  1. Best rule of thumb: partially describe what you're going to do so the other person can follow through and/or counter it. I'm usually not a fan of forced hits unless both Pokemon are dodging a lot. Since this is an NPC, it doesn't matter as much and you should destroy them
  2. @Turbo: Henry's not pissed at anyone. (If anything, he probably thinks you're all a bunch of idiots...except Claude). I was more referring to Jory and Claude when they talk to Ryan. Edit: Henry did see Jacob battle, but he probably wouldn't think Jacob of all people would do something like that.
  3. "I guess they should be thankful no one was hit by one of those things. I was lucky and the one that hit me held back when it knocked me into a wall. If it would've went full force, I might actually be dead. Still hurts like hell though. As for the signer, whoever used the move probably knew little about the move. If you use a certain pitch, you can put Pokemon to sleep without affecting humans, but it's not always reliable." Henry only knew so much about the move because of the Skitty he used. The neighbors used to use the move to wake up ironically. Henry's mind then focused on the battle between Danielle and Kristen. "Danielle, you better kick her butt for me."
  4. "I'm just going to leave now," said Henry after hearing Jacob's comment moving away until he overheard Robert's conversation. "Wait a minute, someone used sing that also put people to sleep. What kind of idiot would think that's a good idea?" Henry was rather surprised by the bit of the story he heard and interrupted the conversation. Normally he didn't intervene, but he wanted to know who this was so he could avoid them.
  5. Henry turned around and began watching the battle that took place on the field he was just on. I'm glad that battle is over with. With all of the hell that has happened, battling is the thing I want to do the least. I still feel the pain from yesterday, but that's not on my mind. That Winter Cup seems like a pretty big deal...but I don't think I should enter it. Especially after what happened in the last tournament. "Hey guys, you can praise me now!" "...I actually have nothing to say really so congrats, Claude. For such a loudmouth, you really do pack quite a number of surprises." Henry remembered the last time he said something to Claude, it ended badly for him.
  6. Even if you lose the first Pokemon, it doesn't mean you'll automatically lose the fight. You just have to play your cards right.
  7. @Zephyr: Earth Power does open a crack in the ground so you might be able to use that to hide and avoid most of the damage from the tornado attack. @Azery: (I had some leftover money in Paypal from over a year ago)
  8. I'd actually expect a Creative Writing thread to start out rather slow before picking up a bit (writing a chapter does take quite a bit more time than a roleplay post usually). But yes, I say make something to separate it from Roleplaying and the Wasteland. As for sports, I'm going to have to say no because I don't think there are enough people interested. I may turn my vote around if I see at least a large group of people who'd use it.
  9. "Zuko, return to me," ordered Henry. The Vulpix watched the Spheal slide into the middle while he was sliding along the border of the field. He released and Ember a little ways ahead of him and used the newly created mud spot to push off and slide back to his side. He continued doing this to change directions until he finally was a few mere inches from his trainer. "I'm not forfeiting this match because I think I'm going to lose, in fact, I still might be able to win, but my Pokemon aren't experienced in fighting that long and it'd certainly wouldn't be good on them by putting them in that situation so quickly. You said yourself you'd be willing to put them in that situation so there's no point in continuing. And here's a bit of advice: some battles just aren't winnable so you may as well enjoy the time you have left before they come around." Henry then turned and left the field while the Vulpix followed shortly behind him. Meanwhile, Paradox saw Zuko sliding around on the ice which looked like fun. She quickly ran into the field falling flat on her face. It looked as if she was about to cry, but she suddenly stopped when she saw Henry leaving. She got back up, struggling to run across the ice until she reached solid ground. Thankfully, it wasn't too difficult to keep up with Henry's slow pace.

  11. Fun fact: in the manga, Giovanni uses a Crobat to fly around on. Typhoon is only going to be able to carry Drake only a short distance for right now so it doesn't become problematic. As for the tags, they do help quite a bit because it means I can just skim them instead of fully reading them. The only other thing I could ask for is these (()) whenever my character is needed and I haven't posted in a day. That way I can quickly respond so I don't hold everyone back when I'm reading to catch up.
  12. Drake decided to finally abandon the group who stayed behind to try and catch up with the others using Typhoon to carry him across the air for a little bit. When the Crobat grew tired due to the cold, he continued his way on foot and came across the cabin. He wasn't sure who was in it, but he could hear people. The two looked at each other a minute and decided they could handle the cold a little bit longer and would be ready to take down whoever was in it when they walked back out of the cabin.
  13. "Richard!" yelled Emelia using her normal female voice. While she was distracted, someone nailed her in the face causing her hair to fly out of her shirt. She quickly took the man down and used a band from her wrist to keep it from hitting her face. She wanted to go over there and help him, but there were still too many gifted running around to abandon her task. She looked over and noticed the Reyn still leaning against the wall. "You there! You wanted to be set free. Help that fallen officer and I will personally ask for you to be let go freely."
  14. How in the hell did...you know nevermind. "Zuko, spin yourself around a bit while using your clause and follow it with Confuse Ray." The Vulpix understood the orders and a very scratchy and irritating sound while trying to stop. When he reach the edge he began sprinting with his legs thinking he was going to slide off when his claws suddenly locked themselves into the ground. It seemed like the Drought had an effect on the ice whether or not Henry had planned it. Zuko released another ball of light that quickly zoomed around the Spheal. The dizziness was an opportune time for the Vulpix to strike so he used this solid ground to push off and came in close before readying his head to nail the Spheal in a final attempt to knock it off the field (feint attack).
  15. Henry felt the sun finally disappear. "Sometimes stubbornness like that comes with a price. Zuko, just like in training." It looked as if that training with Tal finally paid off for the Vulpix. He dashed to the side using his claws to move out of the way from the water attack. He still wasn't done though. He jammed his claws into the ice causing him to spin a little bit. He then used the claws again to dash forward and stop once more. This time he was standing to where the Spheal was inbetween him and the boundary line. He began using the spinning fire once more to melt the ice. This gave him soggy, but safe enough ground to begin dashing across to nail the Spheal (Quick Attack). This was his one and only shot to win so he had to make it count.
  16. You already threatened and attacked an officer. Attacking even more will ultimately sentence you to death. Yes, you may be able to take the squad down, but do you think you could take the entire force? You guys just keep digging yourselfs into a deeper and deeper hole. Sorry for not posting, but I've been busy. I will post something tomorrow night (or maybe tonight when you read this).
  17. I'd rather go with tags, but only for the unimportant in (Maybe do something like why not at the top and bottom of the unimportant area. And only one if it's all unimportant). This would be a temporary solution until things start to slow down.
  18. It was totally worth spending 1,500 rupees just to drop the numbers in my user name.

  19. I think I made about 6 posts in the IC now. I'm just going stay invisible unless someone really screws up...again. When you're in one RP, it's not bad, but 3 is when you start to feel it. I mean I don't mind my PC, but it's not worth staying up late trying to catch up on posts just to be left in the dust the next day.
  20. "This battle is no longer in my control," spoke Henry. "Zuko, release your grip on the sun and let if fade when it wants to." The Vulpix was rather surprised by his trainer's actions, but he followed them anyway. "Now, don't use any move other than confuse ray and stay as far away from the thing as you can." He watched the Vulpix move quite close to the boundary of the field seeing a very tiny round ball in front of him. From there, he released a ball of light that hovered all the way across the field. "That Stockpile makes any of Zuko's attacks pretty much useless. However, I doubt it'd be easy to move with all that weight added on. So here's something I'd like to ask. How far are you willing to push your Pokemon?" Henry had a bit of a smirk on his face. Trainers, at least the ones he'd seen battle always pushed their Pokemon hard, maybe even beyond their limits. He doubted this one would be any different.
  21. I'm still going to edit it for Chim's sake, but I think an explanation to this strategy would be better than just telling you what it is (this was actually something I planned on revealing in a later battle). Burrows was doing two things with that Dig. The first one was to attack with the Spinner Drill move. The second was to dig around and create a giant hole trap which your Phanpy's Bulldoze would cause the ground above to slowly weaken. The idea of the hole is that the Phanpy would either have to go into the hole and become a flying target (easy to hit) or go around and give Zuko more time to try and strike his opponent down. The other half to this strategy is that it can be used to dodge attacks. Since it's actually not too deep, Zuko could pretty easily jump in and out of it causing option A to the Phanpy. (I would go into more detail, but I like to save a few things for when I use it for the actual Pokemon its meant for).
  22. You and me both Huk. Uhh...I still have no idea what to do (for now, he's going to be silently following the cabin group because I'm pretty much am going to get shoved out of the picture no matter if I post or not.) Yeah, I'm going to be gone until pretty late tomorrow. If this ever slows down a bit, I might be able to post more.
  23. "I was hoping to save this for your next Pokemon," griped Henry. He watched as Zuko dashed across where Burrows had dug underground earlier. The Vulpix was surprised when the ground then began to collapse and formed a giant crater in front of thim. Zuko turned around and then saw a round blue object charging towards him rather quickly and fired another Fire Spin this time waving it around him a little bit to hopefully finish it off. The Vulpix figured out Henry's little plan. If the Phanpy were to somehow survive the attack, he could just jump in and out of the hole making his foe and easy target to pick off.
