Zoe urgently searches her surroundings for a chest high wall. After all, everyone knows that there's always a chest high wall conveniently nearby in a combat zone, and that while crouching behind one you're completely immune to enemy fire. Assuming she finds one, Zoe will attempt to roll behind it to safety, and then get to her feet, but only into a crouch. If you stand up, the chest high wall won't protect you anymore.

Now united (except Alan gg no re), the group heads into the convention. There's a surprisingly small line, and it takes almost no time at all, perhaps because it's 2 PM and everyone who wants in is already inside. The con is very colorful, with extensive use of banners, streamers, and cheesy horror fonts advertising such events as a Marvel Comics panel, a presentation by famed horror director Sam Raimi, cosplay contests, and Walking Dead Laser Tag. However, before any of you can think to explore some of that, a skylight in the ceiling shatters, sending glass and passers-by scattering! From the broken window, a dark shadow drops! It's a bird! It's a bat! It's... this guy. He's tubby. He's kind of greasy looking. He fell way slower than physics suggest he should have. And he's waving a colorful, hardback book in one pale, sweaty hand as he gasps for breath. Chasing after him, a flash of red and blue! With a faint 'thwip!', a grappling line connects to the ceiling, allowing this far more acrobatic figure to swing in after the slimeball... Before a mighty sneeze causes him to plummet from his line to the floor, where he slides along through the broken glass and convention detritus. "Hahahaha! As I have forseen!" The black-clad guy laughs nervously, like he can't quite believe what's happening, "No amount of mere spider powers can stand up to the arcane might of the NECROMASTER, MASTER OF THE NECRONOMICOMIC! You will fall before me, Spider-Man!" He fires a bolt of energy from his right index finger, and Spider-Man is forced to stand there and take it with a grunt and a wince; if he'd dodged, it would have gone into the crowd of fleeing nerds. "Just (cough, cough) put the Necronomicomic down, Jared," Spider-Man tells the amateurish wizard, "It's not too late for you to come out of this without more than community service. Why would you even try to take over New York with a comic book spell tome you downloaded off the internet anyway? You have to know that's not going to work, man." "It has brought you to your knees, insectoid man!" Necromaster points out gleefully, "As it will all heroes!" It seems your wannabe wizard has presented himself. Danielle seems torn between helping Spider-Man and being under orders to not do superhero things in public before graduation, but you're under no such restrictions...

When Hiroki steps on the trapped tile, there's a clicking noise and a faint 'twang' as something tries to launch a thing. However, as the disc launcher trap is no longer loaded, it does not fire a second disc.

"RRRRg. Damn hotheads. I miss working with professionals," Iowa groans, "We could really use a chain of command. We're going to have to split up. Since we've got a lot of heavy hitters going for Trick to keep him busy, the rest of us should probably go for the Splash Zone to support the evac team in combat. Iowa heads toward the Splash Zone. She starts the process of loading her 12 Inch Guns with HE. Even if she can't get there in a timely fashion, she might be able to provide the rescue team with naval gunfire support.

"Intelligence gathering is not my strong suit, but I will do what I can." Alexandria considers simply standing in front of the warehouse for the duration and watching it, But that seems a bit too far on the brute force side even for her. Instead, Alexandria decides to look for a local cafe, bar, or other similar establishment where she can socialize and pick up local rumors/gossip/stories etc. Events like large scale bioweapons thefts rarely go unnoticed, even if the locals don't know exactly what they saw. If we have any, she'll withdraw a small amount of local currency to purchase a thing at the establishments she visits, so as to be less conspicuous. Well, as much as a huge, statuesque robot can. Any food purchased will be ingested and packaged by her nano forge inside her internal storage tanks, to be given to homeless people she passes on the streets. There's always a few.

Lexiel stares at the shrine contemplatively, and draws upon her mana once again before letting the bonds formed during battle fade away. A small army of generic Soldier Tokens appear before her, looking a bit confused at the lack of enemies to fight. "Do what you can to fix the shrine up." She orders the aether constructs, who produce an assortment of entrenching tools that can double as saws, hammers, wrenches, etc in a pinch. Lexiel has chosen to sacrifice use of her spell "Decree of Justice" during the next encounter in order to produce 10 Soldier Tokens to help fix up the Shrine of Amaterasu in the party's absence. The soldiers will defend themselves if necessary as they work, but otherwise don't have the independence to do anything except repair the shrine to the best of their ability before returning to the aether.

"Practice acting... On a doll? If you really think it will help..." Rachel squares off with the doll and gives it a quick once-over. The thing has clearly seen better days, as it wobbles on its stand, and it can't possibly have a machine-spirit, but... It's just as easy to see that the thing has faithfully served its thankless purpose for years, at least, and could continue to do so for some time yet. "STRAIGHTEN UP, CONSTRUCT!" She orders the dummy in her best 'actually competent commissar' voice, "Now is not your time to falter! Are you ready for the rag pile yet? NO! You have many years of faithful service behind you already, and God-Emperor willing, many ahead. SO STRAIGHTEN UP AND FACE ME WITH THE PRIDE YOUR SERVICE MERITS!" -
That did a rather disappointing amount of damage to the Maroon Dirge. Zoe Walker is not a fan of feeling like she's not 'contributing'. And it would be a shame to bring a lightning bolt and not use it... Zoe pulls out her holo-scroll, unfurls it with a flick of the wrist, and scrolls through it rapidly. She grabs a glyph from the scroll and pulls it right out of the computer, the cuneform sigil burning between her fingers as she furls the computer screen and shoves it up her sleeve. Sparks crackling off of the arcane symbol, she sets the glyph to hover in front of her, and then chops it in half with her sword. Electricity crackling across the blade, she levels the point somewhere between Neo-Shadows A, C, and D. "Ahahahahahahahaha! Kaboom, baybe!" KABOOM. A blindingly bright arc of electricity leaps from her sword, jumping between the three shadow creatures, releasing a hollow rumble of thunder as it grounds itself into them for 2d4 + 4 electricity damage apiece to Neo Shadows A, C, and D. Zoe Walker no longer has Chain Lightning equipped.

"If we prioritize the civilians in danger, there's a very real risk that Trick will continue doing damage," Iowa points out, "Treating the wounds of people who're being shelled only does so much as long as they're still being shelled. We should take the threat down as fast as possible, and then focus on search and rescue."

Edmond sees a lot of rather noticeable slits in the walls. He calls out to Hiroki as she walks out; the first few tiles seem to be fine, but the third she steps on triggers a pressure plate, launching a disk at her chest from one of the wall slits! Thanks to Edmond's warning, she's able to dive back the way she came, letting the disk slam against the far wall, where it leaves a thin patch of ice on impact.

"You want me to call the authorities? I'm not sure what you think you're getting from this, Doom, but..." FRIDAY has diverted all spare resources to contacting her allies! The Avengers Reservists will be contacted in 1 round. The NYPD will be contacted in two rounds. FRIDAY's digital constructs have been disrupted! The chat room collapses. Alan acquires six KryptoKitties before being locked out of the Stark Enterprises mainframe by a hardware-based bypass at the source! (6 v 14 luck check) Unfortunately, five seem to be flagged as Common Kitties, with only one being an Uncommon Kitty. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Yes, hello. I'm Danielle Moonstar. Pleasedtameetcha," The X-Man in training greets Aquila and Freya, "I ran into your friends here and they seemed extra special lost, just like you two. A rogue sorcerer isn't something I oughta let run around here, so I'll help you out if I can. I think I might be able to guest you into the con with my pass. I was planning on inviting some friends, but apparently none of them have taste in movies. Lucky for you guys, though."

"Acting lessons? I do not believe we are being filmed," Sister Rachel points out quite reasonably, "Are we? I appeared briefly in a few recruitment vids in my youth, but that was quite some time ago and I mostly had to stand around looking impressive. "At least the creature did not attack. Unless it's gone to fetch a horde of allies to assault us. Possible, but hopefully not likely. "People skills? I do not understand the question." -
How dare the Maroon Dirge be faster than Zoe Walker? That's not possible! Nobody's faster than Zoe Walker! Therefore, everyone who is faster than Zoe Walker must be destroyed! Zoe uses Aim for the Squishy Bits and stabs the Maroon Dirge, dealing 1d6 + 2 low velocity piercing damage, with a 10% chance for a x2 critical hit.

Lexiel summons her Furyborn Zealot, and orders him to attack the Gashadokuro. The Protoss warrior stands still, twitching with RAGE at the thought of not having the Haste keyword. Which he does not have, preventing him from attacking. He'll at least trigger a heal if the Soul Warden is still alive.

[IC] Waiting for Godot
DragonRage replied to Powder Miner's topic in Trespassers of the Multiverse: Gaiden^2's General
"Gilgamesh? The First Hero? On my world at least, the only Gilgamesh I know of is an ancient king, the main character of the oldest story to survive to present day," Vitor explains, "If I could have a look at that... Well, assuming it was written by the actual King Gilgamesh, I might be able to make something of it." If Leo's okay with it, Vitor will attempt to use his Psychometric Reading to read the book's history and see if it can be used to create an Emulated Phantasm. Should it qualify, he will use it to create an Emulated Phantasm. Having heard stories of the last Grail War, he's perhaps a bit too eager to get access to some Gilgamesh Power. -

Iowa thinks about the last battle. Her belt armor held up reasonably well, and her main guns performed to satisfaction... But a hit to her bridge incapacitated the entire ship as local control officers showed a disappointing lack of initiative, and her tertiary batteries entirely failed to engage the enemy. Were they waiting for orders or something? This requires some new procedures. And maybe some yelling at hapless fairy officers who really should know better.

[IC] Devil May Cry: Scattered Tomb
DragonRage replied to GodofGamingRWBY's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Well that looks like an opening! And when you're fighting for your life, there's no such thing as fighting fair. Izumi flourishes her sword and knife in a circle, charging them with crackling black energy, and assumes her Fencing Stance. Then, she attempts to skewer one of the Bloodcursed attempting to swarm DVS while the demon-possessed corpse isn't paying attention to her with an economical, blindingly-fast lunge. -

"Hey, Leo," Vitor approaches the resident mad wizard, having thought of something to take his mind off how weird and uncomfortable this place feels, "Did you pick up anything else interesting in Terraria, besides that sword I mean? I might be able to tell you more about them with a psychometric reading." -
"And not catch the disease ourselves," Danielle feels a pressing need to state that this is one of our objectives, "We're avoiding that. Yes."
