  1. My first shiny was back in R/S/E when I found a red-dotted Shroomish. It looked to beautiful I just caught it. At the time I thought my game glitched or something like that. My shroomish was different, I had no idea about shinies, so I believed I exploited some error in the game, and that was enough to brighten my day, at the time. Every 10-year-old would be ecstatic to be able to see this: When playing the game for the first time and everyone else's shroomish was plain green. Fun fact: it was just the second shroomish I found, and thought it was just cooler than the simply green one, so I chose to use it and grind it. As I moved on, I found no other, so it became special. I even kept it as a Breloom in my team all the way to the league. This and Swampert were the ones I kept all the way, while the other positions changed often. In Reborn it must have been a Woobat or a Spinarak. I can't remember. All I know is that when I caught Gastly, it was a blue one
  2. The Champion is simply the nuclear weapon the pokemon government has to threat all future criminals and prevent crime instead of battling it. The pokemon world works in fear. If Gym Leaders are the mayors of their respective areas, then the E4 are the small council, the oligarchy. It makes sense for a Dark or a Ghost gym leader to hold an E4 position, as you will always need a tactician that can think like the enemy does. A type is not evil per se, but your using it may define your character and your process of thinking. Let me remind you how Team Rocket has Poison as their signature, but the leader uses Ground types. While the E4 are made to have types to deal with any threat, offensively or defensively, they are also together to complete one another's minds. If we were to support your theory, we would have Lance as an E4 and not Champion, simply because without him a combination of Ice, Fighting and Ghost seems rather frail, just to present an example. Personally I always thought the pokemon regions lacked a police force or an army, because the only connection between the cities-states was their common league, as in, train the best to use as weapons against organized crime. If the champion happened to be the ruler, they could easily train, pass through the obstacles and gain dominion with legal means. No criminal organization has done that and none will, because they know that a general authority does not exist. That's why the champion never bothered. It's not their job, plus they might even profit from it, if they play their cards right.

  5. Let's address all the other suggested megas @DMK that's an impressive Dusknoir you got there. Only 1 question: How do we kill this thing now? @PhantomBima I like that Swanna. I personally would have given more bulk and less SpA, since it gets its water moves boosted by rain and a Hurricane that cannot miss. OU material right there. @Jericho Empoleon looks nice. I made some damage calcs and it seems quite balanced for OU. To my surprise, Zard X has a 18% chance of defeating it after 1 agility, given it chooses to DD the first turn, tank the hit and attack with EQ the next one. Common things that stop it are Conkeldurr, Slowbro, Ferrothorn (since you cannot spare a slot for HP-fire due to fairies, Weavile and the occasional Kyurem-B ) and AV Raikou. Not gamebreaking, nice stat distribution and the ability makes sense while protecting it from common threats. In my opinion the canon mega should look like this.
  6. I was so certain it did, I didn't even bother to check. Sorry about that. I still believe shadow tag is gamebreaking. Gothitelle, a pokemon otherwise residing in PU, was kept in OU till the ban, which shows how much it can help a pokemon. I suppose you pictured it as a means to stop sweeps or a niche pokemon for the Ubers metagame. However, when facing a generic defensive pokemon, which usually have only 1 attacking move, with the combination of Disable+Taunt, you can force it to use Struggle, and that's why I think it's broken for lower tiers. You get a similar effect with Analytic, plus the boost in power if the opponent decides to switch. ps. Do you just Google search those designs or do you have specific artists whose pages you happen to visit?
  7. 'Hey' she said 'When you suggested kinky superhero night you said nothing about an old man!' 'Sorry' he said 'Stan Lee insisted on a cameo.'

  8. I am not sure about the ability, since it makes the pokemon completely broken, but the general idea is nice. Also, it can also learn Taunt and Nasty Plot to deal with stallers which are both more consistent than Disable.
  9. You are so lucky this Eye-Eye din't use Powder Snow. It killed almost all my pokemon. Also, there are more zombies inside that building next to the severed head. Make sure you kill them after you've leveled up a bit in the woods. Just in case you didn't know, the last starter was a Paras. Since the egg can evolve to a canon pokemon only after lvl45, I suggest you don't use it.
  10. Playing Snakewood, naming my character Stannis. Then the prof says that his daughter and my older brother went west together. Is he insinuating he is Tywin? I doubt it. Tywin was smart.

  11. Usually when creating a team I begin with a plan in mind, and as I move forward I change things and end up with something different from what I started with. Usually it's when I build balanced teams and decide on a slow, yet powerful physical attacker with priority. It goes between Breloom, Conkeldurr and Bisharp. One could argue that they all fit different roles, and they do, but until your team is made, you can't decide, unless you need it for glue. Other times you need a fast revenge killer or scarfer that hits both spectrums. Keldeo and Alakazam immediately come to mind. Completely different in terms of design, movepool, even potential variations, yet here we are, comparing them. The hardest choices come in pairs. a. Choose M-Manectric and use Gengar to deal with stall teams .. or .. b. Choose Raikou for the electric coverage and pivot, and use M-Charizard-Y to wallbreak your way through? c. Choose Thundurus-I for the niche t-wave prankster, have your Garchomp get a fire coverage move, and use a M-Beedrill to keep a volt/turn momentum core? As you see, when you dig into this, there's not really an Either Or scenario, because not all pokemon have similar qualities. Even when they do, one is better 90% so you have to choose it. A few comparisons can be made, but they are most times targeted towards stall gameplay, and we all hate that. Eg Skarmory/Mandibuzz, Slowbro/Alomomola, Clefable/Sylveon, Cresselia/Reuniclus etc
  12. Breaking Mews!!! A massive explosion occured today at the major baseball game between the Kanto Rockets and the Kalos Flares! An one-eyed witness tells us that the explosion happened right after a ball was thrown and hit by a player's bat. There must be some bomb mechanism implanted into the ball, and the only information we have is that it was red and white with two dots resembling eyes. The death toll so far is 101 people. Fortunately some fans were saved behind what seemed to be the invisible barrier created by a... Mime in thea audience! The events are surely electrifying! Stay tuned for more information by Gossip Gardevoir at 20:20.
  13. Even if people make wishes for a Luxray and Flygon mega, I'm more inclined to believe Raticate and Eelektross will get one. The world needs to burn.

    1. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Raticate i could kinda understand, but Eelektross? That thing is hardly popular. To my knowledge XD.

Beedrill and Banette were unpopular. While true that most times it's popular pokemon that get them, the competitive scene benefits more from forgotten pokemon with just the right potential to provide a more versatile gameplay.

  14. Ever since Beedrill came out, everyone puts Adaptability on their fake megas. In reality, every single organism has adapted in one way or another in order to survive. Physically Raticate learns Normal, Dark, Psychic, Bug moves that are quite strong, has access to priority and set-up moves, and if a mega were to be given to it, I suppose it would earn some elemental bites. I believe Strong Jaw fits best with Raticate thematically and it actually utilizes it much better than M-Sharpedo. Anyway, since you gave me the opportunity, I'll post another one I had in mind.
  15. I suppose you no longer care, but Raizou-dono is safe.
  16. Bulbapedia does not include it, probably since no pokemon that has Strong Jaw learns Hyper Fang normally, but Serebii could also account for coding by having it hacked into a Sharpedo or a Tyrantum, so I have no reason to dispute that.
  17. Which pokemon do YOU think deserves a Mega Evolution?

  18. If you let this thread die, I will HM01 you. Mega-Raticate Type: Normal / Dark Ability: Strong Jaw HP: 55 Atk: 81 --> 131 (+50) Def: 60 --> 70 (+10) SpA: 50 --> 50 (+0) SpD: 70 --> 80 (+10) Spe: 97 --> 127 (+30) Mega Raticate is a nightmare taken directly from the deep sewers of Demon Souls. Compared to a normal Raticate which is outclassed in everything by everyone, its mega evolution shows some serious sweeping potential. The typing gives it nice offensive coverage and a secondary STAB that is also boosted by its ability. If GameFreak wakes up and makes Hyper Fang be boosted by Strong Jaw, you might see this resident rat on steroids pack a nice punch full of hate. It has some coverage options it can use, some of which are also priority moves, which adds to unpredictability. I do not know if you are going to use it, but I know I certainly will. When I sweep your teams with it, I will have the right to say: "You were good, but my Raticate is at the top percentage of Raticate".

  20. FraRPetO, This person did not even try to predict your moves! I caught myself screaming at my screen for some of their choices. You did a nice job breaking that stall, and this is one of the most rewarding feelings. It also shows how little skill stall uses.
  21. Just make sure you reveal new stuff every once in a while to keep people distracted. In case Azery does not make it on time, is there nobody else in the team that can continue the coding or work in parallel with Azery to finish it quicker?
  22. It was nice to see, but it does not make an impact as we've seen this psychological power-up fueled by the power of friendship one too many times. At that point I wanted a fighting/dark type to sucker punch Mewtwo, just for the plot twist, but of course that would ruin the build up they made for Keldeo.
  23. I love how they make references to movies like the Shining and Anabelle. So far I believe Ghost and Psychic are the ones they put most thought into. I was disappointed by Poison. I was expecting hordes of Zubat and a majestic Moth. Normal was the worst one yet.
