  1. "Hmm? Ooo, cool thanks! Fire magic is pretty great, and it sucks to be stuck with just wind magic. It's way too weak, but most of my tricks aren't offensive stuff. So I'm stuck with these tomes. This'll be great!" He grinned at her and then gestured at town. "Wanna go see what we can find? Nickles will prolly get mad at me if I just stay behind to pester him, so maybe I can find some fun to have in town. You can do the asking, and I can see what else i can find!"
  2. "Good! I'll be honest, I'm sort of glad that I got to room with you, especially because you are newer here. It's a little intimidating to think about all of these people who know each other... It also helps that I have a bunch of other people joining with me! Especially Fey! She's great, and I'm glad she stayed with me. Though... my father may have killed her if she had abandoned me so..."
  3. Mim wandered back to her new room after dinner had finished. It seemed like Liz had ended up back there before her, so she smiled at the girl as she took a look over her new space. "Hey! How are you doing? That was a nice dinner, do you guys always eat together like that? It seems like you're more like a family than anything, which is nice to see."
  4. "Oh, yeah... That makes sense. I should probably get some other clothes at some point, but this jacket is just so comfy... Oh, you could probably leave that in Liz and my room, if you wanted. I mean, if there's nowhere else to keep it..." What was she doing? He was a prince! She wouldn't be able to have the same casual relationship with him anymore. That just wouldn't do... Even if he was rebelling against his father now, he was still going to go home at some point, right? And so he'd be king some day. She had to remember that. "O-of course, if you have a better idea, I'm sure that would work better. It was just a suggestion."
  5. Mim glanced back at Crimson and smiled. "Yeah? Ok... I'd like that, yeah." She headed out the door in case Crimson had any last few words for Orchid, but waited just outside for him. Once he'd exited the room as well, she turned to him. "So... I don't really have much in the way of stuff. Obviously. So there isn't much to do in the way of setting things up. I'm going to be rooming with Liza, so that's nice! Uhm... I guess we could... walk around the house and check it out. Or the area outside it... I don't know... W-what do you want to do?"
  6. Right, ok, she had to talk again here. He'd apologized, the two of them had a nice moment... Time to talk. Right. "S-see? That's better, isn't it? We're going to be working together now, after all, so we should all try to get along! H-ha. And he was just trying to help you. So... it's all good. I uh... I should go, leave you two with whatever you were up to... S-sorry about barging into your room like that. It wasn't very polite of me and if I'm going to tell him to apologize, I need to apologize too..." She started reaching for the door. She needed to get away, figure some things out, this was a lot and she wasn't sure what to say that wasn't her panicking....
  7. "Whooooa, that was awesome! Man, your magic is super cool!" Ari bounced up next to Nico, looking over the blade as closely as the man would reasonably allow him to. "And the way you just... blasted that guy away? Excellent! Man, I'm glad you dealt with him. Dark magic and me, we don't mix too well. It's cause I'm half-fey, or something like that. But it gets me a little harder than most people. So good job! You may have this whole leading thing figured out soon if that was any indication!"
  8. A game of chess, huh? That didn't seem quite right, but she didn't know Crimson that well. Maybe he was the kind of man to get upset over a game like that. It wasn't unheard of. And Baldur was right, she was being rude at barging in... She had been about to apologize when Crimson spoke up. His words both confused her and warmed her. She smiled at him, glad to see that their talk earlier had left something changed in him. He wasn't going to lie to her! And... A prince. Her prince. Some day destined to be her king. "O-oh... S-so all this time..." What sort of reaction was she supposed to have here? She'd been ordering around a prince! No wonder he had a temper. He must have been pampered his whole life and then to be treated like people here had been treating him, it made sense he snapped. But... No, she couldn't think too long. She would worry him. He had trusted her with this information, she had to respond. She could process it all later, for now, better to act like nothing had changed. "Well. No matter. Even princes need to behave properly, and I didn't hear an apology in there. You still should apologize for yelling at him like that; loud enough that I could hear you down the hall!" There, that should distract him long enough... Give her some time to get her thoughts collected. And figure out what had been going on in here... Had Baldur been trying to blackmail him or something? She shot a look at the man. She didn't know him really at all beyond how he talked about Shin and how he had treated Liz but... Maybe he had just revealed he knew and that had made Crimson angry enough? He certainly didn't seem happy about who his father was after all... His father. Her king. Her, a common merchant daughter, ordering the prince around. Thinking about how... No, she needed to focus. This was important, she couldn't worry Crimson, not when he clearly needed support.
  9. Mim had been about to open Shin's room when yelling errupted from the room Crimson and Baldur had entered. Growling an explitive under her breath, she pivoted and headed for her new destination. If that healer had done something... Still. Better to focus on Crimson first. Pulling open the door, not caring about how rude she was being, she marched in, shutting the door behind her. "Crimson. What are you doing? I could hear you yelling down the hall! You should know better, we're guests here still even if we are joining. Now. Are you going to tell me what's going on or are you going to apologize to him for yelling?" After all, if he didn't have an explanation for why he was yelling, he should apologize. Unless he didn't want to share. She kept a close eye, watching for his reaction.
  10. Mim frowned as Crimson ran away from Shin's room. Surely it couldn't be that bad, could it? She started to climb the stairs, calling out behind her, "Oh good, Liza, it's a deal then! I'll room with you. As for you Crimson, you need to stop overreacting. Surely his room isn't that bad. You can suck it up and deal with it, I know you can." She'd reached the top of the stairs by now and was headed for Shin's room, determined to see what Crimson was overreacting about.
  11. The hideout wasn't the fanciest, but it was enough. Sharing rooms was going to be fine, Mim was used to that. But Crimson seemed upset about it, so she smiled up at him. "Oh come on Crimson. You'll be fine. You should try rooming with Shin! He's plenty nice, I promise! And... I wouldn't mind rooming with Fey, but I would also be good with rooming with Liz if you want to room with someone else, Fey!"
  12. Mim smiled up at Fey, seemingly perfectly innocent in all of this. "Oh nothing~ I just had a few questions for him, and he was very sweet and answered them for me! I just wasn't sure how much he wanted to share with other people so I asked him in private."
  13. As Crimson slowly walked beside her, she paused, looking up at him, a thoughtful look on her face. Then quickly, she stretched up on her toes and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. "Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me that. I'm glad that we ended up meeting and even more glad you decided to stay with the group after all of that." She turned back towards their destination, cheeks bright pink at her own boldness.
  14. Mim smiled, looking up at Arthur as he blushed too. "I'm not planning on changing, don't worry. And... beneath all that bluster, you're a nice person too, ok? So don't convince yourself otherwise." She reached out and tugged his sleeve again, gesturing towards the rest of the group. "Wanna head back to everyone else? That's all I wanted to ask. Unless you have any questions for me! Fair's fair of course~"
  15. Mim hesitated for a second and then flung herself into Crimson, holding onto him tight for a few long seconds before mumbling with her head buried in his chest, "I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have pushed, but I just... I should have known by your reaction to him that it wasn't a comfortable subject but I wanted to know... C-can you forgive me?" She'd been holding the hug for probably longer than was normal and as if realizing this, she suddenly released him and backed up a few paces, her cheeks tinged pink.
  16. After having dragged Crimson a safe distance away from everyone, Mim turned on him, the sweet charming attitude gone as she crossed her arms and stared at him. A few long seconds passed, and then she finally started to talk. "Why did you lie to everyone? Well... I guess I have an idea why you lied... But you did lie? Didn't you? About your name, I mean. Engarde isn't a last name, and the way you fumbled for it... Who are you? Really, I mean. The warden said he was going to ransom you, which means you're important to someone. And not someone small either. My father would have been willing to pay a lot of money for me, and they weren't even considering ransoming me from what I could gather. So... who are you? I won't tell anyone, you don't need to worry about that. But... I don't like being lied to either. S-so..." She hesitated, almost as if she wasn't sure about saying whatever came next and then seemed to chicken out at the last second. "W-well, I won't be very happy if you continue to lie. So just... tell me! I'm probably going to just keep calling you Crimson anyways, so it isn't like I'll accidentally use your name or anything like that!"
  17. Mim narrowed her eyes, staring at Crimson for a few long seconds. Then suddenly she brightened up, and smiled cheerily at the rest of the group. "Mim Rhedan from Ria. Good to meet all of you~" Still smiling cheerfully, she walked over to Crimson, she grabbed him by the sleeve and smiled sickly sweetly up at him. "Crimson~ I was wondering if you might oblige me with a little talk? In private please?" Without waiting for a response, she tugged his sleeve towards a section of the prison well away from the rest of the group, not really leaving him any room to say no.
  18. Mim frowned listening to the man's speech. He was just about ready to ditch them all, huh? Well, she could just return home probably. Not like the prison was going to look too hard for her. But on the other hand... Well, being part of this group did sound exciting. And she could use the battles to try and get better at making potions. Which was the whole point of this journey after all... And what about Shin? He clearly needed more people looking out for him, if the way that rude healer had been talking about him was any indication. An idea slowly started to form in her head and she looked up at Fey with a grin. "Hee. Watch this." Sticking her hand up in the air, she called out, "Oooh, I want to be called Snowbird, is that alright? I'm good with a bow and I can make potions that have lots of different effects. Plus this way I can watch out for Shin. And besides, you guys need more people if you're wanting to do all that you were talking about! Why not pull some of us in, hmm? After all, we're all fugitives now anyways."
  19. Mim had been about to respond to Kane when the violent healer from earlier punched the other smaller girl that had been defending Shin, knocking her mask and glasses off, and sent her to a knee. Leaping into action, Mim scooped up the mask and glasses on her way to the one called Scarlet. Kneeling down beside her, she pulled out the small vial of medicine that she'd collected at the start of the whole prison break. "Hold still, this might sting. I'm sorry, this isn't going to be as potent as it could be... I didn't make this, so it's just cheap medicine, but it should still do the work if you let me." When the girl didn't push her away, Mim gently spread the medicine across the bruised area, being careful to not press any harder than necessary. Almost immediately the medicine sank into Scarlet's cheek, soothing the pain and leaving the bruise appearing as if it had happened a week ago instead of just a few seconds ago. "Tch, see what I mean? Shoddy, leaving any sign of bruising. Still, it's better than nothing and given that gigantic asshole shouldn't be anywhere near you right now, it'll have to do. Sorry that I riled him up like that. Guess this is a little my fault at least. Here's your stuff back. Oh, and, thanks for defending Shin. He seems like a good guy, he just needs some help. Good to know at least some of the people on your team care about him."
  20. Mim looked at Baldur with an icy glare, but did not even bother to respond to him. Instead, she responded to Kane with a calmer tone. "He's clearly not fine but given the attitude some of your group clearly has towards him, I can see why he would act as such. Better to suffer in silence than deal with the scorn of others. Not that he seems to be avoiding that either way, but still. I apologize for yelling, but it's honestly disgraceful and you have to see that as much as I do. Shin clearly needs support and your group isn't giving it to him. Just because he's an adult doesn't mean that you can't help him out, even if you need to be a bit forceful sometimes." She shook her head, looking back at Shin. "I mean, clearly he doesn't want to care for himself. So someone is going to have to. If you really care about him like you say you do, you'd make sure he was taking better care of himself."
  21. "Yeah, we might have to Fey... There he is." She recognized the man in red as the one who had been trying to stop the fighting earlier and had a commanding tone to his voice when he did so. Stomping over to him, missing whatever Shin was saying in the meantime, she pointed a finger at him with a bit of a scowl. "You. Are you the one in charge of this group? What gives? You're letting one of your men go around in barely holding together rags with a leaf as his mask? What sort of leader are you? Can't even take care of your own group? With how skinny he is, I doubt he's eating properly either! Not to mention other issues, but those aren't all your job. But come on! What sort of person doesn't make sure that his group looks sharp? That they're properly outfitted so they can do what needs to be done without worrying about anything else? Everyone knows that you need to make sure that the people that work for you are properly taken care of! How hard would it be to get him some nicer clothes and a decent mask so he doesn't have a fucking leaf covering his face? That's the sort of thing that could make your group a laughing stock! Hardly the face a rebellious sort of group wants to present!"

  23. Mim frowned, taking a closer look at Shin. He was... well, generously, he was a mess. Some of that could be excused as being in battle, but... was his mask made of leaves? All the others had masks that were, well, nice. Why was his the only one... His hair was all sloppy too, and his clothes, well... Best not to linger on the smell either. She shook her head. "Y-you don't look so great. Are they not giving you proper supplies? If they're your comrades, they should be making sure you have good clothes! You're a part of their group too. Who is in charge of this group, I have some words for them!"
