Pokémon: Aftermath #3a - In the Thin Ice [IC]
Jory replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Jory looked at the ground, shuffling his feet a little bit. Perhaps he and Shredder had gotten a bit carried away, but to liberate an entire city sacrifices had had to be made. And I wouldn't have changed a damn thing, he thought to himself. These people want to throw stones at the few of us who are brave enough to fight against Dawn's tyranny? Then they can rot in hell. He began to scan the room, looking toward Unit Sylveon's newer members. His eyes lingered on one particularly disgruntled looking guy. He doesn't even look like he wants to be here. If he is unsure of his ideals, then he'll never survive the battle for Snowpoint. Especially not after what we saw of Gardenia. He decided to approach the newcomer. Perhaps a veteran's opinion might change his thoughts on the matter. "Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. You must be new. I'm Jory," he said quickly, extending his hand. "Welcome to Unit S."- 478 replies

Pokémon Academy: Ch 2a: Dragons [IC]
Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Jacob was very surprised that the Skrelp was able to manage another attack. However, he had a plan. Well, not exactly a plan. More like 'rinse and repeat,' he thought to himself. He then looked to his Togepi once more. "Arete, finish this fight! Use Extrasensory! You can take that hit, I know it!" he said encouragingly. The Togepi's eyes and stubs began to glow yellow once more and Arete fired another rainbow-colored beam at the fatigued Poison-type. The attacks passed one another in the air and the Acid landed squarely on Arete, knocking her backward and causing her to land on her back. The Togepi flailed helplessly on the floor, unable to get off her back as her attack sped toward the Skrelp. -

Yeah bro just read the RP... -
I think if he also had some kind of tower shield that'd be pretty neat.

Also, I don't want you guys thinking I'm gonna go pulling stuff like that Aeroblast out of my butt against other Trainers. I figured since it was a random encounter and Arete's first battle I might as well have a little fun with it.
-
Fun fact: When I first played Gold version I was down to my Togepi against Whitney's Miltank and rolled an Aeroblast from Metronome to finish it off. Best feeling EVER.

Jacob smiled as the Skrelp fired an Acid in Arete's direction. Her first defensive action! he thought excitedly. "Arete, use Metronome!" he said quickly. I hope this works better than last time! was the only thing that went through his mind as the Togepi's stubby little arms began to wave back and forth. He sent a silent prayer to whatever might be listening as time appeared to slow down. Just before the Acid attack hit, a blinding flash of light exploded from the Togepi's arm stubs followed by a huge vortex of wind that threw the Acid away from Arete and tore across the lake toward the Skrelp, throwing up a huge amount of water on either side of it. Jacob's jaw dropped as he watched the Aeroblast get fired from the seemingly harmless egg Pokemon. "Holy shit..." he muttered, unable to react any other way. -

Dru began to run toward the treeline, every fiber of his being screaming at him to get the hell away from whatever this Grave Earth was. He moved surprisingly quickly, his cloak lifting behind him in the breeze as he followed Jupiter. Well, I have apologies to make, he thought to himself as he looked back toward the group, making sure they were keeping pace.

Jacob grinned, then panic overcame his face as he ducked to avoid a stray Water Pulse. "Alright, that does it! Arete, use Extrasensory on this little prankster!" he ordered, a touch of anger beginning to enter his voice. I frickin' hate getting wet with clothes on! he thought to himself. Arete looked toward the Skrelp and began to concentrate hard. Her eyes and little finger nubs began to glow yellow. Finally, she released a rainbow-hued beam of Psychic energy toward the would-be Dragon-type, hoping to hit it hard. -
Dru shook his head at Jupiter. "We can't risk them dying on this soil. If you have fowl hunting arrows, use those. If not, I ask that you refrain from putting holes in them. If even one dies, we may find ourselves in more trouble than if we have to fight off a few gnolls by hand." ((We can't risk them bleeding out))

The whole time I couldn't help but feel bad for Zinnia. She was trying to save the region and yet no one would listen to her. Although I have to say that if she had simply told the Key Stone users her plans post-Aqua/Magma arc I'm sure they would have happily just given them to her...
-
Dru looked at Jupiter, mildly annoyed that she had evidently not heard the urgency in his voice but understanding the need for caution. "I suggest we make for the open field immediately. Should we run into any resistance, no lethal force should be used. And do try to keep them off the ground. Now let's go," he said quickly, waiting for the others to confirm his suggested course of action.

Dru felt extremely ill as he severed his connection from the Earth entirely for the first time in many years. The lack of its life-giving energy was... disturbing, to say the least. It felt as though a part of him had been hidden away, pushed aside to make room for something that simply was not there. He looked gravely at the rest of the party. He then turned specifically to Marcus. "No, friend, I am not 'okay.' What these foul creatures have done to this Earth is the most foul transgression that I have ever witnessed. To me it is an abomination that rivals the simple existence of the Gentleman." He breathed heavily, his skin beginning to return to its normal pallor. He felt nothing but anger welling up as he struggled to control his emotions, and could only imagine what Brass would say were he with the party. The sorcerer shuddered as he began speaking. "This Earth is unnatural. It is... hungry. It has consumed the souls of all the dead of this town and yearns for yet more. And the most horrifying part of it all is the fact that with each soul it swallows it seems to grow in strength. Only my expertise allowed me to survive convening with it. We need to leave this place as soon as possible. My magic is useless here. I have severed my connection to the Earth for now. We must leave." He looked to his friends and repeated himself once more. "We must leave this place."

I PM'd rustytengo and Flux about potentially taking over Beverly since RT's activity has been pretty nonexistent as of late. Also posted a reply in the thread. Let's keep this from dying, folks. I really like it UPDATE: Just heard from RT! He's been free more often lately, so he hopes to be more active. As such, after Beverly leaves the room with the guy any bunnying will cease. -

Jacob smiled at Mareek, relief evident on his face. "Thanks for the assist, Mareek. I love Pokemon, but I'm not about getting them all over my clothes. Unless it's for this little guy," he said, chuckling as Spitfyre breathed a little ball of fire after the Goodras had gone away. He then looked at the other Trainer, studying him for a moment. "You know, I've seen you battle. You're pretty good! So I was wondering if you had any advice about-" he began, but was cut off by a Water Pulse hitting him directly in the face and knocking him over. He sat up and blinked several times, shaking his hair out to dry it as he tried to process what had just happened. "But I... How did...?" he began before he spotted the offending Skrelp in the water. However, the Trainer couldn't help but laugh. Of all things, a Skrelp had hit him? He shook his head and stood up, unable to believe his good fortune. "You know what? This is the perfect opportunity for me to train one of my new Pokemon!" he said excitedly, ignoring the fact that his shirt was now completely soaked. He took a Ball off his belt and threw it in the air, releasing Arete in a flash of light. The Togepi gave a happy cry and immediately ran over to her Trainer, clinging tightly to his leg with a huge smile on her face. Jacob chuckled lightly and picked up the Togepi, beaming at the little egg's enthusiasm. "Hey, Arete! You're about to have your first battle! Are you excited or what?" "Pi! Toge-pi!" she replied excitedly. Jacob nodded. "That's the right answer, Arete! Now let's show this Skrelp what happens when you mess with an Ymora Academy Trainer, huh?" he said as he put the Togepi down. Arete screwed her face up into the meanest game face she could, which was nothing short of adorable. "Alright, Skrelp. Let's see how you like it when someone returns fire!" The Trainer took out his Pokedex and quickly scanned Arete. Hmm... Extrasensory, Metronome, Sweet Kiss, and Charm? That can work pretty nicely, actually. But let's keep this interesting. "Arete, use Metronome!" he ordered. Arete waved her stubby little egg arms back and forth. They began to glow with a mystical light, the pale aura casting a menacing shadow over the Togepi's face. "To... ge... pi!" she cried, releasing the built up power of the mysterious move in one huge flash of light. Jacob excitedly shielded his eyes, then looked back at his Pokemon to see her... Splashing on the shoreline. Jacob immediately facepalmed. "Alright, screw it. Use Sweet Kiss to confuse it!" The Togepi blew a kiss toward the Skrelp, a large set of pink lips flying toward the Poison-type. -

Dru chanted under his breath, willing the Earth to soften slightly under the party so as to muffle their footsteps. He put a foot out the door and on the ground and peered around the corner, using his Earth magic to feel for the enemies' positions.

Poke-people: Chapter 2: Your first Exam
Jory replied to grasssnake485's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
The Scout leapt over the edge of the boat, a wicked grin on his face as a group of surprised Team Shadow members began to rush toward him. A deep red aura began to surround Sonny and he became visibly larger, his muscles bulging underneath his uniform. He briefly considered drawing his sword, but decided against it and cracked his knuckles. "So, who's first?" he asked sarcastically as the Team Shadow members reached him. The first one received a straight right to the face, crumpling immediately to the floor. As two more closed in the Scout jumped at one, kicking him hard in the chest and springboarding off of him to deliver a superman punch to the next. He ducked under a wild swing from a Team Shadow member and his amulet glowed, releasing Rayleigh from its confines. The Sawsbuck mule kicked the enemy to the floor and then turned toward the rest of the crowd. Suddenly, the Scout and his Pokemon seemed to fuse together, Sonny's form visible underneath a coat of thick fur and antler's. He drew his hands back and grinned. "I'm glad it's so sunny today!" he said, thrusting them forward and releasing a powerful Solarbeam at the remainder of the Team Shadow members. Many of them were sent flying overboard and a huge hole was blown in the safety railing, with many others crumpled unconscious on the deck. Sonny brushed his hands against each other, a bored look on his face. "I honestly expected you guys to put up a better fight. I certainly hope you all don't try something like that against Alina. Even I'm afraid of her sometimes." He then looked up toward the shore, where he saw Alina freezing the water. Slow. Typical Alina. If she's not teleporting, she's being lazy, he thought to himself sarcastically. I'm just glad I was able to use Tuatara's legs to run to this boat more quickly. Now I can get back to the beach and help her out. The Scout's legs shimmered and turned into ones resembling Rayleigh's and he leapt high in the air, sailing toward the shore. He made a small crater on impact and smiled over at the stand-in headmistress of the Academy. "You already missed out on a boat, Alina. Now hurry up before you miss out on a chance to really take your anger out on these guys." -
Jory nodded Lars in Logan's direction. "Stay on comms, Lars. Once we get closer we'll need both you and Logan in the thick of it with us. You have five minutes to patch up the bird, then I want you oscar mike. Got it?"

I like this idea, although I think the idea of the type being "aphotic" should apply mostly to Dark-type attacks. The organisms themselves might be giving off some kind of null energy field that prevents light from acting as it normally does.- 1189 replies

[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Jory replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
This is my point. Grass/Poison types should probably take NFE or neutral damage from Bugs, as when they are bitten they would poison the attacker. I broadly assume Grass/Poison to have Grass body structure with Poison interior. Then again, we're drawing up broad rules. Oftentimes I think we'll need to decide on a case-by-case basis as a group using what we decide now as a guideline.- 1189 replies

Sometimes things come up. I know that for 4 days a couple of weeks ago I was so depressed that I couldn't bring myself to boot up my laptop for anything other than drowning my sorrow in a sea of Netflix.

Jory replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Jacob looked to Mareek and then to the Goodra, smiling nervously. These things sure are big... and gooey... and friendly! he thought to himself, shying away from a nearby Goodra's dripping body. Spitfyre also recoiled, standing behind Jacob's legs. Teo had been returned to his ball on the way to the lake, but Jacob figured some time out of his ball would do the Fire-type some good in terms of their relationship. "Don't panic, Spits," he said softly. "They're not Water-types, so they won't hurt you. Just be careful!" The Charmander nodded, waiting to see what the Goodras would do next. The Trainer then turned to the young man next to him. "Mareek, what should we do? I don't want to offend them, but..." he trailed off, looking down at his shirt. "This is a new shirt, dammit! I'm not ready to lose it yet!"
