Yes, but if you can't beat her then I'd suggest getting a Simple Bidoof with Defense Curl and Rollout. Deals tons of damage, takes very little damage. Unless she crits you.

It's very possible to interact with the Gothita, just don't walk in the little rectangle that you're supposed to stand in or it will trigger the battle. Note that once you beat her, you won't be able to get that Gothia ever again.

I recommend getting a Camerupt with Eruption. Fighting types will also help (read; Thick Fat Hariyama with Knock Off and CC).

Here are some ways to get coins quickly; Use speedhacks and battle the breeder on the ship, then use the money earned to buy coins Hack your save game and give yourself some money for the coins Play voltorb flip like Tempo suggested, it's not 100% accurate but it's the best way to get coins if you don't want to buy them, I earned 1000 coins very easily for TM Flash by doing Voltorb flip

On my very first run through of PMD Red Rescue Team, I was given Charmander. So I'd have to say Charmander. Of course I evolved into a Charizard once I beat the game and unlocked evolution for myself. -
