  • 13.5 Mini Update | New Team Members, New Aevian Form!

    Hi! It sure is August, huh. About to be my birthday again soon too. Why is time moving so fast??? Anyway.......................

    Last month I opened up applications for new dev team members! There were a LOT of applications. More than I expected.

    Thank you for that!

    Of course, realistically I couldn't accept each and every one because... yeah, but I want to thank you again just because seeing

    the amount of people who wanted to put their all into this project was honestly very touching tbh. 

     

    I've also kept some applications that looked promising for future stuff if I ever end up needing help again.

    That being said, August was a slow month for me. It usually is. It's when I take off time to go outside and touch grass as that one tumblr ask told me to do lol. 
    and touch grass I did. Am I feeling refreshed? Ehh... But an attempt was made! But you know what wasn't slow? My amazing new team members who swooped in

    and carried me this past month. I'd like to introduce them to you all!

    "hi. it's ya gurl Haru. any pronouns are fine. i'm a programmer level 19 wizard for the big three games. you might know me from the randomizer. or reborn qol mods. or rejuv qol mods. i swear i actually do more than that.     "hello, I'm Falirion (usually shortened to Fal or Fali), some of you might recognize me as a former frequenter of the rejuv sub section on the reborn discord or a wiki moderator for the rejuv wiki (really need to get back to do some work there incidentally). As a programmer, unlike most my new colleagues, I don't really have anything flashy to show off since it's more background work mostly concerned with making sure the game runs without issues, which is my main forte, the identification and resolution of bugs. There is a non-0-but-not-high chance some of you recognize my name from the Pokemon Azurite project, where I work as a spriter that does a bit of everything except tilesets, with Battlers as my main focus, though VERY little of my work's been revealed. There's also a -3.8% chance some of you know me from Pokemon Mystery Universe, another game I've made MANY sprites for. For Rejuvenation, my main focus is Battler sprites, here's some NON-REJUVENATION(except 1 ehehe) Battler sprites I've done in the past, for both Azurite and just for my own fun. btw i use mspaint and i am not professional at all."

    Q/A (Quality Assurance)

    Dream: 

    "hey, I'm Dream, I've been just kinda existing™️ around here for a fair while now, but more recently fixed a few bugs in E19 (and created a few in the process) so despite still being pretty green on all this, I'm going to continue to bumble around in some scripts to try and help out my friends, and maybe even branch out a bit!"

     

    And that's all! They have been welcome additions to the team and productivity has spiked like crazy. Really exciting. 

    Did you know that Soulja completed literally all the sprites for our planned Aevium mons (and more), already? Seriously, they did.

    IIRC, this was not a planned mon. This was something of Soulja's own creation. I think it looks great. Not because I'm biased and love the Sewaddle line or anything. nope.

    Not much in terms of actual new content to show, but I hope these screenshots look promising nonetheless!

     

    Well, that's really about it. This post was mostly here to introduce the new team members and let everyone know what's up. If I had to give an estimate of where I'm at development wise, I'd say over halfway, but still nowhere near completion. Maybe 60-70% done? Game is still slated for this year hopefully... Really pushing for it but time is runnin' out and I'm a busy lad irl!!!!! Always trying my best though. Please bear with me <3.

    Ay the Sewaddle line looks cute! Wonder how different it'll be compared to normal Sewaddle. Still good job on the team for all their hard work!

     

    I also find it funny how this is so far the only bug/dragon pokemon (that I am aware of) I've seen so far, fangame or otherwise.

    The aevium forms are probably one of the coolest parts of the game for me so excited to see more of them! Literally all of them are so cool and useable and good and qtofpqjguieqhbnqe

     

    Also bless the new team members for letting jan touch grass whether it was or was not against his will supportin the touch the grass dream 🙏🙏

    A sewaddle that uses shed dragonskin for clothing rather than leaves, eh? Certainly not an idea I've considered before, that's for sure!

    I love how you have been revamping gdc and the desert, I (in no harmful way) think that the platform ryland is standing on in one of the images looks a little out of plaace, I don't know why but something about it bugs me, although I don't really care it just bugs me a little, another thing, will you revamp the early game or the buildings, not to be like pleading or anything but I feel like they look really similar to reborn, and with the new stuff they feel a little out of place. but that stuff doesn't matter to me that much and I don't really care if you do what I think was good or didn't cuz I play rejuv for like three reasons 1. to read saki's hilarious diaglogue and 2. to play this game's amaing story and 3. to see the games really amazing graphics in terms of pokemon fan games. Great work as always. I hope you have great time developing and a fun time to the new developers.

    Jeez you guys really are just making this game look and feel the best it possibly can huh. Major props to everyone as always, and I must say as someone obsessed with mono runs to the point that it’s the only way I play these games I am very much looking forward to that Aevian Sewaddle. Thanks again for doing such fantastic work, and I wish you luck with whatever is being worked on next. You all rock!

    Wish you all good luck. I'm even more excited for future versions of rejuv and i'm looking forward to using that aevium form(and maybe even shiny hunt even though i suck at it.).

    The Desert update looks great!

    Also, if swaddle is avaible early that means it should be the first aevian form we can get, right? (probally except febas. If febas is still a gift after venam in 13.5)

    It will not. I remember one of their previous posts (can't be bothered to find which one now) said that the Feebas "special gift" was only for V13. In future versions, I remember they said that Aevian-Feebas will only be available very late-game in some area we haven't seen yet.

    I love seeing the progress like this. I am glad that the devs are working hard to help complete a game I have been following for years now. I just hope you all do not push yourselves too hard and get sick during the summer time. The maps and pokemon look great just remember to take a few breaks every now and then.

    Cannot begin to tell you how great it is to hear you got so many willing to help.

     

    TBH, I wasn't expecting much considering the heavy load of work that goes into working on a game. Especially one as visually stunning as this.

     

    Truly a pleasure to make your acquaintances. Can't wait to see what you mad lads will come up with. 

     

    -Love the screenshots.  One in particular is giving me strong "The Under/Pyrite Town vibes.

     

    -Bug/Dragon, eh? Very nice.  

     

    -I wanted to say this on the deviantart page, but comments were unfortunately disabled. Super appreciate whoever gave the asset for the Game logo.

    Got plans for a fan comic in the future and having it on hand really saves me time as opposed to having to draw it myself.

    It has long been necessary what to do with Leavanny evolution line. She's my favorite Pokemon with a really cool design. But, unfortunately, (at least on the smogon) this Pokemon is being slinged with mud.

    P.s - I really hope that the Pokédex will mention that Leavanny, despite the aggressive environment of the desert, will maintain his parental attitude. Let it be tougher.

    P.p.s - Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Russia and unfortunately I'm not that good at writing. So I used google. I hope I've made my point clear enough.

    rejuvenation has the best overworld map designs I've ever seen in a 2D pokemon game and you guys manage to make it look even more beautiful every update. Kinda scared to imagine what the final episode maps will be like at this rate haha.

    Definitely looking forward to the new forms and the game, keep up the amazing stuff!

    Whenever I see a new update to the game, I just wanna do another gamethrough of it just to take in the update from the start to finish... I freaking love the new work and can't wait for the next update! Keep up the good work!

    Wonderful work. However long it takes, what matters is that you enjoy making it and do not spend excessive time trying to crunch it to the finish. No matter what others say, making a game is pointless if doing so makes you lose your love for it.

     

    Even if it takes 4 years longer (or more) than might be expected, that is okay. After all, it just means you're taking time perfecting it and making sure everything is as it should be.  Just as quality cannot be rushed, neither should you. It is only reasonable.
