CrimsonDragon21 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Why is Bulbasaur so popular. Heal Mudkip. Hurt Squirtle. FairFamily Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I think that bulbasaur is a mediocrity pokemon. It is just mediocre in everything (popularity, looks, competivity, ...) and just falls under the radar for hurts. Quote

HAWmaro Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 How is bulbasaur mediocre, it's objectively top 2 competetive Grass starters and best overall if you take into consideration all competetive history and probablly top 5 overall starters (without megas). Popularity means nothing and it has one of the best and most consistent designs of any evolution family unlike some others *cough*Baeleaf->meganium*cough* . If it was mediocre like you say nobody would be healing it. Quote

Jess Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 RIP Chikorita... @HAWmaro I think the Chikorita line's design is equally consistent with Bulbasaur's line. Similar bodytypes throughout the line, bulbs/leaves turn into petals to indicate maturity/blooming and the proper size increment... Dunno on which criteria you consider the one consistent and the other not... Quote
.... Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) No shit talks on Venusaur pleaase ~ He is hands down most handsome starter ever ~ The flower on it's back called Rafflesia Arnoldi, which is the biggest flower in the world ~ Edited January 12, 2018 by Thundermaze Quote
HAWmaro Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 @Jess it's the antena thingys that ruin meganium for me(other than the fact that it sucks competetively and agaisnt most gyms in it's game) They just ... i dunno they drag the entire look of the mon down and make no sense IMO. Baeleaf is one of my favorite mons design wise while meganium i just can't stand.(i know kinda unreasonable) Quote
Dragoknight Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) @Jess Don't feel bad... it simply had to happen @Thundermaze I don't know about the most handsome starter when you got this guy over here: I will say that Venusaur is the best grass type starter though. Mega Venusaur is pretty good. Also, I think you might appreciate this: Edited January 12, 2018 by Dragoknight Quote
HAWmaro Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Well mudkip is awesome too. But Venusaur will allways have a special place for me. Quote
Jess Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 @HAWmaro I agree about the antenna, it should've gained a larger leaf scythe IMO, but the design is quite consistent in my eyes. BTW, I don't think it's unreasonable to like the first or second evolution stage and not to like the final, I'm same with the Torchic line. Love Torchic, adore Combusken, can't even understand what they had in mind when they designed Blaziken. Quote
Walpurgis Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I'm not a fan of meganium but I have to defend its antenna thingys because they do make sense: they're called stamens and they're reproductive organs in the flower that produce pollen. They come in diferent numbers, forms and shapes but they're present in every single flower, and since meganium is kind of a flower it would make less sense if it hadn't any. i'm sorry I'm such a nerd, I'll stop talking now also the leaf scythe idea sounds pretty cool but I don't know how it would fit the more chubby, rounded and friendly design of meganium Quote
Jess Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 @walpurgis Now that's something I had learned in biology ages ago, but never made the connection! Thank you for that! Also, nerds are cute and lovely, join the nerd army @Thundermaze You misunderstood me, I didn't talk bad about Venusaur by comparing it with Meganium. I was trying to emphasize why I love Meganium, comparing it with Venusaur, which is one of my favourite starters. Quote
.... Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 @Jess Aww noo,i know you did not, I just tried to add some fun ~ Nobody can hate Venusaur after all ~ Quote
Dragoknight Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Quote machine broke - @Thundermaze "The flower on it's back called Rafflesia Arnoldi, which is the biggest flower in the world ~" Oh yeah, the corpse flower! I completely forgot about that. That's a pretty badass design for Venusaur! Can't say that about any other grass starter. And Venusaur was OP on my sunny day team. Venusaur best grass starter and in the top 3 starters with Greninja and Swampert. Quote
