale. "Well, it looks like there's something that needs our attention. Sorry about the headache again. . . I will try to find a solution, but it's probably better to wait anyway." Harry joins the hunt!
  10. "Of course. Nothing without your permission, and nothing without a plan and a rationale behind said plan. I'm thinking we gather as much info as possible, wait until your headache clears so that if your powers tell you anything about that info we can also use that, and then contemplate doing something." It would happen eventually that they would have enough information. They weren't from this world, and certain principles, like the blackbox of tinker tech, simply didn't apply to them. Harry addressed Lucille, remembering what she had mentioned in Armsmaster's lab. Her tight grip on the knowledge likely had something to do with what she had said then. "You have a seed? Interesting. . . It would take some fiddling, but my thought was to create an implant that might be able to secrete that salve naturally inside a person. Possibly into the blood stream, I suppose, maybe as a part of the plasma. Pure speculation right now, but there are multiple ways we could get that inside someone if you could splice the snips of DNA that give it its properties onto something else. Like bone marrow. We could create healing red blood cells possibly. And it wouldn't require any head surgery." "Can you combine just the general healing factor with things? Because having extra fluid would create problems in its own right."
  11. "Thing is, it's a headache spawned from over use of powers, and if my analysis is correct, it's something that would cause long term damage if she got too many of them. Not sure it would, but since it's a useful thing, and we don't want long term damage, I thought I'd at least look into fixing it. And I actually haven't decided to operate yet. That will need permission of course. . ." Harry's eyes widened slightly. "So, Tattletale, if I'm quite certain of the cause and how I can fix it, would you be willing to receive a minor operation?" "Oh, and Lucille, before you leave, would the healing properties of that plant be considered magic? If it isn't, it might be possible to create the active ingredient without needing a tree. Course it's probably just magic. . . And Proditor, a psionic link? Some sort of long range telepathy or something? Interesting. So there's some type of communication going on with something to grant these powers."
  12. "I will target the woman with the medicine." Ena stated in a monotone. It didn't seem to be aimed at anyone in particular, but instead it seemed to simply be an attempt to get information to any allies who might be close that could make use of that info. Ena will try to shoot Moira. The DMR deals 2d6+INT=2d6+8 damage with an INT*2%=16% crit chance. Also gets a +4 to damage from High Resolution.
  13. "Alright, so basically, thinker parahumans get a headache when they use their powers too much. I accidentally gave one to Tattletale and I've been investigating it slash contemplating a way too prevent them. Current working theory is that something in the parahumans brain requires a lot of oxygen, and increased blood flow too the brain causes inflammation. I'm considering trying to surgically increase the flexibility of the brain tissue, or decrease the blood consumption by increasing the oxygen storing capacity, to put it simply." Harry paused a moment, looking back over the notes he had taken on his tablet. "If either of you can provide info on parahuman powers, whether that be through your magic or something you learned on earth bet, that would be great. Also might be helpful if you have any magic or whatnot that would generally make thing safer. I'm a bit hesitant to operate without precautions here."
  14. Harry, after a brief checkup came to the conclusion that Tattletale's problem was due to increased blood flow in the brain. He was currently considering and leaning toward attempting to, in layman's terms, to either increase the elasticity of blood vessels, or increase the oxygen efficiency of blood in general. But he wasn't in any way certain, so he called out down the bus. "Does anyone have any medical training or magic that I could get assistance from? Or information on parahuman powers? Help would be appreciated, since I want to do what I'm planning safely."
  15. "Oh, shit. Sorry about that. I didn't mean. . . I was curious what you knew in general." Harry stared at her, a pained expression on his face. Soma had mentioned Thinker headaches before. And there was apparently nothing that could be done about them, from that world's perspective. "Soma mentioned that there's no known way to relieve them, and that general pain medication doesn't do any good, and can cause problems? Sounds like a goal to figure out. Again, sorry about that." He couldn't think of any rational reason why a parahuman would get an embolism directly from painkillers. More likely then, it was simply that they continued to use their powers while on the painkillers, and suffered the adverse effects anyway. So for now, he'd have to look at figuring out how to stop the problem at its source. "How long do the headaches last for you normally? And can you easily prevent yourself from using your power?" Harry ushered her over to the small makeshift medbay, and pointed for her to sit down on one of the seats.
  16. Harry watched the vision play out in silence. He had jumped slightly at its beginning, but he simply watched. Lucille, Mirri, and Frigus seemed to be the biggest threats. No tinker blackbox. That thing that prevented most other people from using mass produced tinker tech. And yes, Lucille had been a bit antagonistic, it would be interesting to see how she reacted their megalomaniacal assessment. Arminius too was a problem for them, it seemed. And for himself, Harry wondered, someone named Teacher? He noted that for later. They seemed to have a great deal of work to do before they got any trust from the PRT. Lung escaped. That wasn't good, and his gang was making use of the metal Kusuke had made. A figure in a hut. Who could that be? Another note to ask. Blasto was still looking to ship drugs. . . Then the woman who was on the lunchbox they had received. A prominent cape, Alexandria, talking to someone unknown? Reporting. Harry recalled that Alexandria was part of the top capes, known as the triumvirate. Who might be above them? and then one of the endbringers, doing. . . something. When the vision had finished, Harry stood up, to stand in front of the small set of medical equipment they had received. "So we've got. . . Benzalkonium Chloride, Bandages, Analgesics. . ." He trailed off, simply placing each resource in a dedicated location, well organized by function. There was some equipment besides the IV machine, and Harry made a point of familiarizing himself with the metric that the systems used, and any instructions they had that might differ from his own experience. While he worked, he spoke to Tattletale. "So, we're awfully threatening to them, yeah, I guess that makes sense. A little disappointed that I didn't warrant anything more as far as threats go, but I'm sort of glad too. So can you tell me anything about. . . Teacher, that bomber in the ABB, the person in the Hut, and Alexandria and the person she was talking to?" He listed them off rapidly. "And I don't expect you to know everything. Just checking in case you've got something, since it'll probably be vital." Especially if that was where the vision focused.
  17. "Not someone likely to be formulating plans in the shadows for your return or one to put a bullet in your brain on sight?" Harry nodded unthinkingly. "Do either Coil or Faultline know your face? If they discover Uber and Leet's broadcast, we might have to deal with attacks when we get back." He stretched his legs out a bit, contemplating getting up. However, there wasn't much to do. He couldn't leave, and he was already at the back of the bus near where he'd stashed the medical equipment. Nothing else to do but keep talking. "So has your power given you any juicy details on the drug deal?" The question served two purposes. First, to see whether Tattletale had actually been able to deduce that something had happened that way, and the second in case she had info on the merchants or the Blasto person the bioweapons had apparently come from.
  18. "Hmm. So it'll really have to come down to outmaneuvering him? Setting up two attacks in such a coordinated way that both of them have a high chance of succeeding. . ." Tattletale hadn't addressed the part about Coil being vulnerable when collapsing his timeline, so Harry made the assumption that the man knew about that weakness and compensated for well. Best option right now seemed to be too organize attacks far in advance, and then use a spy of some form to determine location and which attack to use. "Any other people you know about who might have it in for you, or us if you've got some clues that way, when we get back? The merchants are definitely one, but there's probably others."
  19. "Huh. So he can probably only control his own actions in one of these worldlines, right? Otherwise he'd be unstoppable, and probably already in complete control. He still has one hell of a safety net though. . . If we kill him completely in one timeline, does it collapse to the other timeline, or does he need to consciously drop a timeline? Basically, would a sniper a half a mile away who catches him unexpectedly be able to defeat him?" This already seemed like quite the formidable opposition, a man who would already have reason to fight them, since they had helped Tattletale escape. "Otherwise. . . We need to catch him immediately after he collapses his timeline, when he's got no safety net. Any possibility of that? Because we're going to need you if slash when we go back, and if we can remove Coil-- though we do have to account for that balance that you were talking about earlier--then you'd probably be a lot safer. No lead implants in the brain."
  20. "Sherlock on Adderall. That sounds amazing. Minus the whole excessive drug use because Sherlock and all that. I just meant the power in itself." Harry spoke as he assembled the IV machine. He then addressed Calvera. "I'm doing fine. A bit anxious to move though." It seemed that his anxiety was relieved soon enough, as they were on their way soon enough. When they had arrived, and the initial buzz of a journey offworld had died down, Harry turned expectantly to Tattletale. Someone else could get the odd phone outside the bus, since a glance out the window revealed that there wasn't any apparent ground.
  21. "Slaughterhouse 9. . . so they're the type to create chaos for chaos' sake? Just want to watch the world burn? And they've got a madwoman with the ability to wipe out the entire civilization on a whim. And she's just one of the people at that power range?" Well, it very much sounded like that was a group that they would need to deal with sooner rather than later. "Thanks. Sounds like an. . . interesting person at the very least. By the way, if it's not too personal, would you mind telling me a bit about your power, later? I'm guessing it's not just straight mind reading." She'd been able to figure stuff out about them at the PRT, when she was probably pretty far away, and if she had that kind of range, there would have to be extra facets that let her shut out stuff, and hone in on subjects of interest. "Oh, hi Calvera. Make sure not to touch any levers or buttons, by the way. We're probably going to want a tutorial from Uber and Leet before we do anything that way."
  22. "I see. Mind setting that down there then? Could you tell me a bit more about other stuff around here then? If you don't mind of course. Stuff about your group maybe, or your opinion on the local crime scene? I've heard a bit, but not from anyone who was recently active in it." Harry offered up the topics of conversation, then reconsidered, remembering something that had been mentioned to him earlier. "Do you know much about the different S-Class threats? I'm specifically curious--from a purely professional point of view--about someone named Bonesaw. She was mentioned to me in passing."
  23. "You're leaving to--eh." Harry cut himself off as Tattletale motioned her finger across her throat. He was in the middle of picking up the gear that Dragon had dropped off, so he motioned for Tattletale to follow him into the bus. "Mind helping me install this? It'd be good to have an extra set of hands and eyes." He pointed to one of the packages of sterile tools for Tattletale to grab, and headed into the bus. ((Assuming she follows) Once she had entered, Harry stared at her inquisitively, prompting her to show in some way whether this was suitably private for a sensitive topic like Coil, or if they'd have to wait.
  24. Harry had mostly ignored the small debate that had broken out, and he was glad to see that it had petered out somewhat. He considered what he wanted to do now. He'd already packed up all his stuff in preparation for departure, but that wouldn't be for a few hours, so he had some time to fill. Thinking of nothing else, Harry approached Tattletale. "So. . . excited to get off world? Scared?" Harry knew he was, a little. He had it better than some, he supposed, having left earth by his own volition, and having then been dropped onto this world. But the first was a minor thing, and the second was not by his choice. So now, when they themselves would be initiating a journey to another universe, he felt a slight bit of apprehension. "You're leaving to get away from someone named Coil, right? A cape? But, if you don't mind me asking, what does he do? How'd he get control over you? If we come back here, might need to be prepared for him, in case he recognizes you?"
  25. <"Goddamn right we should have enough good will for this. Lung, giving you some toys, stopping a bioweapon transaction, and cleaning up a bay that's been a problem for years. . . Sorry if our working with them puts you in a difficult situation though."> Harry murmured. It was odd, as she seemed to have enough respect for what they had done, yet still felt the need to report something that should be harmless. PRT was probably just be anal about that sort thing, he supposed. <"Yeah, I'll be needing those today. I should be able to pay that, though it seems like a lot. . . you're not marking this up for some reason are you? Ah, well, I'll be paying it anyway, so, see you soon."> Harry turned to address Proditor. "It's going to be a bit expensive. We've definitely got enough money, and since we're going to be going off world, we won't need all of it, but I'm gonna need to guarantee it's a good cause. You need it for sustenance or something? Main thing I can think of if you're combining digestive enzymes and an intravenous. Might ask to inspect you later again, if you don't mind. . ."
