  1. I kind of wish Nintendo would stop relying on whatever gimmick of the month they've pulled out of a hat for their consoles and just do...y'know...normal things. People don't buy their consoles for the gimmicks; they buy them for the games. You're not going to find Smash Bros., Mario, LoZ, etc. games on any other systems short of emulating them on PC, so I don't know why they have it in their heads that they need to find something new and inventive to sell the consoles. And as for this particular gimmick (for those who didn't read the supposed 'leak' about the NX in the article), I don't think Nintendo really knows how to resonate with buyers of today. Sure, a lot of people are looking for more portable options, but that doesn't mean that they want to drop their home system entirely. Playing games like Fire Emblem and Pokemon on the go is nice and all, but I really do prefer just sitting back on a couch and just playing home console games every now and then.
  2. Odd, but the link isn't loading for me. I'll take a look at it some other time then. PokeVision is super helpful tho. That being said, it feels kinda cheatsy. But, I suppose this is better than wasting items when the servers have even the slightest chance of going down at any time.
  3. Eh, I believe, more specifically, that she took the prototype that Seth was using or something along those lines. Idk, Street Fighter lore is a mess. I can understand competitive clarity and I'll grant that to them. I'll whine and moan about it, but being able to distinguish attributes of one character from another is what comes first. I hope that they did make it that way for the latter reasoning and not just because of whatever messed up lore they've decided to follow.
  4. Man, I hate how they made her effects some kind of dull silver instead of her trademark purple/pink. "But it makes sense cuz the lore says-" NO, FECK YOU. I DON'T CARE WHAT STREET FIGHTER LORE SAYS; IT'S NEVER MADE SENSE WITH THE GAMES SO WHY ARE THEY APPLYING IT NOW?
  5. ...y'know, I came here to ask questions, but how the hell is a Budewkuma more frightening than Monokuma?
  6. Started up the original Paper Mario and saw it was released in 2001. Didn't think 2001 was that long ago until it hit me that its been 15 years.

    1. Jacobliterator

      Jacobliterator

Still holds up after 15 years.

  7. I do remember playing the EBF series from start to completion, but honestly a lot of them haven't aged well. Maybe 4 is still likable, but honestly the games aren't as visually appealing as I remember them to be. Perhaps it's just me, but the creator's art style looks too cartoonish and bubbly. Don't get me wrong, I like that kind of art style, but it gets painful to look at after a while. And this is an RPG, so chances are you're going to be looking at it for long periods of time. I just can't bring myself to do that anymore. Speaking of RPGs, there was a game recently released on Steam (not so sure about other platforms) called "I am Setsuna." Now apparently it pays homage to some of the older-style JRPGs such as Chrono Trigger; we're supposed to think of it as a spiritual successor to those kind of games. From what I've read, the game is fantastic. I'm very interested in it, but the $40 price tag is keeping me away for now. I'll be more open to purchasing it whenever funds become available.
  8. Open Pokemon Go, first thing that spawns is a Rattata. THANK GOD, I I WAS AFRAID I'D HAVE TO MOVE A COUPLE INCHES TO FIND ONE.

  9. First off, wrong place to post this. Next time, head over to Reborn City for any questions/topics about Pokemon Reborn. Also, if you download the latest episode, then you'll get all the other episodes along with it. So you don't really need to download any of those episodes separate from episode 15. If you're looking for a link, there should be a link to your left in a column under Pokemon Reborn. There should be a link that says "Game Download" right there.
  10. Perhaps it's just me, but EVO felt...anticlimactic. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of Ally for winning it, but everything about it just felt unaccommodating. The entire set-up felt rushed and it looked like EVO just didn't particularly care about Smash 4. Melee top 8 was pretty hype tho.
  11. Ok, so I haven't exactly been following Gen 7 news as much recently, but...Bewear? That's such a stupid looking Pokemon. ...I want it.
  12. Thanks for the recommendations. I've heard of/played most of them already, but I appreciate the sentiment. Honestly, I've been meaning to get Mother 3 in some shape or form for quite a while now but, once again, it is not exactly high on the priority list. I'll probably be looking into it after I finish up my time with Enter the Gungeon and actually sit down and finish Ori and the Blind Forest. Like, I already know how the game ends and I'm quite close to beating it, I just haven't gotten around to actually just sitting down for a solid session of it and just finishing it. Yes, I do believe Undertale has been over-hyped especially since its been almost a full year since its release. That being said, I enjoy watching speedruns of it. Some of the glitches found in the game are somewhat ludicrous. Even so, the quickest run for Neutral Ending Any% is like 55 minutes or something like that.
  13. Trust me, Xenoblade is one of the games I am planning on getting, but right now it isn't a high priority. There are a lot of other titles that I would like to get before it, they just aren't all on Wii U. That being said, I love JRPGs, so if you can suggest any for Wii U, PC, or 3DS (the main three I play on anymore), I'd love to hear 'em.
  14. Ah, was afraid of that. I'm not too familiar with Shin Megami Tensei, and honestly probably don't plan to get familiar with it either, but my ears perked up when I heard Fire Emblem was in the game. Sad to hear that it's just a mediocre fanfiction game.
  15. I've been inspired recently to try and expand my horizons with what music I listen to.
  16. Enter the Gungeon has been taking up a bit of my time recently. The game is pretty fun and rather addicting in some regards. So, tell me, is Tokyo Mirage Sessions worth buying at all? Or is it just a mediocre game that has a popular series crossover to help and cover it?
  17. Oh yeah, I think there's almost no doubt that they are considered the casting duo when it comes to Street Fighter and the like. Each game seems to have their definitive casters anymore tho. With Tekken we have Aris, Melee has Bobby Scar and Toph, etc.
  18. Have you heard SkiSonic's casting? He may play the game but my god is he wrong with just about every other thing that he says. I think I would like either Urien's or Cody's move-set/powers. Urien only if I could yell crush, kill, destroy and all that when I do an attack.
  19. If you thought Sajam/James Chen and/or Seth Killian/Mike Ross was bad, then you're in for a world of disappointment. These guys are honestly, in my opinion, four of the best casters in the business. Ultra David is also very much like these guys, but he opted to be part of the crowd during top 8 this year instead of casting (probably just missed the feeling). All of these guys have upped the quality of the games that I've watched and, to top it off, they actually play the game so they understand it. Most of the time whenever one slips up, the other person is there to immediately correct the mistake. And as for advertising chairs, well...they have a responsibility as they are sponsored by Vertigear along with many other companies. Casters have so many responsibilities, especially when it comes to Top 8 of a tournament--not to mention it being the largest fighting game tournament of the year. The fact that these guys are able to commentate so well and calmly (most of the time) in front of a crowd this huge is a testament to how long they've been doing this. Also, I'm sad that there wasn't really a lot of character diversity in Top 8. 3 Nash and 2 Chuns. Then the last 3 were Vega, Mika, and Ken. Like, people talk about how balanced this game is all the time, but my goodness does professional play make these character look MUCH better than the rest of the cast.
  20. Honestly, I like both, but only when each one is done well. 3D models have the capability to look fantastic but there's also a very high possibility of them looking bland and uninspired. The same can be said for sprites, though I rarely find any good cases of games having amazing sprite-work nowadays. And I'm not talking any run-of-the-mill "this looks ok" sprite-work; I mean gorgeous and beautifully animated sprites where you're ever-so slightly unconvinced that they're not hand-drawn. A good example of this is KoF XIII. I mean, just look at this.
  21. Yeah, so if you want water types, chances are that you'll find them anywhere that you'll find regular Pokemon. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but even some of the Pokemon that seem like they'd be required to be in water are just randomly out on land. I don't think I've actually found any Pokemon whatsoever in any body of water so far. Oh, and I found a freakin' Venonat and Nidorino in my local Wal-Mart. Caught 'em, thank goodness.
  22. Haven't been able to play around with it today (too busy working on my car), but from my short time messing with it I have found a Squirtle, Pidgey, and a Spearow. So I have TWO Squirtles now! ...no seriously, trading when Nintendo?
  23. Already mentioned, but Lightworks is a pretty decent option if you learn how to use it. I have Sony Vegas now tho and am puttering around with it.
