Logan released Ace and Crush. Both of his GAO had evolved after months of rigorous training. But what made him most happy was that Crush started to trust him. Aside from that nothing much had changed. The turtle was still as cocky as ever and liked to pick fights with the hyperactive monkey.

Jory let his GAOs out of their capsules, a smile coming over his face as he looked Nefertiti and Sampson over. They had not gone through the metamorphosis that some other members of their team had, but they had certainly increased in strength on par with the others. However, Jory didn't let that get to him, as he'd performed exceptionally well in the more lecture-based portions of the training. He gestured toward General McCarthy with his eyes and both of his GAOs turned to face the officer. Sampson pawed impatiently at the dirt, while Nefertiti idly groomed herself with her paws. The young trainer snapped to attention and mentally prepared himself for the day's assignment, wondering what fresh hell the higher-ups had cooked up for the day.

Clint yelled out a booming "Sir, yes, Sir!" as he was told to release his GAO's. Clint had grown a lot in the last six months through training, the effects of the military and his group were starting to change him. His attitude was far less abrassive, his street talk was almost non-existent at this point, and his work ethic was much stronger than it had been when he first entered the group. Clint had done very well in fire-arms and hand to hand combat training, and was a surprising star in the leadership training classes, and despite not doing as well as any of the others, his effort was tangible. Clint had matured a lot, learning to funnel his aggression into training his partners.

As he called out Rocky and Pimparella a huge grin appeared on his face, despite not going through metamorphisis yet he was still incredibly proud of the two. Pimparella had it's weaknesses, which he learned were water and grass at this point, while Rocky didn't quite like flying or psychic types. However, despite that, the two had exceled in there training. Pimparella was still viewed as one of the top GAO's given out, despite being incapable of taking down a water pokemon yet, and Rocky was one of the hardest-working, something that had inspired Clint, even when he felt like giving up.

As the two appeared they looked back at their trainer with great respect, the relationship between Clint and his GAO's wasn't one of master and servant, but instead the group viewed each other like family. Clint cared greatly for his partners, and was even open to learning from the two.

Lars released his GAOs, Sleepy appearing in his arms and Dominance at his feet. He was surprised in the way that some of the other GAOs had changed forms, but it didn't him that his hadn't. Not a whole lot had changed about them. Dominance allowed him a little more control, but still largely ignored him. Then there was Sleepy. Who slept. Like all the time. He was surprised they'd managed to get any training in. Regardless, he awaited today's regimine.

Nathan released his GAOs, thinking back to the intense training of the past few months. The Charmander had transformed into a more ferocious - and more ornery - form that the professor called a Charmeleon. Icarus, on the other hand, remained the same hardheaded blue lizard. Neither one was particularly content to just sit around, and the two started to scuffle almost immediately until Nathan barked a curt order to stop at them.

"Yes, Sir!"

Kenny stepped forward, took out his two Capsules from their holsters, and sent out his two GAOs: an Eevee, and a small, Bipedal, blue-colored Canine-like creature, which Oak had called a Riolu. Neither had Evolved yet, despite the fact that his Eevee could Evolve at any time by using the Stones that Infantry had used nearly six months ago. Whenever faced with the Stones, she'd always walked away from them after looking at them for a few minutes.

He and the Riolu, which he'd named Ryu, stood at attention, hands/paws behind their backs, while the Eevee, which he'd named Eve after learning it was a female, sat attentively next to Kenny.

During the training, he'd figured out that Ryu was afraid of Psychic and Flying things, and Eve was only afraid of one thing: Fighters. However, after she and Ryu had been together for a while during the training, she'd lost her fear of him, knowing that he wouldn't intentionally harm her.

He'd done well in the Psychology and Leadership lectures, and was great at finding the best Strategical Outcome if you gave him the Battlefield Conditions. He was somewhat accurate with a firearm, but he did better than average in the Hand-to-hand Combat training. He could attribute that to his Karate training as a pre-teen.

All three of them were eager to begin the evaluation, waiting for Ray to give them their next order.

After 6 months of training and disciplining his Gao and himself, Sid was found himself in a position he never dream off, a functioning member of society. his street smarts and skills never fades but his mischievous and wayward behavior towards the cadets and his commanding officers has been lessen. He sees them like his brotherhood, his street family, a gang who look out for each other. He seems to care less and less about the spoils of war after he realize this is bigger than that, due to the incidents happening around him,

"Yes Sir!" he shouted as he step in front, and in the slight of hand Sid rolls down his capsule down his sleeve and release his gao. Shinx seems to grew an aggressive behavior and letting go of the his some of its playful side as it evolves, Vicious the luxio comes out in a fierce stance and was ready to pounce. Sid snapped his fingers and commanded Luxio "At ease Vicious!" as the feral black and blue cat goes down on all four and sits like a cat.

luxio_by_phlegias_t_redback-d6a0hda.png

Smoke(Horsea)seems to respect him and seems to be jolly and outgrew its timid nature. it seem to be protective to Sid as it develops and not the other way around. Sid learn the flaws and strength of his GAO through trial and error in training whether training with the others or using himself as a human target to show their potential.

  • 2 weeks later...

Enyo gritted her teeth at Ray’s tone of voice. Even after those six months of intense training she still wasn’t able to completely obey direct orders. Nor did she fare well in the leadership classes. She had once read that a good leader is someone who can empathize with the ones under his command, put himself in their shoes, and that was also capable of receiving orders from people above him, characteristics that she had always lacked. She did amazing on the combat training though, especially on hand to hand combat, which she already had some experience on. She took a little while to get used to the weight and the kickback on the bigger weapons, but once she did she was able to catch up with the excellent performance with the smaller, lighter handguns. Her relationship towards the other cadets had also gotten considerably better, but the Greyjoy knew that if it ever came the moment when she had no choice but to choose between the safety of one of them and her own, she wouldn’t hesitate in favoring herself.

Enyo released both GAOs, and after flapping around to get a feel of the area, Bourbon landed on her shoulder. He was still the same frail little thing, but they had worked around the bat’s lack of bulk by coming up with some less orthodox strategies. She enjoyed brute force better than that type of fooling around, but it was a compromise. Besides, the brute force on the team was actually the one that gave her trouble. Absinthe had gone thought the metamorphosis, but that only made him worse. He was now stronger, faster, and way more aggressive. She managed to get him to perform on the trainings because otherwise she would confide him to his sphere, which the gator hated, but making him obey orders was a daily struggle. They were too much alike, and clashed on every single aspect over the past six months. He was a powerhouse though, so probably her superiors decided that having him being handled with difficulty was better than not being trained at all, as she doubt the GAO would bend to anyone’s will. For once he didn’t act up as usual when coming out of the sphere, feeling that something was about to go down.

*Meanwhile*

Oak stood before the massive tank that dominated the Lab denoted as APW-487, His clipboard and pen under his arm. Within the tank was held a Massive Creature, six Inky Black tendrils wrapped around it's wisp like form, a gold crest enveloping it's head like a helm. It appeared to be wide awake, a pair of Crimson eyes gazing around at the room from it's head.

"Sir, It's been like this since this morning." Said David, the Lead scientist on the project involving the Creature in question. It was he who had called to Oak about an anomaly with the test subject.

Oak looked back at him

"Do you know what this means?" He asked retorically

"It means, that this project... is a success."

He began scribbling observation notes on his clipboard hastily. looking back up at the gargantuan beast before him.

"Get the whole Team down here," He said, not bothering to look at David as he spoke." We need to move on to the next phase."

---------------------------------------------------------------

*Back at the Training grounds*

General McCarthy, Seeing that all the Cadets had released their GAO's as ordered, took over from Ray.

"Cadets, Today you are going to be examined to determine the overall combat readiness of this Squadron. All that you've been trained in these past six monthes. But before we go any Further, Dr, Ray and Sergeant surge will hand out a mandatory piece of equipment."

That said, the General nodded to Ray. He and Surge walked off the platform to stand before the cadets.

*Ray and Surge hand each of you a strange device before returning to their stances before the group*

Ray began to speak.

"Now, what I and Surge have just handed each of you is a very special piece of equipment," He said, beginning to pace back and forth as if giving a college lecture. "Each GAO gives off a certain amount of constant energy from it's body. After many hours of research, It has been found that this amount of Constant energy has a direct correlation to the maturity and power of a GAO. Ergo, the higher the Energy given off, the more developed a GAO is in terms of Biology and Strength. For simplicity sake, We have developed a system of denoting the Energy amount given off."

He reached into the Pocket of his lab-coat, drawing out a Capsule. He clicked the button located in the center, causing the ball-like object to erupt in light. Standing before him was Salem.

"Allow me to demonstrate," he said taking out another one of the devices he handed you all and slapping it onto his wrist. "You see, they're designed much like a watch. Strap them onto your wrist, then take out the small grey chip protruding from the side." He pulled the chip out off his own device, dropping it to the ground as Salem stalked over to his side.

"They are all solar-powered, with batteries capable of absorbing a charge from the electricity generated, which means the issue of them dying will never come up in a combat situation."

Surge interrupted

"Unless, there is an EMP in the area."

Ray looked a bit annoyed at this for a moment, then allowed the look to slide off his face, resuming.

"Yes, as Sergeant Surge just said, Unless there is an EMP, they will never cease functioning." said Ray, as he placed the face of the Watchlike device near Salem. "In order to take a reading of the energy, simply hold the face of the device to the GAO in question, Salem, in this instance..." The tiny screen on the device glowed white. Ray pulled it away, examining the results.

"Salem's reading is level 42. Far higher than I think any GAO present here."

With that, Ray and surge walked back to the raised platform. The General stepped forward.

"Now then, for the first part of you're examination, You'll be engaging in a series of mock battles. Each of you will be expected to use both assigned partners at the same time."

He clapped his hands, a hologrphic list materialized in the Air on the platform, the names of everyone blaze in the air. they all fade except two.

"First engagement, Lars Kaiser versus Nathan Grey! Step forward and begin!"

Lars stepped forward, letting out a sigh. Figures that he would get picked first. He let out his GAOs, taking some time to glance around at the training area. He didn't really expect to win. Sleepy was always asleep, and he didn't seem like the fighting type either. Dominance seemed to have potential, but he was difficult to control and quite stubborn. Lars looked at the two. He supposed he'd have to find some way to have them work together. Maybe Sleepy could use that barrier move to protect Dominance while he got up close and attacked. His face took on a bored and hopeless expression.

"...All right. Let's get this over with, I guess." He looked at his GAOs. "Hope you guys are ready..."

Lionel looked amused. A lot about him had changed since he met his new partners. He became more sociable, more friendly. "Now then, for the first part of you're examination, You'll be engaging in a series of mock battles. Each of you will be expected to use both assigned partners at the same time." Lionel turned to Buddy and Shadow. "Hear that guys? We will have to work as a real team to pull this off!" he said. Who will I be paired against? Since Lars and Nathan are already pitted against each other, maybe I'll battle Clint or Jory? Or maybe a rematch against Logan? I'm so pumped to find out who my opponent will be!

Lars called out to his partners.

"Dominance, dodge that fire and use that kicking move we've worked on on the blue one! Don't let him hit Sleepy!"

Lars grinned as the Nidoran jumped out of the flames and ran to intercept the other GAO. The Nidoran jumped it the air, spinning around so it's back leg came out in a kick, quickly followed by the other leg.

(((Double-kick)))

The Nidoran flew at Icarus, aiming what looked like two kicks at him. "Charmeleon, blast him out of the air with that shock wave attack we worked on!" The lizard eagerly complied, letting a bluish wave fly out of his mouth. "Now, Icarus, hit back with that glowy headbutt!" The shockwave wasn't going to hit fast enough to save the Bagon from damage, but hopefully it would catch the rabbit-thing still airborne.

Lars gave a cheer as the kicks connected, but his joy faded as the shockwave sent Dominance flying out of the air. As the Nidoran hit the ground, Lars could see the blue lizard's head begin to glow as it charged. He turned to Sleepy, saying a silent prayer in his head.

Please be awake, please be awake...

"Sleepy, get him out of there quickly!"

The Abra's body began to glow along with the Nidoran. There was a small flash around each of them as they teleported behind the one Nathan called Charmeleon. Lars grinned at the small success.

"All right, Dominance, shoot your needles like we worked on! Sleepy, you know what to do!"

The Nidoran crouched into a small ball, before needles exploded outwards towards the Charmeleon's back. Sleepy stayed in place, but there was a faint red glow in its eyes...

Ray stepped towards Surge discretely as the battle between Nathan and Lars continues.

"Well, surge... looks like this is pretty even on both sides.... I can't tell which of us is gonna win this bet..." He whispered as he stood beside him watching.

"Well just don't get your hopes up, Ray. My money's on Grey. Kaiser just hasn't struck me as a completely....reliable individual over these past few months" Surge replied, his voice also a whisper.

Ray took out a wad of cash, money they had both put up for the bet, in his hand, and began counting it.

"I believe we agreed on one hundred?"

General McCarthy saw the bills and strided over.

"Really?" he asked "Betting money on their performances like this is some type of dog-fighting arena... how despicable of you two."

Ray looked up to the General.

"But Sir... technically speaking, this is exactly like dog-fighting... we're just not excluding it to dogs, but including a bunch of super-powered animals. Besides... the pain threshold for most of the species we've found so far has been a lot higher than the old members of the Animal kingdoms were..."

Surge broke in

"But God... if those nut jobs over in PETA ever found out about this... it would be chaos."

"Oh," said ray "They're already in a frenzy over the constant fighting between the US army and these creatures for the past five years of martial law..."

McCarthy decided it was time to break up this little side conversation.

"Even so, Gambling is against protocol. Relinquish the cash. that's an order, Doctor."

Ray relunctantly handed over the money in his hand. McCarthy took, counted it, and satisfied, stowed it in the breast pocket of his Uniform.

"And the next time I find either of you breaking protocol like this again, I'll order for you to relinquish twice the amount. Understood?"

"Yes, Sir." replied Surge

"Oak places bets as well." Was all that ray said in response as the General strode back over to his spot and continued watching...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Meanwhile in the lab denoted as APW-487*

"Sir... I'm afraid... that this is another failed trial..." Said David to Oak as he stood over the dead test subject, it's gargantuan body now spilt out of the the tank and sprawled on the floor. the fluid in the tank had spilt out as well when the glass had shattered shortly after the final test was initiated. tiny shards of glass and water swamped the floor, soaking the bottom of Oaks shoes.

"Yes, David... It is... And it honestly doesn't take a genius to see this." Oak said, writting down the latest results on his clipboard...

"I Have to call it!" He bellowed out to the Porject team that was assembled at vairous stations and terminals around the huge lab.

"On March 18, 2062, test subject 3045, code-named the "Phantom Wrym" expired during the implementation of the control substance and fail safe!"

many of the team scientist began typing at their terminals furiously, inputting the declaration into the system archives.

with that done, Oak begun walking to the door, David spoke to him as he passed.

"Sir... this is the third test subject since we've started... it's likely that we're not going to get authorization to try again... Is it?"

Oak stopped and looked the younger man in the eyes.

"Fourth times the charm, David... Fourth times the charm.... but right now, I need to go hand this project's supervision of this project Rowan."

Oak left the laboratory with that, and walked to the end of the corridor, lined with several doors indentical to the one he had just left through, and palmed the pad by the elevator doors, signalling them to descend.

when the dull gray slabs opened, standing in the elevator waiting for him was another man in a lab coat around the same age as Oak, with grey streaked hair and a well trimmed beard. Oak strode inside and stood beside the man, punching the button for the surface.

"So," said the man "I'm guessing that this one isn't what we had hoped for either?"

"Nope..." said oak as the doors slowly began closing "I'm afraid we'll have to try again, old friend."

the man chuckled "You know Oak," he said, the doors drawing closer and closer to each other "there was once a time when the most exciting parts of our days were giving lectures on gene-mod crops and the potential pros and cons of engineering certain animal species to fit our needs"

Oak chuckled as well at this.

"Yes... it's funny how much things can change in five years isn't it, Rowan?"

the doors finally slid shut and the elevator cabin began shooting upwards.

Sid observes his surroundings while standing firm like a good soldier would, as he takes a glimpse at the commanding officers from a far and saw Ray with a bundle of green paper.

hmm.. really? is that what I think it is? I think they're gambling...pffftt so this is the army huh? He grins as he remembers his conning days in his head.

Meh... so far this match is just testing each others strength...nuthin' special, they haven't given their true power yet. as he continues to mumbles in his head and turns to the other cadets looking for his potential opponent.

Hmm.. i could be battlin' the 3 heroes of this camp, that would be interesting.

as he looks further noticing Jory, he wince in disgust.. sheesh, i don't like battlin that guy.. the way he raises his GAO is just plain creepy with his sappy pampering. as he looks away to observe what is going on the field.

Clint and his Tyrogue sat on the massive Onix's head as they watched the battle. Over the course of the past 6 months, Clint would try to work on riding his Onix and he'd gotten to the point where if the Onix didn't move too fast, he could stand on him a while. From the elevated point of view, Clint could keep a closer eye on the battle.

Despite the 6 months of training and the obvious increase in maturity that Clint seemed to show over that period, Clint was still like a 10 year old watching a WWE match when he saw GAO's go out at.

"Nate, don't let those suckers teleport behind you!" he yelled out a huge smile across his face. Clint was so engrossed with this battle he couldn't even focus on his own upcoming match. Whoever he went up against, didn't matter to him all that he was worried about was that he and his partners would have a chance to prove there stuff.

"Nate, don't let those suckers teleport behind you!"

He chuckled slightly. It's not as if the action was happening right in front of him. The grin faded as his Charmeleon was struck. The attack didn't do a lot of damage, but he looked rather sickly - and quite upset. He bellowed and let out another shockwave, which was what Nathan had been about to order anyway. "Use the time they're using to attack Charmeleon to redirect and hit that Nidoran with your headbutt!" The Bagon simply made a wide turn that retained momentum and placed the Nidoran straight in his path.

Lars grimaced as the headbutt connected with Dominance. The Nidoran was sent flying a few feet before skidding to a stop. It shook as it stood up. Lars couldn't help but notice how battered it looked after the last hit. But still...

"I'm going to try to win this..." he thought. He glanced over at Sleepy, still in the same sitting position. His eyes were glowing brighter than before, but Lars wasn't exactly sure what that meant.

"Dominance, you just need to last until Sleepy finishes whatever he's doing... Just a little more."

He turned his attention back to the battle. He was more than a little surprised by his own desire to win. It was unusual for him. On most occasions, he would present himself to the event with the same bored face and attitude, but something was different with these GAOs. He found himself wanting to win not for his own sake, but for theirs.

"All right Dominance, I know it hurts, but we have to push on! Hit that fire-breathing lizard with another set of kicks!"

The Nidoran met his eyes briefly, seeming almost to give a small nod. It ran towards the Charmeleon, jumping and delivering the same set of kicks from its hind legs.

The Charmeleon stumbled with the impact, and almost fell. He was clearly having difficulty maintaining the fight; it looked like those spines earlier had poisoned him. "Alright, Charmeleon, back off and let Icarus take some punishment!" Instead of obeying, however, the red lizard started to swing its claws wildy at the offending GAO while roaring, completely ignoring him. "Damnit, of all the times for you to ignore me. . . Icarus, try to get that Nidoran with anything before it takes Charmeleon out, even if it's just a tackle!" The Bagon took him quite literally, flinging itself at the toxic little critter.

Dominance acted on reflex, jumping back and forth frantically in order to dodge the Charmeleon's wild swings. Every now and then, it took a glancing blow from the claws. Lars could tell he was running out of time. The Bagon was rapidly approaching, but there wasn't much Lars could do. His Nidoran was already occupied with the Charmeleon, and he still had no idea what Sleepy was up to. The Bagon jumped into the air, looking as if it was going to tackle Dominance. Just before the hit connected, there was a flash of light from Sleepy's eyes, which appeared to be directed at the Bagon. The Bagon froze mid-tackle, suspended in the air by unseen forces. Lars broke into an incredulous smile.

"Woohoo!" he shouted, nearly jumping in joy. "Thataway Sleepy! I knew you had some fight in you!" He was snapped out of his joy as Dominance took a hit from Charmeleon, sending him tumbling backwards across the ground. The rodent-like creature seemed to be on his last legs as he stood back up. Lars knew Sleepy wouldn't stand much of a chance on his own. However, Nathan's Charmeleon seemed to be getting weaker as well. An idea came into his mind.

"Sleepy, throw that thing towards the Charmeleon! Dominance, follow up on Charmeleon with your horn!"

There was a brief glow from the Abra's eyes and the Bagon was hurled towards Charmeleon. Dominance be a headlong charge in the same direction.

General McCarthy had seen enough of this. his evaluation was complete.

"Halt!" He cried

*Dominance stopped in it's tracks, looking up at the General, as does everyone else*

"I've seen enough. You both have competent control and responsiveness of you partners. You have passed this portion of the Evaluation. Return to your places."

McCarthy pressed the same pin on his jacket, and the list blazed into life in the air once again, this time with two different names. The General called them out.

"Jory Robertson and Sid Maelstrom!! Step forward and begin!"

Aw man...it was just getting to the good part.. he sighed and slowly grins as soon as his name shows up.

"Well no matter, our time is now... les do this" said Sid all fired-up and was shadow boxing the air while Luxio lowers and clutched its head from embarrassment from his trainer's action. Horsea was quite feisty as well as it bounce around on its tail producing small bubbles.

He turns around to the screen once more to see who's he up against.. "Jory!?"

well i haven't seen this guy in action but still he made it this far.. that means he's no pushover.

"Show him your fangs, Vicious! Smoke get in position" as the feral cat's stance changes like it was about to pounce as it grins and shows a dark aura surrounding its sharp teeth. The sea horse like creature cease its playing and was behind Luxio as it remains idle.

"Ready when you are!" he shouted.

Jory grinned lightly as his name was announced. He stepped forward into his space, then addressed Sid. "Hey, I'm gonna have a quick huddle with my team first, alright?" He smiled at his opponent, then released Sampson and Neffi from their capsules. He looked to each of his partners. Neffi returned his look expectantly while Sampson snorted and stamped the ground, eager to get started. "Guys, this is our first time fighting Sid. He seems like the type to go all-out, so don't hold back! Sampson, I guess you'll go first since you don't really like water all too much." The Ponyta nodded his head in agreement, turning to stare down his small, catlike opponent. "Neffi, you'll be the clean-up crew, okay?" The Nidoran responded by letting out a loud yip and standing next to Jory, who turned back to Sid. "I'm ready." Sampson stepped into the ring, his flaming mane growing slightly more wild as the GAO stamped his feet.

Jory looked steadily toward the feline GAO. No advantages here. It's pure strength. Time to show off our new move. "Alright, Sampson, lead off with the new attack we've been practicing! Coat yourself in spinning flames, then hit'em with everything you've got!" Sampson whinnied and stood on his hind legs. His mane began to envelop his entire body. He neighed and dropped to his feet, galloping toward the Shinx with great force.
