  1. any day now lads, any day now. right?
  2. Its been a while since I played through this part of the game, but in my opinion Alolan Sandslash could be good. An ice stone is available from the "For the Rangers!" Sidequest, Aurora veil is enabled by the field, don't remember if Light Clay is available at this point but if it is, 8 turns of dual screens could help a ton. Its got good physical bulk, resists crunch and play rough, and if you want to go for it, might be able to sweep with slush rush. Swords dance, Iron head, Aurora Veil, and Icicle spear would probably be the set I'd run without access to the move relearner. The TM for Aurora veil is in the shack on top of Silver rise, Swords dance and Iron head are level up moves, and Icicle Spear should be an evolution move. if your letting yourself use healing items in battle, Sandslash can 1v1 the Mighyena easily, if not some prior chip damage would be ideal. You could also go for a risky icicle spear at +3, or sac a mon to make sure Sandslash gets in cleanly with no intimidate drops. Here's some calculations (Friend guard is being used to simulate the field boost to defense): Your Damage: With Intimidate drops on Sandslash: +3 Lvl 60 252 Atk Sandslash-Alola Icicle Spear (4 hits) vs. Lvl 58 85 HP / 85 Def Mightyena with an ally's Friend Guard: 184-220 (102.7 - 122.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO Without: +4 Lvl 60 252 Atk Sandslash-Alola Iron Head vs. Lvl 58 85 HP / 85 Def Mightyena with an ally's Friend Guard: 176-208 (98.3 - 116.2%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO Mightyena's Damage: With Aurora veil up: Lvl 58 85 Atk Mightyena Shadow Claw vs. Lvl 60 252 HP / 0+ Def Sandslash-Alola with an ally's Aurora Veil: 31-37 (15 - 17.9%) -- possible 6HKO Without: Lvl 58 85 Atk Mightyena Shadow Claw vs. Lvl 60 252 HP / 0+ Def Sandslash-Alola: 63-75 (30.5 - 36.4%) -- 54.6% chance to 3HKO These were all calculated assuming the Sandslash has 15 IVS across the board and was fully EV trained in HP and ATK, and the Mighyena has 31 IVs and 85 EVs across the board. with higher attack and defenses, or if the Wiki is actually right and the Mightyena has 15s across the board, the fight only becomes safer. Of course, if shadow claw crits things get much worse, but still its not bad all things considered. Of course, theres always the cheese strategies. Metal Burst, Scrappy Predamaged Endeavor Swellow + weather, a bulky Destiny Bond user (I recommend Weezing), a lot of things can be used to take down a single pokemon with no priority and 4 attacking moves. Don't know if any of this helps you, but this fight really isn't that bad. Good luck mate!
  3. If you do the optional Kyogre battle in valor mountain, someone gives you a key. you can take this key to the lab in Sheridan Swamp, and use it to take the train inside. In this new place you can interact with a machine at the back and give it a Metal powder, Cell Battery and Pokeball to get a Ralts if I'm remembering right.
  4. now this is epic Cant wait for the removal of intense mode release day!
  5. Cellia East credit store is claiming to be the north store
  6. While the screen border option is set to on, the move relearner will have a scrunched up text box on the right side with the names of the moves in it.
  7. this youngster sprite has inconsistencies in the hat, jitters backwards a pixel, and also looks different from all other youngster sprites in the area, having a black outline instead of the colorful one the others have.
  8. ignore, wrong catagory, feel free to remove (this post, i mean)
  9. Spoiler just because the screenshots are kinda big, but No Retreat can be blocked by protect, which negates its effects. Personally I have never seen a Falinks actually use No Retreat against a pokemon using protect, but I am fairly certain that is not how the interaction plays out.
  10. The default save file location shortcut seems to be set incorrectly, as my name is not Chris and in fact, there are files in my saved games folder
  11. Crawli is part of the International police, Spidops is a secret agent spider, it just makes sense for it to be on his team in the Goldenwood fight as a sticky web setter. Its porbably just not strong enough for his gym fight though.
  12. The +rock means that the move works like Flying Press, but it gains rock typing. So Psychic(move) first runs down the Psychic(type) list looking for weaknesses or resistances, then runs down the Rock(type) list looking for weaknesses or resistances, then displays the appropriate message, in this case the move being super effective. Hope dis helps mate
  13. Aight, the idea for Fused Solrock is cool af. fusing two kinda ok pokemon together to make them into a devastating trick room force is awesome. but the sprites feel like they could have used some more work. Exhibit A: Now, this feels kinda weird, but mostly fine, until Exhibit B: But wait! It gets worse! Exhibit C: So now you understand why i call this poor thing "unfinished" Here's hoping the devs decide to quickly whip up an icon for the poor bastard at least. hell, if you want to, feel free to use the one i made in like 4 hours.
  14. So any of yall remember during the public test for ep19, a funny little bug that let you take Zero to apophyl? And how it got patched? Well, someone forgot to apply that patch to Taka on the Anna Smiles route, because guess who's Taka-ing on the Elite 4. The team was just a bunch of legendaries with partial synergy, nothing that would suit him, because I had to do all this without saving so as to not softlock myself as Taka forever, but its still great. Oddly enough, obedience was usually a non issue, except for a few times where they would just never obey. it was either total obedience or disobedience. Barely any in between. The challenger was Fern, who I had a decent matchup against. Psychic terrain, because Telepathy Palkia is kinda busted. I won and Taka did a lil too much trolling And yes, this was latest patch, 19.16. good shit, fr.
  15. 3rd reply, probably last one too, but I had to show off this mess. I was doing a playthrough where I could only use single stage pokemon, so my options were limited, and this was what I came up with. Mawile: Trick room sweeper and sucker punch abuser. mega (obviously) and deals with most pokemon. Play rough, Iron head, Brick break, Sucker punch. Held a Mawilite because mega. Throh: Elias is a dingus, and Throh deals with his normal types under trick room, even ditto. He also was used to break Aurora veil in the Lin 1 and Anna fights. Body slam, Rock slide, Superpower, Brick break. Held item was a black belt, but a chocie band would have been better had I remembered to grab it off of Heracross. Ditto: Ditto. imposter choice scarf. amogus. killed Lins Clefable and Celesteela. ditto things. Dhelmise: secondary trick room sweeper, bodies bennet and Laura when combined with Mawile and stealth rocks. Gyro ball, brick break, shadow claw, power whip. Held a wide lens because I forgot to swap it for a more useful item, like a muscle band. Lunatone: trick room setter. Has insanely good matchups against every lead except Laura and Bennet's, so finding a way to set up trick room was usually super free. Also set up rocks after trick room, because free rocks are great. Trick Room, Stealth rock, Moonblast, Explosion. Held an amplified rock for maximum trick room turns. Griafarig: God this was such a stupid idea, but it worked so damn well. Girafarig gets mirror coat through breeding, and with life orb recoil, and near max HP investment can one shot PULSE Arceus. So I gave it a sash, and turns out it also one shots every other special attacker in the league. It did in fact do this on every fight, killing Heathers Nidoking, Bennet's Galvantula, Elias's Drampa, Annas Sylveon, Lin 1's PULSE Abra, and of course, Lin 2's PULSE Arceus. Mirror coat, Trick room, Psychic, Stomp. Held a focus sash because Girafarig is not surviving a judgement from PULSE Arceus. Throh and lunatone were both Lvl 99 for the final in fight btw, just found that kinda funny. Never used items in battle, but I did play on switch mode because cmon, I brought a griafarig to the godamn elite 4. important members who didn't make it to the final team include Basculin, Aerodactyl, Heracross, Torkoal, Rotom-W, Smeargle, Skarmory, Khangaskhan and Klefki. fr tho why do you only get pachirisu and delibird before the first gym the amount of trauma I suffered through trying to get the rat and bird to beat Julia.
  16. You ever see a strength boulder and thought, "Man, I really wish that was my character." No? Well, I'm sure someone did at some point So have this shitty mod that turns Lucia into a strength boulder and gives it animations If I missed any icons related to her, whatever. Oh, and the icon isn't changed, because i didn't feel like it mattered enough. Because there is zero way you are making it that far as a strength boulder https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sVhnZoVPVkyuYVcVIVD_nDH_yEsmhikp/view?usp=sharing Yeah I have no idea how to make an installer, srry :/ You're gonna have to do some manual ctrl+c ctrl+v stuff Just follow the instructions in the txt file included Edit: Finally got around to updating this with some fixes and misc stuff, such as the tilesets and the minecart. Thanks school...
  17. posted here once before, but seeing as I beat the game again from the beginning a week or two ago, might as well post my second team shoutouts to scizor for toxic-stalling lin-3's ace with revive spam assistance because I'm bad at this game, and to gliscor for being absolutely useless and a waste of a team slot because again, I'm bad at this game.
  18. the nicknames are because i was in a call with a friend and we ended up deciding that "The Tim Squad" defeating the elite 4 was really funny
