Found out earlier the whole "Summoning Ra in PVP" bonuses also apply to casual duels.  Well, 60 free gems for 5 duels is 60 free gems.  I didn't get extremely lucky and get "Duel, Standby" with Tea, but it was worth a try.

Finally finished the CYOA fanfic series I was reading for the past week or so.  Good stuff.  Still a bit bit pissed at the Meiling hate; the sheer tone difference between Being Meiling (the first story in the series)   and  The Tengu of (Mis)Fortune  (the last) was a bit much to reconcile    (at least in regards to some of Meiling's actions from an experimental first attempt at a comedy story).   It didn't help that Aya was less of a character and more of a plot device in the first story.

Ok, now I've actually got to finish the particulars and farming of this Duel Links event, since I've pretty much just logged on every few hours and hit  autoduel for most everything since a few days ago.   At least I have a good bit of Map pieces

Well, after getting one-shotted the first time around,  RA get.  Ok, I definitely need to start farming if I have any intention of getting these drops.

I do love when a story in a series makes you question a character's decisions/motivations/ect   from a previous entry, even if it's not flattering to said character.   A bit of the whole "from the other side of the looking glass" saying.   It's quite different when not in the context of the humor-driven, slice of life tone the first story was written in, with the new tone being a balance between the first's humor and the second's seriousness/drama.

Well, if there is one thing I'm liking so far about these CYOA stories (that relies on voting and reader input) is the discussions in-between the actual posts:

• Genuinely impressive write-in that honestly changed the course of the story significantly
• Breakdowns/discussions of which choice is the best to accomplish something  
• The essential route split of the second story basically devolving into something between a waifu war and a discussion over which character got better development.  that Keymaster almost decided to settle with a user submitted rap battle because of concerns over vote-spam
• And now very heated discussion over how justified the Main Character of the first story was to perform a certain action against the Main Character of the third story..........different tone and outlook really change things

Only four threads out of the twenty, I am loving this third/finale story so far.   I'm sad that this is the last story he wrote, with nothing else after 4 years.   Still, since I now only keep up with a handful of the fanfictions I followed over the years, I might look into more of these Touhou CYOA stories  and see if they appeal to me as much as Keymaster's stuff.

TFW you read all of a CYOA story and see that the author worked on an alternate route/ending following the character you wanted to win the first vote.     The massive vote split that happened when the author made clear it was a route deciding vote had a mod to check for votespam and everything.  Quite funny to read about years later.

I never thought I'd like CYOA stories, but I can see the appeal for some now.  Or maybe it's just Keymaster's stories, even if I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first.  I loved reading 'Being Meiling' a few months ago for it's slice-of-life nature and turning around the luck of one of Touhou's popular buttmonkies.  I've honestly read it 3-4 times since the first read.   I knew he had written others, but they didn't sound as appealing; finding out this was a related sequel had me read it ASAP  with his last/third story ending out the series.

This one dropped the slice of life aspect and had an OC take the main character role----a better written OC than 95% of fanfiction I've read, but still not an often overlooked canon Character-----though with heavy canon support from other usually overlooked characters.     Kind of fell apart some near the end, but this one only this author's second work-----learning experience I suppose.  Maybe the alternate end will fix some things.

I might look at other CYOA Touhou stories on the site, even if most don't have the same Slice-of-Life appeal as 'Being Meiling' according to people who voted their when it was being written,  though maybe that has changed since late 2013.

Took a break from farming and probably making some poor decisons on Duel Links today, though I still kept looging in to auto-duel occasionally to auto-duel any NPCs/roamers.   Did get a good bit of Marik and Arcana's drops, though still missing some major ones  (Mask of Remains, Magical Stone excavation, Arkana's Dark Magician).  You get everything you want from them already @Ojama Yellow?
