  1. Will the new release change any of the existing game? Or is it entirely new content?
  2. Just out of curiosity, what game engine did you use to develop this game? Also, do you have future plans to monetize it?
  3. Where do I get HM surf? I am doing the rangers quest on Ruby Island and need surf to continue.
  4. I can't get to the bidoof room in Helix Cave because on an invisible barrier. Also, is gastly still available in Weeping Hill? The gravestone I remember finding him isn't interactable and the tiny key isn't available in the shop.

  7. The present protagonist will get more screen time, but the past protagonist will still do more than just reveal information about the regions history. There is somewhat of an overarching story between the two times, they are not totally separate stories in the same world, even though it may sometimes appear that way. In terms of Mystics, it is an ability that passes down through genes, so it is like a genetic trait. In the present day story, they have the technology to test whether somebody is a Mystic or not.
  8. Intro Hello! I have been planning Pokemon Mystic for a while now, and I want to pitch out some of my ideas before I started seriously working on it. I made one of these a while ago, and I got a lot of really good feedback, so I am curious about what people have to say. Story Pokemon Mystic will have two different playable protagonists with different teams. One of them is a 16 year old girl named Sofia living in a peaceful and harmonious present day, and the other is an 8 year old boy named Zachary living in the region centuries prior in a world where Pokemon are seen and used merely as tools. Sofia's story acts as the primary story, while Zachary's adventure reveals important details about the history of the region and its people. The one aspect that connects Sofia and Zachary is the power of the Mystics. Mystics are a people that can fuse together with their Pokemon in battle. In Sofia's time, Mystics are nothing but a fairy tale, although unbeknownst to her, Sofia is actually a Mystic herself. When the supposed government group, The Society of Knowledge attacks Sofia's home territory searching for Mystics, her sisters are captured and the rest of the territory is massacred. Just before being captured herself, Sofia is rescued by a enigmatic man named Zen who claims to be the leader of the terrorist group, the White Eagles, and that they are a safe haven for Mystics like her. Can Sofia trust Zen? And why was her home territory suddenly destroyed by a government research group? Only time will tell. Setting Present Day The Cerros Region, a region split into 18 territories for each type, has lived peacefully ever since the Prime Minister overthrew the dictatorship and turned the country into a Democracy 30 years prior. Although, recently the White Eagles, an allegedly pro-anarchy terrorist group, was reported to have been disrupting the peace throughout the Cerros Region. Past The Cerros Region is a Monarchy ruled by a greedy king and supported by an even greedier noble class. The poor are constantly struggling to survive, and many have taken to enslaving and selling Pokemon. Throughout both the noble class and the common folk, Pokemon are regarded as nothing but tools. Even the kindest of people couldn't recognize or acknowledge Pokemon as living beings. Zachary and his family reside in the slums of the capital city, Darkhok. Eureka Academy Eureka Academy is an elite battling school in the present day Cerros Region that any trainer skilled enough can get into, regardless of background, wealth, or status. Many of the regions top trainers are graduates, and have come back to teach. One lesser known fact about Eureka Academy is that they have classes designed to train Mystics. Only members of the actual class are aware, along with the higher-ups of the school. Eureka Academy is constantly scouting the region for Mystics for both the purposes of protecting the Mystics and protecting the truth of their existence. A Few Characters Features - Gen 3 styled graphics - - Pokemon and Trainer fusion - - 18 territories based on the types - - No gym leaders or league of any kind, but many of the territory chiefs/leaders will be fought - - A unique world with characters on all sides fighting for what they believe in - - Conflicted characters striving to surpass their problems - - Two playable protagonists - - Both a modern world and a medieval world - Mystics Anyways, please give feedback on my ideas for Pokemon Mystic. I want your honest opinion, since that will help me further develop my ideas. So, don't feel bad about bashing certain areas or expressing disapproval. Also, some help with the game would be very much appreciated. My progress has been very slow since I have no artistic ability, and can't even complete the simplest spriting tasks, so help in that department would be incredible, and probably necessary if I want to get this game going. I have fair experience with Ruby, and have recently started getting more into RGSS, but programming help would still be appreciated. Honestly, anybody who is interested in lending a hand would be really helpful.

  11. I also think you should add a short summary of the plot. I suggest you focus the summary on the unique parts of the plot that set your game apart from other games. With all the new fan games being posted recently, your best bet to rise ahead is to show us something unique and appealing about your story. Like @Jess said, the summary is too vague, so people will just see the post and think "cool, a new fan game", but then it will just enter the back of their mind with many of the other new fan games being created. I trying to make the game stand out a little bit more with your intro so that it doesn't get swept away. Your plot intro right now is interesting, but it is the kind of thing everyone is used to seeing. Anyways, I am definitely liking the 150 level cap and difficulty modes. Just make sure you have enough interesting gameplay to cover that many levels. You don't want to realize half-way through that the player will never reach level 150 within the planned story.
  12. I think creating or crafting items could be a cool feature in a fan game. Perhaps there could also be custom items that could be created, or custom boosting items that certain pokemon could wear in battle. Although, the main problem with making nearly every item craftable and possibly a few custom items would be time in my opinion. It would take an obnoxious amount of programming to make the feature its best, so it would only be worthwhile for large dev team with skilled programmers.
  13. For a little why, but there is a pretty major jump on the latest leader if I recall. I had to grind up for a long time, and get a new team member. All in all, it doesn't get much less grindy, so it comes down to your investment in the story. I was really into the game, so I wouldn't hesitate to rebuild my team to continue playing. If you don't think continuing the game is worth the grinding, then probably try another game. Although, sounds like the levels are being re-balanced for episode 10, so maybe consider playing then.   14. For me, these were also some of my hardest battles. Marianette's Bewear completely destroyed my team, over and over. What I like about Rejuvenation though, is the audino trainers make exp pretty easy to get, the only problem is crappy evs. I don't remember if you can access them for those battles, but I don't think you can. For those in particular, when I realized I couldn't beat them I started testing their team and trying to find weaknesses. Basically all my battles were like scout missions, and I was leveling up a bit in the process. Eventually I would come up with a stategy, and adjust it until it works. Try to plan out every move, and if you can't think of a winning combination, then add luck to the mix. A couple times I had to rely on chance, and ended up beating Angie with something like a 5% success chance after many tries. Just think of a strategy, and take into account the possibility of move accuracy and status ailments in particular. Also, on battles where I had access to the region and audino, I would scroll through pokemon and try to find a team that counters them. That is how I ended up beating Amber, since I had a terrible match-up originally. Honestly, just keep trying at tough battles with different ideas and it will work out eventually.

  16. Alright, I understand. I respect your decision, and I honestly do need to figure more out on my own. I am really quite inexperienced when it comes to Ruby and RGSS, so I have started getting more into it recently. Although, even if I am inexperienced, I plan on going through with the transformations in my game, even if it takes a while before I have a fully functional transformation system. Anyways, thanks for clarifying!
  17. This was my initial reaction when thinking of watching, but after a few episodes, you get used to it. Now it is probably my favorite anime. My top few are probably 1. Code Geass or Your Lie in April 2. Akame Ga Kill 3. Hunter x Hunter or Magi Rest of favorites: Charlotte, Fairy Tale, Gurren Lagann, Seven Deadly Sins, Yona of the Dawn, Sword Art Online, Future Diary, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and a few more I can't think of.

  19. Ok, thanks for the help! I still have a few specific questions though. I was wondering if I would be able to only allow the transformation to work after a specific event in the game. So basically, the button would do nothing until then. Also, I plan to allow the protagonist to transform back into the original sprite, how would I make it so that the protagonist will only transform into the original sprite when she is in the fusion state, and only into the fusion sprite when in the original state? I don't want somebody to transform into the same sprite. Last thing, do you know where I could find this sort of information? I don't want to have to make a post and rely on other people for all my problems.

I mostly agree with Nyarth, I think you should put all the ideas and concepts directly related to your games as updates on a single thread, but your general game concepts should be separate threads. I agree that all the posts are clogging up the forums a lot, but I can't say much since I have quite a few threads up right now too... Anyways, I don't personally care about having a lot of separate threads, but if you are always posting new threads, other people who don't want their game drowned out will start posting more and it could get pretty chaotic.
  21. That is a pretty interesting idea, and it would certainly add to the strategy. One problem is it would make a series difference in the experience between people who use the vulpix and fusion, and people who box it. I am considering locking vulpix into the party since it is such an essential part of the game, assuming that is doable, but on the other hand I don't want to force people to use a Pokemon they don't like. Anyways, I do like the idea, and hopefully I can incorporate it.
  22. I really like this idea. Perhaps, whenever the player uses the button to transform outside of battle, I could also transform the vulpix, assuming it is in the players party. This way, whenever the player is transformed, the actual vulpix will be tranformed in your party as well. It is more realistic if both the protagonist sprite and Pokemon sprite are always in the same form. Also, @Hideyoshi - Sword Master is more along the lines of a Pokemon ability, and not really what I am looking for. Although, since I plan to change the abilities of the trainers and fusions, I could use Sword Master as an ability if I create a Mystic who bonds with an Aegislash or something.
  23. Honestly, I hadn't considered what would happen when the fusion faints, thanks for shedding some light, I will definitely have to do some more thinking into that. I plan on making several Mystics as rivals and enemies and such throughout the game, so they will also fuse with their particular partner. I may make other Pokemon able to fuse, but I will have to do a lot of planning into that since I want the bond between Pokemon and trainer to be significant in the fusion. I definitely like the HM replacement though, it would be pretty cool if the protagonist could casually fly around or scale waterfalls. I may add certain events where the protagonist goes through some sort of adventure helping a certain pokemon or something that strengthens their bond, and then the pokemon could join the team with fusion capabilities. Thanks for the support on my ideas, I am honestly feeling pretty good after reading through your post. I will make sure to come to you if I want to bounce around some ideas. I made an earlier post asking about the transformation, and so far it sounds like I could do the transformation with a button click, although I can't change the name of the Pokemon through mega evolution, but that probably won't be a big deal. Hopefully everything is doable.
  24. I see the similarities between Serra and Elise, but I think they are more different then alike. As Seki said, they follow the same theme of escaping reality or isolation due to tragedy or depression, but that is about it (besides the obvious of them both being ice leaders). Also, even if she did isolate herself, it doesn't appear to be out of total lack of motivation or depression like Serra, as mentioned above. She seems to have a more positive view on the world and is working to get over her losses by accepting the job as a gym leader as helping other trainers. Serra really just abandoned hope of living a fulfilling life, where as Elise kept moving forward. I understand that they have similar backstories, but I think they strongly differentiate from how they reacted to their depressing lives and continued their lives. Of course, I may be misjudging the characters since I don't really know that much about them, and I am just going off of what I have picked up.
