It is based on it but I don't know that series so I just told it in the terms I knew.

A game needs to satisfy a certain formla to make it feel like a game of that series. For instance Jack X while being a good game and all, is not a jack and dexter game to me while Dexter is. The same with pkmn mystery dungeon it is a good game and it has pkmn but it wasn't a ' pkmn game' to me if you catch my drift. However these games are fundamently far away from the main series. However even (fan) games that are closer to the series do need to satisfy the 'formula of a pkmn game'. Take for instance pkmn distrust I will spoil a bit about it here so Even this which is closer to the main games still didn't feel like a pkmn game to me. However I also played pkmn reborn, rejuvenation, se7en, desolation, reborn hardcore . They all follow the same formula: beat the gym leaders, defeat the evil organisation, become champion (not yet but still),.. . Yet they feel different to me and aren't the same or a rehash of a game. That is because they supplied additional elements to their formula: Reborn's formula contains character and morality as additional elements to their formula. Rejuvenation formula contains mystery and 'vibrancy': Pkmn se7en adds exploration to the formula. They did this by simply using no previous gen pkmn and making custom pkmn. Whcih means that you're entire team is surprising and exciting. Which pkmn am I finding here? What do they learn? Do they evolve? What is my enemy using? By adding this could create a huge amount of excitement and freshness into the game. By adding no old gen pkmn they made sure you would no fall back to the secure/boring choices. Pkmn desolation is a pkmn game that adds choice to the formula: This choice means that the adventure, becomes closer to your adventure. The last one is reborn hardcore, you could say it is has the same formula as reborn but that isn't true either. Reborn Hardcore added more difficulty to the formula of pkmn reborn. The name itself makes it clear and gives away what you can expect. This gives Reborn hardcore another feel to it. For instance the reputatuon system comes in e16 and I care about it in reborn but not hardcore. Why because I didn't enjoy/play hardcore for it, it was the augmented challange that made me enjoy reborn hardcore. So long post short, you need to follow a cerytain formula to create a game that fits the series but even with this formula you have a lot of room to expand upon. That's the problem with a lot of series like the pkmn main games, they use almost the excact same formula with very little differences. This makes the series feel stale and boring. So what is the nature of pkmn? To me it seems (not sure more a feeling) that the nature of pkmn is creating your team and overcomming challenges with said team. So I think that a well executed pkmn game could work with instead of being a trainer being a police officer or detective. It will still be difficult since you have to make sure the newly add elemnts don't interfere with the basic ones but I think it would still be a pkmn game to me.

Does anyone know where I can find the heat rock again?

I prefer Meganium's design way more then Torterra's one.

Well soon to be beaten by a teenager team leader, there is one little problem with this plan. The pkmn world doesn't seem to have a government nor a president. Also pokmen centers and markets are overrated.
-
Because the list of pkmn whicb can learn setup moves outside rain dance are Crustle, Parasect and Leavanny which are not the best in the bug type category. I think these bugs are too much of a limitation to Bennet at E4 lvl.

I don't know about leaf stones but you can get sun stones by either pickup or catching solrocks in the bronze island. Personaly my theory is Darkrai, I doubt it is Nova or Shiv because the voice sounds to impartial.

If i had the skills to back it up I would be a gym leader. After that I would consider opening a daycare or if I don't get the right vibe with it I would be a researcher.

Current Team, Alternative Pokemon Dump, and Advice Request
FairFamily replied to Antilegend's topic in Team Showcase
Filler moves are fair enough I suppose. Hidden power grass is fine. Water pulse is still gambling though. It is like 20% chance though. Muddy watter could be a good alternative more damage and a better chance at a negative effect even when you consider the accuracy. I'm not fan on save plays on sweepers. Especially when your other options are equally dangerous to itself which are likely to be played against the following pkmn after you beat the first pkmn. Shame for gengar though, I just saw it can learn venoshock which is still decent stab even without poison and with a layer of toxic spikes he gets a monstrous stab move which you have. Crunch might be on your lucario's movepool depending on the breeding. Well again reisted by fairies though. -

Why do you have quick guard and mean look on that Crobat. I mean Quick guard seems a bit strange considering most of reborns fights are singles. The AI doesn't swith a lot either so why the mean look. Haze seems more usefull or super fang. Also the fire punch seems a bit weird on the blaziken when you see the brave birds and the high jump kicks. The metal claw on Lucario seems a bit strange considering you have access to shadow claw which gives coverage for about the same base power. The conkeldur what's with the low kick? Hammer arm seems more suefull if you want to go for the alternative fighting move. Or you could go mach punch(if you want to breed and lvl again) for some priority. Vaporeon, water pulse when you have surf? Is it for the confusion? Also why aqua ring ? Jolteon, whats the hidden power type and power? That gengar is the weirdest gengar I have seen, i would give it dark pulse instead of curse for some anti normal stuff coverage + confuse flinch. Swellow, again why the quick guard? The tyrantrum, I prefer a jolly dragon dance one. I mean after a dragon dance there is very little that will out speed you any way. -
I really like the wilder hair an bigger flowers. Seems to suit her better, a shame she got a makeover now into a proper girl.

It is in your saved games folder on your computer. EDIT: most likely "C:\Users\User\Saved Games\Pokemon Reborn" .

Welcome to reborn.

You might be able to recover your team just go to "C:\Users\User\Saved Games\Pokemon Reborn" or search for game.rxdata and open the folder this file is located, there you will find a lot of .rxdata with a serie numbuer name and play time but also one called game.rxdata. First rename your current save "game.rxdata" and rename it to anything you want. Then look in the other for the one with the latest serienumber copy it and call it game.rxdata. Start up your game. You should have your old team back. I also advise you too look at this http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20828.

You won't get any other ice type before you defeated the second gym.

My heart kinda broke when I saw the nidorina an realised it was Corey's. For some reason it was the second most emotional moment from Reborn, for reference the first is the msimagius event. So yeah I feel the same way abou the pkmn of Corey but I doubt we will be able to find his grimer.

Shadow sneak is not going to do much over sucker punch, considering shadow sneak does not offer any extra coverage especially against AI where mind games are not a thing.
-
I can buy all of them but I also pumped the maximum amount of money in it so I can't tell if it is a bug or intentional.

A bit dissapointed to see another dark/ghost type pop up, Personally I was hoping for the fairy/dark, oh well. Also I feel this mightyena will play a lot like a sharpedo.
-
Well, my solution to this would be to aliasing. Instead of saying that the game name is the name of the folder, I would allow different game names to map to the same folder. You need however maintain a file of to which folder each games point to (or at leas the exceptions) and find the correct folder in that file everytime you want to access a save file.

Well first congratulations on creating this application. It seems really usefull and intuitive. The first thing I noticed is that it will not work on reborn hardcore since it uses the same folder as reborn but different executables. I also wonder if it was possible to when you import to start from the folder name you typed in. For the rest, fantastic work

Long live procrastination because I reached the end. So now I'm back for my second review. The difficulty is still there but at the same time I had the feeling that the difference between normal reborn and hardcore was slowly shrinking as the game was progressing. Maybe it is just me acclimating to hardcore or just the nature of my team. For the rest I will just do a the few gripes I had with some of the major battles. Radomus was acyually quite funny. I took the trick room variant and to my surprise both ( I only saw the 2) of the mons that knew trick room were 4 times weak against bug type moves. I don't know if that was the intention but it made my battle a lot easier. Samson was easy but only due to me having a serious matchup advantage by having a chesnaught. He can easily set up six bulk ups thanks to leech seed and can easily counter one of it counters, bounce, with spiky shield.I think it is a bit too advantagous but the amount super effective hits from the multiple pkmn can eventually wear him down. The pulse Avalugg just sufffers from the same thing any boss mon, it is a boss mon. Curse practically finished him, same with Swalot. The gambler was a fun surprise. That Alakazam though, I think (it's been a few days) it was fast enough to outspeed my galvantula after a speed drop. Ciel was a bit strange I need all my 6 mons but 5 them were actually defeated by three of mine. Most of them were swept by my diggersby, one of them I couldn't even remember. For the rest it was fun while it lasted. Good job, I hope to see more.

I only can show you which child it is in the camp but I don't know if you can specifically find him in the game.
