Administrators Popular Post Amethyst 2466 Posted January 10, 2016 Administrators Popular Post Share Posted January 10, 2016 Or one question, really. I asked it in the Amplifield Rock topic... After all, come E16, one line of Pokemon will be able to use it to reverse a type match-up completely. Can you guess which? And the answer-- several people guessed it-- is the Malamar line! Congratulations, here's your prize: It's the first field announcement for E16! I had all but confirmed the Inverse Field previously after a discussion on the server/forum, but here we are. It is the simplest field in the game, but the simplicity packs a fair amount of depth. On top of that, likely few people anticipated the Inverse Field to be one of the handful of fields that can be generated with a certain move, but here we are. I'm looking forward to seeing if, where and how players use this field in game! Here are the relatively few details for this field: "!trats elttaB" The type chart is inverted Created for 3 turns by Topsy Turvy unless the user is holding an Everstone Nature Power becomes Trick Room Camouflage changes the user's type to Normal Secret Power may inflict confusion To clarify a few things in advance, Noel will not be getting this field for his gym battle (post-game might be fun...), nor will it be used in the main story. It's strictly for post-game+player use+the sake of having inverse battles. Sidequests might be fair game though... In fact since Fields can affect the overworld in certain places now, I have a pretty fun idea for a puzzle that depends on switching in and out of Inverse Field. ^~^ Until next time!
mde2001 236
Inverse Field Hype!!! Inverse battles are always a lot of fun and I can't wait for the field to be in play! Topsy Turvy making it appear is a great idea as well. That puzzle you mentioned may be incredibly fun or incredibly annoying. Either way I hope it makes it into the finished product. I also hope I don't regret saying that. Anyway, it's great to see the first field!
wytch_doctr 1
Wow, this effect is pretty cool, huh? Well done Ame, I guess we could say you're outstanding in your field.
Arkhi 199
So we can have an inverse field, but then if we use Secret Power, it's swapped to Trick Room, which makes it a Chess Board field... how do i keep up
ShadowStar 34
YOOOOOOOOOOO I knew it just had to be the Malamar line! I am really looking forward to trying this out. Take that, Bugs...
Alchemia Chan 0
*hyping intensifies* Never actually tried playing in inverse situations before, but I guess it's time to breed me a Malamar. :
Tacos 205
My brain's going pretty topsy-turvy just trying to comprehend this.

Jericho 114
Mmmm, not the field that should b-
BBD 0
great more field to memorize...good stuff.
Cobalt996 10
Inverse battles are always fun, and being able to change it mid-turn, while inverting stat changes... simple, but perfect. Now what if it went in the background after usage and inverted field changes as well? Rain on GT leading to burning, and the like?
Drymus 0
So basically... Bring Malamar with Amplifield Rock and all the dragons to party at Adrienn's gym next episode?
Enigma Shot U 88
A very fun and interesting idea. Ame never seizes to amaze. Kind of wish I had trained that random Inkay I found now instead of Solosis.
Eos_Frisk 0
*the thought of this has filled me with determination* Ahh I'm so excited for this!
Nivircity 0
Oh sweetheart I can't for your puzzle. I'm sure it will be a devilish one and pain to solve, but that's why they're awesome!
Lost Lore 12
I didn't want to make any guesses outright, but I had Inkay and Malamar at the back of my mind, since reversing things is kind of their thing. Topsy-Turvy creating this is neat, and it'll definitely turn things to someone's advantage if they use it just right. Will likely play around with it sometime. Inverse battles are a neat concept, even though I don't do them often. This, though... Sidequests might be fair game though... In fact since Fields can affect the overworld in certain places now, I have a pretty fun idea for a puzzle that depends on switching in and out of Inverse Field. ^~^ This worries me, just a tad. Sounds pretty crazy. But also like it could be lots of fun. We'll see.
TimTim 0
One thing from that screenshot, that Scizor is certainly not having a good time since under Inverse field, Steel has just become worst possible defensive typing Looking forward to new field, Inverse battles are fun. Aishi 23
:OOO What the heck this looks so cool. Looking forward to wrecking some poor trainer with my Malamar~ Good work as always Amethyst!
Lord Drakyle 195
Sidequests might be fair game though... In fact since Fields can affect the overworld in certain places now, I have a pretty fun idea for a puzzle that depends on switching in and out of Inverse Field. ^~^ I could actually imagine the Inverse field effecting a puzzle such as Ice becomes water/water becomes Ice and needing to switch between constantly to be able to reach some locations throughout the puzzle while ice may be needed to reach strength boulders or what not, water will be needed to reach land otherwise unreachable due to sliding on ice.... other things work too such as maybe reversing direction of them movement floor tiles doesn't match up with the actual way inverse works but eh Edited January 10, 2016 by Lord Drakyle
Masquerain 6
Sounds like a lovely field, great shame that we won't get to see it in the main story though
Jaromir 0
Oh boy. I look up for the Inverse Field puzzle. My brain wants more pain. I also look forward for the new item and field. This is going to be fun!
Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch 1650 Posted January 10, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted January 10, 2016 Inverse puzzle sounds fun!
Sin! 17
Holy shit. It's an actual field that has an in depth meaning to it, rather than the regular effects that game freak uses. Neat/
Combat 62
Well, guess I need to start training up one of those Lovecraftian abominations now... Yay Lovecraft!
