For irony, make him a Botanist.......Personally, I feel it's better than going the cliche route of Geologist or Archeologyst (which has already been done in other fan games.........maybe even a canon game).
Steven is a archaeologist or something, Roark and Byron are miners, which is all over done. I made him a retired hero who longs for the days of old(Similar to Serra now that i think about it), which Wolfox's fit perfectly as he looks like an adventurer
