Under the Hill - First Circle: Judgement
Flux replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Phantom grimaced as he entered the other dimension. It was difficult, navigating through here. The place itself rejected him, an alien being, and it was nearly all he could do to keep himself alive. Still, he would master this place. It would be necessary. This power... he was not sure how he had obtained it, yet it had felt natural to call upon it. It was yet another mystery to which he hoped this place had the answer. Phantom could feel emotions swell and fade as he moved to different places in the hall. While he couldn't see the people here anymore, he had a relative idea of where they were. There were small hints: murmers of indiscernable voices, swelling of emotions, faint senses of intelligence. By spending enough time here, he would be able to master navigating this place as easily as the other world. That was just the problem though. Due to the place rejecting him, it was difficult to stay here for any length of time. Already, he could feel the dimension pushing him, prodding him to make his way out. He stopped walking as a certain emotion pierced his consciousness. It was so strong that it became discernable to him, even here. Pain. He moved towards the source of the emotion, here murmurs of speech that abruptly ended. Phantom extended a hand, opening a portal back to the other world, curious as to what this could be and what clues it may hold. The portal appeared behind Mr. Taylor just as his struggle ended. Phantom strode through, eyes ablaze. His gaze moved to the dead man, before focusing on Marcus. He made no motion, but slowly began to speak. "Pain..." His piercing gaze was settled on Marcus, his eyes glowing red behind the blank white mask. -

"Rhea, did everyone go to help Roland?" ----------------------------- Rhea nodded. "They all left a while ago." She gave the necromancer a small smile, trying not to show how worried she was about the others. "It's good to see that your up. I did what I could to help your exhaustion..." She paused, giving a nervous glance up the trail. "Do you feel up to walking? I told the others we'd be down there as soon as you were ok." -

"The others? Alleria? Megaira? Are they alright?" ----------------------------------- Nash gave a nod to the ranger. "Alleria's still in the clearing," he said, jerking a thumb over his shoulder. "and Megaira's further down the trail. She passed out just after reaching us, but Rhea's with her. She said that Megaira was probably just exhausted." He sat back on his haunches. "We had a stroke of good fortune. The van-" He paused, about to call Crag a "vandal" again. He cleared his throat. "Crag saved us with something he had in his bag. 'Tossed it down the beast's throat, he did. Alleria lit it up with some magic, and the creature just exploded." He gestured to his charred armor as he said the last part. "You seem to be in the worst shape," he said gruffly. "You hit that tree pretty hard. I can head back to get Rhea to check you out." He paused, taking note of his own injuries. "I could do with a bit of healing myself..." -

I thought it sounded fine. I would prefer to stray away from copying other spell incantations, though. Also, personwithbanana, I realize you may not have been able to post due to being unconscious, but now is the time to wake up if you still follow this. Otherwise, I'll find some way to remove your character. -

Nash was thrown across the clearing as the wurm exploded. Shards of the creature's scales as well as surrounding trees tore into his skin as he was launched through the air. He landed on his back and skidded for a few feet before coming to a stop. He stared at the sky, unsure of what exactly had just happened. Eventually, he moved to a sitting position and ran a hand over his face, feeling over a particularly long cut. When he pulled it back it was bleeding. "That'll probably scar..." he muttered as he pulled splinters of wood out of his skin. He looked down at his armor, finding it scuffed and blackened by the impact of the explosion. He stood up slowly before turning to Alleria and Crag. He focused on the thief. "I see that you managed to make it in time." He nodded at the two of them. "Good work, both of you. That was some creative thinking." He paused, taking stock of his condition once more. "Just try to give me a little more warning next time." He walked into the treeline to where Roland had landed. Nash was no expert, but the man didn't look seriously wounded. "That was a brave move you made..." he muttered, unsure of whether the ranger was conscious enough to hear the words. "We'll need to get Rhea over here to handle any wounds." -

As Phantom was deciding the fate of the unconscious man, the boy began to move. Phantom watched, unmoving from his position, as the boy reached into a satchel. There was a burst of light, and a crude bear appeared. Phantom stood his ground as the bear approached. Calmly and with no emotion, he withdrew his sword, placing it into its sheath and strode into the open portal that awaited him, casting a dim purple light over the area before disappearing entirely. -

Phantom rounded the corner of a bookcase, having watched most of the events in the area. A chariot had just pulled up near him, dropping off the man he believed was called Ethic and the boy called Ixidor. He took a slow pace towards the unconscious duo, stopping inches from their crumpled forms. He gazed down at them, the red eyes of his mask ablaze, as if on fire. He drew his sword and leveled it at Ethic, the point touching his neck. He paused in that position for a while, thoughts passing vaguely through his mind, deciding the fate of the man. -
Under The Hill [OOC/Sign-Ups]
Flux replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Character name: "Phantom" Appearance: Tall, wears a long black coat with a high collar. (I seem to like these...) The coat reaches almost to the ground and hangs open, revealing the black shirt, pants, and rubber soled boots beneath. (For quiet sneaking) his most noticeable feature, however, is the wooden mask obscuring his face. It is solid white in color, with only two eyeholes breaking up the color. From these eyeholes a red light shines, its source unknown. Long, dark brown bangs hang over the front of his mask, and the rest of his hair is visible from the back. (A little longer than ear-length.) He carries an elegant sword at his waist. Age: Appears to be early twenties, but is hard to tell due to the mask. Personality Overview: A silent individual with unclear motives. If he speaks, it is at most only a few words. At times he is helpful, and at others a threat. Backstory: Waking up outside the hill with nothing but the clothes on his back, a sword, and a mask in front of him labeled "Phantom," a man enters the hill, in search of memories and purpose. Ability: Dimension walking -- Phantom will open a portal to a mirror "dimension," similar to the current dimension, but with minor differences, usually being a lack of life. He still shares a faint link with the original world, being able to sense the general location of people, but not see or hear them clearly. This forces him to use what he has seen before opening the portal to try to navigate around people. Cost: Walking in an alternate dimension is similar to holding his breath. He can only stay there for a few seconds (probably a minute at most) before needing to return to the original world. If he tries to stay longer, or somehow becomes trapped, he will begin to feel a pain in his chest at first, before eventually blacking out and then dying. Good? I'm meaning for him to be sort of a neutral party. Sometimes helpful, sometimes harmful.- 1735 replies

Blaze turned his head to take a last look at the two humans as he followed Nivia along the shoreline. She and Theo were the only ones he knew he could trust. The Togepi seemed friendly, but it traveled with the human boy, who set Blaze on edge. The same could be said to a greater extent of the other human with the Houndoom. She seemed like nothing but danger. Regardless, he wanted to get away from that area as soon as possible. He checked to make sure Theo was coming before turning to Nivia. "Um..." he began, unsure of what exactly he wanted to say. "What do you think we'll find at the mountain?" He looked at the ground as he continued his pace. "I have this urge to go there, partially because I think it may have something to do with an aspect of my... past, but also partially for a reason unknown to me. I'm not sure what it could mean... Are we perhaps being led there?"

Graterras Chapter 2: A Second Chance [IC]
Flux replied to Raindrop Valkyrie's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Nero wore a grim expression as he moved across the bridge, making sure to avoid the light that shone through, marking a fall to your death. "Nothing can ever go easily... This is just one of the circumstances of this accursed world." "Everyone close your eyes and stop moving!" he shouted. Without waiting for a response, he quickly muttered the words to an illusion spell, closing his own eyes and stopping his movement. There was a bright flash of light over the entire area. He opened his eyes and continued his pace. "That should have blinded them for a short time! Open your eyes and hurry across!" He hoped none of them were fool enough to keep their eyes open, or they would be in quite the pickle. -
Flux sighed, but nodded his head at their plan. "No mercy for an old man like me, huh?" he muttered as he began climbing back into the hole. He paused halfway down, realizing that he left his PokeGear hooked into the computer. Not wanting it to be damaged by the Leaf Storm, he quickly retrieved it before entering the hole. "Not like we have much use for it anymore, with the alarm sounded." He put a hand to his head and sighed. "So much for Covert Ops..."

I honestly think that Solrock is perfect. Shadow Lugia could definitely use more contrast, and the outline shouldn't be all black. Look at other sprites to see how they do the outlines. Otherwise, great job!

Lars grinned as he heard what Ray said to Clint. "All right, lunch time!" he shouted. He looked down at his two GAOs: the sleeping Abra in his arms, and the Nidoran at his feet, who would at least meet his eye now. It didn't really seem very affectionate yet, though. The Nidoran was giving Jory's Nefertiti a scrutinizing gaze. Lars looked over to Jory. "Who knows, maybe my Nidoran and yours will become friends. Anyway, I'm pretty hungry, so see you around." He gave a slight wave as he walked away towards Ray, ready to head back.

"Damn it!" Nash yelled as Roland was hit by the wurm. He tore his greatsword out of its sheath on his back, charging at the beast. His blade collided with its bottom jaw, getting caught in the flesh. The wurm flailed in pain, letting out an ear-splitting screech. Nash was flung to the ground, barely keeping a hold on his greatsword as it ripped from the wurm's mouth. He quickly stood up and prepared another charge. "I'll distract it!" Nash yelled, glancing back at Alleria. "Start casting the biggest thing you've got!" He charged at the wurm once more, trying to draw its attention. -

Nash burst into the clearing, taking note of his surroundings. Roland appeared to be fine, and he saw the Alleria was here already as well. This "wyrm" was nowhere to be seen. "What happened?" Nash shouted as he ran ahead. "Where is it?" -
"This is Nefertiti. I call her Neffi sometimes, but she's a real sweetheart. Oh, and Ray said she was called a Nidoran, but there was a female symbol next to her name." Jory paused. "Any particular reason?" ------------------------------------------------------ Lars' eyes widened. "Really?" he asked incredulously. "Mine's a Nidoran too, but with a male symbol!" He showed Jory the name written on the ball before pressing the button to release the creature. The small, pink creature came out and gave Lars a brief look before turning away again. Lars sighed. "As you can see, our relations aren't quite as good as the both of yours. He didn't like the name I picked and has ignored me ever since." He paused, thinking. "It's almost like he's trying to show his dominance. That's pretty common of male animals, right?" The Nidoran's ears perked up. Lars looked down in surprise. "Um... Did I get it right? Is this a show of dominance?" The Nidoran jumped up, making a small noise. Lars smiled. "You like that word, huh? Dominance." The Nidoran pawed his leg. Lars grinned. "Well, I think I've found your name."

"Getting back on topic, I cannot answer why the other Vanda is unlike me. I had the intention of helping him and he turned out to be a foe." ----------------------------------------------------------------- Gillem sighed. "I couldn't tell you, either. He seems to have experienced some sort of troubles in the past, but he rarely speaks at all, so I have know way of knowing even a hint of what they were. I'm trying to get to know him, to get him to open up to me, but... well, you know." He looked out over the empty desert. A small breeze was blowing, causing the top layers of sand to shift. "I suppose we'll just have to give him some time. I do believe he will open up eventually." He gave a small smile. "Don't give up on relations with him. I certainly won't -- not with any of you." Gillem began to think of how strange it was that he trusted Koz so much already. Most people would be suspicious of a man who had followed and nearly attacked their group that very same day, but most of the group seemed to trust him. Perhaps it was due to his help in the battle with the scraeth. Gillem's mulled over these things while he waited for Koz's remedy to be finished. -

Hence why I suggested not using a level system... >.> They just get really annoying and difficult to keep track of in an RP setting... Anyway, would my Abra have gained exp from the battle with Jory or not, due to its teleporting away? Also, how do we know exactly how much exp we get per battle? Aw... goobye to Keaton... At least we'll still see you around in other places. Good luck with your school work.- 1189 replies

Lars walked back into the training grounds with a grin on his face. He ran up to a confused-looking Jory before shouting, "It can teleport! Did you see that?!" He held Sleepy towards Jory in his outstretched arms, a childlike grin on his face. The Abra appeared to be asleep. "Look at him! You'd never think this little guy had so much power in him, would you?" His face took a more serious tone. "Anyway, sorry about the battle. I guess we can call that your win, via ringout. Sampson here's quite the powerful one." He gave a nod towards the flaming horse. He paused and looked over at Oak leaning against a tree. "Um... if you'll excuse me, I kind of want to talk to him about the... incident I had before. It was nice to get to know you and your GAOs." As he was about to walk away, he got a closer look at the smaller GAO by Jory's feet. It looked quite similar to his Nidoran. Lars paused midstep, and turned back to Jory. "If you don't mind me asking, what did Ray call the little GAO by your feet? It looks really similar to my troublesome guy..." he said, holding up his other capsule.

Well, he likes sketching more than painting, but then again, Smeargle does know Sketch... Although when you brought up Ghost types, that gave me an idea. I think I'm probably going to lean towards Gastly for his third (For his love of jokes). It'll help a little with type balancing for him too, so I don't have two behemoths. Maybe I'll get Larvitar later, but we definitely aren't to the point of thinking about fourths. Anyway, thanks for the ideas, they helped a lot.- 1189 replies
