Doran simply shook his head. No questions and no desire to draw this out any longer. The truth of the rogue's words wasn't clear to him, but if it got him out of here, he didn't care. He'd no love for any government, not anymore. All he wanted was to escape, complete whatever ridiculous tasks this man put in front of him, and then live peacefully away from everything else. That was the goal for him that would hopefully keeping him moving through these trials.

"Hmm... willing to work with a bunch of people you believe are perverts... Must be a pervert yourself! Still, someone who knows the area will be useful. Do you have any other talents besides cleaning? Healing, singing, balancing things on your nose?" There was a clear joking tone throughout his whole comment, clearly trying to lighten the mood a bit. He was nervous, but that didn't mean he couldn't try and help everyone relax a bit, right?

Doran couldn't help but laugh at the girl. She honestly seemed to be not quite all there but she was amusing and honestly seemed like she deserved to be somewhere better than here. Though so did most of the people here... Still. How would she react to knowing who they were? "Not guards, no. Though with Viola's armor I can see how that mistake would be made. We're prisoners. Well, all of us but the guy in the cloak. He's the one who helped us break out. So now we need to push further and get out of here for good. Are you willing to help us with that?"

"Would you rather stay here? I mean honestly? Sure you don't know us, but at least we're offering... sort of offering you a way out? What's your name? I'm Doran. I'd promise you I'm not a pervert but you have no reason to believe me so I won't waste time with that..."

Doran still seemed uncomfortable at the whole situation, tugging at his gloves briefly before checking to make sure the axe was settled carefully in his belt, before finally saying what was on his mind. "Fine. But don't expect me to trust you. I'll work with you, but all of this mystery isn't going to make me like you. And if you start talking too much about this knowledge you claim to have... I'm not sure how long I'll stick around." The man had promised to keep that secret, but Doran wanted to make sure he knew exactly how serious Doran was about everything in his past staying in the past.

Doran seemed to unconsciously reach out and rub the back of one of his gloved hands before snapping out of it and realizing what he was doing. "That... I'm no one. Just a wandering vagrant who knows how to chop wood. What makes me any more special than any of the rest of these people? And don't... No." I don't care what you think, ok? Stay out of this.

"You could tell us a bit more about yourself... At least a name. Though I guess we don't know each other's names either... My name is Doran." He fiddled with the small axe he'd been given, glancing down at his gloved hands before looking back up at the others. He briefly glanced off into the air, like he was lost in thought, before focusing back on the others, waiting for their names.

Doran raced forward, and flung out his axe at the enemy. As it released from his fingertips, he felt a familiar cold burning sensation trail down his arms and watched as the axe intertwined with curls of black energy. It thudded into the enemy guard's throat, the magic energy eagerly burrowing into the man, leaving him dying on the ground. Doran stared at it, eyes filled with anger as he angrily muttered, "No, dammit! You said you'd leave me alone! Why are you still helping me do this?"

Doran took the axe with a smile. It wasn't something he was used to using for battle but he knew the feel of a good hatchet. Perfect. "Alright then. Time to go. ... No, this is fine. Better than any alternatives." The last bit was quietly mumbled under his breath, quiet enough that his new companions would only hear it if they were listening closely. K-4, hatchet the soldier

A few seconds before the tendrils had appeared, Doran had sat up straight and started quietly mumbling and then shaking his head. At the sight of the magic, he had shut up but a small smile had crossed his face before disappearing again. Standing up, he walked to the door and held out a hand. "I'm in. Let's get out of here."

Doran stared down at the food in his lap, mind racing. He'd only been captured a few weeks back, and while a part of him still hoped for escape, at the end of the day, he was left realizing that no one cared enough about a wandering vagabond orphan enough to help him be freed. Truly all he could hope for was maybe some day being promoted to guard. At least that way he wouldn't be killing his body through the work, even if it meant trading his soul. Stuffing a piece of the bread into his mouth, he glanced around at his companions. A strange mix it seemed, with a small girl and two other guys, but who was he to question it. Swallowing, he finally spoke up, "You'd have thought they could give us a bigger cell for all four of us. Or maybe even our own cell with how empty things are around here. Probably not a good sign for us to be honest."

Wouldn't have shared it if you couldn't use it! All yours and if you ever have any questions about working with a mug, feel free to ask me. I love to help. Speaking of, TY, you asked me to transparent your picture. Along the way I noticed that it was really grainy like it'd been saved as a couple different file formats along the way, so I grabbed the original version and did my best to recolor it to the colors you had. Hope this help!
-
The problem with that argument is if I don't give them feedback, they won't improve. I was polite, I didn't say the mug was terrible or that it sucked or anything like that. I pointed out the issues that the mug had and offered an example of how to improve it. So no, I couldn't stand to be less critical since my criticism was all constructive criticism aiming to help them improve on their next mug.
-
I've been trying to decide if I wanted to say something since you're proud of your mug but there are a few pretty big issues with it. The first and biggest issue is that your contrast between the different shades of a thing (like the hair and the cloak) are way off and so you don't get the shading effect that you need, which leads things to look flat and unshaded. The hair especially is pretty bad because the first two shades are super light and then you go way to the opposite side of the scale and go super dark for the final shade. This ends up making it look like there's no shading at all and like you're just making a flat color. The cloak has the same problem to a lesser extent. The other two issues you have are you have a lot of stray pixels that you didn't recolor properly so they still match the original colors not the recolored ones and you also lost some of the outline on her right shoulder. A similar colored version to show the difference in how properly contrasting colors can improve how a mug looks:

The tome was tattered and falling apart, but still Selia could sense the power inside of it. Pulling a card out of her deck, and imbuing it with the magic from the tome, she threw it up in the air. It hovered, glowing brighter and brighter until it flashed, revealing a larger than life tarot symbol. "The crumbling tower signifies destruction. In this case, it is your own life that will be destroyed. If only a different card had shown you its face." She flicked her wrist towards the unfortunate soldier, and a beam of energy blasted him backwards, filling the hallway with a burst of light. When it cleared, there was no sign of the soldier left. -
