  1. I don't know man, I kinda expected the large ogre with a mace to be able to do more than an unarmed sorcerer.
  2. Corporal Robertson sighed in relief as the giant tortoise GAO disappeared from in front of him. He turned back to his squadron and immediately noticed that Lars had gone missing. He cleared his throat loudly, hoping to gain his comrades' attention. "Hey! Did any of you see Lars's GAO teleport him away just now? Ah, crap, Surge's gonna have my head on a platter for this one," he said, the latter part to no one in particular.
  3. Jacob, happy to see Danielle going to apologize to Slade, sighed in relief and squeezed Arete tightly. "Thanks for the help, Arete. You've become one of my best friends the past day or so, you know that?" he asked the small Pokemon. She gave a "Piiii!" of approval and hugged her Trainer tightly. The young man chuckled and looked around. However, when he saw the battered Evan making his way away from the medical tent a frown and a look of concern came over his features. He looked down at his Togepi. "Well, that's no good." Holding onto his Pokemon, he began to jog after Evan, not noticing that Devin had already begun to do so. "Hey, Evan, wait up!" he said loudly, hoping to get the other student's attention.
  4. Dru was flung to the ground several feet from the gnoll. However, he was able to get up quite easily despite the cuts on his back and arms and once again rushed his opponent. This had better finish him off, he thought to himself as he closed the gap, extending his arm with the intent of delivering a crushing clothesline.
  5. Jacob smiled at Danielle, shaking his head. "Look, it's like I said in the woods the other day. I can't force you to feel that way about me, and if you and Slade like each other then I'd be a horrible friend for saying no to that." He tickled his Togepi's stomach again, triggering another fit of giggles followed by a tiny pout. "I just want you guys to be happy. I've managed to at least figure out my feelings about this, and with that knowledge I'm able to move forward with my life. So why ask you and Slade to move in reverse, you know?" He then chuckled. "Now get the hell over there and apologize already. Slade looks like he's about to punch a Skitty over this."
  6. Dru grunted in pain as he grappled with the gnoll, taking stock of his situation. He threw around his natural Orcish bulk with ease, doing his best to control the fight on the ground. Maybe he's like a dog! Here goes nothing! he thought as he wound his arm back, balled his rather large hand into a fist, and began to punch at the gnoll's face repeatedly, hoping to hit his nose in an attempt to more fully deny him use of his senses.
  7. Corporal Robertson heard the voice in his head and looked toward his fireteam. "You heard the f***ing fox! GO, GO, GO!" he shouted, waiting for his team to begin running so that he and Neffi could take up the rear. No man left behind, thought Jory as he began to sweat from the intense heat from the blast.
  8. Jacob sighed, shaking his head gently as he took Arete back. The Togepi giggled and waved her stubby arms at her Trainer, eliciting a smile from the pensive young man. "I don't know, Danielle. It all seems a bit fishy to me. Didn't Team Rocket disband a long time ago? And more importantly, why would they recruit Slade of all people? You know he's a good friend of mine, but boy does he have a mouth on him! I'm not sure if he's the best pick for clandestine operations. Now that Alvin kid is a different story entirely, but I doubt he'd risk his academic career for thugs like that." He then paused, trying to fit Danielle and Slade's feelings into all of it. "Look, if you want my advice then I think you need to apologize to Slade. I know you weren't wrong, but maybe he just wasn't in the right place for that. Maybe he wanted your support instead of being teased about it," Jacob said gently. "I'm sure you'll both be the better for this."
  9. Jory grinned at Carissa, his mind nimbly at work making adjustments to the rookie's plan. "Nothing looks better on a woman than a brain, Carissa. I think your plan is brilliant, but there's just one thing I don't want. And that," he continued. "Is senseless killing. We shouldn't have any trouble convincing the Acolytes what we're doing out here since this beast is asleep," he said quietly. "If they should make us, we'll steal their uniforms and send them on their way south. We just have to hope we get lucky and find Acolytes that have been conscripted, not ones that volunteered. If they're zealots, well... Then we'll have no choice. We'll have to make sure we dispose of them properly though. I'll not have scavengers picking over any humans. It just seems wrong." He smiled at her again. "So, let's play the part," he said softly, taking Carissa's hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze.
  10. Dru looked at the two gnolls, gulping in anticipation. I'm a sorcerer. I'm no melee fighter without my magic. I'll need to do the only thing I know how to with the Earth I have available. "Oarloff, now!" he shouted. He regretfully took a pouch of ritual sand out of his pocket and flung it into one gnoll's eyes, hoping to blind him as he rushed the gnoll and attempted to tackle it to the ground.
  11. Jory put a hand up, stopping Carissa from protesting. "We're Team Dusk. Not Carissa Dusk. No one goes out alone, not even you. If the worst happens you'll need backup. That's why we're here." He gave his teammate a concerned look, utterly confused as to why she was upset that he was coming to help. I guess she's used to operating as a lone wolf. But she should know that shit won't fly against Dawn and her flunkies. "We know how to stay low and stay quiet," Jory continued. "So you're just going to have to trust that we can handle ourselves in case the worst happens." With that said, Jory took a few steps closer and inspected the Abomasnow. "So what are we doing out here, Miss Master Tactician? And why the secrets all of a sudden?"
  12. "I'm sorry to hear that, Danielle. If you need to talk about it you know I'm here for you." However, when Danielle's Pokemon came out Arete jumped out of Jacob's arms and hid behind him, poking her head out and watching them carefully. Hmm... I guess she doesn't like Pokemon as much as she likes people. That would explain why she's always clinging to me. The Togepi, true to form, was latched onto the back of her Trainer's leg. Jacob chuckled and pried the egg Pokemon loose, holding her in his arms. "Sorry, Danielle. She's really vocal around people, especially when I'm in control of the situation, but she's a little shy around other Pokemon. It took her a bit to warm up to everyone except Chalchi, but we all know that Lapras are smarter than some people anyway." Seeing how upset Danielle was, Jacob decided to try something. He held Arete out, causing the little egg to squirm in an attempt to get closer to her Trainer. "Why don't you try holding her? For some reason I always feel calm and happy when she's out of her Ball, so I've been doing that a lot lately. It's really interesting how different Pokemon can affect the human psyche," he observed.
  13. Jory looked from group to group, making a split second decision. "I'm going with Carissa. No one goes out alone," he said quickly, following Carissa and Lila's tracks into the woods as Shredder bounded along beside him. At least I'm dressed for stealth, he thought to himself as he began to make up lost ground.
  14. Immediately after getting back to the camp, Jacob headed over to the boys' cottage and retrieved a new shirt. All that talk about not wanting any goo on that one and I went and ripped it up for bandages. I guess that's a better use for it than I would have gotten out of it, he thought to himself, mourning the loss of yet another shirt. He put on a green crew-neck t-shirt and walked outside, calling Arete out of her ball. Strange how I just caught her the other day yet I feel so close to her. I guess that's just what Togepi does, he figured. He began milling about the camp, not really sure what to do when he saw Danielle red-eyed and looking upset. That's no good. He approached his friend and cleared his throat, trying to get her attention. "Hey, is something wrong?"
  15. Jacob brushed sweat away from his eyebrow as he looked over the bindings he'd put on Evan. It's a good thing I've had to do this for myself, or Evan might've been in serious trouble, he thought to himself as he watched the other group approach. Hopefully they brought some more help than just people. We need an ambulance.
  16. Sorry about that; I assumed a gnoll that was already stunned would be kinda like hitting a training dummy and that it wouldn't be able to get out of the way. Hell, I know that that's what pisses me off most about getting stunned in MMOs.
  17. Lux's head perked up as he heard a bunch of banging and grunting coming from further inside. He quickly ran in, the glowing orb on his chest illuminating the hallway. He opened the second door to his right, which opened up on a small corridor leading to a stairwell. And, as he'd hoped, Beverly was groping her way along the wall toward him. "Come on, Bev!" he said quickly. "We need to get out of here!" He grabbed his partner's hand and led her the short distance outside, smiling at Blue. "The gang's all here, Blue. Take us home."
  18. Dru gulped, afraid to reestablish his connection with the Earth. Instead, he reached into his cloak and pulled out two small stone bars with a large piece of metal on either end. He held these each in a closed fist and closed with the gnoll that had attacked Oarloff, giving the furry enemy a swift blow to the side of the head and knocking him unconscious. "Good work, big guy! Let's see who else we can clobber, eh?" he said sardonically. He stood near Oarloff, waiting for the newest addition to the group to make his move.
  19. Jory rushed over to Shredder, looking at his injuries. He had fared better than the Electric-types, but Jory shook his head. "Yeah, Nemir, Shredder's hurt too." He then glared at the idiot who'd thought to use Earthquake when they had the Abomasnow outnumbered six-to-one. "Moves like that will cost us big-time at Snowpoint. Don't let it happen again," he said sternly.
  20. Lux frowned, checking his watch. "She should be here. She's likely lost her way inside since the lights went out. We should give her a few minutes. She'll make it out just fine," he said quietly. "If she's not here in two, I'm going to backtrack inside and find her."
