So, you wanna play Pokemon Reborn...
Ice Cream Sand Witch replied to Timber Dragon's topic in Reborn City
My team right now is Delphox, Ampharos, Sylveon, Scrafty, and Gourgeist-in-training. Yeah, sometimes they disobey and use the move anyway. When that happens, there's a chance they'll use the move successfully and a chance nothing happens and the game says "But there was no target..." There are other disobedience messages where the Pokemon don't do anything, though, and sometimes (very rarely for me, though) they take a nap. -

With the exception of a few Gym Leaders (especially Serra) and Aster & Eclipse during the last two battles, I actually haven't found it to be nightmarishly difficult like it is for a lot of people. There are specific battles that have really given me problems, and they have some excellent teams and type coverage, but team matchups and understanding how the field effects work do play a large role in how difficult an opponent will be. Then again, I have 4 Pokemon (training my 5th) and have pretty much been ignoring the level cap because being below or just barely on par with the NPCs' levels makes me feel insecure and vulnerable, and I'm willing to sacrifice complete obedience for self-confidence. So I probably take out Pokemon quicker than most people and take less damage per hit. The four I've gone through the game with so far are at 82-83, which is also where I intend to get my new team member (Gourgeist) before the next episode. -

Which gym leader do you think is the strongest so far?

I had the most difficulty with Serra. Cloyster takes out a large amount of health with its 5 hit moves (it actually brought Sylveon into red health), and I could one shot it if not for Focus Sash and Ultra Potion. The only Pokemon I had that was faster than it was weak to Rock Blast. Avalugg has low special defense, but 2/3 of my special attackers, who were also the ones with super effective moves against it, were weak to Earthquake. Lapras is Lapras. When I won, I had just Scrafty left with 9 HP. Other ones that were notably difficult for me: Florinia (solely because of Cradily), Shade (because of type disadvantages), and Randomus (because of Gardevoir and bad strategy/timing on my part). -
Who do you hate most in Pokemon Reborn?

@the Victoria thing: I can understand her intentions, but I don't get Kiki's at all with having you climb a mountain and battle someone before you can challenge her for Rock Smash. Her reasoning was that it would disrespect everyone who worked for it. Is that really more important than the fact that children were kidnapped? -
Granted, but Hippowdon is even uglier than original Hippopotas. I wish scarecrows liked orange pudding.

Granted. There will be never be ice anywhere else in the world. I wish I was Snoop Dogg.

Granted. You become SeNile. I wish I could make scrambled eggs appear out of nowhere.

I think I found a bug relating to 14.5 that I haven't seen mentioned by anyone else. I was unable to evolve my Pumpkaboo with a Link Stone. I used it and it just said "It won't have any effect." I tried several times, even closing the game and re-opening. I've never used a Link Stone before, so I spent a lot of time searching and asking to see if 1) this was a known issue, 2) I was using the Link Stone wrong, or 3) there was another requirement to evolve Pumpkaboo. I couldn't find anything regarding any of those, so I went back to base Episode 14 and tried it there. I was able to evolve Pumpkaboo in the original 14.
-
Are there any other requirements for Pumpkaboo's evolution besides using a Link Stone? Because I just tried to evolve mine twice and it said "It won't have any effect." Or does it have to hold the Link Stone while leveling up? I've never used one before, so I don't know if it works the same as the other evolution stones, and therefore don't know if I'm experiencing a glitch or just using the stone wrong. Pumpkaboo is at level 33. EDIT: It worked when I went back to base Episode 14.

I didn't know about that since I don't have/follow Pokebank.

Episode 14.5 and the Eon Ticket for ORAS both happened today . o . Awesome.

Where did we battle Steven before the Pokemon League? I don't remember battling him before then.

I know that some characters are designed to piss you off, but judging by personalities: There's the usual Fern/Solaris/Sigmund stuff, but I have nothing to say that hasn't already been said by most other players. Bennett is like a stereotypical creepy basement dweller, and was way too influenced by El, who he had just met and done nothing to prove his trustworthiness. If I were Luna I'd have Bisharp pierce through his stomach. I don't dislike Kiki, but I do dislike how she was all like "I can't just give you Rock Smash because that would disrespect everyone else who worked hard for it". Even though children were kidnapped. The circumstances aren't "I want Rock Smash for free because I'm special!", they're "I need Rock Smash to clear the way to where the children were abducted by a dangerous criminal organization". Cain and Aya's mom is a bad parent. I find Blake to be both irritating and boring. Boring because of how apathetic he is about everything, and irritating because of how casually he does the bad things he does. I don't dislike Titania, but I do find her intimidating. She kind of has a drill sergeant-like personality, and seems like someone you have to walk on eggshells when talking to. Of course, it makes sense for a Steel-type trainer to have a hard personality. -
Oh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

I think I encountered some kind of bug. I remembered about the Mareep in the hotel in Gearen City, and wanted to add it to my team. But when the girl talks to me, she still says I don't even have a gym badge and haven't traveled much, but I in fact have 2 gym badges. Interestingly, I think the same thing happened with the Vulpix in Reborn, because I still can't get that either despite having 12 badges.

It was also Sirius that attacked Eclipse rather than Solaris.
