  1. As of late he's been choosing the Pokemon he offs anyway so he might as well just ax the death rule altogether. He should. Same, his commentary and his reactions are what I look forward to in every episode. The first time I watched him, however, it was that and the crazy awesome AU storyline in his Alpha Sapphire Extreme Randomizer that enlightened us as to the true Pokemon god which is The Peeko! I concur that fun is important and am no stranger to the frustration this game can bring. It's not the X items themselves that bother me but this: He turned to them after going at the game for months with pure brute force, no strategies whatsoever and blaming the game. Then when he starts using the X items he calls THAT a strategy and acts as though his juiced up Pokemon are gods. Admittedly, I'm no expert strategist but I still prepare an at least 50% different team for each gym battle and consider the field effects and other factors besides type match-ups. I.e the fact that Titania might be a Steel user but has two Pokemon that can use Earthquake, a move that is super effective against Ground types, a type that would otherwise be super effective against steel. Hence I'm focusing largely on fighting types but am also working with my own Earthquake users for insurgence and for Klefki if none of her other team. I've also taught my Slyveon Misty Terrain and am attempting to use that to go at Klefki and Ageislash with my Charizard. Ttar doesn't put much thought into the field effects or how the gym leaders use them or else doesn't seem to understand them. He might sometimes read the notes when he obtains them but not only will he not consider them in his choice of Pokemon but once he's actually on the field it'll be wiped from his brain. We just saw a perfect example in this last episode. He got through that entire Adrienn gym battle and still remains ignorant of the reason Debbie's fire couldn't touch xyr. Granted the whole dragon thing wasn't clear to me in the notes but as soon as I saw: "It doesn't effect Whimsicott" I got a clue even if I didn't understand it and stopped using fire when the field was changed (I got lucky on my successful run and avoided the fairy tale field altogether by one shotting Whimsicott before it even had a chance to move, bless Chloe my super fast Swanna). Another example is with Terra. He read the Glitch field notes and then boxed Myson because of it's ground weakness after literally just reading that Steel doesn't exist in the glitch field. Then there was the whole Monkia Ominous Wind stat boost thing. Crap, I sound like I'm dissing now. I'm NOT, I swear or I don't mean to. Bottom line is that he's not putting much effort into the mechanics of the game before turning to the X items. He's playing this game like a mainstream and, literally at times (i.e the Monkia thing), calling it BS. That's the reason I'm not so fond of seeing him use the X items and that he piles them on so that he's way OP. If he just used one or two I'd be more cool with it. Of course, I want him to enjoy the game but he should at least try to understand how it's intended to be played and mix the X items with strategy. He's dishonoring Ame's death! Lol.
  2. I was surprised that he actually gave Shade credit for saving him on the train in the game's opening.
  3. Damn, he ended up in a tough position getting Mega Mawile after Adrienn switched to the Fairy Tale Field and as we all predicted he tried to use Debbie's fire and left that battle still not understanding the reason xe was immune to it. The silver lining is that this nonetheless should have taught him that Debbie will not be the answer to Titania. Even though fire can hit her, it will do neutral damage to her since she resists Dragon and I doubt he'll even consider the terrain move route to get rid of the Fairy Tale Field. Though I think using Fire while the Mist is still up is still broken somehow. First attempt I one-shot Mega Mawile with a Flame Plate boosted Flair Blitz from my Charizard. I needed several attempts to defeat Adrienn as I do with most gym and boss battles but it took me about THREE attempts to be able to repeat that Mega Mawile one-shot as the stupid thing would somehow manage to survive the same assault in the red. Then Charizard would be one-shotted by Rock Slide. It was the same exact attack every single time, NO stat boosts or reductions and although I didn't pay much attention to the text I'm 99% certain neither one-shot was a crit. I just barely won the battle by poisoning Ryannon at it's last sliver of HP with my ever reliable Drapion who was my last Pokemon and also so low on HP that if Ryannon hadn't gone down to poison damage I don't know that I could have pulled off the win. I'd already used up my 2 Max Revives. *sigh*. Indeed. Although the juice didn't quite OP him here as it did in Devon Corp since he used them on Debbie and couldn't use fire, it's still frustrating watching him struggle less and not have to redo battles at least three times. It kind of undermines the challenge and by extension the players who go at it with actual strategy. *shrug* However, as less interesting as it is to watch, there is nothing illegal about it. Not everyone is up for the challenge and the items are even made easily and infinitely accessible so Ame herself must not disapprove.
  4. Nah, he'll probably just wander around bitching that he never actually got out of Devon Corp. He lost to DJ Lancerock and his punishment is that Lin has him trapped in a virtual reality (this would also explain why Debbie's fire didn't effect Adrienn's Whimsicott). Or something like that.
  5. Thanx. I came across one oasis while exploring with Taka but didn't see a star shard or even realize it was significant anyway.
  6. So ground types can still be useful despite her having Earthquake on her team twice? I just might have to bring my Garchomp back on the team then. But I have no idea who of my fighting types I'd let go of. I guess it might be inevitable that I'll have to let go of my beloved ace Swanna. It's stupid but this would be hard to do because it'll literally be her first time in the PC since I hatched her from the Obsida Slums egg. I would swap out my Pangoro but I like that he has Scrappy for Aegislash. Where is this Mirage Tower? I haven't found any such place myself. Will-O-Wisp would be pretty good since on top of the burn damage it lowers attack and according to Adrienn over the Telecom Titania is very offensive which fits her personality quite perfectly. I'm actually a bit surprised though glad that she doesn't have a heavier team, i.e Mega Steelix and Lucario. Not that I am underestimating that Mega Scizor or any of the rest of her team. Not in this game. There's no way it'll be less than two. Tourmaline Desert is the largest area of the game, it's even obvious on the map. As for the scrapyard puzzle, I can see him struggling with that. It had me getting frustrated as for the longest time I was completely unable to locate one of the vital areas. I even looked up YT videos as a guide and upon seeing them start at this aforementioned area I got so confused I thought perhaps the puzzle changed over the versions or varied with the two paths (Zekrom/Reshiram). I'm sitting there going: "Where the fuck is he (the Youtuber)!?" I'm additionally curious as to whether or not he'll find Sugiline Cave for the Gible event regardless of whether or not he's told about it or even given a map or instructions. This is even more interesting with Taka because you learn the backstory of Solaris and his Garchomp and how Garchomp is a part of his family's history. I found it by accident but this is Ttar, it took the dude like ten episodes to find Indra in Agate Circus!
  7. All due respect at least one track isn't 100% original. 'Dark Crystals', the Iola Valley track contains the Kingdom Hearts title screen theme with just a tempo adjustment. I expect this isn't an isolated case. That said, none of the Youtubers I've watched muted the music and these are OLD series going back to at least 2013. Ergo it seems to be alright.
  8. So then the best field strategy would be to mist it and then turn it corrosive? Yup, I'm feeling it. In addition, I feel it more than likely that he won't understand that he doesn't have to find all 15. Damn. Good thing I'm growing a bunch of Custap berries. I just gotta decide who gets 'em and who if I decide to hand them out at all will get a Magical Seed. ~~~~ Here's another pool, what's the bet that he's gonna go with Debbie on Whimsicott and get all pissed off that the game is broken when she can't touch it. Like he did with Monkia in the Terra battle. Same here! For example I'm focusing on Fighting Types for Titania. So far I've got Lucario, Pangoro, Chesnaught and Scrafty on my team with two of my main aces, Charizard and Swanna. Charizard might be useless against Titania but as I've read there is a Zekrom/Reshriam (dependent on which route your on) battle in her castle/gym so I'm counting on him for that. I recently gave him two dragon moves on top of his fire. Swanna I believe could stand a chance against Excadrill. She's one of my fastest Pokemon and might be one of them getting a Custap berry.
  9. True. So let's hope then that he'll get too caught up in finding the volunteers and his crazy theories for it to occur to him.
  10. Oh his Peeko Power ran out a long time ago fortunately. Recently he's been relying on borderline cheat power, X items. Hopefully after Devon Corp he doesn't have enough do it with Adrienn.
  11. ugh. I didn't realize Steel resisted Dragon. Is there a way to get rid of the field other than Mist I assume? The field notes don't say.
  12. It's Ttar. The dude took forever to figure out the Zel backstory despite how straightforward it was! It's a distinct possibility that he won't even realize he doesn't have to find them all. I one shot that sucker before it could even move with a Brave Bird by my Swanna. Kinda stupid, I don't even think Whimsicott has a tail but whatevs. Of course, it took trial and error to get me to that. Time for Jacques to make a comeback! I'm surprised though of course glad that Adrinne doesn't pair Whimsicott with Mega Mawile due to both having fire weakness. Guess Ame did give us a bit of a break. I'm not sure how this effects the Titania battle, however, except for her Klefki. I'm preparing for that now and I'm focusing on fighting and dark types for her.
  13. I don't remember the last time he even mentioned Shade. Last ep. somewhat felt like the beginning of a blame Lin tangent.
  14. He went Reshriam so once he's in the Tourmaline Desert Taka should remind him. If you talk to him throughout, he'll make quite a few comments about how Lin corrupted Team Meteor.
  15. Quick question: I just finished the Gible event in Sugiline Cave. I've Googled and it seems there is nothing else there but I want to be sure. Do I need to do anything else there? I don't want to have to get through the freaking Garchomp room again if I don't absolutely have to.
  16. Taka implies this. When you pick up the first one he'll say: "Did someone drop these down here?"
  17. Hey. Welcome to Reborn. There are quite a few Youtube series of this game so go right ahead but as stated above PLEASE DO NOT NUZLOCKE, at least for your first playthrough. I personally I say never but I don't care for the Nuzlocke rules in general. Please note that this is the most difficult Pokemon game canon or fan that you'll ever play but the plot and characters are well worth the stress.
  18. I haven't encountered one but that would make sense as pretty much all the Pokemon that were previously exclusively statics become available in the wild post-restoration. ~~~ Welp, he juiced his way through most of the Zel battle as well. At least he put the backstory in Amatrine together. FINALLY! "Ame, I can't believe you made a game, put yourself in the game and killed yourself!" Lol, I kind of can't believe that either. That's some bold ass shit.
  19. I've already used the Power items on Sylveon because I just hatched it yesterday and for sure wanted to focus on it's defense as it's defense IV is bad but overall it was the best shiny Eevee I was able to hatch in days and I got tired of hatching eggs. So Duma is def doing well. Here are some screenies: Chloe: Yeah her Special Defense IV is 0 which is horrid but I only just recently started looking at IVs and I've noticed I have the trashiest luck with Special Defense in this game. I have the trashiest IV luck period in this game but Special Defense especially. Duma: Ugh, now that I'm looking at it, Duma's Special Defense Evs could use more work as well. For clarification, I'm preparing for Tourmaline Desert, Reshiram version so it includes a Taka battle. Her moveset is half and half: Liquidation Surf Hurricane Brave Bird Nature is Hasty BTW. UPDATE: OK, so I bought some tomato berries, used a few on Chloe (she had the most EVs in speed) and now her Special Defense is going up. Woot! I might subtract a few from Attack as well to work on her Defense in a bit.
  20. It was 40 before the disc. Ooooh I see. I did not know this part. Well I also bought Defense and Special Attack discs, will I be needing those?
  21. I'm new to this but I wanted to give it a go on my level 81 Swanna as she could use some improvements particularly in her Special Defense. I bought a few EV reset discs and had the Power items from the new Slyveon I am leveling up. I used the Special Defense reset disc and gave her a Power Band and used her to wipe out a few of Indra's Pokemon then a few rock and fighting Pokemon on Route 2. Her Special Defense EVs were at 40. Now they're at 33 and won't increase anymore! What the fuck?! Again I am new at this but I am getting pissed, please tell me I'm doing something wrong and that I didn't just waste my somewhat low money on these stupid discs just to LOSE 7 EVs? I was a little worried about using them on a level 81 Pokemon but thought why would they be withheld from availability until such a point in the game if high leveled Pokemon can't benefit from them?! Chloe has been with me since I hatched her and has been such a large part of my success in this game despite her bad EVs and I love her but if I could have bettered her, I just wanted to take the opportunity.
  22. Damn. Hard to say, I feel either is quite plausible. According to my notification banners of his uploads, he's playing Super Mario Maker 2 right now so we could still be waiting for some time. It's possible to miss or sell the free one out of ignorance. Quite easily. I missed it myself. Talking to trainers after battling them isn't a common practice to my knowledge. Most players just want to move on. Although Budew isn't available post-restoration I checked yesterday in clear weather and it wasn't there. So Ttar has missed out on that but doesn't need it. Nor am I certain it would count as it wouldn't have been a restored Reborn City exclusive.
  23. Because she's a 12-year-old child who witnessed a suicide regardless of who it is and as it happens, it wasn't just someone random, it was her best friend's father so she had that to be concerned about as well after we deliver that message from Anna. She undoubtedly was traumatized as we see her break down and cry multiple times. That doesn't add up. We see her upset about losing her spot in the Belrose family gym in Calcenon, that's when she runs off. This suggests that two different stories were told to both Laura and Ame, Laura that she was fired and Ame that Laura had resigned. That's how I understood it anyway. That's a valid point. Although I never understood how bugs could be good enough for the Elite 4, Shelly and Bennett are the first bug type trainers in any class and in any game who have truly given them strength. I remember fighting the Bug elite 4 member in Pearl being a huge joke because I swept them with my Infernape alone. Yes! It is quite strange that Victoria didn't think to report Corey's suicide to Ame right away while it was pretty much the first thing she did after Kiki's death. Sending us to do it certainly would have been the easiest way to delay our battle with Shelly (and would have saved us from having to deal with Fern). Much easier and gentler than battling us herself to wear us down. I suppose it can be attributed to a mother bear instinct though can that logic be applied to Kiki as well as she is not a child?
  24. I've been watching Shofu among other YTbers and just a bit ago as he's progressing through the orphanage siege, some thoughts occurred to me. Was Victoria right? Did we need to battle Shelly? Considering how traumatized she was by Corey's suicide I'm suddenly wondering, for something so serious couldn't the reserve gym leader have temporarily stood in for her while she took a hiatus to recover without denying challengers? Obviously, Shelly would have rejected the suggestion and Victoria would still end up having to battle the player as an attempted block but considering her almost maternal concern for Shelly, I'm a bit surprised that she didn't at least consider putting it out there. Who is the reserve bug gym leader? Was it that spoiled, selfish, creeper Bennett before El cheated him on to the Elite 4? No, couldn't be. His original goal was to become a gym leader before El showed up with the better offer. It's a bit of a shame. A borderline sociopathic gym leader would have been fantastically unique though we do have Fern who could be a psychopathic reserve gym leader. As is a corrupt Elite 4 even if it does taint the champion title a bit to defeat at least one phony. Considering what happened with Laura and Bennett I wouldn't be surprised if more members of the Elite 4 were cheated into their places behind poor Ame's back. Though I don't understand how Laura's hand writing in her supposed resignation letter was forged so flawlessly that it wouldn't show up anything out of place in a comparison. Certainly Ame wouldn't be so careless as to not do or order a handwriting analysis check. Convenient too that Ame was killed just after this and made out to have resigned as Champion. Are the Meteors and the Arceus Church/Cult working together? They seem to have a similar goal to wipe out Reborn and rebirth it "cleansed". I feel so bad for Laura, she was so upset to lose her place in the Elite 4, I hope she's able to regain it. Considering the gyms, I'm a bit scared of the Elite 4 regardless of who they are.
