Pokémon: Aftermath #3a - In the Thin Ice [IC]
Commander replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
{Flux and Drake} Drake was a bit surprised seeing the woman completely unharmed, but he didn't question it at all. "Unless you happen to know where the others went, what other options do we have other than to head into Snowpoint. Seeing how well you handled yourself, I'm sure you have a pretty good idea how to get in without being stormed by acolytes. As much fun as the violence sounds, I'd rather save my energy for the conclaves."- 478 replies

Generally, I only dodge attacks if I have a pretty good idea what was going to come up. Ryan's Phanpy was going to try and hit me with Heavy Slam, however, Rollout seemed to be his bigger focus so I dodged that attack so he could pull off the other one. As for the Spheal, I pretty much could either try pushing it out of the ring or go on a very, very long stall fest. If I went with the latter, we'd still be battling as Zuko wasn't able to damage it and the Spheal was to heavy with the added weight of thick fat and stockpile to really attack Zuko. (And no, Zuko does not have Wil-O-Wisp unfortunately).

Sometimes I worry you guys get a little too carried away with this. Then again, I do get occasionally go a little overboard with Henry (one of these days Mareek or someone is going to punch him in the face).

[IC] Brailens Gifted: The First Gift: Premier
Commander replied to Felicity's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
"I'll accept that challenge," Emelia immediately responded. She never has and never will turn down a duel. "You seem pretty good from what I saw. Even without that green light thingy your skills are above average. As for myself, I'm pretty much stuck using my left hand since I tore my right arm a few years back. I mean I can still wield a sword in it, but not for too long. If I had a gift like yours, maybe my life wouldn't be so rough." Emelia blushed a little bit embarrassed to admitting she was a bit jealous. The man pretty much defeated more than double what she did in a shorter amount of time. -

{Flux & Drake} "It's Drake," responded the Crobat's trainer. "Not that it's important or anything. Now's not the time for small talk. We should find a way in otherwise our guide's sacrifice will be for naught. The two of us may have been split up from the others, but at least we know where they're going. The two of us might be able to take a conclave down together, but neither of us can do it by ourselves. If you really feel that Fria will come, then I have no choice but to wait as well." Drake stood there looking at the professor. He knew there was little chance of anyone surviving a few acolytes at a time, let alone 20 so he figured she used it as an excuse to drive Flux forward. Hopefully, the man would come to his senses and try finding a way in the city. They could only stay out here so long before freezing to death, but going into the city by himself was absolute suicide.- 478 replies

I sure hope it's plot wise. When you think about it, Drake could have a full team already because he'd only have to win about once a month over the 20 years Dawn has reigned. Then again, he could just be holding off until he finds the right Pokemon. I'll post something tonight, but I'm so glad to not to be in the cave group right now. That many posts would kill me.

Actually, it's one pokemon per 50 wins. Speaking of that, is it actually 50 wins or is there a certain point in the story where we get a second mon?

The last two rules I wrote aren't really that big of a deal, but yes, I think advertisement would fall under the regular rules so we don't need to post that. (Some writing sites encourage it and it does get annoying pretty quickly.) A better way of saying this probably would be don't spam messages to people to read your works. @Huk: That's more like a book series than advertisement. When you read the first book, you might like it and read the second book. Writing something related to something else is should always be allowed (if we didn't it'd be so hypocritical. I mean look at the site name). As for plagiarism, it happens very rarely, but it sometimes happens on smaller sites. Most of the cases I've seen are people copy and paste a story from a popular site and use it to gain attention on a smaller one. That's the kind of plagiarism I'm referring to. I wouldn't make a big deal out of forgetting a citation or using someone else's work as a reference.

I'm just...gonna go now. I don't know what I'm signing, but I'll sign it anyways.

{Flux and Drake} "Typhoon, hold fire," ordered Drake. The Crobat was a bit disappointed. It seemed that this one was willing to fight which would give him the enjoyment of ripping his arm off. The Crobat followed orders and hovered over his trainer who approached Flux. "You'll have to forgive him. He can be a bit psychotic. I guess it's fortunate I found another one of you still alive. Have you seen any of the others?"- 478 replies

Emelia saw Richard was bothered by the whole gender thing which angered her a little bit. "Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean anything has changed. If it's so troublesome, you can just call me Elliot. The only reason I pretend to be a guy is because people used to go easy on me in duels." She took a deep breath to calm herself. "Sorry, but when people act like that, it bothers me. When I started pretending to be a man, people never held back so dueling became fun again. Sometimes I get a bit carried away." -
You might've seen me around elsewhere on Reborn, but I usually tend to lurk around the RP section even though I joined it not that long ago. I'm Commander and I've been writing for fun about 7 years now. I did take a long break inbetween, but hopefully the rust will wear off sooner or later. As for my writing, I tend to stick to fantasy novels with a touch of sci-fi. I haven't written recently, but I am working on a project with a massive storyline that has been fine tuned enough times that I'm finally going to make a rough draft for it. I'll probably post a chapter or two and if anyone is interested in me continuing it I will. As for my style, I tend to do well with character personalities and their dialogue to a point where they are usually way above what you'd expect. And my weakness has to be not showing enough detail to fully draw out a character or scenery (there's usually just enough to get a picture). You'll see me quite a bit on here as I tend to always leave feedback whenever I read something (especially novels). I always will say one thing good and one thing that can be improved upon. Usually it ends up being a long paragraph and not just a simple one line comment so be prepared if I read your works.

I can think of three that you might add (again, this is more from writing community experiences if anything): -Be Respectful when giving/receiving feedback: I know the rule is pretty obvious, but it's usually the latter that's more of the problem. Whenever someone gives you long feedback, you should take some time to thank them and acknowledge it. Going beyond just a simple does go a long way especially for people who give criticism such as myself-Do not advertise your work in another thread on the forum Again, pretty obvious and pretty easy to avoid. Putting a link in your signature or the status bar I'd consider okay, but other than that it should be avoided.-Plagiarism will not be tolerated (not sure how you want to word this rule) Plagiarism or better known as stealing someone's work and claiming it as your own is against the law. It's very easy to catch and you will get caught doing it.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]
Commander replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Once Danielle's battle finished, Henry remained quiet watching everyone else move away from him. He was alone once again, something he wished happened more often. He considered watching Raiza's battle, but something else was on his mind. That battle I had...it was just like the last one. Even though I had a good shot at winning, I still didn't take it. I want to say I don't know why, but deep in my heart I know the answer. Henry looked down at the Vulpix taking a deep breath. "Zuko...I've been putting this off, but there's something I need to tell you. My dad just emailed me yesterday and said he found a trainer perfect for you. I know you're not going to like this at first, but it's for the best. You've been trying your best and improved so much, but I just can't chance another accident. Don't worry, your new trainer is very kind and probably going to be far better at battling than even me." The Vulpix didn't take the news lightly, but he didn't resist. Zuko simply looked down on the ground trying not to think about it. Henry was the one who pretty much raised and trained him. He had no idea what it would be like training under someone else, but he didn't like it. He really wanted to cry, but he held back. That would only make the situation worse. Suddenly, he felt something grabbing his leg. A little Togepi was grabbing him and giving a hug. He then looked over at Henry and saw Burrows had escaped from his Poke Ball. He was still weak and tired from the fight, but he stood there furious at Henry. The Vulpix couldn't help but smile. He was going to miss these guys...especially Gypsy. Zuko looked around, but the Venonat was nowhere to be found. On a small hill a little ways away, a Venonat sat there watching Zuko and the others. Truthfully, she wasn't surprised at what happened. Gypsy kept her distance because she knew this was coming. Ever since the day she joined, Henry mumbled things whenever she was out. The trainer doubted the Venonat was ever listening so he often told things he never told Zuko even. However, she was listening. She heard every word he was saying and understood every bit of it. If only he'd open up to someone. Maybe he wouldn't be like this. There was the one girl he almost did, but he took a great leap backwards shortly after. The Venonat continued sitting there snacking on berries she stole from other trainers watching to make sure they were alright. ((I don't care if anyone overhears what Henry said, but I'd prefer if they didn't say anything to him about it)) -
@Azery: When Kenny did it to me in the previous chapter, it was powerplaying (so freaking glad I had feint attack at the time). If a move is able to do that (I don't recall any attack being able to create illusions...double team just makes fake copies) then it's usually fine. For right now, one attack would break the illusion instantly. I still don't know why people are starting to use field effects. With a limited choice of Pokemon right now, they're pretty difficult to counter and not too useful compared to later on.

Pokémon: Aftermath #3a - In the Thin Ice [IC]
Commander replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Drake knew no one in the house, but it was quite odd that the lights would be left on. Maybe my group came here to rest...or perhaps some Acolytes use this as a base. I should prepare for the latter and so no mercy. Just then, a figure ran by him, but he couldn't quite figure who it was. "Typhoon, keep close to him. If he tries to attack you, show no mercy." The bat followed the orders trying to catch up with the figure. He was able to get a good look, but he didn't recognize him. For now, he was willing to wait, but if the man tried anything, he'd enjoy ripping him to shreds. Shortly behind, Drake followed and kept glancing to see which way the man and Typhoon went.- 478 replies

Even now, he still thinks I'm a man. Emelia made sure her hair was out. There was no point in hiding her gender especially after what had happened at the bar fight. She looked at the man feeling a bit sorry for the poor officer. "It's Vanderton. Emelia Vanderton." Instead of the harsher masculine she usually used, this voice was a nice gentle feminine one. "And don't be too hard on yourself. If I had to face as many as you did, I'd probably had been killed. There is something that concerns me though. You kept mumbling about a maiden. I'm a bit puzzled because I saw no one like that down at the pub." -

I'd really have to say Gen I's music is so nostalgic. The first time I hear Vermillion Town's theme, I just had my character run around aimlessly so I could keep hearing it. Hearing the gym leader's theme, memories of that Onix kick in so quickly. I blame Yellow Version for that. Probably the greatest nostalgia I have is Colosseum. When they introduced double battle in R/S/E, I wanted to fight in more of them. Colosseum was like a dream come true (especially with the fact Admins were actually a bit of a challenge...at least when I was a kid).

Weekly Reborn Newspost Intrest Check [News]
Commander replied to Rielly987's topic in Creative Works
I really like the idea. What I suggest is adding a seventh category so that there can be one topic each day to focus on instead of trying to put two or three out each day and having an empty day inbetween. I think Pokemon of the week should be separated into Competitive for the server and one for the Reborn game since people tend to use both. I like the rest of the categories, but I'm not sure how long the ward one would last. Maybe change it into something about a writers random experience in Reborn. Anyways, I wouldn't worry too much about it because you pretty much could change topics fairly easily if no one wants to write under a section. -
I'm not sure how you want to approach tags, but I've seen a couple writing communities so I have a pretty good idea how they work. Basically, there are two things that people usually look for in a piece of writing. 1. Type of Writing (forgot the actual term): Short Stories, Novels, Poems, and Journals are usually going to be the main ones. You'd be surprised how many people actually write Poems. 2. Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Thriller, Editorial/Review/Journal, Non-fiction, Fan Fiction, and occasionally Humor I probably could list a bunch more but that summarizes about 80%. Depending on how well this picks up, I might post a couple of tutorials for how to make your writings clean especially for longer works like Novels and Novellas. That reminds me of something. Are we making it so that a how novel is one thread or that each chapter can be its own thread.

I'm probably going to have Drake join Flux and Fria after they either defeat or escape the acolytes (he'll probably run with them not even questioning what's happening).

I don't know how stat raising moves work in Anime Style Battling (I figure they'd be small buffs and not double your strength. Small buffs do go a long way though). If I had to choose between the two, Rock Polish by a land slide. DD limits some Pokemon to random dancing to gain a boost, but Rock Polish has more than one use. You're pokemon might not move as fast compared to a DD, but it certainly will not take as much damage if you use the smoothing right.

@Murdoc: Actually they're quite big and unlike the games aren't as useful. They are pretty big floating rocks used to trap a user in one spot or take damage to get out of it. I guess it could be used multiple times but it seems more like a one time deal. (Probably something Chim has to decided on). You are right about one thing. They are sharp and would definitely hurt if you touched them.
