  1. "Well, hopefully I have enough range on a sword to keep that from happening, but I'm glad to know you would be right there avenging me if it did happen." Strangely enough, he actually sounded sincere there, not joking around for once.
  2. Bradwr sat with his back against the railing, lance leaned awkwardly against his shoulder as he inspected the shaft for any signs of splintering or aging. It wasn't inherently obvious, but he was not exactly comfortable in this situation right now. He hadn't really intended to fight against the military of his home country just yet. And now to end up on a ship with a ragtag band of... Well some of them were slightly less ragtag than others, but still. He set the lance down with a sigh and leaned back against the railing staring at the ceiling. This was going to be an adventure, and not one he was sure he was going to overly enjoy. Still, it could potentially provide for some interesting opportunities. Stick with the group, but don't get close. Your end goal isn't the same as theirs. Remember what you aim to do and don't forget it.
  3. That brought a full throated laughed from Kerr. "Well you're certainly not wrong there! I've got pretty decent stamina, but that still has limits. It's funny. I used to be a more conservative fighter, wearing a lot more armor and the like, but it just doesn't fit for whatever reason. Doesn't quite work. Probably going to get me killed some day, honestly, but until it does, I'm going to keep on going."
  4. "Interesting, interesting. I can see why you would say that for sure. And clearly I'm at least somewhat a believer of that, given I also wear at least some armor. However, I find that too much limits what I can do a bit too much. And so I sacrifice a little bit of safety to be much more dangerous than I would be otherwise." He grins, well aware that the picture he's painted up to this point has been anything but dangerous.
  5. It seemed his questions had largely been ignored, most likely due to her being distracted. Tucking his hands behind his head, he called out to the heavily armored one, "Probably best to leave it, you know. I doubt either of you two will change your minds, and arguing over something like this is bound to just raise tensions. Besides, you've got a dragon interested in you. Better to pay attention to that than anything else."
  6. "Hmm, fair enough, fair enough. Well Rhian, it's a pleasure to meet you. I promise I'll do my best to not deserve getting knocked on my ass. I never meant to imply you were a psychopath. Perhaps better wording would have been 'could gut me' not 'would gut me', but either way, my promise stands. I will say, with that armor of yours, I would have expected more of a front line fighter, but then you have a bow... Interesting combination. Still, good at keeping you alive no matter where you are fighting, I'm sure."
  7. Kerr shot a grin at the grumpy woman. "Oh, I wasn't pretending. I get some of my best conversation with the air. Well technically with myself, but same idea generally, you know? And don't worry, I was more referring to eyepatch guy over there as the mood killer. He was just kind of looming over us, watching. Creepy, you know? Naw, you're just touchy, that doesn't need to kill a mood. Besides, I'd never insult someone who could probably gut me and do it gladly." His grin had turned into a full blown smirk at that point, clearly testing the woman's temper at least somewhat. "Oh, right, I'm being rude. Terribly sorry about that. The name's Kerr. Lance foot soldier type fighter, from Caliss. Don't worry, I won't ask for details where you're from or anything. I already know you don't want to share."
  8. Ker had been taking the entire situation in and finally sighed before sitting back down on the ground. "Well, it's certainly going to be an interesting group if nothing else. Couple crazies, couple mood killers, couple naive ones. Plus at least one who's able to be calm and maybe help us all working together. Oh, and me of course." It wasn't exactly clear who he was talking to beyond generally to the air, though he was still close enough to the Dragon Knight and the other two near her that he might have been talking to them.
  9. A yawn, stretch, and minor clanking of armor came from a few yards away from the group, and a lightly armored man pushed himself up off the ground, making his way over to the rest. "You all are way too noisy already. We're here to work together, represent our countries, blah blah blah. Even if we hate each other, we've got to shut up and play nice, you know? Same applies to flirting, etc. We're here to be professionals and move both countries forward together. So lets not ruin everything in the very first hour, yes? At least wait a couple of weeks."
  10. "They could try and stake out my home. Wouldn't do them much good if they managed to find it. I don't exactly have anything to go back to." He flexed his gloved hand, glancing down at it with a frown. "Still, I can't ignore what they're doing here. I'm in."
  11. Brad to M-15, stab the archer, canto to M-16
  12. She just seemed to be enjoying this whole situation, so Doran supposed he should leave her as she was, even if it was a bit unexpected. He continued to gently stroke her hair since she hadn't objected. "So tell me more about yourself, Chance. What had you working in that place anyways?"
  13. Doran blinked, not sure how to deal with all of this. "Uh, yeah, sure. That's fine. You should try and sleep some though. I suspect we have a long road in front of us..." He awkwardly patted her head as she nuzzled into his shoulder. This was entirely foreign territory to him and he was pretty sure he was going to screw it all up somehow.
  14. Bradwr to L-13, stab the mage, canto back up one to L-12 Tsdin to L-13, stab the mage
  15. Selia sat away from the rest of the group, staring at nothing while shuffling the cards almost without realizing she was doing it. The first battle she'd been in had been easy. And it had made sense. She'd needed to escape after all. It was that or her death. The second battle though... She winced, her shuffling faltering for a second before picking up speed again. That had been a disaster. She had been barely any use and the feel of weapons biting into her skin was not one she would soon forget. Everyone else seemed to have no problem with all of it. Why was she so different? Maybe this just wasn't something she was cut out for... Would she be slowing the group down if she stayed around them? She didn't have the answers and couldn't predict her own future. The one area she needed answers the most was always the area she was the most blind in, now more than ever.
  16. "She's right. Better to have a few bites now and then have more later once your stomach is used to it than be throwing it all up in an hour." Settling down against one of the walls, he was content with a hunk of salted meat and an apple. After a few bites, he looked up at the others and commented, "We'll need to set up a schedule for watches. I don't mind taking first watch. This cave is small enough we shouldn't need more than one person awake at a time. Probably should have three shifts though. That'll give everyone enough time to sleep."
  17. "Well, when you have as many siblings as I do, it gets to the point that you need to leave. Besides, it's hard to support that many too. And yeah, I'm sure they're fine. They're hardy enough. If something came up, they'd escape, I have no doubt."
  18. Elizabeth to M-11, heal Bradwr Bradwr stab Guard A, canto to L9
  19. "Ha, fair enough. She does seem to be doing alright I suppose. Just wanted to make sure she was ok, you know? I had... have I guess? Little sisters, so it's instinct to look out for them. Or something. Dunno, haven't been home in ages, so no idea how they're doing or anything. Guess I'm not that great at looking out for them." Despite the serious topic, Gavan's tone was still light and joking, seemingly not too bothered by the fact that he hadn't seen his family in years.
