  1. "Uh oh, a pinky promise. Getting serious here..." Despite his words, his tone was light and he reached out and hooked pinkies with her. "Sealed. I can't die on you now."
  2. Doran's cheeks were a flaming red at this point as he glanced around, hoping the others weren't taking this as him slacking off or as anything else. "Well, uhm... I guess I can be your knight then. If it makes you happy? So you keep me alive, and I'll keep you safe, alright? It's a promise."
  3. "Ah, wha... I mean... I'm no knight. Just a... Just a normal guy. And there are lots of people to protect you... But I'm not going to die. So don't you stress about it, ok?" He awkwardly gave her a pat on the shoulder, not really sure how to react to her teasing.
  4. As Lyla fell in front of him, Gavan let out a primal growl. She'd moved to protect him earlier and now she fell while blocking an enemy from reaching him again. The intention might have been less this time, but the outcome was the same. And for her to have fallen like that... He barely registered what Lenny was saying, reaching automatically for one of the arrows at his hip. "That was a mistake, you undead freak!" Arrow steadied on the bow, a steady breath... The arrow flew out, true to aim, and pierced the enemy through the eye. Gavan watched coolly as the thing collapsed on itself. "Your turn Lyle."
  5. "Tsk. Should have been quicker. Ah well, it is what it is. Maybe I can still..." H-1, shoot the archer "Hey Lyla! Mind giving me a hand?"
  6. Selia stared at the woman. The list of things she'd been saying had seemed perfectly normal until that last one... "Uhm. Well, I don't think I need any of those things right now. Especially the last one. But uh... I'll keep that in mind?"
  7. "Ah... no, I'm sorry, I don't... The cards don't give specific details like that. They're always open to interpretation, but the truth is you need to seek this out yourself. Not all answers can come from magic. Some need to come from you and from your actions."
  8. Selia gently touched the tattoo of an eye on her forehead and closed her other eye. The cards began to glow brighter, flashed brightly, and then went dark. Opening her eye, she reached out and flipped the first card and raised an eyebrow in surprise. "The World. A rare card. Your past is firm. You have no doubts about where you've been but you have moved on from there for a reason. The past was good, a solid foundation. But now you are moving on to something new that can build off of that foundation and become greater." "Your second card is Judgement. There is some decision you cannot make because of how large it seems to you. Others may dismiss it, but you know the finality of making such a decision. Remember, only you can make this decision but it is entirely up to you. Your choice will influence many things in your life and possibly others. So be wary." "Your final card is The Lovers. A fanciful card. Perhaps not tomorrow or next week, but some day you will meet someone. Take the time you have to prepare. A relationship is only as strong as its weakest part. You must know what you want and what kind of person you are looking for. Without these things, even The Lovers cannot save you from yourself."
  9. Annoyed at the cluttered area, Gavan opted to instead sneak around. F-3
  10. Gavan sighed as people began jumping up and volunteering. When Lyla jumped up, he winced, and slowly got up from the table. "I guess I may as well go then. I know the area and how to move around it well enough. Might be able to get the drop on these shadowy figures."
  11. Gavan sat a few seats down and across from Lyla, smart enough to know that sitting next to her right now would have been a dumb decision. Still, close enough to sneak glances every once in a while. He'd ended up next to an empty seat, so when a new person entered the room, he waved them over. "Hey, there's a seat here! Leonard was it? Come on and sit here, no need to be shy.."
  12. "Very well then. Watch, and hold your past and your hopes for the future in your heart." Selia began to needlessly shuffle the card, their blank faces towards the ground. Holding them out to Emilee, she gestured to the cards with her free hand. "Pick three. And as you do, hold a question that you wish to be answered more than anything else in your heart and mind. This will be what is revealed to you. Both how that question has been shaped in the past and present, but also how it will resolve in the future."
