I could totally get down with a fire snake.

  3. All I know is that my competitive teams will need to be remade from scratch.
  4. Take your time and be patient about all this. The games are just announced, who knows when we'll get them. You might have managed to make a couple of episodes till then. Move with your schedule as if nothing happened. Until the compatibility problems are solved, make your way into mapping for following episodes. We know you won't have to implement the new features, but if it's something radical (eg Ice buff, oh I wish), you should go out of your way and code it in. Aside from that, no harm done. It's not like they copyrighted the name. Edit: /thread ?
  5. Well it appears to be true after all. Can't say I'm impressed so far. Yes it's a milestone and all that, but they could have a better marketing campaign. What we know is that it's featured somewhere around France, and the architecture points towards Italy, and Rome in particular. The design appears to be a horned flying type, hinting towards Normal/Dark/Dragon/Steel types. It may be the Zubat of the region or just a random one. Since a Gen6 legendary pokemon was announced a few days ago, we still need to get the full picture on what SM is and how they relate to Kalos. I believe it's highly probable our Gen7 is complimentary to Gen6. No concrete proof about this, but given the gaps in Kalos, the shortage of new pokemon, the lackluster story, and the fact that these new games appear out of the blue, I'd say we don't strike this possibility out. Also, better address the issues concerning Z (another copyrighted name in multiple languages). You may ignore the spoiler. It's meant for our new friend, AiedailEclipsed , who appears to be confident on their sarcasm, yet not so much on their arguments.
  6. I imagined it as one of the very early dinosaur forms, like an Ankylosaur, which were herbivores. Now it hardly makes sense for a plant to eat another, but I'd look at it from an evolutionary perspective. Large carnivores start to populate the area, so the ones most fit, survive. Our saur, let's call it Tim, is originally an animal closely related to nature that it's part of it, so it's half animal, half plant (a normal/grass type of sorts). It has to adapt to survive, so the ones that develop an armor and Axes on their tails (ceratin) are able to fend their pursuers off much easier. This one is somewhat inspired by Bastiodon and Rampardos, but more of a peacemaker than a fighter. Oh well, since you didn't see it at once, it's not it Tiger theory stays. It's a scenario so probable, I didn't even need to write down the reasoning behind it. That's not a bad thought. It needs to be a distinctive feature, so it's either on the head or tail.
  7. M-Heracross team is ready and inspired by GoT. Check it and share an opinion. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19958#entry485165

  8. ORAS made quite an appearance. The Hoehn remakes made every fan go crazy, since this is a region that introduced several mechanics as well as upgrade the graphics with a whole new map, evil team, purpose of our PC etc etc. Moreover people online were asking for it every chance they got, and frankly speaking, nobody is bored with them yet. The people do not ask for a new gen. XY made some gameplay changes, for the best, and now people are trying to become even better and explore all opportunities. For some at college, and GF/Nintendo know their fanbase, time spent playing is so little, they can afford to wait 1 or 2 more years. The metagame in higher tiers is pretty much balanced, lower tiers mainly need boosts to certain mons and new megas, but the poke-pool is good. Plus I do not think there's a need for an adjustment in the game mechanics. They work well enough and I am afraid certain changes might hinder the game more than they would benefit. If nothing else, a sequel for Gen6 is what you should expect. Grey never came out, and neither will Sun/Moon. It makes more sense to work on an adventure in Kalos with expanded story, features, maps than make a whole new one, and expect Sinnoh remakes right after. Apart from that, 3DS is a new console, meaning that upgrades would be needed graphic-wise as well, something the console may not be up for the task. At the same time, as Tomas explained, it makes no sense for 2 products to be released at the same time. Pokken IS a breakthrough for Pokemon and a turn to a different type of game, something unique to have when celebrating 20 years of success. Why ruin it with just another pokemon "gotta catch 'em all" rpg? It is just not a plausible scenario. Too much work, too little time passed since the last game, the last game was a success, there's another big project on the way => releasing a new generation is just too much trouble for the little profit it will bring. Let's just hope you are right and I am wrong. From what I see now, I'll just say I'd hate to see you disappointed.
  9. To judge those teams better, take a look at this I do not play this tier but my thoughts on your team are: 1) why not use Lopunnite on Electivire and STAB boost that Cross Chop? 2) Blissey is still hindered by Toxic. Is Sableyenite not better on it? That HP must not pose a problem even without the huge boost from Slowbronite 3) I would try Venusaurite on Klinklang to see how it fares with the fire and ice spam in this MnM 4) I like that Ferrothorn but better give it blue orb
  10. You asked for it, and a Lannister always pays his debts. This one is actually a tested team with M-Heracross as the centerpiece, and it's finally here for you to enjoy and give me feedback on. It's not a classic sweeping team, more of a balanced to bulky offensive one, I'd say. The members have considerable bulk on their own, so I focused on giving them proper offensive capabilities, as well as set the scene for an easier win, given how they come to cover each other's weaknesses. You may want to listen to this while you check the team: Without further ado, I shall introduce the members. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All I do is Tywin (Heracross) @ Heracronite Ability: Guts EVs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe Jolly Nature - Close Combat - Pin Missile - Rock Blast - Swords Dance This is the main star of the team. A BL pokemon with the ability to pack a punch. Strong, bulky, and fast when needed, M-Heracross can either punch holes in the enemy team, or obliterate it when it has reached its limits. The EV spread allows me to outspeed key threats before and after mega evolving, gives maximum attack so it can work as the ultimate wallbreaker it is supposed to be, and few EVs in HP to stay alive just a pick longer. I ran some damage calcs and it seems it makes little difference if I add more, so I thought I'd go all attack. Moveset is self explanatory given the mega's ability, while keeping CC for maximum damage. If that's not enough (Skarmory or M-Venusaur) I always have SD (also useful against M-Sableye). Used in all stages of the game. I just need a proper time to throw him in. Daenerys Agrarian (Serperior) @ Life Orb Ability: Contrary EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe - Leaf Storm - Glare - Dragon Pulse - Hidden Power [Fire] Pretty common set. Usually I have lefties on this one, but this time it's working as my side sweeper, revenge killer, water check and sweeper stopper before they turn too fast. Glare is a paralysis check even for Ground types, which means I can cripple a scarfed Lando-T or Excadrill or even a RawrChomp. This little pokemon is Leaf-Stormborn and gains power while the foe faints. A paralyzed foe is an easy target for Heracross to come back later and kill on its own pace. This one also knows Hp-fire and Dragon Pulse for maximum coverage. It's the mother of dragons that kills her children and if it has enough boosts, it can take some Steel types head on. Fastest pokemon in the team and helps everyone else go faster if need be. Lucky the IV spread does not make any difference, since there's no pokemon at 112 base speed. The Hill (Heatran) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Fire Blast - Earth Power - Flash Cannon - Stone Edge Ser Heatran is a powerhouse many think is defensive. Then they see how fast and powerful it can be. Fire and Blood Ground coverage cover several threats that come in unprepared for the sheer force they will face. The EV spread allows me to outspeed Tornadus and the moveset gives me a nice edge over glass cannons and walls, which are brought down easier, bar pink fat blobs. Stone Edge, even if hindered by the ability, is there for a surprize kill on things weak to Rocks but otherwise untouched, as well as gain some physical coverage to apply pressure on my opponent. Now things like Zard Y, Volcarona, Talonflame, even Thundurus (if I'm locked) cannot come in safely. Faster than it looks and equally deadly. Revenge killer and a jack of all trades. Thoros of Beer (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Volt Switch - Hydro Pump - Will-O-Wisp - Pain Split The dedicated physical wall. This guy has saved me so many times in the past I could only save a spot for him. Incredible typing for defense mode, great synergy with Heatran and Heracross, plus another check to Talonflame and a burn-applier. Yes, Speed might not be the only stat I cripple since some powerhouses are already way too slow, so I unburden them from their other tools. Also the residual damage is a nice thing to cause as I recover with lefties. Pain Split to beat fat blobs and regain power even from the hardest of situations while still inflicting some, Hydro Pump for hydraulic reasons and to drown common threats. Volt switch for pivoting, which never hurt anyone. It offers nice thinking games while stopping physical attackers on their tracks. Since it's slow, it can bring a comrade in with safety and do chip damage while it's at it. Le Bronn James (Bisharp) @ Assault Vest Ability: Defiant EVs: 36 HP / 192 Atk / 144 SpD / 136 Spe Adamant Nature - Iron Head - Sucker Punch - Knock Off - Pursuit Another very rare set for a pokemon that can destroy half the tier if played right. Bisharp is there to provide the team will the low cunning it needed to get rid of any pesky threat that dares challenge my sweepers and bulky revenge killers. Psychic types cannot get a break, fairies sleep with one eye open, and the surprize of pursuit and AV may even win me the game. Pursuit helps not only with psychic types that want to get away, but also weakened opponents that might prove to be a nuisanse mid or late-game. Defiant helps overcome the need for SD, so AV adds to my survivability and I tweaked the EVs around for maximum turns alive. 136 speed helps me outspeed threats like Azumarill and other faster ones that either rely on DD or defense, so I can hit harder, faster with enough bulk to take down 1 or 2 opponents. In a showdown between this Bisharp and a Magnezone, guess who wins. Gal Drogo (Clefable) @ Leftovers Ability: Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD Calm Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Moonblast - Stealth Rock - Thunder Wave - Soft-Boiled Another defender with multiple roles. Its decent bulk allows me to set rocks up or throw the occasional T-wave to stop sweepers at their tracks, S-boiled is for reliable recovery that stacks with lefties and makes up for the loss of CM, and Moonblast is there because I need something to attack Dragons, Dark types and Fighters who do not acknowledge my superiority. If I manage to reduce their SpA, good for me, even if it's hardly needed. EVs are standard, so is the ability, and along with Serperior, they set the speed tier wherever I want. So in a way, I may apply speed control with a team that never gave that impression, since AV Bisharp and Heatran bluff the semi-stall. Clefable has saved this team multiple times as well, mainly because it can force so many switches and lure in Steel types for the other members to kill. So all in all, that's it. What do you think? Feel free to drop by, enjoy a nice cup of tea, and give me some tips on how to make this team stronger or more reliable. Thank you for making it this far, and I wish you the best of luck in your battles. Sorry for the long post. Have an importable
  11. Which pokemon do you think I should make a OU team with? Weirdest pokemon that's also viable may get an RMT in the following days.

Ok I already made one with Heracross. I'll try to make one with Victini too, but it's quite limited.

  12. Shedinja vs Breloom thought process: Oh, he has a Breloom and the only way to touch me is to use Rock Tomb! What do I do... OH YES! GO TO TOGEKISS!!! Edit: In order not to double post, I'll post the Monotype replay here. It's been a while since I played this tier, and it never stops being fun. New remodelled team, with nice sweeping capabilities. Notice how he realizes, even if late, that he cannot break the sweep. GROUND UBER ALLES. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-335529807
  13. That was a grim reminder that you cannot use any pokemon you like with any random moveset in competitive battling and expect to go far.
  14. I'd say the major point that contradicts this theory is the prof. telling you that Johto "was a new region we just discovered". Therefore it makes more sense of Johto being a colony of Kanto than another country they fought with. It could just mean that the colony was not technologically advanced because Silph just came to the area and didn't give out all its new findings. The people of Johto are less developed and still retain old techniques of pokemon capture, like apricots, but they are by no means even suggesting hostile behavior against Kanto. You'd expect from a dominated people to contantly drop hints on the issue. This is not the case. The common league could stem from a common ancestry, but could also be there for practical reasons, since the two regions are so close to each other. We did not "establish" that the gym leaders and the league in general serves as a council. We just elaborated on the theory. As much evidence we try to present that hints one way can be rebutted by an equal amount that points elsewhere. There is no evidence that the champion or elite 4 have other kinds of power. When the people from Lorelei's village in the middle of nowhere are just proud of her being E4, they do not act as if she had authority. Also, please address the previous point that shows there's no logic for the champion to be a president or a figure of importance other than a military weapon, as otherwise a villain could easily claim such a place for themselves.
  15. Not necessarily. Ame worded it likewise to lure us into thinking that way. It is more probable that we battle a gym leader in this field under specific circumstances, or that a gym is somehow transformed and gets this new field either permanently or temporarily, without that meaning we'd fight the leader in it. In my opinion, it does not fit Hardy thematically to use the "Dragon's Den" as his field, unless Ame comes up with a draconian rock band name in which he is lead guitarrist or something like that. It is hard to devise teams and battle plans for Hardy because Rock, apart from Legendaries, is a very limited type.
  16. She gazed up at him and bit her lip seductively. Unfortunately it was her top lip so she looked like a piranha.

  17. I'll do some test runs before I post a complete review. In general the team looks solid, but I'll set some picks: a. I think Defog hurts you more than it does the opponent. None of your pokemon is weak to rocks, and you lose all layers of spikes and SR you'll have set on your opponent's field. So it will either not get used a lot, or remove residual damage that otherwise could win you the game. b. Garchomp is still going to cause you trouble, because it won't stay in to take Clefable head on. It can be proven bothersome for Ampharos, Empoleon, and Scizor, and if it manages to get an SD up on a correct prediction on Lando-T or Chestnaut, it might just end the game (you'll need to play the predicting game with Scizor and Lando-T to bring it down, and that's given it doesn't switch). c. Other big threats I can see are Magnezone, M-Zard-X, Manaphy and Rotom-W (although you can outlive this one) More later
  18. There should be a part of the video in which all cutesy fairies suddenly see a dragon type and develop fangs or bulk to chase it away.
  19. After having watched this campaign for so long and from a 3rd person's perspective (aka not Us citizen), it appears that the most logical plan is Republicans: Eat each other by targeting the already unpopular candidates, so Trump can prevail, appear more logical and able to handle a debate without losing his words and residing to sarcasm to avoid questions and challenges. Now you may have a chance against the Democrats who appear to steamroll through this race. They either need to start projecting Trump's ideas and specific course of action, or they are done. Democrats: Make indirect support to the 2nd and 3rd candidates of the Republicans, forcing Trump to make consecutive mistakes, in order for the party to favor Cruz or whomever else. At the same time Clinton should realize her position and force more debates, in order to make Sanders appear like the excellent candidate. This needs to happen later in the year, when the elections come close, and Clinton's abdication would send all her supporters to Sanders. He's gaining ground not only against her, but the Republicans. Given they are closer in ideological status than say Trump/Cruz/Rubio/Bush, she needs to get the Republican votes and then send them to Bernie, assuring a win. Right now, Sanders has come a long way through, and from being the underdog, he's reaching poll position. The picture Jericho posted has the fiscal policy as an horizontal axis, not the "wings" in general. That's what the following questions play upon. They mix social and fiscal views of the same matter, and as such provide you with multiple facets of the same thing (see Decentralization and Capitalism, as in Neo-liberalism).

  21. Follow-up news: It seems the Earthquakes caused by Swampert were not the cause of the collapse, since Blaine's gym fits all the safety quota. Apparently, there is a family of Diglett that have migrated from Vermillion using a branch of the tunnel that led to Pewter city, and ended up right below Blaine's gym. The perpetrators were caught having also emerged from the abandoned mansion at the west side of the island. People of Cinnabar are afraid of bigger disasters to come, especially with recent reports on the region's volcano being active again.
  22. Ame said we will see it in two GYMS, not leaders. Only 1 leader will use it during the badge battle. Hardy is most probable to use: Weakness Policy Rhyperior Tyranitar (smooth rock or lefties) with a mixed set Gigalith (quick claw for troll, or TR with Solrock/Lunatone but only one of them) M-Aerodactyl (hits so much harder than DD T-Tar DD Babiri Berry Tyrantum Max Def EV Lunatone with Amplifield rock. Other options: Armaldo, Barbaracle, M-Aggron (only if he makes up with his sister)
  23. The example of Kanto cannot make every other region null. Ok they established a dictatorship (on merit?) due to post-war problems, even if the region seems to have already recovered from those, given there is no city still devastated or underdeveloped. What about Johto? Hoehn? You can't blame the criminal organizations for the regions' lack of governance.
