Apparently, that italian comic I was talking about the other day, Paperinik New Adventures, has managed to gather quite a lot of fans abroad, and some guys in the USA are releasing a fansub, while also sending letters to Disney to ask for an official English release... It feels so strange to read in English a comic book originally written in Italian, which I enjoyed in Italian as a kid!

Wandering around the internet I found out that "Paperinik New Adventures", this italian comic book series I would collect as a kid, has now become some kind of cult object, and some crazy people are willing to pay some big money for the rarest issues. Uh, yeah, when someone says "big money" I kinda understand that means, well, a lot of money. ORAS's price is not exactly what I would call big money. Feels bad for you still. Are you sure your mom did burn ALL the issues? Like, not even two or three left? It would be still better than nothing at all...

No no no you don't get it: I am MISSING it. Not buying, not emulating, not playing, nothing. Too broke to buy (plus stuff happened), my computer is too old to emulate. This is going to be the first Pokemon game ever I will NOT play in any way whatsoever...

So, when a new game comes out, it is bound to cause some unrest, with people getting paranoid about overhyped new threats (not naming which one I find to be particularly stupid, because I don't want this topic to turn into a "lol dude you crazy? That thing is so broken!"), lots and lots of posts around the forum about how awesome the new stuff is (which frustrates me, as this is the first Pokemon game I am going to miss), and the new ladder on Showdown being swarmed by random noobs with 3 Pokemon with mega stones per team. So yeah, as it generally takes a couple of weeks for things to settle down and life to return to normal, I have decided that, in order to retain that little sanity that I have left, it is better for me to stay away from Pokemon-based communities (even a cool, relaxed one like this) for a short while. This is in no way a farewell, a "life is busy, gtg" or a "taking hiatus, will maybe return": I am merely staying away from Pokemon for two weeks. I can already give you the exact date for my return: monday the eight of december, at 22:00 GMT+1. I'll see you guys then, bye for now!

I always forget there are people from USA here, so no medical assistence for free... Well, I take my previous line back. But I still think that the internet rarely helps in these situations. EDIT: do you spell it "assistance" or "assistence"? I know I am ignorant, I just this would be as good an occasion as any other to finally clarify this.

Allow me to finally get this off my chest: it's the story of how Nintendo trolled me! *Plays Pokemon X* "Screw this, this game is made hella short, has severe aging issue, no replay value, and I don't even have a stable internet connection to enjoy the one thing that seems to be the final goal of this thing at this point, i.e. online competitive battling" *Stops playing Pokemon X* "Hell, I am not even justifying my purchase of a 3DS at this point! Really, Pokemon have nothing new to offer me, and I am not really into any other 3DS game..." *Sells 3DS* *Nintendo announces the remakes of my fav generation of all times a mere days after* FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU So yeah, I did use the money to get myself on some JRPGs I love that don't have such problems, and I am quite happy with my decision, but still, now that the games are out and everyone is going banana over them, I can't help being salty as hell...

Please, I am already salty enough that I sold my 3DS (well actually I am glad I did because I like the games I got myself more on the long run, but still, missing a remake of my fav generation hurts). Don't make me any saltier by making Pokemon games for a console I'll never own nor be able to emulate on PC...

Wait Reborn League is gone what? *Is always late* Nevertheless, I meant to ask the OP a question: have you been using Crawdaunt recently? If so, how does it work for you? Isn't Knock Off a wiser choice over Crunch this gen? Also wouldn't a Fighting-type move be better than X-Scissor for coverage (I don't know what Crawdaunt learns tho)? Because I have a team that is dedicated to paving the way for a sweeper... And no sweeper. Basically, I don't know what sweeper to use in the last spot, and I had considered Crawdaunt as a possible option. I just wanted to know if the guy is worth it in OU this gen.

In all of this, people seem to be forgetting that this game isn't even... What? Halfway through? And Ame explicitly stated in at least two occasions that we are gonna have multiple endings. Just because solving the optional event of the policemen gave you an immediate reward it doesn't mean that any other optional event in the game must give you an immediate reward: it's probably just going to work into the ending you'll obtain when we eventually get there... Another thing people seem to forget: Pokemon games are about the competitive aspect. There are no hidden depths to the plots, and almost no replay value. Basically, you breeze through the game and then work your ass off to gather the strongest things in the game, and use them to challenge people over the WiFi. Reborn is NOT like this. It does NOT run on the usual Pokmon game formula. So you should NOT expect the traditional "do this to get this" structure of events (which by the way has recently been replaced by "get a WiFi connection and download the broken stuff") either: sometimes the hard challenge is there to give you little alteration in the plots, the kind of things that are appreciated by those that are into into for the plot and not to unlock the broken stuff (and Reborn is explicitly intended for the former and not for the latter). Some other times, the hard challenge is there because honestly, the actual Pokemon game are so damn easy, we all crave an intense challenge for a change. And sometimes the hard challenge is there just because Ame is plain sadistic. These are all aspects of Reborn, these are all things that make us stay in this forum killing the time blabbering about Pokemon, patiently waiting for a working woman to sacrifice a relevant chunk of her life to give us a compelling game for free. So yeah, does it really make sense to have a topic with people complaining about other people complaining about not getting a reward for winning a (supposed) hopeless boss fight? Can't we just enjoy the game? Raging at Ame's repeated (succesful) attempts to troll us all is also part of the game, and the prize (or lack thereof) for beating Solaris isn't even the newest example...

I was wondering... Would it be possible to make a "serpentine" team in Reborn? Like, are Eelektross and/or Milotic available? I also wonder if there is any serpentine Fire-type out there...

Regarding, as clasified by Bulbapedia, "Pokemon with Serpentine bodies", you could go for Serperior (starter), Steelix, Arbok and seviper as "real snakes". Clawitzer, Gastrodon and Dunsparce also are in that body-type group for some reason.
Eelektross and Seel are in the game, but Bulbapedia lists them to be in the "Pokemon with fins" body-type group

Fun fact: in the valley where I was born, if a stranger drops by talking in an unfamiliar language (which includes dialects from northern Italy), he/she is immediately identified as "german". My grandpa once got in an argument with a tourist from Denmark because "You germans stole all my hens during WW2!"... To his excuse, I can say that my valley was literally cut in half by the Gothic Line, a defensive structure made by the Nazi army to try and stop the Allies who had invaded southern Italy and were advancing northward... So he really had a taste of what a war (a war with Nazis involved at that) is!
