Is this V9 info? I seem to remember it not actually being obtainable in V8

You push the statues onto the left plate to fill all of the lights (but no more) and then stand on the other plate and interact with the wall to make it go up.

I approach the blue robed person and grab their hands in a non-hostile way that just seems like I'm trying to get their full attention (but I'm actually doing it to stop any potential somatic components of a spell) and ask them "hey, do you know what's going on here?"

Take a bit more time to read the dialogue maybe, it says you need to go and find Venam to get rid of the fence. (sorry if that sounded a bit rude but I'm not exactly sure how else to put it)

Not quite sure what you mean by this. as far as I'm aware, you defeat crobat, get a zubat and thats the end of that little event.

I don't remember exactly what the level cap is then, but I think it's above 44, which means you can train up a talonflame with priority acrobatics that works wonders, especially with some attack investment. next time it would be great if you could use the gym leader help thread though =)

Make sure you have the latest patch applied, then try walking through Amethyst cave again

This is a change with Sun/Moon, not specifically rejuvenation. that's why wingull was axed from early areas like oceania pier

This is true, Gen 4 was great with the expansions of old evolution lines, as was gen 2 before it. Sadly I'm not sure if we'll see this again

hmm maybe they should give megas to weaker pokemon instead of pseudo legendaries and such, and not give them abilities like parental bond...

I like how mega's can give old pokemon some new viability, and also act as a nice centerpiece to a team. A bit more re-balancing of things between generations, more megas to increase diversity, and more common NPC megas in main games to decrease how OP it feels for the player (not that main games are hard anyway) could be good maybe? at the very least I don't really think the current ones should be removed. I like the concept and general mechanics of Z-moves, but I think the flavoring of them in the games with the dance moves and stuff made them feel a bit silly, while mega evolution always felt epic. Also due to the nature of things in game, there were scenarios where I don't think they worked that well gameplay-wise (fairly easily oneshotting 'boss' totem pokemon, Kahunas not even using their Z-moves for various reasons)

see if there's still one Ariados somewhere around the gym. once you find all 4, they'll be in a square where you are now and will make a trampoline when you stand where than lady is. if there isn't, it's bugged and I'm not sure the patch helps all that much because I had problems too. if there is no other ariados, you might have to reload a backup from before the first time you tried the gym puzzle, and do the whole thing without using any of the teleport pads.

V9 story question:
Spoilerso there appears to be a story split based on your decision in darclight caves. how major is this split, and how many significantly different paths are there?

It annoyed me that when I sided with Erin in the caves, she told florin without asking me, which I didn't want to do. I played through the rest of the V9 story on that save already but I'm pretty sure I missed loads of bladestar stuff and I kinda wanna do that, especially as I heard about vendors selling useful stuff..... guess I'll be playing through the V9 content again...

@Hect I played through most of the actual choices in the cave, but I'm more wondering what happens in GDC due to each choice. and what things you get access to on each path.

So I just rushed through the main V9 story again, this time going with flora in the caves and telling her that I know. most things seemed pretty much the same, except you battle flora instead of florin for the gym badge, flora doesn't get arrested, and instead of the part in the Judicial district with cassandra, you go through a small sequence in the botanical gardens and bladestar HQ with flora and erin. still haven't found these "bladestar grunts in gdc underground" that supposedly sell a bunch of useful stuff.
I'm thinking with the paths, there maybe a third one where you just don't tell anyone what you saw, so I'd be interested to know what happens differently on that path or if you just end up on one of the others. I'm guessing there's no more than that, but if anyone else knows differently.....
might start a thread at some point discussing the different options here, unless anyone else wants to do it?

most shadow pokemon get one or more special moves when they're purified I think.

I haven't hatched it yet, but looking in the graphics folder, it definitely looks like charmander and not fennekin. there might be a small pool of options?
