I don't hate or like Radomus, but I don't get why he must put us in all that trouble with El.

G.Gardevoir can teleport away all along.

Then, he makes us battle Arceus.

Then, he takes El as a servant, resulting in the kidnapping of Luna.

In the end, he tells us to trust him with whatever artifact he flees with and disappears without explaining why we got into all this trouble in the first place.

He OBVIOUSLY gained something out of it. Why can't we learn about it?

Thanks to the whole charade with the artifact, he made the PC trust them and got it for himself. He also destroyed El's secret cult thingy by using you and Luna as bait. I'd say those episodes aren't as much filler as Azery says. We know the Subseven Sanctum is way below Peridot. We just need to wait to learn more about the ancient Reborn city to learn more about Radomus's schemes.

 

 

Besides, he recognises us as a protagonist without dialogue. He cares for us. He did all that to help us find the 7th street, grind, meet new people and level up as a person.

Curse him all you want, he's the first one that allows us to go deeper than anyone else has, in matters that affect the Reborn city (and not limited to that) immensely.
