  1. Following Kusuke's statement regarding questions, Harry stated, "Probably shouldn't need to take them to a hospital. If the kid's thing isn't sufficient, I'll be able to help him. Briefing's fine by me, at any point. Though we might need to send out a message to some associates if we're going to be out late." Harry thought a moment, recollecting something from earlier. He couldn't ask the man his name out right. . . "What's your cape name?"
  2. This was a surprise to Edmond, seeing the man they had been fighting not a minute before give up this information. The control was gone, he guessed. Maybe whoever it was ended the control when it seemed like the servant was within an inch of death? "Thank you, Cu. Two things: Do you know where these servants are?" It seemed a prudent thing to ask, as the scryers were said to do better with more information. Perhaps if they already had the location, the scryers could listen in on conversations or get a clear picture of how many soldiers were with each. "And finally, is there anything you'd like us to do?" Edmond asked this cautiously; he was still on edge from the battle, but there had been no casualties, so it seemed right to at least consider the enemy's final request.
  3. "Well that ain't helpful." Harry turned to one of the gangsters as he was extinguishing him, and asked, "Who'd Lung piss off? Any idea how it happened?" As he asked this question, he noted the arrival of the man on the motorbike. Law enforcement, or as close as they were probably going to get too it. Questioning might be a problem for their group, especially certain members. However, Lung was a formidable opponent from what Harry could tell, and it was left to be seen whether this new combatant would be able to withstand him. Harry continues in his efforts, and asks the gangstas what they know.
  4. "Hey! Kid! Green shirt! Got any idea who the Cape with the bugs is?" Harry shouted as he treated a small laceration on a man's forearm. Harry stays back, waiting for the evacuating civilians. He will inspect them for wounds as they pass, and attempt to administer first aid. He also asks that civilians if they know where the bugs are coming from.
  5. "As was just mentioned, we would appreciate the identities of Saber and Lancer, though if you have any more information than just two, that would be appreciated." Edmond scratched his head, looking around to see what everyone else would ask, since for once, he had few questions of his own. His mind was mainly focused on looking over the structural integrity of the bus. It was, of course, their main method back to the castle. . . As he glanced over the bus, eyes jumping from tears in the fuel line to the slashed chassis, a question did occur to him. "Cu. You either chose not to tell us anything during the battle, or were forced to. I would guess the latter. How did you escape that control, and is there a way to allow other Servants to escape?"
  6. Though it wouldn't really be obvious to anyone as his face was almost entirely covered, Edmond had just been sort of gaping at Magnum's choice of maneuver. However, as soon as Cu threw down his spear, Edmond made a quick selections on the HUD menu, and sent out a broadcast to LOTUS. <"Cu has been defeated. No casualties, and he seems willing to offer information."> Having sent of this transmission, Edmond approached to stand next to Magnum, and flipped of his faceplate, waiting for the Servant to speak.
  7. "You! Yes, you!" Harry shouted to one of the passing civilians. "Do you know who either of those guys are? By which I mean, the walking barbecue and whatever's controlling the bugs." Perhaps he could get some small bits of info from these people. Bite sized chunks of course, no one would be able to remember much in an emergency like this, however, it would also be a time of more unquestioned obedience towards authority, and people might not question why they had to tell some stranger all this stuff. Harry stays back, waiting for the evacuating civilians. He will inspect them for wounds as they pass, and attempt to administer first aid. He also asks that one civilian who these people are.
  8. "Oh, beautiful. Maybe instead of engaging with the Lung, we could just have a friendly barbecue." Harry muttered. He was surprised to note however, that most of those who had come along were actually doing jobs competently, and didn't seem to be just trying to attack the big flaming luchadore. Self preservation perhaps. In any case, Harry decided that he could best be of use by hanging back in the direction where evacuees were being directed. He could treat anyone who had been stung or burned in their exit, and maybe talk down anyone who might be panicking. Harry stays back, waiting for the evacuating civilians. He will inspect them as they pass for wounds, and heal one of them ((I'm wondering if I maybe should have invested more in DEX. OH WELL.)) He'll also try to keep up a stream of calm steady instructions and reassuring dialogue.
  9. Harry followed the group towards the pillar of flame. It would be an act of utter stupidity to let the team going to fight a man they had been told they could not beat escape without a medic. He did remember to call out to the native of this world, asking, "Somatatrope! Directions to the warehouse? In case we survive?" Though Harry wasn't offered a seat on the armored giant, he didn't need one. He wouldn't be in a combat role in this situation, and while he should probably run in order to take care of any civilians who might need it, others needed speed far more to engage the enemy. Harry jogs after the others heading to the pillars of fire. Harry joins Team Gestation Interruption, looking out on either side as he jogs along for people in need (not limited to medical, just generally in need of assistance).
  10. "I'd say follow the advice of the person who lives here. Try to get to the warehouse, get situated, and once we've got a temporary base of operations we can go and kill stuff if you want to." Harry carefully watched the pillar of flames. "That happen often around here, Somatatrope?" He gestured vaguely in the direction of the fire.
  11. In response to Kusuke's apology, Harry turned to him with a somewhat bemused expression. He considered a moment before speaking. "Look kid--Kusuke, don't worry about it. Of the habits you can have, asking metric ton of questions is not by any means the worst. Hell, I've got a friend who's worse than you are with that, we still keep him around. Anyway, the name's Harry Walters. Surgeon, battlefield experience, so I know how to tote a rifle, fiddle with comms a bit, and drive Strafe Pod." When Harry mentioned his battle field experience, he tapped a small black and white badge on his shoulder portraying the silhouette of a diving falcon. As they continued, Harry overheard Satomi's questions, and called out to give his own two cents. "Arms is right, as far as I know. Might be a bit different in my world, but Asia's a continent. The specific areas that this gang probably targets are in East Asia: Japan, Korea, China. And Japan is the place where samurai would come from in our world."
  12. "Nice to meet you. For now, yeah, lets just go take care of the boats, get the ferry up and running or whatever." Harry stepped off down the road, in the direction of the docks, looking back to make sure people were following. "Floaty man, Proditor was it? Can you detect other people's minds? We want to know if anyone is approaching or watching us. Maybe what they're thinking of this festival of misfits."
  13. "Dear god, I give up. You! Woman in the armor! What did you say your name was? You got a ship? Can we leave these people?" Harry sighed, and rubbed his temples. Maybe he should just go start a clinic or something. That would probably make things a bit better around this place. . . Harry glanced up and down the street, trying to see if anyone except the group of dolts was visible. He just sighed as the girl dashed off. "Kusuke, you don't have to get her. In fact please don't."
  14. "Well, this sounds like a lovely place to live. For now though, I don't think we're prepared to do any of this. Maybe the ferry, possibly the Merchants. However, we're gonna need to find interdimensional travel eventually. And that, is going to take money or resources. I suppose if we succeeded in taking down the one gang, we could set up a bit of cash. . ." Harry addressed the others, specifically the armored person, and the young man. "Thoughts? Also," he said, turning back to the person seemingly dressed in tin foil, "You said your name was Somatotrope, right? Since you're from these parts, feel free to pick what we should do, and if you've got any advice one where to start setting up a base of operations, or getting situated in the world, I'd like to hear it."
  15. "Look girl, just stay on the ground for now, okay? Did you hear the other Doctor when she mentioned that villains outnumber heroes three to one here? For now we need to blend in, and get moving. We can either find a place to sleep, or search for certain locations that I expect to exist in this world. Namely a library or a convenience store. Sound good? About blending in though. . ." Harry stepped out of the alleyway, and over to Satomi. He picked up the brush and notebook, and then cleared his throat. "Ehem. Why don't you look at those while we walk? We might even get to see them closer up! You see, most natives to a city don't just stand around in the middle of the street at night staring at the buildings."
  16. In response to the armored person's exclamation, Harry let out a quick bark of a laugh. "What that is, my friend, is being a complete and utter moron. Luckily, either the kid gets her and we have a stern talking to, or she becomes part of a long broken line of beings who died for the betterment of their species. For now though assuming there's some relation to this Earth, and mine, we're probably in the U.S., though that might not mean much to you. A few other options of course, but that seems most likely." Still at the entrance to the alleyway, Harry looked out and noticed the girl who had wandered into the street. "This is like herding cats! Satomi! Could you come back over here please? We're trying and spectacularly failing to keep something called a low profile."
  17. "God. Damn. It. Yes." Didn't he just finish telling Arms that they needed to keep a low profile? "Do whatever you have to." This was a city, infested by villains and heroes, either one of which could see this girl as a threat. Harry watched the girl soaring off, hoping that the boy, name still unknown to Harry, would be able to stop her.
  18. "Kid, I'm sorry to say I've got no clue what you're talking about. Look here. My world's pretty different from yours. To start, there's no physical way for someone to manipulate time like you said you did. It would just be magic. That's a huge difference. Any specific events you ask me about probably aren't going to be the same. Ask all the questions you'd like, but remember that specific names and events probably won't ring a bell, though you can try if you'd like." Harry smiled at the kid. Curious types weren't a problem as long as they recognized their penchant for questions. To the man trying to get up the fire escape, he stated, "Arms, a reasonable justification, but again, it's something that could be easily figured out from the ground, and with less suspicion."
  19. "Mid to late 2600's. Good to hear. Name's Harry by the way, nice to meet you. We definitely need some people prepared for an urban environment, instead of those who seem to be climbing the fire escape for whatever reason." Harry muttered as he glanced back. "You! Arm guy. What do you hope to accomplish going up there? Buildings are what, four, maybe five stories tall? Not tall enough to get a really useful view of anything important. Might be able to get the layout of the city, but you should be able to tell that as easily from the street. Less suspicious too."
  20. "Amazing. Couldn't find the time to answer even one of the questions, could you." No sense dwelling on it now though. Harry did a quick head count of who had appeared before striding over to the entrance of the alleyway. Using the fire escapes would be pointless. Even if someone could overcome the inconvenience of their distance, what did they hope to accomplish? In any case, this was somewhat of an earth parallel world, from what he could tell. Best option would be to get to a library first, and get a quick rundown on the situation. Then they could probably try to collect some cash, whether legally or not. "Any of you people from Earth? Or a planet with that in the name? Even someplace where they have computers, and cities of decent size?" If there were such people, they'd probably be the most useful, at least at the start, in deciding where to go. As he asked his question, Harry peered out the alley entrance, trying to orient himself. Which way did the city center appear to be? Were they in a residential, commercial, or industrial district? Were there any signposts, or really any written words in general visible? He might be able to work their location out if it was a language he recognized.
  21. "Would probably be pretty simple to demonstrate on something inanimate, unless you've got something that requires life. Neurobiological control? It doesn't matter. Frigus, you said your name was? Maybe sometime I can tell you a bit about the history of my world. There aren't any clear answers there, but it might give some insights on the idea of imperialism, and interfering with a culture for their own good. Or not for their own good." Harry had a few more questions from the Doctor, and they came in a slightly annoyed tone. The Doctor hadn't done anything wrong, certainly, but he was used to recieving more complete and formal briefings, even when less information was known about the op. "Where on Earth Bet are we going to arrive? Do we have any contacts on the ground? Is interdimensional travel something we'll be able to find easily, or will we have to break into some government labs?"
  22. "Heroes and Villains are distinct from their civilian identities. Don't mention Switzerland yada yada. Is the Endbringer still around, and are there estimates on the number of agents this being currently has?" As the Doctor spoke, Harry was mentally jotting down an abbreviated version of her briefing. Hopefully he could pass this along to those who were talking amongst themselves. "What type of doc are you? Ivory tower, or an actual medical professional or what?"
  23. "Doctor Ebon. You said our first mission was on a planet with great deal of 'villains'. What are the rules of engagement? Any other info that we should know? Local customs to respect? Gestures we can't make? General cultural stuff to keep us from getting ourselves killed." In response to the small girl or woman's resheathing of her blade, Harry moved his hand a few inches from his tactical knife. She reminded him of something from his history courses. The dialect was archaic, but it seemed oriental in some form. The language had probably changed a fair amount since whenever she had lived, but linguistic trees don't change so quickly. And of course, there was the sword. Distinctly eastern, probably Japanese, if he recalled his history classes correctly. Thus, he asked abruptly, "Are you Japanese?"
  24. "Oh, sure. Not that I've got much choice, but count me in as well. Got some recollection of agreeing to it, and I'm not going to go back on that." Harry, from his position on the wall, gave another quick scan of the room. Nothing much to see for now, though there was someone claiming to be an ambassador. Maybe he'd get the girl under control. "Walters, Harry Walters, ready to serve. Or get shot. Or whatever the hell I have to do. Hope I don't disappoint either."
  25. Before: "By taking a few deep breaths. I don't care what you think of foreigners. You can sort that out later, once you've got some more info. If you keep this up, you're gonna escalate things, and it would be idiotic to do that when you're outnumbered. Are you an idiot? If you think the answer's no, hold off a bit, learn a bit, and then decide whether you're gonna try to kill us 'foreigners'" Harry sighed, rubbing his temples. How did he get here again? He was drawing a blank right now. He knew who he was of course, but nothing of the last day? or so. Back to the situation at hand. There was something humanoid in armor with a rifle. Probably more powerful than the girl with the sword, but at least the person's ire was focused on the greeting party. Still though, if she turned too rapidly, Harry was prepared to try to close the distance to tackle her if necessary. But that seemed unlikely. He turned his attention back to the girl. Damnit. Trembling voice, small frame, hadn't sheathed the sword. Fear, more than anger, and fear was more dangerous. "Look. Just think about this right now. People are on edge, but no one is actively threatening you. For now, you've got nothing to worry about." After: "Well, that's quite the yarn. But." As Harry considered this option, he found a very vague memory that might be what the woman was referring to. "You might be right, Doctor Ebon. Questions then. . . Where'd the entities come from, can you give an example of what sort of thing we've got to do, and what's Earth Bet."
