I've had no way of telling two different people now and ended up missing any opportunity of telling them. I still remember the feeling as a good thing though. I just wish I'd done a bit more. It's easy to say that in retrospective, but not so easy to do when you're actually in the situation.
Honestly Vigoroth, it is so different from the rest of its evo family and is actually useable in competitive. Slack Off + Bulk Up with Night Slash and Return with eviolite is amazing as a defensive set.
Going to have to go with route 132 in Hoenn, those water currents were such a pain as a kid,
especially when I saw an item on the island that I was helplessly floating by.
My first shiny was a sandshrew in Ruby, eventually traded it all the way to B/W, in which I used it and eventually evolved it.This is also what caused me to think of sandshrew/sandslash as gen 3 mons.
I believe my first reborn shiny was a poochyena, didn't bother catching it though.
Well saying a pokemon is "old" isn't really enough, oldest is one that would probably depend on what you believe (Arceus/Mew debacle).
Then saying something like Golett or Yamask could be "old" per say, but still not as old as pokemon that did not live side by side with humans.
I feel like this question depends on if you could *somehow* evolve pokemon that use stones to evolve because if so I would choose Eevee, because Eevee.
But then something more practical would also be cool, like Tropius, it can fly me around AND give me food.

I just feel really bad with the lack of moves these guys get, if they can't get earthquake then I feel like this is the next best thing.
17 Budew, 16 Spheal, 17 Poochyena, 19 Electrike, and 19 Monferno for this episode, although I can't really talk because of some sneaky moves involving the update between versions.
Kanto: Fuchsia City
Johto: Blackthorn City
Hoenn: Lilycove City
Sinnoh: Snowpoint City
Unova: Village Bridge
Kalos: Snowbelle City
Of all of them though, probably Snowbelle City because of the surrounding area, with a very close second being Village Bridge.
