I'd rather be trapped in a castle with cake than be trapped in a castle without cake. I don't approve of trapping people in castles to begin with, but having cake is better than not having cake.
Actually, Aurora does mention him. She says something along the lines of "Poor Keegan...he didn't deserve any of this". Although I don't remember which diary it was in. It might have been the one you need the archives key to access.
I've responded to the level cap suggestion before in the thread:
"I've been against using a level cap for Spork since before development started. I also don't think I should include one after an episode of the game has already released, as this could punish players who started before the level cap was implemented if they have Pokemon that would end up being above the level cap. This happened to me in another fangame called Full Moon, which added a level cap after 6 episodes (8 gyms) in. My Pokemon were in the mid-70s when the level cap was added, while the level cap for the 8th gym was either 60 or 65 (I don't remember which). If I ever did decide to include a level cap, I would make it optional."
In addition to what's mentioned there, I don't know how to implement in a level cap to begin with (again, though, it's not something that's planned to be added).
The re-re-upload of ep 3 which fixes the Talonflame error is now complete. The download link in the first post will lead to it.
this also fixes an issue I learned about while getting a screenshot for steamdevelopment of where to find Tinder Forest, where flying to Premoggin Softlands would take you to a mountaintop in the area instead of the Pokemon Center, leaving the player stuck. This happened because when setting the healing spot for Premoggin Softlands, I mixed up the x and y coordinates. So it's probably in everyone's best interests to download the recent re-upload.
If you're on the last gym, you would've went to the canyon earlier. It's where Jim was in front of the temple. The entrance to the forest is to the east of that part of the canyon.
Tinder Forest is reached from Premoggin Canyon.
Also don't donwload the recent re-upload, I just tried opening it to show a screenshot of where Tinder Forest is and got an error resulting from me forgetting to capitalize Talonflame's entire name when listing it as Fletchinder's evolution. Fixing now. Again, I'll let you know when the re-upload is complete.
I forgot to mention, but it may also be worth noting that in every city/town/place that has a Gym Leader, one of the TVs in that city/town/place has an interview with that leader. Jim's interview is in one of the hotel rooms. Specifically, the room to the right of the player's room.
@steamdevelopment Ep 3 has been re-uploaded with the Fletchinder issue fixed; the link in the OP leads to the re-upload
An NPC in the Battle Mall sells them. There's also one in a rock in Halloween Hideout.
(sorry for double post, I don't know how to edit quotes into posts)
You'll meet Jim later on during episode 3 content, where you'll find out more about him. Every gym leader and Elite Four will appear outside their gym/the league at some point in the game. With some this happens before battling them, and with some this happens after. (there are two as of ep 3 who haven't yet had an appearance outside their gym battle, and some who've already had outside appearances who will appear more in future episodes)
Scyther can be found in Tinder Forest. There's a notepad file in the game folder called "obtainablepokemon" that lists the locations of every Pokemon that's available outside the starter event.
This NPC at Bolaii Beach sells all the evolution stones:
There's also a Water Stone available from a specific sidequest where you interact with Aliora City's fountain and get the Fountain Pen, then bring it to the little girl in Ciansoa City who says "I'm looking for a fountain pen!" She'll give you a Water Stone in exchange for the fountain pen.
As for Fletchinder, looking at pokemon.txt in the PBS files, it seems like Talonflame isn't listed as its evolution for some reason...I've fixed that and am in the process of re-uploading now.
As of Essentials v16.2 I believe several moves of the same type share an animation. Either way they're getting replaced with Reborn's custom animations later.
Snivy was never intended for ep 3. The Pheromosa event isn't ready since SPB doesn't have Internet back yet. It'll probably be in a re-upload or added retroactively in ep 4.
Episode 3 is now out! Three more gyms are added, so the game now goes up to the 10th gym. Additionally:
CHANGES AND UPDATES:
-Bunnelby Burrows is now a Mystery Dungeon.
-There are now NPCs who can give you a specific item in return for providing ingredients. Currently there are two: one in Cianosa Cafe who can make Berry Juice, and one in Olidroll's Candy Shop who can make Rare Candy
-Gen 7 Pokemon have been added to the game. There's a notepad file called "gen7movesandabilities" in the download folder that lists which new moves and abilities are currently in the game and functional.
-Pokemon obtainability list and marble location list have been updated for episode 3. I also added a TM location list.
-False Fortunes sidequest continues in episode 3, with one more doable. The newest one is in episode 3 content.
There will be re-uploads of episode 3 in the future. Some things I want to try doing include adding a randomizer mode and putting in Reborn's new move animations. Additionally, Palletite mentioned wanting to improve on some sprites like Felicia and Crolea in the future. There will also of course be Legend Mode, but SPB does not have Internet back yet, so I can't say when that is. My last contact with her was on Saturday (it was a 1 hour free Internet trial).
I hope you enjoy the episode
I once had a dream that Nova had been my caretaker since I was born, but I started to pick up on odd mannerisms and I let her know. She slowly started to show a more twisted side of herself before trapping me in a castle dungeon. She still fed me cake every day, though. I somehow ended up in a boss gauntlet of 100 battles (physical fights, not Pokemon battles) and Nova was every 10th. Every time she'd get a few new attacks. My weapon was balloons shaped like small dogs/pickles. At the end she had a way to take one of my balloons for herself when it popped. Also she was extremely small and floated, and she said she was 60 years old.
Does it eat food? If so that narrows it down a lot, since we know it can't be a species of furniture, musical instrument, phone, tv show, book, video game, rock, light bulb, etc.
Crescent does have some mom-like qualities towards the player, like the "How many times do I have to tell you not to get involved with these people" speeches and telling Nancy she wants to see us smile. But the four lights of the light prophecy were "not born of man", so I think it's more likely dolls like Nancy can have kids. Unless Crescent isn't human herself, or man in the prophecy can literally mean male and not just human and we don't have a father. Otherwise I think Crescent is the mom friend rather than being our mom.
EDIT: I just realized all this assumes we're part of the light prophecy to begin with. Maybe we're not . o .
RPG Maker -> New Project -> Name it Reborn -> the project goes to the Documents folder on PC -> copy over all the folders and files from the Reborn folder into the new one in Documents including the PBS folder.
That's a neat perspective. I actually forgot to take into account Eve and Zero having friendship evolutions even though I did so for Noel :x There are people who prefer non-human animals to other people, so Zero could be like that. Maybe he has not a good history with people, while Umbreon was his first friend. Whereas Eve's biggest priority is her sister, so while she treats her Pokemon well, everything she does is ultimately for Lumi.
