  1. I vote Mightyena! With Moxie as ability and Sucker Punch bred onto it via Rattata (Lv 19) to get the most out of it.
  2. @rayyan Yeah, I definitely don't want to abuse Eruption too much, but in this case it just kind of felt appropiate. I've already got two potential strategies for Amaria, based on the few things that we can say about her battle with relative certainty. Both involve training a new Pokémon, since the current roundup likely won't be able to stand up to her without setup.
  3. I was grinning like a fool while watching the HP bars fall to zero as well. |D I'm not entirely decided whether I'll just Eruption-Spam Blake to oblivion as well or if I'll maybe try to fight him more conventionally. He deserves getting destroyed, but I don't want to have too many battles like that in succession. Mmh, we'll see. @FactoryofSadness Indeed; thank you!
  4. Future Sight actually has 120 BP as of Gen VI and Espeon has considerably more SpAtk than Lucario (base 130 vs 115), so HOW?!
  5. After beating Samson we take some time to grind our Pokémon, especially Guardian the (now) Ninetales, a few levels with the gracious help of Clown Indra. (That guy's Mienshao is worse than Samson's, aiiyyee.) Guardian is now ready for battling, though he will remain backup: With these preparations done we head back to Fiore Mansion to get Surf, move on through Ametrine Mountain towards Calcenon city and eventually reach the cave system on Route 3, where Aya helps us accidentally infiltrate a Meteor base as well as fight Aster and Eclipse. Cue Battle! VS Meteor Knight Aster and Meteor Dame Eclipse IV ^ 17 images; I don't remember ever having taken so many screenshots for one fight. Anyhow, this battle was incredibly stupid. Eclipse's Milotic mucking around with Blizzard probably saved my ass here, but on the other hand Aya could've taken it out if she had just sent in her goshdarn Venusaur. Ugh. Still, I think this is the first time I won this battle on the first try, so I'm not gonna go back just to try and "properly" deal with Milotic. After the battle Eclipse quits Team Meteor and deacitvates the PULSE Clawitzer. She then gets soulmurdered by Sirius. Aya prevents him from doing the same to us and promptly gets taken as a hostage. The whole crew then buggers off, leaving us to go on alone. Not without picking up the TM for Grass Knot, however! Though it turns out that noone on the current team can learn it... Denied Grass coverage yet again! Upon reaching Calcenon City Sirius attempts to negotiate with us - the Ruby Ring for Aya. Charlotte fools him by pretending to steal the ring from us, buying us and Aya some time. We then challenge her to a Gym Battle so we can use Dive to get up to Ametrine City. Cue Battle, Fire vs Fire. VS Firebug Charlotte By far the easiest battle I ever had against her. I was a bit worried Typhlosion's Speed might not be quite enough to consistently go first since he has "only" 22 IV in Speed, but turned out it was plenty enough. Victory on the first try, naturally. This victory earned us our tenth Badge, raising the Level Cap to 75. More importantly we also get the TM for Flamethrower, boosting Chandelure's Fire offense a fair bit and giving us some more leeway in switching out TM moves without constantly running back to the move relearner afterwards. That's all for today, next time we'll climb up Ametrine Mountain all the way to the top to save Heather and set Blake on fire. Until then, see ya!
  6. It won't hurt Yanmega, which is easily Shelly's most dangerous Pokémon. A Burning Field will also hurt most of his own Pokémon, and maybe he doesn't even want to or can't spend those Red Shards on Fire Pledge. In any case, Stealth Rock is another strategy that helps.
  7. Right. It's not like I could have maybe noticed that if I had just looked at the screenshot again. xD Anyway, that makes it somewhat more likely, yes.
  8. The wild Purrloin in Aqua Gang's alley already know Fake Out. Graveler also learns Stealth Rock on Lv. 30, which you can use to put a good dent on most of her Pokémon when they switch in. Yanmega in particular loses half HP from that. You should probably change its ability to Sturdy however, or capture another Graveler or Geodude that has Sturdy.
  9. I can relate to this. That Eevee has just about the perfect nature for Jolteon, lucky.
  10. Iirc its movepool is entirely Special, so that would be weird. On the other hand, Breloom's Sp.Def. is puny, so I guess her Lucario is just weak.
  11. From what I've seen Intimidate is considered a highly usefull ability in competitive play, so I guess that -1 in Atk does have more of an effect than you'd expect. It does make sense, if you think about it: the higher the Atk stat of the afflicted Pokémon, the more it loses with that -1.
  12. I am amazed that Shrooms managed to take a Field-boosted Psychic.
  13. Sigmund's Electivire most likely has maxed or at least very high defensive IV specifically to make it less frail; it's supposed to be his Ace after all. Cain's Nidoking, assuming he didn't switch it out at some point, also got Intimidated by Sigmund's Luxray right at the start, so his Attack isn't at its best. It's also possible that Cain's Pokémon have different stats when he's partnered with you then when he's fighting you.
  14. He, pretty simple solution for something that gave me hell more than once.
  15. Don't forget that Sludge Wave turn Grassy Field into a Corrosive Field; none of your team resists Poison, so there's still a good chance you'd see that happen a lot. Well, you've been handling yourself very well this far, so I have no doubt you'll get past Aya as well.
  16. How did you deal with Mienshao? It's faster than Hawlucha and packs Acrobatics as well.
  17. Woohoo, Sceptile! ...did nothing during the Shade Battle, boo! :c And not too long after that, Poison Hell. Again.
  18. I... hadn't even thought about how that would look. Thank you - that image of Camerupt swinging around the Big Top is hilarious. xD Didn't really feel up to doing anything last week, but I'll probably put out at least one update once weekend hits.
  19. *audience explodes* *Fern and Blake crying* *Amaria jumps into her pool*
  20. "Now you, too, can finally be a Mad Scientist!" @topic: I'd prefer if the Legendaries won't all be involved with Team Meteor or its remnants in some way. Some of them might as well just be living wherever they are; the canon games have a tendency to drop them in somewhat random spots as well. Afaik know there hasn't ever been any statement that all of them are one of a kind, only specific ones. It'd be interesting if we could get some of the "lesser" Legendaries as part of the story. Team Meteor would probably take the chance to try and grab it if they encountered a Legendary, or they might just happen to piss one of like they did with Giga-Steelix.
  21. @rayyan That battle is going to burn down the entire City.
  22. That mienshao is flat out terrifying if you can't outspeed it, lmao. Can't even goad it into High Jump Kicking into Protect or a Ghost. That would help. I regret I can't art worth shit, because somebody needs to edit that image into a Typhlosion.
  23. There will be no further patches for V4; next update will be V5.
  24. Preparations are done (read: I blew all my money on anything that might come in handy at some point). I also (finally) trained up two new team members: With that we finally have that empty sixth slot filled, but will also have to kick another 'Mon out of the permanent team. Here's how the reast of the team looks by now: Right after arriving at Agate Circus we also turn around back into the Gatehouse to get another, obligatory team member: After a trip through Route 2 and back (during which I made the frightening realization that I know the Crustle Puzzle by heart now) be secured that Aya and Hardy are both alright and get to fight our next Gym Leader. Cue Battle VS Strongman Samson This battle Was a MAJOR pain. Samson just seems to get worse with every run I do, jeebuz. The main issue was Hariyama pretty much always taking out one of my Pokémon before going down and Mienshao being faster than everything else. Hawlucha was also an issue, although if I had known his is actually a good deal slower than Mienshao I wouldn't have struggled quite so much. Blaziken's Speed Boost was also kind of annoying, because Camerupt was just never in any shape to go up against it. I don't know how many tries it took, but I think it was something about 2.5 hours. I actually won once relatively early, but there was so much dumb luck involved that I decided I wouldn't count that. I wish I had counted that one. Now we finally have the Fury Badge we never got back in Apophyll. It lets us use Surf, but doesn't do anything to the Level Cap. Not like that would be neccessary, anyway. We also get Brick Break - just another TM we won't use. That's it for today. Until next time See ya!
  25. Hu, don't know what's up then. In Cellia, every sixth (I think) battle should be a random Elite trainer. I don't think there are any restrictions to it, healing definitely doesn't affect it. Did you try talking to some of the NPCs? Maybe the Elites only get "unlocked" when somebody tells you about them or something like that.
