  1. His Aya experience made my day. I loved it. Almost word-for-word how I reacted to her. As some of us have said, Aya is where the threat level spikes. She was harder with the Tentacruel though. But Toxapex is still pretty nasty. Anyway, he's really enjoying the story now. Funny though that his carelessness is now getting him into trouble. He did better when he agonized over every move. Who wants to bet he gets desperate enough to resurrect Tiki?
  2. It's all in good taste. We Reborn players have too much class. Worse could be going on. Just look at all those star wars threads lately... Though now that portentious Absols like me have invoked heavenly Entities to this plain to Burn the Sky with Lights, and exceptionally good move puns are being deployed, it's easy to grow alarmed quickly.
  3. Sounds more like Dynamaxing has just outright changed the metagame as a whole. Though it sounds like certain mons are indeed just outright broken beyond belief. What is the difference between regular dynamaxing and gigantimaxing? What exactly gets boosted in the standard dynamax, vs. the gigantimax? Or is the special form some pokemon get just esthetics? (Not game related, but it's funny how there really always were dynamaxed pokemon since the original anime, and it just... fits the roleplaying world my niece and nephew fell in love with. I would think it awesome if Ame or maybe the Rejuvenation team decided to add boss fights with a dynamaxed factor. Boss fights. Because so far adding these things into regular battles is a mistake. And of course Gamefreak immediately ran for that mistake like a man hugged by slugma would to a cold lake...)
  4. *A golden light lances from the heavens Down descends Ultra Necrozma, flanked by 2 Mega Altarias.* "Release the Budew! Arceus is merciful even to the wicked!"
  5. Not so! It is so that we might come to know true faith in that which we cannot see. That which is Invisible is greater than that which is. Arceus is merely transcending to the higher plain is all. In that same vein, the E19 we all do not yet see is greater in our minds than the one we are going to see.
  6. Very, very well said. And you're sadly right about English speaking countries. The peoples of the British Municipalities are not determined at all. But I feel this response from Gamefreak may reflect more Japanese viewers. Pokemon is nowhere near as popular there as it was. It seems the creators are now more interested in sinking the ship lower rather than bailing water.
  7. But this once will I double post for a separate statement. It must and SHOULD BE MADE. I just watched the champion battle. Or suffered through five minutes of it. My first thought was "Pokemon Stadium was more engaging!" Somewhere far away, at hopefully VERY VERY VERY profitable jobs, those dear, talented professionals from Genius Sonority are crying. Those poor people deserve a big THANK YOU from all of us. Their Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness look like something out of the next century compared to SWSH. They had dynamic, lively and immersive combat, innovate and continuous, fluid camera shifting, and famous music that the pokemon fairly danced with. Gamefreak, even 15, 15 years and a massively more powerful system and budget later, cannot even be compared. Stadium was even better at its inter-battle dynamics. Hello? Is anyone not noticing bad game design and experience when they see it? Because I do! Dear Gigamax Pulsing Arceus! It's horrendous! Thank God I haven't wasted money on this and I am genuinely sorry for those who have, and yet also got a taste of real quality in the Gamecube games. I am sorry for you, really, truly, no malice or flaming. I cannot express how disgusted my 9 year old me would have been. In fact, he's laughing right now with purest derision. And my 12 year old nephew would yawn, get up, and ask to go play outside in our Reborn! League role-play game. Which is ten thousand times healither and more fun, complete with his beloved Pyrous Aegislash and Azurine Ivysaur. Now I just feel... sad. Sad to see the art of video games dying. The world is changing, and time is moving on, leaving the treasures of this era behind.
  8. Well I didn't buy it! And I won't either. And there is an important point here many are missing. The morality. The company lied. I'm pretty sure that can actually be dealt with in a legal fashion if someone had the money somehow. Maybe not. But it should. This kind of laziness is only going to worsen when Gamefreak realizes, as it apparently has, that it can get away with this kind of unethical business practice. Those pokemon designs are a mixed bag. Now I see why they took down Uranium. Frosthra and Astronite look ten times better than Frosmoth and whatever that new evo for Yamask is called. At this rate, the music and design quality will suffer. We're already seeing it with music, in my opinion, but that's admittedly a matter of taste. But the pokemon design is still issue. They are the draw. And they aren't made to look better? The Black/White animations and sprites had more liveliness than these things ever will. They look like almost porceline or shiny rubber in SWSH. I wouldn't play the games for that alone, frankly. The RBY era graphics, as ugly as they were, had soul. They were a form of art. All I see with SWSH is the typical CGI stuff we get nowadays. There is no soul or life there. With the knowledge that gamefreak lied, got lazy and did all that it has done with these new games, I can see the writing they're scribbling on the wall. And it isn't pretty. Honestly, true fans of Pokemon should boycott and complain. Because it can work and force the company to look at its bottom line and actually put in effort, like other, stalwart franchises and brand games out there. Currently, Pokemon is going the way of Disney's StarWars, Arceus forbid it, and hasn't slowed down. But if we force gamefreak to hurt with some tough love, there is hope of changing that around. The reason GF and Nintendo aren't presenting better products is because they know that they fear no such response. Because their consumers are becoming more and more like sheep. Eat whatever and be thankful. Not how art should work. Not how hobbies should be treated. That's my honest two cents and I ask everyone to please understand the genuine seriousness of the situation from a larger, societal perspective. And I don't mean to post here any further, having said my peace, and hope SWSH's flaws will reap enough woes for gamefreak to learn or for nintendo to intervene however it ought. Apologies if this interferes with people's good pleasure. But I've learned the hard way in life that what's pleasing, while needful, is not always what is best, and not often truly pleasing in the long run.
  9. All I can muster right now is the awe in the great irony that Pulse Mr. Mime's perfect counter would have been its evolution. Wow. Oh, and the gigantimax ended up being indeed lazy megas. Doesn't make sense. But at least a couple forms are nice. Mostly the new pokemon are horridly underwhelming though. A giant apple dragon. Really? REALLY? And some wonder why the Gen 1s are so popular... *Eye twitches*
  10. He has a Lombre with Fake Out and likely will evolve it to Ludicolo, assuming it doesn't learn anything else important. I think maybe Hydro Pump at some point in the 40s? Yeah... the one thing I do not like with him is how he acts like his brilliant, glorious good luck is not enough. "The game is rigged!" Like seriously? You have the best results against the RNG that I have ever personally seen, and you think it isn't fair? Please! He acts like confusion is supposed to instantly end, and all status moves miss. And in his regular runs against official games, I'd bet they do! His good luck at this point is some kind of superpower. M-maybe he can see the void unconsciously. He is a Tyranitar, after all. It be a dark type. I just hope he actually loses a few more mons at this point. His team is too weak and I would feel ALL the ShAmE if he actually got up or past Agate Circus with just the ones he has... all the shame.
  11. But what if a couple certain brainwashed Flying and Fighting gym leaders are guarding it? And if it has enough crazy bulk, maybe even a focus blast wouldn't kill it in one hit, allowing it to mirror coat. Or heck, it may have a fairy move itself to deal with such troubles. Though it does seem like making it a Fairy/Steel type might be better... Or you know, put on a Glitch field with a seed to remove all weaknesses... or do abilities work on Glitch field. I never did find that field effect readout... like most of them.
  12. I'm really, really bad with cheeze strats, honestly. Never enjoyed playing that way, may be a reason. Were it me, I'd make Pulse Mime a Normal Type and give it Wonder Guard, while also giving it Counter&Mirrorcoat. With perhaps support moves like Safeguard or something to help against stuff. And have it be guarded by Orderly John.
  13. It really annoys me that Ame nerfs the leaders each episode for some reason, with the exception of shelly, who got the Araquanid. It seems they are all weaker. And the AI has never been the same after E16. It was far scarier with me in that ep than in E17 and beyond. It actually healed and used proper moves when appropriate. I never guessed it had any things wrong with it. And then E17 and boom, broken. As for Shade specifically, Ame just plain made the fight easy. Banette? Really? Where did Trevenant go? Bring it back! And bring back Chandelure! TTar does not understand the horror of fighting Chandelure! *Growls and gnaws on the nearest furniture* I sUfFeReD more! Why he has to suffer less?! Huh!?
  14. Exactly how do you get chikarita? I totally forgot. And probably would never try... Bayleaf is my 3rd favorite pokemon, but Meganium is on the low end of my hate list. As for starters, I guess none of those help him. The way I see it, Kiki will be a very dangerous force to reckon with. He has Pidgeot, but that's the only thing stopping her team... and now Kiki the Mightyena is his main. and it's doomed vs. a fighting leader.
  15. After seeing how well he fights and his luck, I assumed he'd beat Shelly like he did or wipe completely. And I know my luck with Confused pokemon ends up disastrous most of the time. He never once saw Belly or Tiki hurt themselves. Wonder how he will react when he learns you can actually get more starters? Or does he know?
  16. I have many things to say about this episode. All of them wonderful. Thank you TTar! YoU aRe ThE cHoSeN YoUtUbEr. Where do I start? 1. He has the luck of the devil. That is the only reason one of the Tangrowth battles didn't kill something at least once. To say nothing of all the other fights. He is smart though. I'll give him that too. He is really good at battling. Far better than I ever will be. But his luck tho. 2. His reaction to the orphanage was absolute gold and his voice acting just measurably and perceptably escalated to new heights with the scene. by the end he was acting Anna's lines perfectly with the exact inflections and emphasis one would probably expect. And his reaction to Anna was so awesomely perfect. First he's like "Oh this poor girl's craaaazy~." And then that stinger advice at the end and you can see the gears a-spinnin in his head and he be like this in his head: "Wait wait wait. I didn't tell her anything about Heather but she's suddenly aware of all that's happened, or at least vaguely. M-maybe she not so crazy..." 3. Connel's voice was not as awesome as it was when HeatedMo did it. But I love TTar's reaction to him when the music starts changing. So awesome. 4. His quote about the scene being so poignant he can SMELL the hospital dissenfectant stench was awesome. And props to development team and Aahm! for doing such an awesome job. 1 of the top 3 most memorable Reborn moments. 5. FIVE! HOLY MUK! His theory on Corey!!! DID HE JUST PREDICT (or nearly so) events in Episode 19???? I can totally see Shade showing Heather Corey the Gengar and being like, "Love still casts its shade on you" or something poetic. Wow. I can surely see this in a post game. Or maybe some kind of tie-in with one of the Legendaries and that's part of the story element for one of them, like say, Crescellia. Dunno. But he is so darn close to the truth about Corey being resurrected. I wonder if the other part is a logical progression and will actually happen in some fashion. Not word-for-word, obviously, but enough. Close enough to be credited to him. I really want that scene. Dangit! Give the girl closure! 6. THE BOOKCASES! THE BOOKCASES! GAAAAH! His experience was like watching myself. It was freaking hilarious and frustrating. I felt my old trauma from the bookcases reforming. I swear. That hurt. And it was fun. I felt so sorry for him. Only in my case with the puzzle, I did it right in like, literally 2 minutes. But didn't realize how to get from Shelley's room. And thought for sure if I left the gym room, I lost the progress. How I struggled getting it done right when I realized, though. That, and I had to heal. When I came back... ooh Lord. I wasted a good three hours of my life in that gym. 7. Shelly. We all knew this day would come. And yes, TTar. It WAS meant to be this way. And whatsoever thou doest, understand that there shalt cometh more hence in yonder days.
  17. I haven't even watched the video. All I see is Shelly's black silluouette with devil horns and the title: "This has never happened to me in a Nuzelocke before." I can't find an emoji that properly demonstrates my feelings right now. Well, we'll see. He might actually be trolling like he did with Mightyena and beat her effortlessly. That would be just as hilarious, honestly...
  18. I could have sworn I've seen him looking off at someone off camera to his right and saying stuff, including asking questions at times. Is he just acting like he has a production staff? Cuz if so he fooled me. Wow. Not that that's necessarily hard to do, but still.
  19. This was a great episode. He's gold and his production staff is/are silver. He really makes me feel like I'm playing Reborn for the first time again. And that means something. Thank you, TTar!
  20. Am I just the only person who doesn't know how to properly handle Blaziken? Because mine never stood a chance against her. And people seem to have success with it I don't. Then again I am no good at proper competitive play... so I guess I lack set up support? But really, I fail to see how poor Tiki can overcome Shelly. Even without Rain, she has Masqurain, which Intimidates and Bubblebeams you, Araquanid that can do goodness knows what, and then the Anorith. Though oddly I used to have more trouble with her Heather. Heather after speed boosting is no joke. It does no ancient power, no? Seems like it does. But that might just be Redux. Redux... ouch. No, no thinking on that. Trauma. TTar is really lucky though, and if he keeps Kiki alive and then maybe adds Ampharos or something like Luxray, I could see him doing it pretty easily. He got past Corey easily enough. Mayhaps we shall be pleasantly surprised. But if he don't get some good Special mons, he gonna be on his knees before the Queen. The Queen is the one thing worse than Shelly. If he doesn't have Earthquake to take out them mirrors... But we'll see. We will see. How he survives will impress me. Also, I love how he's milking his pronunciation of Aaahm for all it's worth. It gets funnier for me every time, I don't know why, really.
  21. He's got the luck of the devil. When I played, crits were everywhere and rain was omnipresent. But that was E16 and Kyogre was in Reborn on vacation in E16. So rain was ever-present. My poor Combusken. It NEVER had a chance to shine until after rain wasn't an issue. That doesn't account for this guy's great luck. My pokemon always knock themselves out with confusion. Now let's see how he deals with Corey. . .
  22. Funny, ShogokiX. I was just at the beach and got stung a lot by broken off pieces of jellyfish. And saw a cool little purple one shooting off near me like a comet. Was really cool, honestly. But kinda scary. Those things hurt. Though I argue not as bad as bee stings, so long as they're not live. The live stings are excruciating from what I've seen and heard. Had a friend at the same beach who was stung. So yeah. I guess honestly there wouldn't be swimmers in that lake. But Azurine is in Pokemon and that means swimmers have pokemon to help them. So it would make sense that they'd just consider it no different than encountering a wild mon. I mean let's face it, you go out into the grass in just about any region and there's violent animals ready to maul you. Even the caterpillars are dangerous enough to try and string you up and possibly leave you for the local rodent/dog to nibble, assuming their adult forms don't want you. Beautifly suck blood right? And Beedrils ooze peril. But it's really great the devs thought of this. I wondered why there weren't at least a few swimmers out there at at least some point. Maybe they could be in the diving zones. Would make sense. Man, I wish there were more watery diving spots. First game was Sapphire. How I LOVED the ocean. It was awesome and I still consider Hoenn the best region design-wise, for the aspects of water exploration alone. So thanks to them for finally adding swimmers! More exp from battling I guess. Though as a rock trainer, I guess I'm digging my own grave. Oh wait, would that be diving? Or adding weight to my millstone? Is this even a pun anymore?!?
  23. Great, thanks Siragon! Just finished the episode. Ah, that ending... it almost feels like maybe Caz had intended for Ep5 to have some interesting mechanics and just stalled on the overwhelming workload that would entail. . . I guess I'm happy with Desolation as it is. It's long and difficult enough and more than worth it. Heck, it's probably long as half or 3/4 most standard pokemon games. It would be nice to try the high-rollers. I'll work on it. Maybe before or after I once again try the ceremonial picture quest. That one never seemed to work for me. Where is the first spot I go to for a photograph?
